She broke his heart all those years ago when she had to return to her home. He has never loved again. Now she is back in his life again, and she needs his protection once again.
Princess Ariella has traveled to the United States with her father and the FBI is providing protection for them. Patrick Kent is the agent assigned to protect Ariella. He broke the first rule of protecting an asset when he fell in love with her. When someone bombs their palace and chaos has erupted in their homeland, Ariella and her father have to go back home. Fast forward nine plus years later and her father has requested protection for Ariella once again. This time Patrick works for Shining Knight Protective Services. He has been assigned to protect her once again, but this time she has a son who needs protection as well. He is conflicted as to whether he can do this protection detail, but his innate need to protect those who need protecting helps him overcome his personal feelings.
This was such a heartwarming romance filled with suspense, danger and lots of secrets. The characters in this book, and apparently in this series, are so incredibly likable. They are relatable, and their banter back and forth adds more to the story, making it even more enjoyable to read. There were even some funny moments mixed into the story. I loved her son, Alex. It was so much fun seeing the world through the eyes of a child when they arrived at the safe house. He lived to enjoy life to its fullest. The mystery aspect of this book was very interesting as you are led down a path to see who wants to harm Ariella. Family relationships are highlighted in this book, along with the importance of leaning on faith to bring you through those hard times. This was my first book from this author, but I will be reading more soon.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This novel got off to a bit of a rough start for me as I thought there was initial infidelity. This proved to not be the case as the full facts were revealed later on. It made me feel uneasy for the early part of the novel, however. Also, that Patrick, an FBI agent, would so quickly become romantically involved with the woman he was assigned to protect did not seem right, certainly something the FBI would not condone. While he resigned his position later and joined a private firm, he must have violated some FBI ethics rule.
Love's writing style is generally easy to read. She does switch viewpoints as we alternately see action from Patrick's and Ariella's first person accounts. While the viewpoint is clearly identified at the beginning of each chapter, if my reading was interrupted mid-chapter, it would take me a while to get back to the proper viewpoint. Because of that, this writing technique is not my favorite style of plot progression.
Once I got into the story, past the initial infidelity concern, what was happening became more clear and I enjoyed the story. Much of the plot is revealed in the book's description but there is still some good suspense that happens.
This is the first book I have read by Love and I like that she gets readers quite involved in the characters' lives. Now that I know some of the Shining Knight Protectors I will be watching for more in this series.
I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Book Sirens. My comments are an independent and honest review.
OMG! This book was awesome. It is the second book in the spinoff series from Love's Matchmaker books and she has another winning streak going. Patrick has been the lone wolf for the duration (think back to Ethan & Amelia's book guys). He is completely devoted to his job, always giving 100% and happy for others success, in both life and love. It's about time for him to find his.
There was a time he apparently had it, and lost it. Ariella was her name. Would she grace his path again? She did, while he was married to Savannah! Ariella, and her son Alex, need protection, and Shining Knight - aka Patrick - get the job. Oh boy! How does she explain ghosting him, eloping, having a son, and then daring to call on HIM to protect them!! This ought to be good folks.
Grab your copy and cozy up to find out all the juicy details as the Knights travel with their charges to Patrick's parents ranch (a safe house for SK). You'll love Charle and Don (Patrick's parents) as they join Patrick, Savannah, Jesse and Jerry of Shining Knight in keeping little Alex and Ariella harm free.
I received a gift copy of this book and volunteered my review. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
I read book 3 in this series before reading this one. I didn't feel like I was missing anything and felt they could be read out of order and still be able to understanding the characters in the Shining Knight Protectors agency.
In this story, Princess Ariella is from a European country. Almost 10 years earlier, she was being protected by Patrick Kent, an FBI agent, who was tasking with providing security detail for her. They fell in love and then she returned home when there was a bombing in her country and didn't return as she had promised. Instead she married the man she had long known she had been arranged to marry.
Now, there has been an assassination attempt on she and her son and they need to disappear for a while until this is all sorted out. Her father, the former King, arranges for Patrick Kent to be her protector. Little does she know but she will be returning with a giant secret to share with the only man she has ever loved. Will there be more heartbreak for them both or will they be able to find their happy ending?
This book has suspense, drama, lots of romance and an adorable boy, too. It has a Christian element without being preachy. I was given arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I think I lost count of the tropes in this book, and they all played together in a most entertaining fashion. It is always great to see prior characters return for a visit, and there we are e plenty of old friends stopping by.
The author did an excellent job with a royal romance, secret baby romance, secret wedding romance, and single mom romance all in the main characters' relationship. I really liked the way the royals were depicted as hard working, generally down to earth people who sincerely care about the population under their rule and want the best for them all.
The good guys, other than the Shining Knight team, were well camouflaged. When strange men popped up, we were never quite certain who had hired them and what the motivations were. And the actual bad guy was someone I never saw coming, didn't even have on my radar.
I reccomend this clean, royal, single mom, secret wedding, secret baby, romantic suspense. You will love it as much as I did.
I received a free advance copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
I like and love the book, but you really should read the first book.
It can be read as standalone, but the first part may be a little confused. After that story is fine by itself. The author do warn you this why it 5 stars. Plus it's good book to read.
I really like this book, because their are mysteries and you may figure it out between Patrick and Ari.
This story will keep you on your toes and you will keep trying guess to solve it problem until hit you in the face.
You're almost feel like you're a detective trying figure out the mysteries of the story and trying figure out the criminal. Once you figure it out you will love it and other part will be sad.
There are Action pacts in this story and fighting and protection of people. I love that it is Christian, Action and Mystery book.
You will fall in love with each characters and you will try understand and figure out some of the characters background on the MC team.
Must read! OMG 😱 absolutely loved this book. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. It was a quick read and it was addicted. Ariella and Patrick the chemistry and physical attraction between them was literally on the charts. The temptation was so strong they couldn’t resist the urge to be together. They were afraid that someone would have found out about their relationship since he was FBI agent and she was protecting her from danger. I absolutely loved it! I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Another great read in this series. There was a lot of suspense and drama with this book. Loved main characters in this story as well, Patrick and Ariella the main couple with Alex, their adorable and charismatic 8 year old son and with their parents along with the rest of the Knight Protector team.
The suspense over Ariella's kingdom, Cothena's, attacks, rebeliion and issues with Brachha had me at the end of my seat until the very end. Madison ended this book with well thought out ending and left no questions as to how all ended for the main characters, especially the monarchy of Cothena and Brachha.

I’ll admit to being enamored by stories involving former military turned private security personnel. I’m really enjoying Madison Love’s Shining Knight Protectors series. In this case, the author isn’t the only one good at keeping a secret, so are our main characters. I fell in love with Patrick in the previous book and I was correct in doing so. He proves to be a more than capable protector and keeper of secrets. We get a story filled with strong characters, heartbreaking romance, humor, danger, and an ending you won’t have seen coming. All adding up to a compelling storyline. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us next.
One of Patrick's first assignments is to be the bodyguard for a princess Ariella, for a month. His first thoughts that he will be babysitting a spoiled brat, what he gets is nothing like that. When they realize that what they feel is very much real, they do something that results in a big surprise years later. When she shows up with her son and "husband" asking for protection form the only man that she know can keep her safe. What will happen when the truth of what happened all those years ago comes out in the open.

Firstly, besides the author, the cover by Getcovers.com is perfect for this story. It portrays the regal postures of royalty, seriousness of protection and investigation as well as the depiction of Patrick and Ariella - well chosen. Almost a decade after the two first met, Ariella needs the protection from Shining Knight Protection on the insistence of her father. Things aren't what they seem and the culprit revealed at the end, is definitely not whom I expected. It is always a pleasure to read from this author and find inspiration in the words she quotes. I received a book from BookSirens Reviews and, as always, it is a pleasure to provide my honest and voluntary review.
I didn’t care for the writing style and flow of the prologue, in fact, I almost didn’t want to continue the book. But! I’m so glad I did. We switch to dual perspective for our chapters and the flow was much better. We were in the story rather than a recap feel. I enjoyed this second chance romantic suspense. The kid aspect was fun. He’s a handful! This is my first from this author and it was a sweet Christian read. I’d read more from her.

Princess Ariella is excited to visit the United States with her father, King Caras. The FBI provides agents as security to cover the King and Princess. Agent Kent, Patrick, and Ariella pose as a couple. Ariella and Patrick got married in the Bahamas. However, a bomb explosion in the castle forced Ariella to travel back home. After nine and a half years and having a child, Ariella returns to the US. She now must explain to Patrick why she stayed away all this time. This story has lots of action and romance, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.
Oh, my goodness! There is so much going on in this story! Love, intrigue, secrets, potential war - it was hard putting this book down! Ariella, Patrick, and Alex were a story unto themselves. Add in the rest of the efficient Knight protectors and family members and friends, and it's fun and frantic all at the same time. There are so many twists and turns and surprises in this story that it was hard to figure out who the real villain was. Thankfully, there is a happy ending for almost all.
Ariella and Patrick meet and fall in love when he was working with the FBI and she was traveling with her dad. Unfortunately, she was betrothed to someone else. He's devastated when he hears she eloped. Now she's back with a son needing protection. When Ariella sees Patrick he's wearing a wedding band. But things are not what they appear. Why is she in danger? Who's after her? What secrets are revealed?.
I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
I loved this book!! The underlying faith in God was just enough that I believed in the characters. The storyline left me on the edge of my seat at times and was totally unpredictable. I won’t spoil the ending but this book will not leave you disappointed but wanting to read more from this author. Well worth reading! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
His protection was a special for this meeting. Her father, the King, wanted her safe while he was busy with meetings. Being an adult she wasn't happy , until she saw her assigned agent. The events, drama, series of adventures and complications draw one into their story. Who was trying to kill her and her son? What had happened between the years of separation? How would Shining Knight protect them? Great story which engages the reader.
Good: This was an enjoyable Christian romantic suspense novel. I liked that there was plenty of action and the pacing was good. Interspersed with this was interesting dialogue and a sweet, second chance romance. One thing I found off-putting however was the books front cover, which was clearly AI generated and looked very fake. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
I am thrilled to find this Christian author who is relatively new to me. This is the second book I have read by her and it was just as thrilling, suspenseful, and funny as the previous book. This is Patrick Kent and Princess Arielle’s story. The twists and turns and surprises revealed throughout the book as well as the cuteness of a precocious child makes the book that much better. My advice is to read this book!
The Shining Knight have a task set before them, Asked to protect the sister of the King and her son bring shock to Patrick when he realizes who she is. There plenty of surprises and twists that you want to keep reading.

I enjoyed this sweet 2nd chance love that brought lots of action & banter. Alex most definitely stole the limelight with his cheerful disposition. Madison crafted both Pat & Ari's character wonderfully. Pat's parents are characters i immensely enjoyed too. Suspense, romance & faith will bring enjoyment in this book. Read it! Honor Bound is book 2 in the Shining Knight Protectors by Madison Love. I thought that this mystery/thriller was an outstanding story. The protection is Princess Ariella and het son, Prince Alex. There is danger at every turn, betrayal, violence and of course… Love. I think that this is a fantastic series. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Very good read. Love the characters and story lines in this series. It is definitely better to read this in order since stories do intertwine. Lots of action and lots of twists in the stories. Highly recommend reading.

This book is one you should read to start your day off on the right foot. This is a really fun book that has some of the best suspense added to it to make you keep going forward until you reach the end. This book doesn't have any sizzle to it but it definetly has the romance a sweetness you want to read about.
There were so many things that I loved about this book. There is definitely suspense, humor, finding forgiveness, faith, and so much more. The Shining Knight Protector series has been amazing, with Ari and Patrick’s story keeping me glued to the pages from beginning to the very end.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I honestly didn’t think I could love this book as much as book one but I loved it even more. It was so incredibly good. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I especially enjoyed Patrick’s parents. Their dynamic added such a fun element to the story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Another page turner with lots of twists and turns. Plenty of action. Nice and clean. Love the faith aspects. The definition of a hero is excellent; as is the father's advice on power. The ending is very good too. The humour is a nice touch. I definitely recommend it.
Another good book in this series. Patrick has to protect Princess Ari and her son Alex from an unknown threat, with lots of possible suspects and some unexpected twists.
This was yet another nicely written romance in the series that follows the Shining Knight protectors. This story follows Patrick and his lost love Princess Ariella. The story has some touching moments and is a good read.
