Angry Blonde is a New Adult contemporary novel about one girl and the struggles she faces to find herself. I was so lucky to read this book before anyone else. Maria's characters are very real and have flaws, just like real people would. When the characters do something stupid, you find yourself yelling at them, when they're upset you're upset.
I don't really read much contemporary because I have this weird thing where I think it's going to be boring just because it's about "normal" people. Maria has me re-thinking the whole genre.
I loved the plot of this book, how there are bits and pieces of Wylie's past life you have to piece together in order to understand her present life and choices. I also love the style in which this was written. It had me making time to read it.
I can't wait to read whatever is coming next from this author. <3

This is an extremely well written story about a teenager with a completely dysfunctional family repeating history with drug use & trafficking. Wylie struggles to find her own way adding in pregnancy to this mix. This story is sad, hopeful, loving, and inspiring. Totally satisfying to read. I recommend this book to all ages. Great read!

With realistic, life-like characters, this book engages you from the start. The author makes you feel like you are right their with the characters.

An exciting plot that makes you think and piece together Wylie's past to understand her current and future choices. This is not like any other contemporary romance that I have read before.

They say history repeats itself, and it certainly holds true for Samantha "Wylie" Szabo. Maybe it's a self-fulfilling prophecy, but she finds herself repeating her parents mistakes in spite of the fact that logic should lead her in the other direction. Will she realize the error of her ways before it's too late?

This book took me a while to get into and I could honestly do without the first twenty percent of it. For me it just moved slow and I don't find it all that interesting to read about teenagers getting drunk and high all the time, and that comprises the bulk of the first 20% of this book. However, I'm glad that I received a copy of this book to review because it meant that I didn't have the option of just quitting. I know you're thinking, "Why would you be glad that you couldn't stop reading when at 20% you thought it was basically awful?" Because after that point, it became kind of awesome.

I was still not particularly interested in the topics broached, but it got exciting and stayed that way. I felt more like I was in Wylie's shoes, wondering if I was doomed to repeat my parents mistakes, upset about our fights, guilty over my mistake. And I was definitely scared to death a time or two.

I thought it was weird how these kids talk about the different boroughs of New York as if they were separate countries, not all part of the same city. But I've never lived in New York or really any place like it, so I can't say that kids there don't really talk and feel that way. It was quite weird for this small town girl from Kansas to try and wrap my head around that kind of distinction, but by the end of the book I was dreading the trip from Brooklyn to Staten Island almost as much as Samantha.

Overall I give this book 3.5 out of 5 stars because there were a few too many typographical/grammatical errors to escape notice and it did take me so long to get into the book. I think a younger reader might find it more enjoyable sooner and I would have no problem with my children reading this book as teenagers.

When I first read the description of ‘Angry Blonde’ I was immediately interested. This book sounded like my kind of story. I finished this book while I was lying on the beautiful beach in Mexico and I’m so glad Maria Mroziuk approached me for a review of this book.

In ‘Angry Blonde’ we follow the story of Wylie, AKA Samantha. Wylie is a 17 year old girl who had/has a rough life. Nothing in Wylie’s life goes the right way. Her dad isn’t around, her mother doesn’t care and Wylie’s grandmother forgets stuff all the time. When Wylie meets 21 year old Patrick, her life changes forever. Soon Wylie experiences life in a whole different way. And soon she is in over her head.

What I really liked about ‘Angry Blonde’ was the beginning. Right from the first page on, you are warned that this isn’t a ‘happy’ book. There is a lot of bad things, drugs and a lot of tears going on. But that doesn’t mean this book isn’t good. No not at all. I really liked this book. I loved the roughness and the purity in this book. It’s not about a perfect life, but that made it an even greater book for me.

The character I liked the most was definitely Wylie. She made the best of her life even though she never really knew love. I loved how she came to her nickname ‘Wylie’ and that she kept it.
I loved that she didn’t choose the thing I would choose. And I really liked the way Wylie worked her life out in the end. Not perfect! But she made a great start.

I really would recommend this story to every reader out there. This story is not about a perfect life ( there are more of enough books about perfect life’s out there) but that makes this a great book.

I enjoyed this book and had tears rolling down my cheeks by the time I was through.

It didn’t start that way for me though… to me, Part I: Wylie vs. Samantha, drug on yet was lacking in some area. By the time I got to Part II though i really began to enjoy the story more.

I’m typically not a YA reader because I don’t feel a connection with the characters. Wylie had to grow up fast towards the end of the book and make some tough decisions. I really admired that about her character.

There is a lot of drug use in this book and there is no HEA, but it was definitely a good read.
