(Note: Since there's no paperback edition of this book available yet, I have had to read it as a PDF document on my PC. [I do not own, nor do I want to own, either a Kindle or a Nook.] I had already made a commitment to review the book, hoping to get a printed edition, but apparently that won't be for a while yet. I have therefore made an exception in this case. This does not in any way mean that I am now wholeheartedly embracing ebooks, because I most definitely am NOT. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the printed edition.)

The third installment of this exciting trilogy gives us a more rounded picture of Lucy and Luke, the twins who are Sam's closest friends, although most of the author's attention is on Lucy.

As the novel opens, the twins have found an organization that will help them in their mission to rescue their remaining friends from the clutches of the evil Rent-A-Kid organization.

I was so happy to see how courageous Lucy is! She's even more of a strong heroine than Sam, incredibly enough. In this novel, she really shines! She survives all sorts of traumatic events with great courage, strength, and resourcefulness, while her brother, paradoxically, becomes moody and depressed at the carnage around them, which takes place mostly at the beginning of the book.

Their mission, in which they have joined IPI agents (this is a secret, CIA-type organization that wants to destroy Rent-A-Kid just as much as they do), is suddenly aborted when they are surprised by RAK operatives, and forced into a literal fight for survival.

The IPI plane crashes on a seemingly deserted island, where the twins eventually find the rest of the IPI team. Interestingly, Lucy meets the very handsome Hunter Riley, an IPI agent, and is instantly attracted to him. (Well, it was about time, I think, for Luce to have her own man!) What I really like about their blossoming relationship is that Hunter, far from being put off by Lucy's determination and battle skills, actually admires her, while also liking her as a woman. Kinrade portrays them as total equals, in fact. She thus joins the swelling ranks of women YA authors whose strong, beautiful heroines are paired with equally strong, handsome heroes. I applaud her for this!

The action in this book never lets up, which wasn't always the case with the first two books, especially FORBIDDEN MIND, the first book in the trilogy. I can see why, though -- that first book set up the background for the whole series. Once this was done, the action got going, and didn't let up until the very end.

FORBIDDEN LIFE starts off with a bang, and goes on from there to even more hair-raising escapades. The book has two narrators, as the other novels do -- Sam (perhaps short for 'Samantha'?), and a third-person narrator who tells the stories of the other characters. The focus constantly shifts from one character to another, with most of the chapters being devoted to Lucy. However, Sam and Drake are not forgotten -- Sam finally gives birth to little Ana, and Drake is fighting to regain his powers, intent on getting back to Sam and their daughter. He now feels remorseful for ever leaving them, powers or no powers.

Very sinister new villains appear in this novel, such as Beleth, who possesses the freaky ability to transform any part of his body, or his entire body, into just about anything he wishes, and Mr. Steele, whose identity was hinted at in FORBIDDEN FIRE, and is finally revealed in this third novel.

One of the most wonderful aspects of this trilogy is Kinrade's emphasis on children, and how horribly they're impacted by Rent-A-Kid. They're bred for their paranormal powers, and then used as pawns in the organization's endless quest for domination and control. In this novel, Tommy Beaumont, son of a twisted pedophile in FORBIDDEN MIND, reappears, and is in danger from the organization, while Drake attempts to rescue another child, Toby, whom he had met while separated from Sam. Then there's Serena, a young girl who's a healer, and owns a white cat she won't be parted from. Kinrade contrasts the innocence of these children, as well as others in the novels, with the cruel disregard for human life displayed by the Rent-A-Kid villains.

All the main characters from the first two novels continue to be tested to their limits in this new one, with hard decisions to be made by each of them. At the same time, their individual personalities are fully explored, as they battle to save the rest of the paranormal kids left at the RAK school.

The settings in this story as are as varied as the characters, and the reader is taken from one to the other, from one chapter to the next. My favorite, of course, is the strange valley that Lucy, Luke, and Hunter stumble upon. It's like a valley frozen in time, populated by giant beetles, huge lizards, and unusually-colored flowers. My favorite one is Lucy's favorite, as well -- the star flower. This valley is obviously the result of more genetic manipulation by the same evil organization that seeks to exploit young people who possess extraordinary powers.

This novel wraps up the trilogy in a very satisfying way, with all loose ends properly tied. Still, I'm feeling so sad that it has come to an end...I have grown so fond of Sam, Drake, Lucy, Luke, Tommy, Father Patrick, Brad, Toby, Serena, and all the other wonderful characters (including a college professor named after George Bernard Shaw, as well as Sam's art teacher, Mr. Krevner, who also reappears in this novel)! I realize that all good things must come to an end, but these characters really feel like family.... well, I can always re-read these books, after all, and I know I will most definitely want to!

Although I've already mentioned it, I'll do so again -- I hope this trilogy will be made into movies, because I will make it a point to see all three of them! I'd love to see these beloved people come alive on the silver screen! As good as these books are, I don't think I'll have to wait that long for this to come true, either!

Here's my parting advice: dive into these books -- you'll find it very hard to come back to reality, and, in fact, may not want to come back at all!

"It ended...it ended...it ENDED" This is what I have been vocalizing for the past half hour. Thank goodness my brain can function enough to enable me to type the words that I, apparently, am unable to speak. What those words are...well...I don't have super powers like the amazingly detailed and realistic characters in this book possess so I need a human minute to think. *tick-tock* (10 minutes go by)...*humming JEOPARDY theme song*...Ah! Ok got it! I figured out what I wanted to say *drumroll*: IT ENDED! Oh boy, I need some serious help. I feel like I just don't know what to do now that this TOO-AWESOME-TO-JUST-BE-CALLED-AWESOME trilogy is over...over...ov-aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!

Ok, for real? Forbidden Life is crazy INSANE (♪in the membrane♫) and puts the most daring, psychotic, adreneline-junky-who-risks-their-life-to-entertain-the-rest-of-us to shame. And yeah, I saw the video of the guy who jumps out of the capsule from 24 miles up. Impressive (to say the least because that took some serious skill to land on his feet like he did) right? What grounds do I stand on to support such an outrageous claim? The action is INTENSE (like INCEPTION-intense and almost as equally complicated)! It felt like every page someone was doing the impossible (like MISSION IMPOSSIBLE-impossible but better) and taking the meaning of extreme sports to a whole new level. The pacing is great; alternating point views of several characters from chapter to chapter never leave you bored or even a chance to catch your breath!

I had mentioned in my review of Forbidden Mind that the plot was "very ALIAS and DARK ANGEL-like with X-MEN as its backdrop". How so? Now just because I could identify certain aspects of the Forbidden Trilogy with other published works does not in any way imply that there is no originality. Quite the opposite! It only highlights the genius of Ms.Kinrade, creating a world that is both familiar and unfamiliar; making it her own. The fact that she has 1)seamlessly combined such action-filled movies or televison series(pretty sure that hasn't been done before), 2)described the action so vividly that one feels as if they are actually "watching" scenes from a film, not reading a book and 3)adds so much depth to the wide range of emotions the characters (readers too) experience, changing them for better or worse.

Forbidden Life , as full of butt-kicking as can possibly be (new powers are introduced, yay!), is strongly fueled by emotion; touching on such issues as redemption and forgivness, trust and betrayal, right and wrong. "How do you know what the right decision is?" often came up when a life was in another's hands, deciding their fate.

"Sometimes there are no right decisions, and you are left with the lesser of two evils."

Kinrade, Kimberly (2012-10-13). Forbidden Life (Forbidden #3) (Kindle Locations 271-272). Evolved Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Is there really a point of no return?

I screwed up in the most unforgivable way, but I'm back now, and I'll never leave either of you again. I swear. Can you forgive me?" I pulled out of his arms and stepped back enough to gain perspective. Could I forgive him? Would he hurt me again? "I will," I decided. "I will forgive you, but not yet. I'm not ready. It will take time."

Kinrade, Kimberly (2012-10-13). Forbidden Life (Forbidden #3) (Kindle Locations 4095-4098). Evolved Publishing. Kindle Edition.

What does it mean to truly sacrifice?

Luke smiled through his tears. "I told you, Sis, I'd always look out for you." She smiled back, but didn't want him to be hurt. Please, Luke, don't sacrifice yourself like this.

These thought provoking questions cause much pain and suffering to our beloved Sam, Drake, Lucy, and Luke. Will they find the answers that lead to happiness? Can they make the right decisions? Are there any "right" decisions? This masterfully written conclusion to a suspensful, thrilling, heart breaking, and fascinating series will have readers on a rollercoaster that may just blow their minds...and enjoy every second. ^.^

Favorite quote:
He wrapped Mary's shirt around two bars and started twisting. It took Lucy a second, but she almost laughed when she figured out the reference. She'd seen that in a Jackie Chan movie. He'd peed on his shirt and then did what Drake was doing to pull the bars in the cell together in order to escape. She really hoped he hadn't peed on Mary's shirt. Didn't Myth Busters prove that it didn't work?

Ok, I really didn’t think that this series could get better, as its so darn good anyway, but it did, it got even better. For those who are not yet familiar with this series (where have you been? Hiding under a rock? Lol) This series is a lot like X-Men/Dark Angel, with some Alphas (scifi channel show I love) , then throw in a little of Covert Affairs (spy show I watch) and you have the Forbidden Trilogy! We have some new hotness in this one too, named Hunter Riley! Boy is he hot and all made, whew, see the postcard I posted.

In this book, its about Sam, Drake, Luke, and Lucy, now with Hunter, and the IPI agents who are helping them free the other Para-powers kids (paranormal abilities, think X-men) then of course the arrival if Ana, Sam and Drakes baby. (she is still a virgin, the horrible Rent-A-Kids foundation impregnated her , as they want her baby for the powers it will have, they figured Drake and Sam’s powers combined would be unstoppable.)

This one has some excitement all over the place, we have poor Luke and Lucy, playing Survivor on a isolated island, that has weird stuff going on (think Lost, lol) but with some weird creatures and other strange happenings. Lucky for them, the other IPI agents had set up camp there, so they get hooked up with them, and this is where Hunter comes on the scene, and Lucy and Hunter hit it off. (I won’t get into details, but Luke and Lucy were on a mission to save the youngest para-kids, and the plane crashed, they jumped out) But I want to leave this as spoiler free as I can, let’s just say, some major Mission Impossible stuff goes on, none stop action and suspense. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and up to the wee hours of the morning to finish reading it! Hunger Games fans will love this, as well any anyone who likes the paranormal and scifi type books, heck, even romance, as there is more of it in this one.

Here is a funny part with Luke and Lucy on the island:

Did you know that apes share a very similar genetic makeup to humans, and that if humans ate more like apes, they'd be much healthier? Well, apes eat a lot of green leafy vegetables, but guess where they get their protein?"
Luke shrugged.
"You're not going to guess? Fine. I'll tell you anyway. They get it from bugs found in their greens. Bugs like this one. I'm not saying we should start serving it for dinner at home, but for now, when we're so depleted from using our powers, being attacked, jumping from a plane, swimming through an ocean and passing out on a deserted island, yeah, I think we need to get some protein in us however we can. And since you are apparently too chewy, it's Bug Brunch time."

Here is another hilarious part that had me cracking up with Lucy and the hunk Hunter!

"Would you like to hold my sword?" He asked the question with a gleam in his eyes.
Lucy burst out laughing. At least she didn't giggle again. "You did not just say that. But, um, yeah, I'd like to hold your sword, Agent Riley."
Hunter grinned and unzipped his backpack, pulling out something surprisingly small. He held it out to her, and noticed the disappointed look on her face. "Expecting something bigger?"
She smirked at his continued play on words. She had a lifetime of training in verbal and physical sparring; he was no match for her. "They say size doesn't matter, but I disagree."
Hunter, who apparently hadn't expected her response, choked on his own comeback and unsheathed the sword, then placed it in her hand. "You have to stroke it a certain way to make it bigger."

Drake is off on his own, spiraling down in self-loathing. He has hit bottom, but he may have found a way to get his powers back, but what will it cost him? I am not telling!
Ana is in danger, Sam will do anything to protect her, and they find out that Ana is the key to everything.
This is a must read trilogy, this final installment left me satisfied, but exited too. Didn’t get enough of Hunter, but still loved it.
Joining the IPI with me, be a part of it. Details at Kimberly’s website and FB page.

5 out of 5 stars for me. Loved it!!

Review originally posted at A Date with a Book .

I was surprised how different this book was from the other two. I did not enjoy it as much at times, but at other times I thought it was just as good.

I didn’t enjoy it first because it did become so very sci-fi, and that is definitely not my genre. Second, I think its level of intensity was completely different and threw me off from the story. Last, it seemed to me that the book was now the level of an adult book and as I had previously recommended this book to 12 years old and older, I definitely would have to say, no one under 18 should read this book.

All in all, I did enjoy where the story was headed. Being outside of the school did create for some different settings and involvement with new characters. The fact that Sam and Drake were separated and trying to find themselves back together. This put them in situations of depending on others and created new relationships. Not only Sam and Drake, but Luke and Lucy were now finding themselves involved with others and this was not okay at times with one another. Oh, and without giving away too much, they did find an old friend.

In wrapping up this trilogy and this particular review, I would recommend this book to readers who previously read books one and two and who definitely enjoy sci-fi. I would use caution in recommending this to anyone under 18.

This book was great. It was full of imagination and I loved the creativity. The trilogy had finally come to an end and I'll be sad to see it go:( Never-the-less, this was a great end to the story.

I loved the scenes between Lucy, Luke and Hunter. I felt like I was in a scene in Avatar or something of that level of creativeness. The giant beetles were my favorite as were the star flowers.

The scenes with Sam and Drake were sad and a little Romeo and Juliet tragic. I felt immensely for their situation and cheered them on as the story progressed for a happy ending.

There were so many twists and turns that led to an amazing ending. It was a wild ride that never stopped. I was so involved in the characters and invested in the story.

I would write forever, but don't want to spoil the trilogy by giving away the ending. It's too fantastic for that.

This book was a super YA paranormal read that I highly recommend to adventure lovers of all ages. I give this story five glittery stars for just being one of the best trilogies I've read:)

Kimberly has done it yet again! Forbidden Life is my favorite book in the trilogy. My emotions were all over the place while reading. I loved the looks into other characters' point of views.

The story line is fast paced and makes you keep reading. I was putting off household duties to finish this book. ;) I absolutely love the characters. I feel like I know them on a personal level. Except Hunter, I MUST know more about him and his hotness. Just sayin'. There's a lot to that boy.

Everything comes together in this final installment. Some people aren't who you think they are, and we revisit old friends. I never guessed the events took place. I'm always happy when a book takes me by surprise. Kimberly's writing is awesome, and she has a way of showing every emotion in the character. I love her work, and can't wait to read more about IPI.

Follow these special people as they fight for their redemption!

Magic Sphere Saves the Day

I had to plug along through this book. It was just too much! The professor who was turned into a tree and a giant friendly beetle who could fly people around was fun. But later events seemed so very contrived. And some magical sphere that could solve all plot problems without any real explanation just felt like a magic writers solution to loose ends. Some creative ideas poorly orchestrated, in my opinion.

"Kindle Read". Author Kimberly Kinrade does it again in Forbidden Life, the third book in the Forbidden Trilogy. These are books that are a must read. They will capture you right from the beginning. Forbidden Life has it all, romance, trust, betrayal, forgivness, and we can't leave out the dangers that the energized characters encounter. Will definitely be reading more books from KK

Loved it!!!

This was a wonderful series. I loved this story. This last installment was written in a different format than the previous two. It has 3 different storylines in designated chapters. Our main characters are separated throughout the story, so we are taken on all their many adventures. At first I was less than thrilled, but I actually became completely engrossed in the different storylines and how they fit together. They were all pivotal to the story and show the reader how everything is a small part of the greater whole. Everything is connected. That in itself is a huge message of the storyline. It also touches on choices presented to the characters. Is killing one to save many justified? Could you live with pulling that trigger, or would you seek another solution? I really enjoyed watching characters grow and learn what truly matters in life. I know there were some bad decisions made by different characters, but considering what their backgrounds were, I think self-esteem was damaged.
I highly recommend this series.
There were a few typos, but I find it common in e-books. It didn't bother me, but I know some people get quite upset about them.

Rushed and jumbked at the end. Disappointed

This probably could have been a 4-5 book series. The whole ending fell apart for me. Too many POV changes, too many in general. Enough so, that the timing of events happening was nearly impossible to keep in order. I figured almost all the little kids are dead/gone because they were really nothing in the story other than props. The urgency feeling to save them was totally lost in the 14 POV changes and the needless "get Lucy a BF" storyline. The baby thief makes no sense too. It felt like an add in ..."whoops we forget to assign a villan!" The whole sphere fixes all, but the one guy who wanted it used on him desperately, doesn't help himself. So , it made no sense. I'm disappointed.

The action and drama kept going and the ending finished with a bang. I did have to set my morals aside for the story, however. I am not a huge fan of how the relationship with Sam and Drake progressed, but Hunter and Lucy was an entirely different story. I loved that it was over and I loved that the story finally had a conclusion. For the sake of this standalone trilogy, these characters could finally catch a break.

I'd give the final book 3.5 stars. Hunter saved it for me, much in the way that a cold glass of water would on a summer day. There were points in the plot that just unsettled me in a not-good way and I feel like a different ending might have been more suitable. I didn't fall in love with this one like I did with Forbidden Fire, and that just left me sad.

Puzzled

I didn't like the book in the series. It was slow and somewhat boring. In the book Sam was annoying is too judgemental. She's angry with Drake for leaving her but she is the one who destroyed his powers and broke him emotionally, when he was only trying to save and protect her. All of his actions were in effort to protect her and the baby, but she chose to be judgemental and too critical of him. And what's that ridicules adventure with the twins. It made no sense. What was the point of the crazy fantasy island.

Interestingly, I didn't love this story as much as previous KK novels and series I have read. It was interesting and I loved parts of it and some characters, but the whole story felt a bit rushed, fatigued and incomplete. Like we never learn about Hunter's origins and who tried to harm him. Lots of unfinished plot. Would be interesting to learn more about Father Patrick, as well.

This is definitely an action adventure. I don't think the drama ever stops. This is tale that does not end. I would love to read more about Drake or Beleth or both. I would also like to see Lucy, Luke and Hunter with their own story.

Forbidden Life is the longest read in the trilogy and in my own opinion the best! The story was like a giant roller coaster that crept up a steep hill and even though you knew the end was coming you still won't be entirely ready for it. It will consume your mind with its many layers and intricate plot. The plot thickens with every chapter and the suspense just keeps building. The action in this book just never ceases and you'll be racing through to find out what's going to happen next. Forbidden Life picks up 3 months after Forbidden Fire left off. Every character has there own struggles to overcome and numerous obstacles to face. That in and of itself is brilliant because just when you think everything's going to be okay an unknown variable changes everything. You get to see tons of Lucy which is fantastic - she's so strong, independent, and fierce. Her perspective is incredibly entertaining and full of surprises. She really becomes her own character and as much as it is Sam's story it's also Lucys as well. Forbidden Life never has a single predictable moment and that's what makes this whole series standout in a sea of other YA novels. This book is also my favorite of the entire trilogy though I did say that about the last one Forbidden Fire, it just went beyond everything; surpassing greatness for excellence. COMPLETELY LOVED IT.

Drake's a hot mess having left Sam you get to see where he ends up. Sam's baby is born and her life just keeps spiraling out of control. Lucy and Luke get into a very entertaining situation. There are a few added perspectives from other minor characters which is fascinating insight to glimpse there own views. One of my favorite things about this book is how Sam finally becomes a confident and extraordinary heroine. She isn't playing games with anyone anymore especially when they interfere with her mission of protecting her family. She'll do anything to keep them safe. Yet again Sam and her friends are at war to take down once and for all the leader behind Rent-A-Kid; her father. New characters are introduced that are really cool and extremely likeable such as Agent Hunter Riley who has a growing romance with Lucy - he's completely delicious, and his personality is magnificent. He also has some interesting secrets of his own. Then there's Toby - a street kid who has some really funny banter with Drake. The villains of this book are even more insidious, with twisted agendas of there own. There are some really cool science fiction moments integrated into the series blending together fantasy, paranormal, and dystopian elements that make it something entirely new.

Like the previous books this one also has its dark moments however not as morbid as the others. I didn't mind the violence as much because the story captivated all else. The characters in this book are expansive and you see everyone more and there para-powers evolve and there's a lot of evolutionary factors that explain how these powers came about. A lot is concluded in Forbidden Life so not once did I feel like it didn't have an acceptable ending or an unrequited resolution. The only small issue I had was that up until halfway through Luke was seriously irritating me with his attitude. Intentional or not that got to me. In the 2 previous books he's portrayed as fun, cute, and strong. In the first half of Forbidden Life he's made out to be a giant complainer, weak, and annoying. I tried really hard to overlook this but every time I did he would do something that would make me angrier. I don't like whiny characters but thankfully he got back on track and the second half of the book made my thoughts on this matter disappear; I was SO enthused he was able to redeem himself. Although I felt this way it made his character growth development more intriguing as all the characters individually had a lot of soul searching to do. Overall it was overwhelmingly fantastic and is now one of my newest favorite trilogies.

I really want to read more about this world Kimberly Kinrade created and I cannot wait to get my hands on her future works!

Forbidden Life is the non-stop, fast paced, edge of your seat final installment of the Forbidden Trilogy, a fantastic YA novel.

I thought book 1, Forbidden Mind was good, and it was, but then I read book 2 Forbidden Fire and it was even better. I expected Forbidden Life to be a much calmer, wrap up of the story. It was the exact opposite. It had more action and suspense than the other two books combined.

I loved, loved, loved that Luke and Lucy--particularly Lucy--got an even bigger spotlight in this book. They are fantastic characters and have quickly grown to be my favorite. Kimberly, if you're reading this, I'd love to see more Luke and Lucy in the future ;)

What else is there to say? The characters are lovable and have you rooting for the good guys and booing the bad guys from page one. There are twists and turns that I didn't expect, keeping my gripped and on the edge of my seat. Forbidden Life also broaches on more mature subjects that the other two didn't address, but is done tastefully, without dressing it up or making things appear more glamorous than they are. Questions from the entire series are wrapped up here, but there is definite room for spin offs, which I believe are in the works, but don't quote me on that.

Some of the things addressed in this series are homosexuality, first loves, single parenthood, unplanned pregnancies and sex. Yes, these are some big topics that are very controversial. Normally, if I found these topics in a YA novel I would be leery but Kimberly handles them all well and to a level that I think is appropriate for children from the ages of 12-18, but as parents you have to use your own discretion. Nothing is glamorized, gone into great detail, or shoved in people's faces as right one way or the other. Reality is that we are faced with these things every single day and so are the young adults in the world as they navigate their way through highschool which are some of the most confusing years of any teens life.

Like I said, in the end you have to decide for yourself if these are topics you are comfortable reading or having your children read. I won't condone them one way or the other. In the end, I loved the book. It's my favorite of the entire series and I love the series.

I hope to see many more YA book by Kimberly Kinrade in the future. 5 Stars for Forbidden Life

Since breaking out of Rent-A-Kid's grasp, Sam and Drake's lives have been topsy-turvy. They're expecting a child and have done their best to avoid crossing paths with the company itself. While they've been able to remain undetected, their lives haven't been as easy as they thought it'd be. They've had to learn how to fend for themselves, as well as make do with the simpler side of life.

With Sam's inadvertently taking Drake's power from him, their lives have taken a more sordid turn. Rent-A-Kid is adamant in possessing their baby and they'll do anything in their power to achieve their goals. Sam will do anything to keep them from gaining the upper hand, but without Drake by her side, that's easier said than done.

As the company's secrets come to light, Sam begins to realize that there's more at stake than she knew. Not to mention that there's now another company hot on Rent-A-Kid's heels in hopes of bring them down, once and for all. She knows she'll need to find a way to get Lucy, Luke, and the other kids safely out of the compound before anything else goes away, but the tight security scattered around it makes that virtually impossible.

Sam knows that her father intends to eventually get his way. He wants to put his hands on the power she and her baby harbor deep within. In his mind, it'll allow him to make something of the dreams and plans he's been building for so long. Unfortunately, she never counted upon his being one step ahead at all times. Never-the-less, she's determined in thwarting his every plan and will do anything to achieve it. Including putting those she loves on the front lines, much to her dismay, in order to make sure that she'll put a kink within his every goal, once and for all.

This was a delightful end to such a wonderful series. I enjoyed it immensely. Although, I confess I found myself wanting to read more. It's that good a story!

I think Kimberly has crafted such a wonderful world around these characters. A world that anyone can relate to. These characters are ones that will dig into your heart so deeply that you'll find yourself sympathizing with each and every one of them. At times, you'll even root for the bad guys because of the unique circumstances they find themselves. I definitely recommend this series for reading. It's one you'll end up reading time and time again.

I am so sad that this series is ending as I really loved it. I will say that the author knows how to have a series go out with a bang. She truly delivered the action and romance in this one. I loved everything about this last book. Sam once again has some much to contend with in this story but she handles it in true Sam fashion which is what I love about her. The author made Sam such an endearing character that you can't help put love and feel her pain as she feels it. I found myself so wrapped up in her character it was like I was feeling what she was dealing with.

The plot of this story was different from the others in that it went more in depth and had more of a sci-fi feel to it that I loved. It made for such an engaging read. It reminded me of watching a really good sci-fi movie with romance mixed in. I loved how vivid the descriptions of the world that Lucy and Luke found themselves on. The creatures that they encountered where so life like and realistic. It was also great to see more of one of my fav characters that you have to read to find out about because I don't want to spoil it. I loved the addition of Hunter to Lucy and Luke's dynamic. It made for some really funny moments as they had to learn to deal with someone else working with them.

I will have to say that I loved the author's writing style. She had such a way with words that made the story flow so easily and at a great pace. It made for a light, fun and engaging read with tons of action. The action had me so hooked into this book I found myself trying to read it in every spare moment I had because I had to know what would happen next. I loved seeing Sam and Drake interacting again and loved that their relationship showed the ups and downs and what some relationships may really be like. It made for a compelling read. Once again I hated to see this story end but the author managed to end the story perfectly. She wrapped up all the loose ends and didn't leave it with anything unfinished. If you haven't read this series yet you really need to and definitely this book.

I received a copy of this book for the blog tour but it in no way infulenced my review.

WOW! That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this book. I loved the first two books in this trilogy and I was hoping this one would be good too. It was even better. I didn't want to put my Kindle down. This is a must read series!

The story this time focuses on the same characters but they are in different locations. Drake is off on his own trying to figure out what he is going to do now that he doesn't have his powers anymore. Sam is back at the new place for all the kids from Rent-A-Kid that have escaped or been rescued. Luke and Lucy are on a mission with IPI to save the kids from Sam's crazy father Steele and the head of Rent-A-Kid.

While Sam wishes that Drake could be there for her when she delivers Ana she is also really angry with him for leaving in the first place. But she has her friends around and Darren who would like to be more than friends. When Ana is put in danger, Sam will do whatever it takes to rescue her and take down Steele. The plane crashes that Luke, Lucy and a bunch of IPI agents are on. So now they are stuck on a remote island with what seems like no way of getting off it. Here we meet Hunter, a hot IPI agent. Lucy and Hunter become involved in more than just the rescue mission of the kids. Drake has his own issues out on his own. He comes across a kid Toby that he seems to need help. Or will Drake end up needing help from Toby? I LOVED reading about Lucy and Hunter. They made being stuck on the island a good time. It was quite the experience with all the strange things that happened.

So much is revealed in this final installment. I have to say I was really shocked by all the revelations throughout the book. There is never a dull moment, there is always something exciting happening throughout. New friendships, new realtionships and non stop action. I was happy with how it ended. I just wish there was more books to this story. I would love to read more into the future about Lucy and Hunter. I highly recommend this trilogy is you haven't started reading it yet. You need to, it's so good!

I wasn't sure how much more Kinrade could squeeze out of her character's at this point. They'd been through hell and back, and were still expected to give us an explosive conclusion to this trilogy. Well they did just that!!

Book two ended with many surprises and I was left with many questions running through my mind. What had happened to Drake? What would happen to the kids? Lucy and Luke? And who exactly were the IPI?

After learning so much about Rent-a-Kid, I had my suspicions about IPI. They seemed to come out of nowhere, and even though they offered to help, were they any different from Rent-a-Kid? What were their motives?

The fantastic thing about this story is that each characters has their own story to tell. Whether it was Sam and her continued struggle with her pregnancy as well as the disappearance of Drake, or Lucy and Luke's latest mission to stop Rent-a-Kid, there was never a lack of thrilling moments to keep the momentum going.

I liked that we got to see Sam and Drake on their own. They each had hurdles to get over and without each other to lean on it made for an enthralling read. New characters are introduced throughout this book, while a few secondary characters from the first two books are brought back to give this trilogy yet another outstanding twist.

Once again, Lucy was my hero. I just cannot get over how amazing she is. She showed such strength and depth. I was glad to see her get a bit of the romance she so desperately craved. The island she and Luke found themselves on was amazing, upping the ante. The story morphed from an X-men, spy action adventure to something out of Journey to the Center of the Earth, with fascinating beasts and mutations. I was blown away.

The tension built up with each turn of the page and when the final battle arrived I was on the edge of my seat. My heart was invested in each of the characters and I was sure I'd be left broken by the end. This is one read that should not be missed.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Well Sam and Drake are back in Forbidden Life the final book of The Forbidden Trilogy with Sam about to pop with her and Drake's baby Ana. Drake has left Sam because she accidently took his powers from in Forbidden Fire. He thinks he can't protect Sam and Ana without his powers. Sam doesn't care about his powers she only cares about him. Drake is acting very childish by leaving Sam she when she is about to give birth to their baby. Run away instead of facing up to your responsibilities. But you know Drake has his own things and ways of dealing with them. He hurt Sam very much by leaving but Drake doesn't know this he thinks he is doing what is best for her and the baby.

Sam has to hide from the Rent-A-Kids they want her and her baby because they will hold the strongest powers ever. I was very surprised to find out who was after Sam and Ana. I was worried for a while that Sam would not get out alive. I was afraid for Drake I felt real bad for him too. Sam has come to a point where she doesn't know who she can trust or not trust anymore. But she will do whatever it takes to save her baby and the ones she loves.

In Forbidden Life there is a new group of people that is trying to put a stop to Rent-A-Kids. And with this new group comes a new character Hunter whom Lucy strikes some spark with. Hunter is just as much a hero as Drake is in the end. I was real glad that Lucy found some to care about her like Sam did. I was so sad to see this series end. I would very much like to know more about Lucy and Hunter's relationship. Will they get together? What kind of life will Sam and Drake have now with a child that a lot of people want to get their hands on? What about Luke? Where are they all going from here? How strong is Ana's powers and what all can she do?
