In this short story by New York Times best-selling author Mary Kay Andrews, Atlanta private investigator/cleaning business owner Callahan Garrity knows there’s something fishy when 70-year-old Miss Loudene Jenkins is found dead by the old mill, and the 1920s costume jewelry she loved showing off is nowhere to be found.

Who ever describd. this book As a short story was not kidding. I have read five of the Callahan Garrity books and all three of the Weezie series I truly enjoyed each of them. However this one is in no way of comparable quality or enjoyment. It starts off with a bang in MDA's style of humor and intrigue but this one Has turned out to be a real disappointment. Because after a great start it SUDDENLY ends, Leaving me (the reader) wondering whatever happened to the old woman and all of her jewelry. Maybe this is a mystery not only of what happened in the story, but how is it that the quality of writing that I had become accustomed to and thoroughly enjoyed in all prior books has in this novel seriously plummeted-- Perhaps this is A mystery that Callahan Garrity needs to solve.
Another short story with Callahan Garrity. This has one of Edna's friends that lives in a bad part of town that has some fabulous jewelry. The friend is murdered and the jewelry is gone and Callahan is on the case.
How did this book find me? It is the finale to the Callahan series.
Mary Kay Andrews is a terrific writer. She always makes he novels upbeat and exciting. I can't wait to read others by her. Thank you for the good story and quick read.
