Start with a bang and then BOOM....

Who ever describd. this book As a short story was not kidding. I have read five of the Callahan Garrity books and all three of the Weezie series I truly enjoyed each of them. However this one is in no way of comparable quality or enjoyment. It starts off with a bang in MDA's style of humor and intrigue but this one Has turned out to be a real disappointment. Because after a great start it SUDDENLY ends, Leaving me (the reader) wondering whatever happened to the old woman and all of her jewelry. Maybe this is a mystery not only of what happened in the story, but how is it that the quality of writing that I had become accustomed to and thoroughly enjoyed in all prior books has in this novel seriously plummeted--
Perhaps this is A mystery that Callahan Garrity needs to solve.

Another short story with Callahan Garrity. This has one of Edna's friends that lives in a bad part of town that has some fabulous jewelry. The friend is murdered and the jewelry is gone and Callahan is on the case.

How did this book find me? It is the finale to the Callahan series.

Love this short story but there was so much potential for a great book here. Where the family jewels were kept was kinda funny.

Short story

I find my problem with short stories like this is they just are so rushed. A whole mystery in 16 pages just doesn’t work.

As ot said this was a very short story. Was not long enough to get into it. Would have been great as a novel with more details, twists & turns.

A light read - enjoyable, but not consuming.

A Very Short Story

Absolutely excellent writing but isn't longer than a chapter. I wish I had realized how short the story was! I do love the author...she's excellent.

This was a fun shirt read. It was easy to figure out, but that's okay with this one. The thrill was in the catch more than the mystery of who did it.

This is the best of Mary Kay Andrews short stories. Didn't see it coming until it was there. Now into other reads!

Disappointing

I've enjoyed Andrews work and spent many happy hours with her. This one is not her best😤😤 I'll continue to be a fan of course.
