4.5 that-boy-is-a-hot-mess stars
Although the Love Inc. Series can be read as stand-alone novels, I think that if you are looking to read any of the books that starting at the beginning is best. You get to know a bit about each character in each book; not the secrets, but enough to give you a solid feel for them and it makes the storyline easier to read. Although Scarlett & Cross were tied much more closely in the story line than Marchant’s book – it sets the pace for the story and for the author’s style.
The start of this book spans a bit of the last two stories as we gain some traction as to how these two come together. We see the behind the scenes break up of Suri & Adam and her reactions to Cross as he suffers not only the accident that landed him in the coma, but his injuries after escaping Mexico.
Before Suri hops on the plane to El Paso for Cross, before she returns to the Ranch to witness the fire, she’s in Vegas. She’s drunk and face to face with a man that just beat the crap out of someone in front of her, she should be afraid – that would be a normal reaction, but instead she’s just a tad bit turned on. She knows of Marchant is, so you would think she would be able to recognize him as the man that has her hot and bothered in a public restroom in Las Vegas, but knowing how the man is and knowing him are really two different things.
Marchant is the playboy owner of the brothel, he has a reputation but he also has a past that not many know about. The way he is, who he is – can only cause pain to those around him, those that get too close. So he hides, his pain is his own burden but someone witnesses his destruction. Someone he wants but knows he can’t have. When Suri saves his life after the fire what happens next is going to change both their lives.
March is damaged goods, deliciously bruised and broken. So tragic that it makes your knees go weak. I did not expect his story to go in this direction but absolutely loved that it did. Once again, Ella James could have so easily taken the easy path of a man-whore that falls in love and changes everything... but she did not. The revelation about his issues comes later in the story, after you experience it at full force – but you don’t realize it as you read it the first time. It was brilliant. His character has morphed into so many different version throughout this series that by the time you see the real Marchant you are already a goner.
I wasn’t completely sold on Suri until this book. I was glad to see that although she had an issue to deal with, she was not riddled with baggage – March’s was enough for both of them.
The only thing that left me puzzled was the ending. I wanted so much more. I wanted an epilogue not just a promise of a novella that will complete their story. I understand that with the events that will bring Lizzy, Hunter, Cross & Merri back into the fold, that a novella was warranted; but I really wished we had a few more pages to give us more of just Marchant & Suri.
This series was my first Ella James experience and I am so glad I finally decided to start this series. Usually I take a short break between series books, but found that I just could not do this while reading Love Inc. Selling Scarlett remains my favorite of the series, but I think Marchant stole my heart.

This is my first Love Inc. novel But I read that you can in fact read them alone. The blurb looked awesome.My issue is that the book felt so fast paced that I never actually was able to know the characters. Marchant was dark, yes but it was a confusing dark. Ultimatly I wanted to just yell at the book to slow down and let me process everything that was going on.I understand that Marchant was dealing with some harsh things but for myself It was confusing when he did not know who he was talking to half the time since he was supposed to be on medication.The hot scenes were just that HOT.But other than that the rest of the book was just confusing and too fast paced.I needed something to slow it down and let me be able to catch up with everything.

In case you're wondering if you need to read Love Inc in any kind of order, I'll tell you I read Selling Scarlett, skilled Taming Cross & read Unmaking Marchant and I didn't have any trouble following the story. I didn't skip Taming Cross for any specific reason, I just haven't gotten to reading it.
Unmaking Marchant was much hotter than Scarlett. I enjoyed Scarlett a lot, but I was looking for more sex. I got it in Marchant. Whew! There's something about him for sure. There's something off about him... just enough to be the perfect amount of enticing.
My only complaint would be the end felt rushed and... it's a cliffhanger! I didn't see that coming. The end of the book advises a novella is coming. I'm not sure if the novella wraps up all 3 books or just this one, because there were issues left hanging in this book from books 1 and 2. Also, I'm not sure how this story will wrap up in just a novella. It feels like an entire second book is necessary based on where the plot was left with this one. I could definitely read an entire second book. I want to know a lot more about Suri & Marchant. He's got a mysterious past to wrap up & she's got some fertility issues that I really really hope result in an oops baby. I freaking love the oops babies.
The cliffhanger isn't horrible & I think the novella is due out in April, so depending on your sensitivity to cliff's you can go ahead and read this book now.

Having a hard time writing this review because I'm just not sure how I feel about the book. I will start by saying I enjoyed Marchant and Suri's relationship. Even though it was quick it didn't have the insta-love feel that a lot of books have. And I have to give Mrs. James credit for doing a good job with Marchant's mental health issues.
That being said I have an issue with the beginning and the end of this story. The beginning was so frenzied and disjointed that I had a hard time keeping up. One minute Marchant is on his way to a card tournament with a gun in his pocket and then he's making out with Suri in the bathroom after she is being chased by someone who may or may not want to kidnap her?!? Then he shoots a guy in the foot just outside the casino (where I'm sure there are cameras) then just walks away and no one ever questions him about this?
And then there is the end of the story. All of the sudden there is a stalker, dead cats and two minutes after he tells her to leave they are making declarations of love and going to a wedding together. Oh and the stalker/attacker is Marchant's ex who I thought was dead. She only wanted to talk to him for part of her 12 step program but some how she ends up killing cats and attacking people! And if the nut job ex has been caught then who is outside the window?
I will probably read the upcoming novella but I really hope it answers some questions!

I'm ticked. Ms. James takes the first part of this book and drags the story out for too long. It shouldn't take half a book to set up their story. The second half I found to be really good until.... a cliffhanger???? With their story being continued in a novella??? This ticks me off. We should have received their complete story in this one book. No novella should be needed. What a rip off!!!!

First of all, I love Love Incs. series and Book 1 Selling Scarlett shall remain my favorite of all three, Book 2 Taming Cross a close second and Unmaking Marchant came in last. I'm sorry, Marchant. I still thinks Ella James gave us three really amazing books with fresh story-lines despite all of them revolving around the brothel, Love Inc.
I met Marchant since Book 1. He is Hunter's bff and the owner of two brothels in Vegas. He came off as the affable Super Pimp with all his suave, really classy. I even heard he loves orgies. But thank God that was not being explore here.
"Why can't I just be a whore? Why do you have to distinguish me as a man-whore?"
Then we have Suri, who is Lizzy's bff, also someone we know really well since beginning of the series. Honestly, I didn't really like her because she practically threw herself to Cross, while he was down and vulnerable. Come on, girl. Have some self-respect, would ya?
I'm caught off guard by Marchant's past and his state of mind. He looked so put together when I met him previously. I had no idea he was harboring some secret past of his own, he felt truly ashamed, disgusted with himself and his state of mind was totally messed up. I think Ella James have a knack of writing about vulnerable heroes that you just can't help but wanted to save them. Hunter, Cross and Marchant were very different, but obviously have this same trait of being emotionally scarred.
Suri managed to grow on me this time. She is trying to move on from her previous relationship and her silly crush on Cross. She finally decided to enjoy her life and having a fling with the Super Pimp might not be in the agenda, but he was simply irresistible. When she realized that Marchant sometimes behave erratically, she thought he was an addict and wonder why did she always going for these self-destructive man. What came next was how she came to care for this broken man despite his obvious reluctance to be close with her.
I think the reason why I didn't love Marchant and Suri's romance as much as its predecessor was that we spent too much time reflecting on things that already happened in the past.
Like for example, we got to see how Suri broke up with her fiance, who happened to be her boyfriend since high school. Thank God we skip the part where she tried to make a move on Cross. Then we also spent quite some time to have Suri's POV during the event with Cross and Merri and then we still have to catch up with Hunter and Lizzy. It was simply too many things that we have to go through before we get to Marchant and Suri's blooming romance.
The good thing was I really love catching up with the previous couples. But the bad thing was that Marchant and Suri's romance didn't have enough page time for me to truly fell for them. Ella James promised us a novella to give us an epilogue for Marchant and Suri and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

From Me: 3.5 stars Okay, now this is a book I enjoyed! Marchant is MESSED up, Suri is a great friend to many who get to know her. She is kind and patient to Marchant in a way no one else has ever been and never gives up or loses that patience with him. My only complaint, CLIFF??? Even if it was soft, you are left needing to find out what the hell will happen because the "situation" is not resolved. The author tells me the next installment is April.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?
Unmaking Marchant is the third book in the Love Inc series by Ella James. I would recommend reading the previous two books in this series before reading this one. You don't have to read this series in order, but I think it all ties together better, and we're also kept up to date on the characters who were the focus of the last two books. We are given both Suri and Marchant's perspectives. This was really beneficial, because it gave you a good look at where they were mentally and emotionally. Who knew Marchant had so much baggage? I'm so glad we're finally getting Suri's story too. She's got more hidden under the surface as well. Just when you think it's safe.. Bam!

Ive been waiting for this book to come out for a while as I have read the other two love inc. novels and wanted to find out more about Marchant. he's such an interesting character and the love story between him and Suri is sweet and believable. I like the authors style - it is easy to read and her dialogue seems natural. The only thing I wasnt so keen on was seeing the same scene from both sides - it was like repeatedly rewinding the book and reviewing the same content. I dont mind changing perspective - in fact and change of POV can help you understand the characters more, but keep the story moving. Also, I felt that the book ended very abruptly. Less of a cliff hanger and more of an emergency stop. I will buy the next one though and this was and okay read - well worth the 77p I paid for it!

I give this whole series 3 stars because it's not finished, so I'll give it the middle of the road. Even though each of the 3 books are a HEA story upon their own, they are all parts of the whole, which is unfinished. The last book, Unmaking Marchant ends on a cliffhanger of sorts with a main story plot (an ex) unresolved. There was supposed to be a novella "Something Blue" to tie everything up but the author explained that a glitch happened when uploading it and she didn't have the final draft backed up and doesn't have time to redo it. So unless you love cliffhangers with no answers in sight, I'd suggest skipping the series and checking back later but if you're ok with it, the stories are good, the characters and premise are developed and really draw you in to the Love, Inc world but again, you'll have to imagine your own ending for the time being.

The book was a decent read but the pacing seemed inconsistent. I didn't see depth in character development. Marchant was not a very likeable MC. The most memorable thing about him was his unstable emotional nature. The way he and Suri meet is pretty hot and the love scenes are written well.

Another cliffhanger
The book is okay and has potential. Suspenseful and lots of drama but it’s just another cliffhanger. I try hard to avoid those books but this one snuck up on me. I read the other two books that goes first and expected this one to have an ending also but it leaves you hanging. Disappointing and will try to avoid her from now on.

Letting go and being you
Marchant is the owner of lovers inc. And for a long time he was able to hide his secret but lately he hasn't and in the mean time someone is after him. When he meets Suri they both are just having fun but it turns into true feelings when her life is in danger.

I will have to say that I love Ella James.... This book was another awesome tale of two more of her characters in the Love Inc. saga. I can't wait until Something Blue comes out so I can continue to find out what happens next!!!

I cannot abide a cliffhanger.
Cliffhanger ending, like for real. And who knows when the next book will come out. So, I hate that.
Overall the book wasn't bad; plot had some good action and the two main characters had some interesting depth to them. And they had good chemistry.

Love the whole series but it ends on a cliffhanger & there’s no follow up book. I bought all 3 audiobooks but I’m left with so many questions. Extremely disappointed with the ending & all the unanswered questions

I think this is my favorite in the series. So emotionally gripping. It's killing me to have to wait for

I wished I was warned...
I wish someone would have warned me not to waste my time on this. It ends on a CLIFFHANGER. But that's not the problem. The problem is that the author "released" a novella with the ending, but then decided to remove it from Amazon, and apparently has no plans to release it again. So if you wasted your time reading this, you are out of luck, because you won't get an ending.
I'm sorry but I feel like this is incredibly disrespectful to the readers!! She has no regards for the people who took the time to read this book. This is a big F***YOU to the readers and I will NEVER read another book from her again. What a disappointment!!

I’ve glimpsed the guy at a party or two, and he always seems so…pimpish. Don’t get me wrong:
He’s got amazing clothes, and from what little I’ve seen of him, he’s not hard on the eyes—wild, brownblond-red hair he wears kind of spiky, and a sexy beard—but he’s got a certain swagger I just can’t tolerate. Like he has sex with a different woman every night and he’s just so…proud of himself. Like he owns two huge brothels, filled with women willing to satisfy any man’s sex fantasies.

It seems like forever since I read the first two books in this series, and I've been waiting patiently for Marchants story to hit the shelves. When Ella James posted on facebook that she had pressed "Publish" at Amazon. I was on there every half hour looking for it! It took hours!!! But eventually I got it.
But tell me ELLA!!!!!
How could you do that????
I was reading and watching the page count go up, UP, UP and suddenly I thought, OMG!
How is she going to finish this in just a few pages, there's so much story left to tell.

I am SO going to read the first two again, very soon. I wanted to pick them both up while reading this. I love how they overlap, picking up the story from different angles. This book is no different in the way the story is told, Marchant gets the opening words this time, with the prologue being his,be careful to note the date, chapter 1 is all Suri's.
We get a really good look at just how tortured Marchant is in his story, and what a really wonderful beautiful person Suri is. They are definitely made for each other,complementing each other perfectly it just takes our man Marchant a while to see it. He has such a bad habit of running away when things get to tough for him to handle. I couldn't believe how well Suri handled his mood swings, she was so tuned into him, and had him well and truly sussed, while he thought he was still kidding her along.
This was a great read from a still new to me author, and I can only thank the heavens that I picked up Saving Scarlett for free on Amazon!
Ella is an exceptional writer, and I'm impressed with how she has interwoven, not only the main characters, but the complete story.
She doesn't miss a beat!

This was an interesting steamy read. Suri is a smart woman engaged to an abusive alcoholic, Adam. He's the only man she's ever been with--they are high school sweethearts, but Adam's continued alcoholism is a major stumbling block to their relationship. One night he's way-too-handsy and ends up hurting Suri--which sends Suri from her Napa estate to Vegas to meet up with her BFF, Lizzy.
Lizzy is engaged to a billionaire, and has friends in quite low places: particularly a high-class brothel, owned by Marchant. Suri's woefully prudish, perhaps, but she's not interested in anything to do with a pimp. Well, at least not until Marchant ends up (inadvertently) saving her from an assailant and they have a brief tryst--Suri's first-ever anonymous hook-up. She's rather mortified to discover Mr. Love Inc is the sex-god who drew out her elusive orgasm like a bee finds pollen.
Still, there's something vulnerable about Marchant, and Suri's the Patron Saint of Lost Men, or something. She can tell Marchant is messed up, but she thinks he's on drugs (Spoiler: yep) but that's only a small part of the story. He suffers bipolar disorder and is on a mania high when they first meet, which later collapses into suicidal depression.
So, Marchant saved her, and she returns the favor. These two have a magnetic attraction--even before Marchant seeks treatment for his illness. He blames himself for ruining a good woman years before and doesn't want Suri (or any woman) to get her heart broken. Guess what, Marchant? YOU are not the boss of WOMANKIND. We will have a broken heart if we WANT one, dangit!
Expect sex. Lots of it. Expect some brief domestic violence, and some drawn-out mania and many many bad decisions. It takes Marchant a LONG time to reveal his dark secret, but the end comes quickly after that--though this book ends with a cliffhanger.

This is the third installment of the Love Inc., series. Unmaking Marchant is a story of a handsome, dark owner of an exclusive brothel in Las Vegas, Marchant Radcliffe. He's been gambling and amassed a large gambling debt. Suri Dalton decides to go to Las Vegas to visit her best friend Lizzy. It sounds like a good idea to help get her mind off her recent break-up. Suri and Marchant's path cross and it is an emotional roller coaster ride all the way. Marchant is hiding a deep secret and Suri desperately wants to know what is tearing him apart. He seems all wrong for her but she can't stay away. This is probably the most emotional of the series. The demons that Marchant is trying to hide from are heartbreaking. I really loved the way Suri's vulnerability seems to be exactly what Marchant needs. I can't think of a better character development. The vulnerabilities and flaws of both characters managed to blend perfectly to make their romance work exceptionally well. My heart broke for them both. The passion and intensity was overwhelming. I was so drawn to them both. The only thing that took away, were the typographical errors. Sometimes I had to read a paragraph over a few times because the wrong character name was used and it was a little confusing. That took away from the flow of the story but otherwise it was great.

I really enjoy Ella James style. My favorite so far has been Selling Scarlett. Cross not as much. Writing is solid although this plotline seemed a bit fractured more to make all fans happy and less to keep the plot consistent and on track. Maybe it was me. Not as much action in this one which was a nice break as it was quite crazy in the last book. This was more of an emotional rollercoaster.
I've liked Suri's character from the beginning. A bit damaged but a good heart. Marchant I knew had some sort of deep dark past but after reading UM, although I feel for his character even more, I now have less respect for Suri for staying around being treated the way she was by him (until she found out why). Call me heartless but he was very cruel multiple times and she just kept coming back. Because she was DRAWN to him? Really? Not enough for me to be victimized. I was very frustrated by her actions and was very disappointed in her, especially after escaping Adam and HIS behavior. She was steadfast when handing him his ring when he drank after he said he wouldn't and hit her. Done. Here's the ring back. But abuse from Marchant is ok? And that whole Tabletop Book idea that he stole with the book signing that he developed and published? See above fractured plotline? A Marchant led lawsuit would have been nice, but nothing.
Once things are a bit out in the open with Marchant, Suri is a ray of sunshine. She really is. He's just...well...we're back to the martyr stuff again as with book 2 and Merri. Poor pity me. I'm so bad. I can't have her around, bad things happen. Move on! And they do.
