A man with no name.
Mysterious.
Dangerous.
Brooding.
Sexy.

Once a week he frequents the bar where Mackenzie works. He orders the same drink, scotch on the rocks, and he sits back on the same lounge chair, quietly watching… waiting…

He has money - that much is obvious. He wears his tailored suits well. He smells divine, of expensive cologne, and orders his scotch from the top shelf.

He drinks alone, but he never leaves that way. With a snap of his fingers, a flick of his eyes, a glimmer of a smile, he gets the attention of the most attractive women in the bar.

This time his focus is on Mackenzie. Instead of feeling nervous Mackenzie is enthralled, intrigued… and aroused.

Please Note: This was originally written as a stand alone short story but after numerous requests for more, it has recently been turned into a series. This novella contains explicit sex scenes (including BDSM) and is for mature 18+ readers only.

I have an unhealthy addiction to books, I love to read them, live them and write them. I love books that are full of angst, heartbreak and breathtaking romance, tragedy, everyday issues and not-so-everyday fantasies. I love swoon-worthy bad boys and hot and steamy sex scenes, edge-of-your-seat drama, twists, turns and surprises. And most importantly, happily-ever-afters!

So this is labelled as a "dark and erotic novel"
Pffftttt
description

There's nothing dark about this. It was a quick, boring read with a dry, lackluster sex scene.

Mackenzie works at a high end bar. Each Friday night a dark, brooding customer walks in, sits in the corner, crooks his finger, and leaves with a woman of his choice. We're not given many details, we don't even know his name, or where the story takes place. Fine points that would've added to the story are missing. One Friday night Mackenzie gets her wish and he invites her over to his table while she's working to have a drink with him. This guy try to comes off as an alpha male, by being possessive and telling Mackenzie that she can only speak when he tells her to, but somehow it doesn't work and instead he comes across as a controlling douche bag.

description

Ummm newsflash it takes more to be an alpha male than saying things like "sit" or "on your hands and knees."

Anyway, they go back to his place and have very blah sex. I fell asleep during the sex scene. I'm not kidding... I woke up and realized I fell asleep in the middle of reading this, so that says alot about my enjoyment of this.

I've read books with darker elements than this. I didn't squirm, wince or experience any emotions while reading this. No tingles... no feelings... nothing, nada, not a thing.

Overall this book had potential that was unmet. With deeper character exploration, more intense romance scenes and a different hero it could have been an enjoyable read. Sadly with the lack of these elements it came across as dull, bromidic and cliched. I only wish I could "erase" this literary torment from my mind.

***** HELL NO!!!.....DNF****

Something tells me I missed the authors intention. This BEEYOTCH wanted to punch "Sir" in the cock NOT pounce on it. Sorry, not my cuppa of ALPHA. PLEASE don't let my opinionated self deter you from reading ERASER. The book has numerous 5 stars reviews.
Unfortunately, this reader must say......

2.5 ★'s

Well, I'm not sure what's happening with me and freebies but this is the second one I've read this year and that's probably a record!

Anyway, a few good things...

it was free.

it was short.

it gave me a Consequences vibe.

the epilogue was from Sir's POV.

Overall, it wasn't a bad read although I didn't care for the slapping. And I'm still not sure how the title fits into the story. The play with his name was probably the best part and I loved how it ended!

"I will erase every memory of every man you have ever been with, good and bad."

He is the one you dream about, he is the one you fantasize about, but you know nothing about him even his own name. How can you lust after a stranger, how could one look from him make your knees weak? For months every Friday brought in the dark haired stranger, groomed in his tailored suits, a flick of his finger provided him his drink of choice, the lite of his cigarette, and a different woman on his arm at the end of the night. Than one night everything started the same but ended so much different, this week he sets his sites on Mackenzie…
“Why me? Why now?” she asked.

“Why not?” he countered.

Would you go home with the man who with one look promises bliss and pleasure beyond your wildest dreams? The promise to erase all the men from your past and future…
“Need you…

dream you…

bind you…

taste you…

fuck you…

use you…

scar you…

break you…”

Eraser is a book about mind fucking you to submission and the pleasure you will find at the power of another. It said it was a dark read, and I didn’t think there was anything dark about it. It was more about the mystery of the stranger and how the imagination can boost your lust tenfold. This little shortie was told from Mackenzie’s POV, but in the end we get a peak inside his head, it wasn’t enough to state my curiosity, and I wished it was longer. This had so much potential, but in the end it left me wanting.

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

Eraser is a little novella that leaves a BIG impression.

Reading the synopsis had me intrigued. Reading the first lines had me hooked. Eraser is different from Megan Keith’s other works and it is a true testament of an author’s talents when they can venture away from their comfort zone and dish out a deliciously steamy plot.

Mackenzie is a refreshing heroine who doesn’t shy away from what she wants. Even with her reservations, she accepts our dark hero’s attentions and takes us on a riveting journey. Throwing caution to the wind, Mackenzie spends the night acting out fantasies she may not have even realized she had with a man whose name she doesn’t know.

I loved the mystery behind the hero. Not knowing his name left Mackenzie intrigued and in return, had me intrigued. What I love most about Eraser is that it allows readers to experience an adventurous fantasy they may not be willing to play out in real life. How many women stop and stare at the attractive man across the room, fantasizing all sorts of bold and courageous scenarios only to leave them within the confines of their imagination? Eraser not only provides the opportunity to explore that fantasy, but through great writing, also leaves readers satisfied.

Bravo to Megan! Eraser is a delicious five star read.

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME!!!!
I LOVED every word of this novella.

It's a short short read, took about 45 minutes.
Please be aware though, there is a section that MAY cause readers distress.

I have to say, I was intrigued right from the start, I was totally enthralled from the blurb.

So the story is based on Mackenzie, and my only issue with her was, there were moments she showed confidence in herself but then the self doubt was quick to follow!

Now about 'him'....... Yes please Sir!

But damn it..... Why is a name so important?!

NOTE: Not for the weak, feint-hearted or for people with sticks up their ass (unless you like that sort of thing sexually that is)., This had me cracking up!!

First of all I've just got to say it!!

And it didn't get any better for me as the story went along

I don't know if it was the story or just me, as I usually tend to gravitate towards "Dark, Gritty reads" this just didn't pull me in, so please take my rating with a grain of salt..

OK, so let me get this straight ... You see a hot guy in a bar, you see him take home a DIFFERENT girl every week and you're still hot after him? Low self-esteem much Mackenzie?? Then, when he actually talks to her (or bosses her around)... WHAT AN ASS!!! PULEEZE!!! And then she goes home with him, not even knowing his name and feels "at home" with him after he slaps her across the face? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? And the "Epilogue" ... Don't even get me started on that MESS.

This book was not only AWFUL, it was completed DISTASTEFUL and DISRESPECTFUL towards women! Dark Erotic my ass!!!

I need to go find my happy place ...

My only positive negative about this short story is exactly that, it was a short story…too short. There’s no question Megan Keith can write, no question how talented she is, the only real question is…why didn’t she make this longer??? I just didn't want it to end.

Honestly, DO NOT pass this up. It may be a quickie but it is soooo worth it! Kind of hard to pass up a story about a mysterious sexy man who is wicked, controlling and satisfying in bed, don’t ya think?!

She felt the tiny hairs on the back of her neck lift. Discreetly she flicked her eyes in the direction of the front door just as he entered.

I haven’t read about a domineering man in a while and with this Megan Keith made me missing those kinds of characters. Seriously I just want more of her ‘Sir’ character. Like NOW!

He was her undoing, he unnerved her, he was her weakness.

Megan Keith, you did a great job on this erotica. Way different from your wonderful Finding My Way series. It just goes to show, you have a great gift and I look forward to all you offer to us readers.

A sincere thank you to the author for being so kind and giving me the opportunity to read this in advance.

I'm not a lover of short stories, it's sometimes hard to really connect with the characters in them because of time constraints to character build. So I rarely read them, but I totally connected with this and I'm really glad I read it and the characters? Well they just came alive right from the first page.

Another reviewer remarked that this is atmospheric and boy is that spot on, it oozes sensuality too, very visual, extremely potent and the erotica is written tastefully and perfectly well presented. Jeez even I would have gone off with sexy eyes! Megan really brought these characters to life within the 127 pages and that closing line, ha that brought a big smile to my face - taunt us much!

Loved it, yeah I could wish it was longer and if it had off been I know I would have still loved it. But as short as it is, it's a great piece of erotic escapism and even though I got it for free I would have happily paid money for it too it's that good.

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.

I wasn't sure what to think when I saw the name of the novella, it intrigued me, but once you read the story...it's so clever!

Mack has watched a man come into the high-class bar that she works in for months. He has intrigued her and excited her without ever saying a word to her. She's sat back and bided her time for the night that he looks at her, speaks to her, and asks her to leave with him.

That night finally comes and she realizes this is the man who can open up parts of her she didn't know existed. He can control her body with a word and make her feel at home with nothing more than a laugh.

The only problem is - she doesn't know his name & he doesn't do repeats......or does he?????

You'll have to read to find out.

This is smokin' hot little novella that will leave you breathless!

Smokin' hot! There are no other words to describe this novella Eraser! What I loved is that Mackensie isn't weak and timid, she's strong, smart and feisty. And Sir, well he is just all alpha! Smooth, confident, aware of his power over women. Eraser is short, but long enough to be a fully realised story, he sex scenes are hot, and the story builds nicely, there is enough background that you truly understand the characters. I also loved that the epilogue was from Sir's POV. I loved the abruptness of the ending as it left you wanting more. Would love for Megan to write a sequel to further explore Mack & Sir's relationship.
A great short read!

OMG!

Who is this author? I'm going to go do some research. The ending to the story was brilliant. The whole story, amazing!!! I wanted MORE!!!! I need MORE! When you are reading the story you are kind of thinking the guy is a bit of a jerk, but OH NO! He is definitely not. The girl, Mackenzie, was a strong character. I loved her, she was not whiny or weak. This story has some very hot, steamy sex scenes so be warned. There is also romance, you might think when you are reading it that it's not a HEA, but it is. Loved the whole story! Well written, no errors, that is always a plus for me :)

*SPOILERS*
Let me tell you what the story is about. Mackenzie works at this high end bar M-F and on Friday nights, exactly at 9:30pm the same guy comes in, very well dressed and hot as hell, raises his finger and she goes gives him his order. He orders the same drink all the time, very expensive scotch. They don't really talk, she pretty much all that says to him is yes sir or anything else sir? Really short conversations... After working at that bar for 7 months and waiting every Friday for him to show up, one night he finally changes his routine. He always does the same thing, sits at the same seat, orders the same drink and leaves with a very good looking lady, all different, every Friday. Then on that Friday he decides he wants her (Mackenzie) that night, the conversation that follows is very interesting... he is cocky, she is strong willed. They make a great pair if you ask me. She of course accepts to go home with him because he tells her that he was only going to ask once and she didn't want to pass the opportunity up. The sex scene that follows was super steamy, hot and kinky (not for the faint of heart) There was a part where I was actually scared, I was like OMG! And my eyes went like this O_O So I'm not gonna tell you what happens after the super hot sex scene because then I'll just totally ruin the book for you. But you have to read this, it is a short story, you will be able to read it in one night and hopefully you will be satisfied with the ending. I was. But I screamed NOOOOOOOO! I could not believe it ended that way, in a good way tho.

Mackenzie works at a posh bar where she dresses provocative. She serves drinks and flirts with the men who visit this posh bar. There is 1 guy in particular that she wishes, who would take her home like he does a different woman every week he visits.
This guy Mackenzie has seen frequent the bar for months on end would take a different woman home with him. Never the same one though. He would motion them over and they would sit and chat then leave the bar. This mysterious guy would come back the next Friday and repeat it again.
This Friday would change Mackenzie’s life. All that daydreaming and fantasizing about him is about to come true. He motions for Mackenzie to come over and from there the flirting and small banter takes off. She realizes that he picked her for that night and she can’t believe it.
They sit and talk he orders her to drink and she does. He tells her that he doesn’t do repeats ever. This puzzles Mack. He gives her a choice either stay at the bar or go home with him and have the night of her life, the best sex that will rock her world. What would you do? Go with this guy who’s name you don’t know and have the best night of your life or stay and never see him again? What do you think Mack did?
I can tell you this that while they sit and talk Mack feels like this mystery man completes her. Not sure how he does but he does. She is full of nerves and knows that this is her once in a life time.
I found this novella to be alright for me. I like erotica and BDSM books. I got somewhat into this novella. Just didn’t feel that pull to keep me glued. That being said though we all have different opinions so please don’t let mine sway you from reading this novella.

Is this novella a prequel to a book Megan's writing? That's what has been going through my mind since I finished reading it. I mean I really did love no-name, "will you come home with me please?" he asked, his voice full of mischief." And Mack that girl took no sh** from no one not even Mr. No-name, "what?" That papillon is french for butterfly?: I may be just a barmaid to you, but I'm not completely uneducated. And my name is Mack, Mackenzie or nothing," she said sternly." I just didn't like how no-name just dismissed her after it was rude, "you may leave," he said with a barely a glance in her direction, then took a drag of his cigarette." I'm hoping this is a prequel novella to something.

*ARC provided by author in return for an honest review

This novella was an amazing read and its wonderful atmospheric theme totally surrounded and enveloped me into this deep and seductive dance between the two main characters Mackenzie and Sir.

Mackenzie has been watching the mysterious stranger who comes into the high class bar where she works. He arrives at the same time every Friday night and leaves with the woman he entices, a different one each week. She knows when he has arrived as she can feel the air subtly change whenever he appears. She is strongly drawn to him and finds herself being frustrated that she is so out of his league and would never catch the eye of this gorgeous and handsome sexy man. But then on that one night she is shocked to find herself the target of his attention from his stance at his usual table. Mackenzie is therefore taken aback but is curiously intrigued, very nervous but so attracted to this man. When he asks her to sit with him and buys her a drink she knows that something has started as he has never done this with any of the women he has walked out with before. He ‘asks’ her to leave with him and when in the chauffer driven car to his penthouse, he blindfolds her, she knows she is in for something ultimately daring, dangerous but so enticing.

Oh I just loved this book! It was so dramatic and if you play the music suggested (Mr Self Destruct and Eraser by Nine Inch Nails) it added to the pleasure of this read. It was so dark and dramatic but absolutely tantalising and erotic. The writing and flow actually made me feel I was the receiver of the attentions of ‘Sir’ and I was there in the moment with him (I wish!) It was amazing!

I have read Ms Keith’s other books which are New Adult genre so this was a whole leap away from this. I know she has stated she came way out of her comfort zone to write this so can I just say she needs to be a whole lot uncomfortable again and keep writing this genre.

I can count on one hand the number of novellas which are brilliant and this one is now amongst them. Fabulous!

WARNING: This novella contains explicit sex scenes (including BDSM) and is for mature 18+ readers only.

So I met Megan Keith at the Indie Authors Down Under event at the Gold coast in March... I found a lot of new authors and got lots of new books to read... and I was lucky in that this was available free that weekend and I have finally gotten around to reading Eraser!

This book has given me a new meaning to "Yes Sir" - this is a short Novella that packs a punch. It covers BDSM so as the warning in the synopsis says if this type of content offends you this book is not for you.

The story is about Mackenzie who works in a bar, one of the patrons is a mysterious man who visits once a week. He orders the same drink, scotch on the rocks, (a man with taste - I love the brand that he drinks!) He drinks alone, but he never leaves that way.

But this time he has turned his attention on Mackenzie. Instead of feeling nervous Mackenzie is enthralled, intrigued… and aroused.

Mackenzie has felt attracted to this man since he walked into the bar, so when he tells her to sit and have a drink with him, she does.

This Novella is a great example of a short read with great erotic writing and I would say to anyone who likes this genre to one-click.
totally awesome
Quoting Megan - "This was originally written as a stand alone short story but after numerous requests for more, it has recently been turned into a series. Book two, Eraser Blue is now available".
thank goodness she listened to her fans... I was glad I got book 2 there on my kindle waiting for me to dive straight back in!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
If you looking for a book that turns the butterflies in your stomach into knots of tension then this is the read for you. A perfect size novella to escape on a lunch hour, while lingering in a waiting room, or when you just have a need to read. Just make sure your location is air-conditioned and you have a cool drink in hand. Follow a bar waitress and her mysterious Friday night patron as they embark on a chance encounter that will leave you breathless. A truly mouthwatering read that will leave you thirsty for more. I loved Mackenzie's willingness to seize her chance, and her patron; there are no words to do that man justice. True to his word he did not disappoint. Also I really loved the music choice.

If you haven't ready Eraser yet, what are you waiting for!

Five stars! Eraser isn't just any quickie read.
The story lingers with you long after you finish that last line...
and did that last line linger!

I loved "Sir" and the mysterious aura around him. The chemistry between him
and Mackenzie kept me on the edge of my seat.
I couldn't wait to read what happens next.

Megan spun her web beautifully, tangled me up with her words and held my fast until the end.

I loved every second of this book and if HOT and STEAMY is your thing, this read is definitely for you.

The only problem I have is that I still want more...Give us more "Sir" Megan!

ARC Copy received for Honest Review.

A great erotic novella by Megan. This Book Trailer certainly enticed me to wanting to read Eraser.
The story was quick and easy read in one sitting with a certain mystery behind the lead Male. We all greet with him know only as "Sir".
Who is this Man that visit the bar each Friday Night? It left me wanting to know more about him.
With a questioning and observant mind, Mackenzie knew what this mans intentions where when he approached her. All she could do when asked was say Yes.
Overall certain parts of the story was a little too much for myself however I proceeded on and enjoyed it.

A quick, erotic read. It could have been more, though, if drawn out, darker, more seductive, more descriptive. The romantic in me gobbled up the Epilogue, though, it really was a cop out. Okay, I'll admit this lunchtime reader liked it. I really do like the male POV, in general.

Note: The comma police are needed desperately! There are 10-15 commas missing.
