Going Deeper with Biblical Hebrew: An Intermediate Study of the Grammar and Syntax of the Old Testament

Rate this book
Learning any language is no small task, not least one that sounds as unusual as Hebrew does to most English speakers’ ears. Going Deeper with Biblical Hebrew primarily aims to equip second-year grammar students of biblical Hebrew to read the Hebrew Scriptures. Using a variety of linguistic approaches, H. H. Hardy II and Matthew McAffee offer a comprehensive and up-to-date textbook for professors and students.

Hardy and McAffee produce a superb and up-to-date intermediate grammar for Biblical Hebrew. Published just this year (2024), its pages cite valuable sources for further study of many of the details of classical Hebrew. I have already recommended it highly to fellow Hebrew teachers in seminaries and Bible colleges, as well as to a number of former and current students. Having taught Hebrew for over 50 years, I am thrilled to find quality materials that keep on advancing this field of study and its application to knowing the Hebrew Bible more deeply.
