NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Nelle you cant not leave "That Man" there....OMG my heart was in my mouth and I was shouting in my head...Noooo Blake please come to her rescue, along with "knee the shit head in the balls"
So those that know me well, know im a huge Nelle L'Amour fan, I think she is a great writer and her books always keep me entertained to the point I don't want to put them down, every book Nelle releases gets better and better and That Man does not disappoint.
Who ever came up with the idea to put this Box set together is a Author genius, and I grabbed it at the Bargain price of 78p but honestly If I had missed this price id of been happy to pay the full price of $9.99 its so worth it and great value for money....I just loved it so much.
Im now looking forward to the second part of That Man but at least I have the rest of the Box set to keep me going until its released.
This box set is filled to the brim of romantic comedy, some really funny and others just amusing. One thing that they have in common is that they will all keep you gripped and reading on. To give you an idea of what each of the books consists of I am going to list, review and rate them all individually.
Please note that there are still a couple that I have yet to read and I will update the review once these have been read.
Jenny Rockford, Secret Undercover Stripper by Aubrey Rose – 3 Stars
This is the first book in the set and I have to say it my least favourite of the bunch. I have read others by this author and enjoyed them but this just did not grip me, sorry! In it we have Jenny who has a disastrous track record with both men and jobs. On her way to an interview she is pulled over by police officer Greg Callagan. He is in actuality a detective and he asks for her help in an on-going case by requesting that she goes and works at a strip club as his informant. The story itself is good but I just did not like either of the leads. I did however fall a bit in love with Jenny’s elderly gran who likes watching porn in order to do research for her erotic novels, that she writes, yup, you read that right, a granny that writes porn!
Gents 4 Ladies by Dez Burke – 4 Stars
This is another author that I have read in the past and enjoyed and this book followed that trend. You have successful Tiana who is due to be attending her bosses wedding, alone. Although successful in all other aspects of her life she has been unsuccessful in her love life. After her friend, Alyssa recommends a male escort, Jordan, from an escort agencies website Tiana rings him up. However Jordan is not an escort but having an adventurous side decides to meet up with an ‘escort’ the woman on the other end of the phone. I loved the two characters and the supporting cast and boy were there some steamy scenes, fanning myself just remembering them!! The romance itself is great and the story one to keep you entertained. Great little read!
Shades of Pearl by Arianne Richmonde – 5 Stars
This is a series that I have heard great things about and in fact all the books are currently on my wish list. To put your mind at ease if you were not wanting to read the others the way this ends you would be easily able to read this as a stand alone. Pearl is an older lady, 40, and is looking to interview a brother and sister duo who have created an online dating site, HookedUp. Alexandre is 25, rich, gorgeous and French and his sister, Sophie, is 10 years older and a, to put it bluntly, a bitch. Peal and Alexandre enter into a relationship of sort with Pearl feeling that she is living up to her name (her surname is Robinson!). There are misunderstandings, bitchy interventions and steamy scenes all thrown in keeping you gripped. As I have said it can be read as a standalone due to the excellent ending but I for one will be reading the rest to see what transpires!!
Catch You If I Can by Marian Tee – 4 Stars
It truly pains me to say this being a HUGE fan of Ms Tee’s but I did not enjoy this book as much as all of her others. I am not sure why, it is a good read but I found it lacking her usual spark. In this we have Alex and Ianne who both love eachother but fail to tell eachother how they feel and wwith crossed wires after one conversation Alex ends up dating another woman, Danika Zelda Baudin, the popular girl to Ianne’s awkward computer loving persona. There are the usual misunderstandings between the pair and the intervention of Alex’s now ex-girlfriend Zelda. Both Zelda and Ianne are cheerleaders now and, with issues from Alex’s past relationship with Zelda, this ends up causing issues. There are comic moments with Ianne’s weak knees when Alex is around but the characters did not stay with me as much as Marian Tee’s other characters have in the past. My 4 stars would probably be a 5 if I was not comparing it to all of her other books but I can’t help doing so, sorry.
Dewitched: The Untold Story Of The Evil Queen by Nelle L’Amour writing as E.L Sarnoff
Truth or Dare by Adrianne Hunter – 4 Stars
Wendy Jackson used to be a big, shy girl in college. A big shy girl with a crush on one Michael Carter. Mike who is now incredibly wealth and with a crush on Wendy who is a DJ on Kiss FM, he has never met her (or so he thinks) but fantasises about her voice. When he is a bachelor up for auction at a charity event that Wendy is hosting he puts in a bid, on her behalf, prompting a date between the pair. I love this story and the chemistry and back story between the pair was a good one. A sweet read that will leave you with a good feeling at the end.
The Bounty Hunter and the Girl From The Coffee Shop by Terry Towers
Playing House by Abi Aiken
Sweet For You by Harper Ashe
That Man by Nelle L’Amour – 5 Stars
I have read another series by this author and loved it, in fact the characters from that series (Gloria’s Secret and Gloria’s Revenge) appear here. Jennifer on a dare by her friends at a club ends up, blindfolded making her way across the club kissing a complete stranger, and enjoying it! However Jennifer is engaged so when she walks into a meeting with her new boss, Blake, despite finding him attractive is loyal to her incredibly dull, cheapskate, passionless fiancé (can you tell I don’t like him). Blake on the other hand is hooked, she was the girl at the club who he kissed and can’t get out of his head. The two work together on a porn channel and the chemistry between the pair is undeniable. This is left on a cliffhanger ending and I for one will be reading the next book once it comes out. This is the gem of the collection from what I have read so far and is worth the price of the set on its own.
All in all this is another great box set by some fantastic authors. The stories are varied and each a page turner in its own right.5 stars due to the amount you get and the few hidden gems in here. Only one in collection that was not my thing. All in all a box set not to miss.
Please note I was given an ARC of this collection in exchange for an honest review.
Been on my TBR forever! I got this for the Marian Tee book, and it was fine. Turned out to be nothing special but it was fine. I skimmed a couple of other stories but didn’t really read them. I think this was a 99 cent special…
Love and Laughter: The Ultimate Romantic Comedy Boxed Set (10 Book Bundle) by Nelle L'Amour, Aubrey Rose , Dez Burke, Arianne Richmonde, Marian Tee, Adriana Hunter, Terry Towers, Abi Aiken, Harper Ashe, E. L. Sarnoff

PARTIAL REVIEW MORE TO COME!
Catch You if I Can by Marian Tee – Dual POV (Ianne & Alex) 4 stars Ianne and Alex have to be the most frustrating characters Marian has ever created and I love that because that means I care about them. Ianne and Alex are best friends who are in love with each other, but instead of admitting to each other there is a misunderstanding and they lose their friendship. A few years later, Ianne is at college and has decided to improve herself by being more outgoing and true to herself as well as forgetting about Alex. Alex, however, wants Ianne more than ever and wishes he never let their friendship go.
But Alex’s ex-girlfriend, Zelda, is not happy about Alex and Ianne’s relationship and sets some plans in motion. Can Alex and Ianne’s new relationship overcome Zelda’s plans? Can Alex overcome his insecurities? Will Ianne choose Alex over something she has passion for?
You know that moment when you need a date for your awful boss' wedding so you hire a male escort who turns out not to be a male escort, but goes along with it anyway until you find out the truth... Yeah I hate it when that happens too.
This story had some very awkward moments and I loved every minute of it. Jordan and Tiana were perfect for each other if they could just get over that pesky gigolo thing. Will Tiana allow herself to feel for the man she thinks is gigolo? Will Jordan tell her the truth? And who put up Jordan's profile on the Gents4Ladies website?
Playing House by Abi Aiken - Single POV (Lucy) 3.5 stars
This is my first book by Abi Aiken and I really enjoyed it. Lucy has a problem with men and trust issues because of her cheating ex. So naturally her best friend (and current roommate) decides that the perfect replacement roommate would be a gorgeous sweet man named Matt (her co-worker). After a few protests about Matt, Lucy allows him to move in and they develop a friendship of sorts. But nice friendly moments turn into steamy chemist moments and this is a big problem because Lucy doesn't want to want Matt and Matt has a sort of girlfriend.
The only thing about the book is I wanted to see more Matt and Lucy interaction; maybe a glimpse into their future and their relationship.
Sweet for You by Harper Ashe – Dual POV (Abby & Stephen) 4 stars
Abby and Stephen had to be one of the cutest couple I have ever met. It is refreshing to read about a sassy curvy woman who knows who she is and doesn’t worry about her weight. But what is also shocking, is finding a billionaire who is socially awkward (I loved this). Abby has everything Stephen needs to make his company’s new venture a success, but she also captured his interest as well as his heart. Can these two completely different find love? Is food the way to a …woman’s heart? Quick and sweet read!
That Man by Nelle L'Amour - Dual POV (Jennifer & Blake) 5 stars
Wow what can I say, but damn I need more now. That Man is a spin-off of Nelle's Gloria series and it features Jamie's friend, Blake. Blake is a manwhore who loves his lifestyle until one night he is kissed by a blindfolded beauty named Jennifer. Unfortunately, for Blake he lost Jennifer before he could get her name, but was pleased to find out later she was his new employee.
Jennifer was celebrating her engagement with her friends at a club when they decided to play truth or dare. Jennifer's dare was to kiss a stranger...blindfolded and because Jennifer is so drunk she goes along with it; unfortunately for Jennifer it's the best kiss she ever had, but the man disappeared before she could know who he was.
Blake has fallen head over heels for Jennifer (who isn't aware that it was Blake she kissed), but there is one little mini problem... Jennifer is engaged to Dr Bradley Dickwick...sorry I'm mean... Dr Bradley Wick who is a vegan dentist. Jennifer is stuck thinking about her feelings for Blake while Blake has decided to fight for Jennifer.
As we come to the end of the story Jennifer finds herself in a dangerous situation. Will she make it out unharmed? Will Blake come to her rescue? Can Blake save the woman he loves from a doomed engagement? Have to wait for next book to find out - MAJOR CLIFFHANGER!
Overall this is a great mix of novellas. Some have lots of heat some not so much. Jenny Rockfort, Gents 4 Ladies and Truth or Dare are my fave of this collection. I chose not to read 2 of the novellas since i had not interest. That Man started out great. I just wish i had known it was incomplete. Hopeing the rest of the trilogy is out soon.
Jenny Rockfort Secret Undercover Sripper This is cute and funny. Not so sure i'd call it much of a romance. I just didn't feel the chemistry between Jenny and Greg. I did however really like the story in every other way.
Gents4Ladies Wow...where to start. It's a cute plot. Jordan's profile is put up on a escort website without him knowing and then Tiana is pretty much directed by a friend to call him to escort her to a wedding. This book is HOT and STEAMY. Seriously pages and pages for the steamy scenes. It is written well. If you are just looking for lots of detailed sex, then this book is for you. If you want more plot and depth then skip it.
Shades of Pearl Not interested in reading this story
Catch Me if You Can This isn't bad it you are fine with reading high school/college romances. I'm in my mid thirties and reading (in detail) about 18 years old having sex really isn't appealing to me. Overall it was a cute story. I had to picture them much older. I didn't like the "he said, she said" and jumping to conclusions part of it. I prefer when adults are just honest and say what they feel. They are young loves in this book so I had to accept that they don't really do that. I was happy to see Alex and Ianne get together although he did seem somewhat possessive at times.
Dewitched Not interest in Sci-fi/Magical stuff.
Truth or Dare Enjoyable short read. ...
The Bounty Hunter and the Girl from the Coffee Shop Overall I really liked it but thought it was rushed at the end. It started out at a nice pace going day by day of their initial 4 days as be takes her back to Coloado. The first few days were great then the last couple days (then week) went by at hyperspeed. I realize it is a short story but to go from a slow pace to a fast paced made it seem very rushed at the end. The overall story was nice but i would have like more details at the end even if it made the story a bit longer. Playing House This definitely has some steam and i like both Mark and Lucy. Marks bluntness about his relationship with Gabs and Lucy crazy OCD habits did add some humor to the story. I did feel that it lacked some closure around Toni's involvement with trying to be the "matchmaker". You get the since she had it all planned but then you get a hint that Mark has liked Lucy for more then be leads on. I would have like a little more detail about how it all came together. Overall a fun steamy short read.
Sweet For You Very cute and fun but fast paced (almost too fast) romance. I could have easily enjoyed this story as a longer novel. Abby and Stephen are likable and I really wanted to know more about them and have more details of their relationship.
That Man Like it so far. Definitely disappointed that there was a to be continued at the end. I would not have read it had I known since the next part isn't even out yet. I hate cliffhangers and avoid them. Up until that point I was loving it. Can hardly wait for Blake and Jennifer to get together.
Love and Laughter: The Ultimate Romantic Comedy Boxed Set (10 Book Bundle) As always I knew I would love this boxed set just from looking at who the authors were in this set. As many readers can understand we have favorites, I personally have several and to be honest many are in this bundle. The first author in the boxed set that caught my eye was Author Marian Tee. For me she is a guaranteed awesome read “Catch You if I Can” reminded me of how it was to be young again. I laughed and cried when I read it but I can say is that I could relate to the story. Author Marian Tee creates characters that allow the reader to relax and just enjoy the hot chemistry between the main characters. In addition, she creates wonderful secondary characters that make me hope for more stories about the. This story alone was worth the price the whole box set is. Another favorite author of mine is Aubrey Rose. “Jenny Rockfort, Secret Undercover Stripper” made me laugh out loud at several parts of the story. This story was funny and hot. To be honest without giving away to much all I can say is that I would love to get a ticket. Author Aubrey Rose always delivers a wonderful story that makes me want to read all her books. The third author that is a fav is author Terry Towers. “The Bounty Hunter and the Girl from the Coffee Shop” was one hot freaking read. I loved the club scene and if you are like me then you will too. In addition, the authors were wonderful too.
This reader thinks that this boxed set is a wonderful purchase. The right price, great authors and wonderful stories that always the reader to let the world go away for a while. The only thing left to say is that 18+ is really the best audience for the boxed set since all the stories include intense sexual situations.
JENNY ROCKFORT, SECRET UNDERCOVER STRIPPER by Aubrey Rose If you are a fan of the Stephanie Plum series you will enjoy this book! Laugh out loud funny!
GENTS 4 LADIES by Dez Burke I enjoyed this story, it had an interesting twist on modern matchmaking. It was also scorching hot!
SHADES OF PEARL by Arianne Richmonde I first read this book about a year and a half ago. It was intriguing enough for me to purchase the following two books.
CATCH YOU IF I CAN by Marian Tee An engaging new adult story detailing the trials of true love at a young age.
Dewitched by Nelle L'Amour writing as E.L. Sarnoff My least favorite of the set.
TRUTH OR DARE by Adriana Hunter A sweet and sexy BBW story. This is a tale that shows how an awkward young woman transforms into a beautiful woman whose dreams all come true.
THE BOUNTY HUNTER AND THE GIRL FROM THE COFFEE SHOP by Terry Towers A short and steamy story that proves that sometimes things have to horribly wrong just to end up wonderfully right.
PLAYING HOUSE by Abi Aiken There are all kinds of roommates...and then there is Mark. He's the roommate that we all wish we could've had! A funny story about working thru issues.
SWEET FOR YOU by Harper Ashe Taste testing gourmet deserts definitely falls in the "dream job" category. Toss in some love and a yummy boss, and you have a sweet modern fairy tale.
THAT MAN by Nelle L'Amour This book ends in a major cliffhanger, I am so looking forward to the follow up. The "mommy porn" television programming that the heroine is pitching makes me wish that networks would read this and take note!
*An ARC for this set was received in return of an honest review*
I freaking loved this bundle! I am the type of reader that will get a bundle and maybe read a couple authors out of it and be done with it. All the authors did an awesome job!
I received an ARC for a honest review.
Catch you if I Can by Marian Tee
Wow is all I have to say. Ianne is a computer geek that has a crush on the high school QB Alex. They stop talking after Alex and Zelda start dating. Ianne goes off to college and morphs into a new girl. She's trying out for cheer leading and has a new look, then Alex walks back in her life. It takes you back to the time where being 16-18 isn't really all that grand when it comes to crushes. These two have loved/liked each other for awhile but never got around to saying anything due to rejection. Pride and hearts are put on the line but you will have to read the book to see how it all comes together :) Its not a cliff hanger book but if Marian wanted to keep adding more she could, but if not very good ending.
I so love romantic comedy and this boxed set has a wonderful collection of 10 stories. Some I've read from before but mostly everything else is new. Although I've read everything truth be told I jumped to reading Marian Tee's story. Such a sweet story with very likeable characters. (I can' t wait for the next boxed set you'll be having). Although who I am kidding, I enjoyed reading everything and couldn't help but laugh at the funny parts. I couldn't help but take a breather from laughing and when I have a feeling it'll be a funny scene I would pause first to prepare myself. I'm looking forward to reading other stories from these authors. I received an arc from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This 10 book bundle is a total steal at .99. That's less than .10 a book. This bundle includes Dez Burke's Gents 4 Ladies, a story about where a forever single woman who us desperate to find a date for her boss' wedding. So desperate, Tiana stumos to using a dating website where she ends up contacting Jordan who has no idea why someone would be contacting him from a dating website. Intrigued, he decides to go along with the date to figure out who put his info on a dating website. I can't wait to finish reading the other 9 books in the bundle.
what a brilliant set of books, out of the 10, only 1 I didn't enjoy, my favourite was definitely That Man, Noelle L'Amour, good cheeky read that makes me want to read the following books in the series, poor Jennifer she doesn't stand a chance against Blake he's going to pursue her, she can't resist but compared to the dickless wonder that is her fiance, there's no contest! it turns out two of the characters in the book had their own story too, Glorias secret and Glorias revenge, I'm going to check them out also.
This was a very hot and steamy box set for an awesome price of .99! You get great 10 awesome books from 10 great authors for a price that's unbeatable. They stories in this box set where all great but the one that stood out for me is Gents 4 Ladies by Dez Burke. That story was so sexy it had me needding a cool drink afterwards. Once again I want to say excellent job to all the authors in this box set and I look forward to reading more from them all.
Just finished reading the books in this box set! I really enjoyed all of them Two of my Faves in the set were Catch You if I Can by Marian Tee and Gents 4 Ladies by Dez Burke! This was great escape from all the cold and snow we are having . Have not read a book from Marian Tee that did not capture me and take me on amazing read. Love her work! Can not wait to read more from these great authors!
Catch You if I Can by Marian Tee was the main reason for me getting this set! I loved it! She writes such funny and real stories with a dash of fantastical just to keep you hooked! I'm going to work my way through the rest of the set soon, but I had to read me some Marian Tee!
I'm in the minority here. None of the books in this boxed set did it for me. I hadn't read anything by any of these authors before and while I enjoyed some of them more than others, I didn't like any of them enough to go out and look for other books by the same authors. Disappointed.
Like any read there were books better than others. Resulting in a good time ;) Each story is quick, funny, & sexy. Some are series but most are stand alones. A great way to get a variety of authors for a great price.
Like any read there were books better than others. Resulting in a good time ;) Each story is quick, funny, &sexy. Some are series but most are stand alone. A great way to get a variety of author for a great price.
The title definitely says it all. Love and laughter are found in the book of treasures. I enjoyed every story and just wish the last one wasn't a cliff hanger. But oh well it's all good anyway.
