The name Spring Forest Qigong is very meaningful. Imagine a forest in springtime. Spring is the season of awakening from the cold, dormant period of winter, a time of new life and rebirth. A forest is a beautiful place with trees, other plants and many animals, a natural haven where diverse living things thrive in harmony.
However, one tree does not make a forest. A forest is alive with many, many trees. This is how I see Spring Forest Qigong. It offers everyone a simple yet very powerful way to awaken their natural healing ability. But is in not just one way, one tree standing alone. Spring Forest Qigong works in harmony with other practitioners of all kinds who use their techniques to help people to become free of pain and sickness and to live the richest, most rewarding life possible.
Throughout this manual you will find the exercises and meditations of Spring Forest Qigong Level One. Each exercise includes a section that describes the purpose of that movement or meditation, the benefit you can receive and a detailed description so you can get started right away.
Took me some time to get through this book. It was not only a book, but has a DVD of Qigong exercises and a CD. The exercises are easy and I have done them all several times, and will continue to do so for my health. Just follow along with the DVD.
SFQ works for me and this book has helped me do more on my own. There is really only one "movement" that isn't described well enough in the book, but I guess live classes are better.
This introduction to Qi Gong is easy to understand and explains the benefits of practicing it in full detail. The exercises and relaxing and easy for anyone to complete.
