Book 3 in the Deadly Ever After series, I found this book good but not as good as the first two books, its was still full of twists and turns, but I just felt it lacked the energy from the first two books and seem to lead up to things and then disappoint.
We follow Cinna with her plan to try and start a war, but soon she gets what she wants but it doesn't last long as it seems Johann and Ingrid plans to stop her take effect and soon Cinna is just where the want her, so she needs to reveal herself to Hans, but she has a plan which Hans seems to go along with, even though he isn't happy, when all the rulers meet it seems Cinna plan works but then they are attacked and Cinna is once again a pawn piece to be controlled, but Cinna doesn't do being controlled so once again comes up with a plan, this time containing Johann as a some what equal to take down the "enemies"
With how this book end it felt very lacking and even makes me wonder is there going to be a fourth book or is this it?. As I said it just seems to lack a solid ending and seems to be more polities and talks as such compared to the adventure, mystery and suspense from the first books. I still enjoyed it though to see what would be the outcome for Cinna and see where it lead. Just wish it had that spark from the first 2.
