Moving past the choice made for her to become a vampire, Dr. Kelly Murphy is determined not to let it derail the vision she had of her life. Instead, she transitions herself to live her once human life and adjust to her new vampire responsibilities. And those are too many to count at times.
Not only does she need to learn what navigating through vampire culture truly means—and survive—but she also has to figure out her new abilities and limitations. Oh, and there’s a King of the vampires, who seems nice… That’s not the same as being her friend though. Then again, she’s never really sure who she can trust since they all seem to have their own agenda and want something from her.
Even if it’s simply to be in her bed, winning her like a prize.
When leaders in the vampire hierarchy start being murdered, no one has any clue as to the culprit, and they could all be next. And here she was exceeding everyone’s expectations in her career. Maybe lasting through her internship really isn’t an option?
Erin is a born Chicagoan who decided to state hop a bit, given she works from home. She currently resides in Georgia with her pup, Lord Vader Flynn. With an eclectic and addictive personality, there isn’t much that doesn’t interest her or she won’t pour herself into if it catches her fancy. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.
To date, she has published more paranormal books than she can keep up with the characters for, in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes.
So I've pushed on through the second book and feel like ive now not only wasted my money but my time. As mentioned in my previous review i bought all of this authors books on faith because ive read 4 of her series and love love loved them! If this is the first of her books you are reading then you are unfortunate and i hope you give her the opportunity to fall in love with her other series because this is a terrible example of what she is capable of. Kelly is juvenile. Why has she not developed and grown at all? How does she claim such morals and have no loyalty or trust for anyone but her family and Nicole? There friendship is one enjoyable thing in these novels. This should be an amazing series! The plot in theory is so cool and fun but its just Kelly crying and poor me all the time. She has no gratitude and frankly seems bipolar. Which if she is would be completely acceptable but thats not part of the storyline. Im so frustrated by this series and yet im loyal to the author so im going to finish the third book that i blindly purchased on faith and hope really hope that something is worth reading in it
Another great book from this author, it's a rollercoaster ride from the first page to the last. The characters are great, love the dynamic of each relationship between them. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to start reading book 3. Definitely recommend this book / series.
The characters really grew and developed in this book. I was glad to see how they either changed or showed new aspects of their character. The storyline continues to be fascinating.
Is it just me or does Erin R Flynn got a problem with guys called Brian (tell me you've read Sara's accidental wolf book series and get my joke). Loved these books. Please tell me there is more. I'm addicted. Literally
It just keeps getting better and better with each book I so hope that this is more than a three-book series any of her any of work is masterfully done and I get hooked in each time I read any of anything to write
Omg! I'm absolutely addicted to this series! Like wtf! Kelly has had soooo much drama and heartbreak! The men may be hot buuut not that great with ques and emotions. Plus her brother omg I hope he's okay!
I’m so glad she kept the men at arms length and is focusing more on herself. This made for a much better progression of events than the first book. Still a ton of chaos all the time, but it was much more enjoyable to read this time around.
Honestly, this story drags and the dr. Murphy is annoying. The men are weak. I don't know how I made it to the second book. The plot seemed interesting. Zero stars from me!
While some of the premise is still nice, the damned drama is just too much. I'm getting whiplash from the way the characters interact, and the way the MC keeps reacting to her love interests. I can't keep up, and dropped it after about 50%.
Thoroughly recommend this author. All her series have strong characters & detailed plots. Genuinely cant put them down until I finish all the available books.
The Dr. Kelly Murphy Series is like taking the best parts of Pretty Woman, Breaking Dawn, Interview with a Vampire and True Blood. I couldn't put the books down! DKM is full of romance, humor, adventure and intrigue. 5 Hearts!" ~Karen - SiK Reviews
I have just recently come across this series, after reading the Seraphine Thomas series (which I loved). I saw the author had written a vampire series and just had to give it a go... And I am so glad I did. The main character is independent and does not let anyone boss her around, the other characters are diverse and well portrayed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys the paranormal genre, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
