In the high-octane world of Formula 1, Rowan Emerson is a force to be reckoned with.
Behind his dimpled smile and blazing arrogance, he lives in the shadows of his teammate, plagued by secrets and detrimental envy to feel loved. Always aiming to be the best and achieve his goals perfectly, he doesn’t think his universe can ever flip upside down. That is until Avery Sharma-Maddox steps into his life as his new press officer — the only woman to ever spike his temper.
A turbulent connection draws them together, turning sparks into flames. Hatred forces them closer, but lust teeters them towards the edge of a dangerous precipice. Forbidden desires and shared secrets entwine, but reality threatens to shatter their carefully constructed worlds.
Rowan’s focus slips off the track limits, causing him to risk it all. What happens when he breaks the rules by chasing the slipstream in pursuit of victory — with Avery as his ultimate prize?
Kanitha "Kay" P. is an indie author who has been writing since her early adolescence. Lover of romance, fantasy, books, flowers, coffee, rainy days, and sunsets, you can also find her sitting on the edge of her seat whilst watching Formula 1 every other Sunday. (She's a Ferrari girl so, please, do not stir the knife in her wounds by mentioning the past seasons for Leclerc and Sainz.)
She welcomes you into her universe, her oasis, with open arms and an open heart, hoping you'll find solace in her written words. <3
One thing I dislike in Rivals to Lover's romance books is that once they get together, they lose the chemistry they had as rivals. I loved that this couple's banter was still the same after they got together. The character's chemistry had me in tears from laughing and crying. The writing was easy to get into and it flowed well. I liked how descriptive the racing scenes were, helping me imagine it when reading. This was my first book from the author, and I can't wait to read other books from the series, as there are a lot of side characters that I've fallen in love with, and I can't wait to see what's in store for them.
Thank you to Kanitha. P for giving me an early copy in return for an honest review
I will admit that I enjoyed this more than Falling Off the Cliff, but I swear if I have to read “honey meets chocolate” in terms of Rowan and Ava’s eye colors, respectively, ONE MORE TIME I’m going to go insane. The writing was definitely better this time around, but I could’ve gone without all of the Taylor Swift lyric references in the dialogue and the same analogy about their eye colors over and over again across almost 500 pages of a book. I thought the first book was unnecessarily long, and I feel the same way with Chasing the Slipstream. I’m not sure why it had to be close to 500 pages and it felt like it was dragging at times.
I love the character development throughout the story and Rowan and Avery learning to love each other but also loving themselves and taking care of each other. It feels like you’re growing along with them! I’ll definitely tune in when February rolls around to read about Miles and Indy!
(Also, there’s a special place in fictional character hell for Eliott, Stephen, and Nikki.)
3.5 stars — Trigger warnings:Explicit sexual content (I’d say it’s between a 3-4 on the spice scale), broken family relationships/rough family environment, blackmail, workplace harassment, slut shaming, motor vehicle accidents (it is an F1 sports romance story after all)
I really liked this book! The writingstyle had such an improvement which made the reading experience better (it felt more consistent with the way it was written imo). Rowan and Avery had such a great banter!! I love it when a FMC isnt afraid to give some banter back! The F1 bits were amazing, sometimes I also wished that those scenes were a bit longer. I really felt for Rowan and what he went through but I liked how Ava helped him to communicate better.
Sometimes the smut scenes were every close to eachother and it felt a bit much for me and I didnt like how a certain confession was written (from a sidecharacter), that felt a bit not real compared to the rest of the book. Overall I had such a good time and really recommend this book if you love f1 romances!! Also the epilogue was so cute 🥹🥹🥹
Chasing the Slipstream was amazing, and I loved every single word of this book.
Ava was my girl, and I feel I would fight for her anytime any day. She was amazing, and her character development was so perfectly done!
But let me tell you… nothing can compare to Rowan Emerson!! I love him so, so much - probably one of my favorite mmc EVER and undoubtedly my favorite Kanitha’s character.
One of the things I love most in Kanitha's writing is her way of describing everything formula one related - anyone can read their books, and I love that.
Also, her way to describe love, feelings, and deep dialogues will never stop mesmerizing me.
K, thank you so much for trusting me again with your books. I will be your cheerleader forever.
Please, please read this book if you love formula one romances, character development, and workplace romance!
Tropes to expect here: -F1 Romance -Forbidden/Secret Relationship -Enemies to FWB to Lovers -"Fuck it" moment -Written in 3rd Person
Kanitha's debut Falling off the Cliff made it to my top reads of 2023, so to say that Chasing the Slipstream was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 is a bit of an understatement. Kanitha didn't know the pressure that I had bestowed upon her, but wow, she nailed it straight on the head; her writing has improved in waves since her debut novel which made it so easy for me to get lost in the characters and really enjoy the reading experience.
Rowan and Ava have become one of my favourite book couples. The way they 'hated' each other made for some great moments full of banter, which is a sure fire way to get into my heart. I loved the tension, their chemistry and the way they bounced off each other. Kanitha packed a punch with the emotion on this one, and although I couldn't relate to Rowan's plight on a personal level like I could Ava's, I really felt so many feelings for him and his journey of self discovery. Ava dragged him through his darkness and made him whole again. Two characters written in destiny. They truly were perfect for each other.
The F1 aspect of this book was incredible. It was written in SO much detail that it became highly immersive. I felt like I was with Ava watching the races from the sidelines. I haven't watched F1 in some time, but I think I might be dusting off my cap very soon?
Gold star for the epilogue on this one. It was everything I could have wished for. The perfect send off for these two.
Huge thanks to Kanitha for putting your trust in me andl sharing an ARC copy with me. You are a superstar. I'll be here impatiently waiting for Indy and Miles to take over my life.
it’s official, f1 weekends are a lot better with an f1 romance to read
anyone who knows me knows i literally have two personality traits and they’re f1 and reading, so anytime they overlap is a happy day for me.
this book was full of taylor swift references and even better, f1 meme references (high performance athlete anyone?). every time i caught only a reference it put the biggest smile on my face.
i was lucky enough to read book one in the series as an arc, and am super grateful that i was able to do the same with this one.
one of my favorite things about this series is the fact they both characters have clearly been well thought out and developed. not one of them seems to have a bigger focus, which i find can happen with mmcs in some romance books. the two also don’t lose the fire that was there before they turned to lovers, with the banter still alive and well no matter where they stood in their progress with one another. i absolutely adored both characters and the way they made each other better. and as always, as a girly who’s favorite flower is the sunflower, we all know avery would be a girl after my own heart.
with sports romance, it can be hard to find a balance between the sport and the romance, but it felt perfect in this book. though maybe my bias towards the sport shows in me adoring every little moment of rowan on track.
i loved the little moments we got to revisit thiago and kamari, and the hints at the possible next couple (please).
my only qualms are the timing and pacing every once in a while, and i think certain smut scenes could’ve been more spaced out or weren’t completely needed, but otherwise it was a cute way to continue the series and i BEG book 3 is about miles and indy.
I fell in love with these two characters before their story was even out, so to be able to read it and watch their love grow was amazing. Thank you Kanitha for letting me be apart of your arc team. I will forever support you and encourage others to read your books.
let's start with the fact that Nikki can really square up if she want to cause don't piss me off. we don't play about Ava over here miss girl.
banter. pure banter. that's what these two had from the start and I absolutely love it. Rowan and Ava can't stand each other, but in age old fashion, they are forced to work together. forced proximity is always so hot 🤭.
we all know that I'm a huge Tito and Kam fan, so any cameos I get of them makes me so happy. I loved the friendly banter between Rowan and Tito. even though they're on the same team and compete against one another, there's no hard feelings between the two.
I think I predicted book threes couple midbook 🤭😭.
Rowan loves to tease Ava and honestly I'd let him tease me too, he's hot. yes that was an innuendo and no I definitely didn't initially mean it in a sexual context.
I hate when Rowan is down on himself. I could be projecting, but his anger seems like a defense mechanism to hide his sadness for how things are going when they don't work in his favor. I also hate his dad. so there's that.
their nicknames for each other are the absolute sweetest. sunflower and lover boy. are you kidding, I'm obsessed with these two so much.
I'm not afraid to say, I love him your honor. 🙂↕️
I think it's so cute that when they want to know something about each other they say, "a secret for a secret." please tell me that's not precious
I was obsessed reading about these two, they started with some strong dislike towards one another and we slowly see them become lovers. Rowan was always considerate and protective of Ava even when he swore he couldn't stand her. he wouldn't let anyone talk to her crazy and was willing to risk everything for her. these two really have my heart.
oh yeah, a dangling chain does something to me. it's so hot. also getting a cat for them and naming her Praline, so stinking cute
Thank you Kanitha for the E-Arc, I was so excited to read this book because I knew I would love Avery and Rowan so very much!!
This book made me equally happy and horny at the same time 🤭
I enjoyed the work place dynamic between these 2 because it was giving forbidden romance 😫
If you LOVEEE some good banter chemistry + a flirty friends with benefits relationship, you will enjoy this book!!
He calls her sunflower 🌻🥹 and she calls him lover boy 🥰
One of my favorite things was that there was no 3rd act break up!! Loved how Avery pushed Rowan to communicate his own feelings and how he taught her to feel confident 🥹🤍
The side characters were equally as great as well, I’m gonna be one of those readers that requests a book for Tate PLEASEEEEE, I would eat it RIGHT UP.
Thiago and Kamri cameos ATE, seeing them happy and thriving made me feel like a proud parent.
I know that you guys are gonna love this book so very much!
Thank you Kanitha for blessing us with another great f1 romance 🙏
3.75 star! i always have to get used to reading in 3rd POV when i do. i had expected just a little bit more. they were a cute couple, but some things made me cringe a tiny bit. the ending was very cute, i'm just sad there wasn't another epilogue 1 year after the first epilogue =/ anyways, i was a little disappointed, but still liked the book!
Thank you to the author for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
Unfortunately I just couldn’t get into this book. It took me a while to get into the book. It was quite predictable and the two main characters weren’t giving the ‘dislike to lovers’ trope. I would have liked to see more racing in action rather than before and after.
I received this book as an e-ARC and ummm, I know there is an option to DNF a book, but I can’t bring myself to do it, no matter what. I’m a red flag like that, lol. And yeah, I want to write a full review, but honestly, I have no idea what to say. Argh! There’s just nothing to write about this book!🫠
The only reason I picked up this book was for the F1 romance. It also has this dislike-to-lovers trope. GOD, I’m definitely not blind, so where are they? F1 romance and dislike-to-lovers? Because I searched, and I still couldn’t find them!!🫥
Alright, let’s talk about the characters—Rowan and Avery. Rowan’s an F1 driver, a certified flirt with killer looks and a traumatic past. Avery, the FMC, is a sunshine girl and his press officer. And yep, she’s got her own baggage too. So, we’re all set for that classic F1 driver-press officer dynamic. But NAH!!! It felt less like an F1 romance and more like free therapy sessions on the track.🙄 I mean, deep talks and healing arcs are essential in romance books. But here? That was the entire book. The amount of therapist-patient kind of conversations they had was OVERWHELMING.😬
For the first 30% of the book, the MCs hated each other for absolutely no reason. It felt so pointless like they disliked each other just because they couldn’t stand each other. Is that even a real reason? Lol.🤡 There was zero build-up to the romance. One moment, they were throwing snarky comments at each other, and the next, they were kissing each other and having s*x. Like, what happened? Did I miss a chapter? Where was the slow burn? The tension? Nope! These two transitioned from enemies to lovers in the blink of an eye.😐
The plot? Boring The angst? Non-existent The chemistry? Zero The smut? Overdone Character development? Kind of, if you count the mental health struggles.
Every time Rowan lost first place in a race, he'd retreat to his room and punch holes in the walls. Enter Avery, the designated emotional support human, tending to his bruises like a concerned nurse. Then came the therapist-patient talks. And then, repeat. Their entire relationship felt like one long therapy session rather than actual romance.😒
And all of this just for Rowan to spiral yet again, break up with Avery, and serve up one of the most unnecessary breakups I’ve ever read. And the patch-up? So fast, at the speed of light. The majority of the dialogue in the book felt cringe and repetitive to me. Once I crossed the 40% mark of the book, I just skimmed through it, till the end. This book felt forced and honestly, exhausting.🥱
Tropes: - Lots of angst but also so much banter - “dislike” to friends to lovers -Hes calls her “sunflower” - she calls him “loverboy” - pr officer x f1 driver -He takes care of her when she is sick - friends with benefits to lovers - sunshine x sunshine ( secretly broken boy) - forbidden/ secret relationship - he falls first & harder -reformed f boy ( i mean this man stops being a fboy the moment he sees her. So kinda. -“who did this to you “ - he stands up for her - forced proximity - “ you came “ “ you called “ vibes ———————————————-+———-++—-+-++++——————————————————
This book is something i didnt know i needed in my life. This book has made me feel so many emotions in such a good way. I absolutely ate this book up like i swear this book was just so fun to read. One of the cutest things about this book is the mmc calls her sunflower - a unique and cute nickname - he also calls her by her first name instead of her nickname “ava” ( her name is avery). What made me instantly love this book is the banter in this book is so hilarious - i love it ! I mean i love me some good banter it works well because i love rowan and avery so much. These two together oh my god their chemistry is off the charts and they never failed to make me laugh with their banter/ flirting. One of the cutest things is avery calls him loverboy .
This book is an absolute must read for f1 fans especially f1 fans who also love emotional books with a true book boyfriend of an f1 driver . This book is something everyone needs in their life . You will find yourself falling in love with rowan emerson . This man is literally the best aaaah
What makes this even better is at the beginning these two lowkey dislike each other - kinda . I mean this is a dislike to lovers / friends with benefits book afterall. I had so much fun seeing these two push each others buttons / wind each other
This book was also emotional. It was filled with some angst that made the right amount of sense . I love me some angst / hurt comfort in my books and this delivered perfectly . The whole “we can’t do this” thing really added to why i love this book. I love angst in books especially when it pulls me and really makes me feel things. This book did exactly that . With all the backstory ( of both characters and their struggles) . This was definitely not your usual run of the mill sports romance and i love that. I love that this has the perfect balance of angst and comfort .
One thing to note about this book its a this is a pr agent x f1 driver book . However its a lowkey a forbidden relationship because avas dickhead of a boss/ supervisor ( nikki) is all like yeah if you get with him you will be fired. ( this woman is ugh and such a hypocrite ) anyways the way she goes about this is by shouting at avery because of course she is a bitch. - the name nikki and her being a bitch reminded me a bit of my aunt nikki ( who i havent seen in years thankfully) who i dislike for many reasons , one of which because she is Also a bit of a bitch . I absolutely hate nikki so much . Anyways um because of what she says ava and rowan have to keep their relationship on the down low/ secret.

My personal playlist for this book: ( so many of these songs are like rowan to Avery) its a mix of sad & happy songs. - just the way you are - bruno mars - Wildest love - taylor swift - yellow - coldplay - stole my heart - one direction Dress - taylor swift - stole my heart - one direction What makes you beautiful- one direction The very first night -taylor swift You found me - the fray - i can see you - taylor swift -piece of you - shawn mendes - sky full of stars - coldplay - they dont know about us - one direction Unconditionally- katy perry Somebody to you - the vamps This is me trying- taylor swift - look up at the stars - shawn mendes - kiss me - sixpence none of the richer - labyrinth - taylor swift - delicate - taylor swift - you are in love - taylor swift - no control - one direction - never say never - the fray - we cant be friends - ariana grande - sex on fire - kings of leon - falling like the stars - james arthur Best part - nathaniel caeser - stargazing - myles smith Slut - taylor swift - pointless - lewis capaldi - enchanted - taylor swift Daylight - taylor swift Cruel summer - taylor swift Daylight- taylor swift - the blue - gracie abrams - iris - the goo goo dolls 🎧🎶🎶🎶🎧🎶🎧🎶🎶🎶🎧🎧🎶🎧🎶🎵🎧🎧🎶🎧🎶🎵🎧🎵🎶🎵🎶
Reading this book made me so hungry because of the mentions of food in this book has made me hungry - lemon tarts and pain aux raisins( one of my fave pastries ) and the mentions of dessert in general. Desserts >>>. - so disclaimer this book may make you hunger / crave sweet treats .
As someone who struggles alot with self love this book really spoke to me. It makes me wonder when i will find my very own rowan emerson. The real reason i relate and love this book is because it just speaks to me all the emotional moments and issues of not seeing yourself as good enough just spoke to me. This book really aaah. It just is everything i needed and more .
As expected from any f1 romance book ( most of them). primavera the f1 team rowan and thiago are on is basically the ferarri of kanitha p’s f1 world . - i am a ferarri fan myself but one thing i would say is i would love to see a f1 romance where the in universe team is based on mclaren . We couldn’t have a f1 romance without our mmc being a little bit of a fboy . Rowan is my fave kind of fboy the kind that falls first for his love interest and who overall knows how to worship his girl .
The spice in this book had me feeling some type of way (aka horny. ) and down bad. - i always love a man who goes down on his girl and eats her out like its his last meal. I also love it when the fmc says “ im will crush you” and the mmc is like “ thats the best way to go “. Men who like to pleasure their woman >> ( i will never tire of saying this) . The way he literally treasures her - the way he thinks she is the most beautiful woman in the world - whenever she is like “im not like the other girls you fuck “ or similar things he is like “ you are beautiful “ and compliments her he is literally a book boyfriend . ( what is it with me and men called rowan). This man literally aah . The way Rowan sees her as his world. She is the light of his life . She is his everything. This shows because of so many of the amazing things he does for her ( without her even having to ask).
This book is my everything. Its my roman empire right now. Its a masterpiece like gof of war - rina kent , that sik luv - jescie hall , shallow river- hd carlton , the ritual - shantel tessier , god of fury - rina kent , unravel me - becka mack . Its up there with some of my faves . This book is literally in my opinion a masterpiece but i think its a masterpiece for me .
The fmc is curvy & has big thighs which is hot as fuck . Thick thighed woman . Like so hot i swear . Its never truly explicitly said but i think she is mid sized. In my mind this is what i imagine . She is also desi i believe her last name is sharma - maddox . So a desi fmc ???
The ending of this book omg was to die for aaah .
Im excited for indy and miles book

And just like that, this book becomes my best romance of the year and enters my sports romance holy trinity alongside Unravel Me and Hail Mary.
I feel so lucky to be able to beta read Kay's books. I loved book 1 but book 2 was made for me. I felt the same way as I did reading Hail Mary, that is, knowing it would be a favorite before I even started reading.
I connected deeply with Ava and Rowan. While I had a crush on Tate when she introduced the characters in her book, it was Ava and Rowan, the main protagonists, who captured my heart.
Ava and Rowan's chemistry is unmatched. The tension and banter between them is explosive and hilarious. They are so different and yet so similar. They have an ability to communicate and open up to each other despite their fears that moved me enormously. Ava is gentle, kind and selfless, while Rowan is cocky, confident and hard on himself.
I fell in love with them just as they did. That's exactly the kind of credible, meaningful love I'm looking for in real life. Where trust, discussion, fears and trials bond two people together.
Ava and Rowan are now a part of me. Thanks Kay, for them.
i don’t think i have the proper words on my feelings of this book but what i can say is that i loved this book more than i ever thought i could.
ava and rowan were so perfect for each other and so well written, it was so easy to relate to them as characters. their journey had me giggling and kicking my feet and i was stuck between reading it in one sitting and putting it off to make it last.
i could go on for an hour about how perfect this book was but i would probably sound insane. i can’t wait until this book is out in the world and i have it in my hands.
So the FMC is a publicist for a Formula 1 team and the MMC is a Formula 1 driver. They both hate each other for strange reasons—her hating him because he was rude to her when she first started, and him hating her because he couldn’t get her out of his head since she was so beautiful. Strange reasons to hate each other!
The FMC’s supervisor (I actually don’t remember what her position really was) loathes her. She is doing everything she can to make the FMC’s life difficult, and she has made it very clear that if the FMC spends any time with the drivers outside of work, she will get fired. So dating is a no-go.
But still, our main characters fall for each other, since this kind of “hate” always turns into love! So they sneak around for a while before someone exposes them.
Who exposes our main characters? The guy (colleague) who asked the FMC out and got a no. He was so mad and disgusting, acting like a woman-hating incel… pathetic. So he stalks the couple and releases pictures of them kissing to the press in hopes of getting them both punished. And who encouraged this guy to do this? The supervisor, of course, who hates the FMC!
So they both get punished. The supervisor gets fired because it comes out that she is sexually harassing the drivers and is disgustingly mean to the FMC. Why is she so mean to the FMC? Because she’s jealous that the FMC got the MMC’s attention—something she was desperate for. So fucking stupid… and the guy gets suspended! This entire thing was so stupid!
And then they lived happily ever after!
But what I will never understand is that everyone saw how the supervisor treated the FMC—and no one did anything. The FMC never stood up for herself, even though we all saw that she could. The MMC just threatened the supervisor and said that he would go to HR and file a complaint if she didn’t stop. And she was awful to a lot of other staff! On top of that, she was sexually harassing the drivers. Why didn’t they make some noise about that? Why did literally no one do anything? I just don’t understand… why didn’t anyone stand up to this awful woman? And I was also waiting for the MMC to talk to HR about his and the FMC’s relationship! Why didn’t he? I feel like they had a million opportunities to tell people that they were in a relationship. Instead, they allowed two nobodies to almost ruin them…
I wasn’t exactly happy with how things went down, or the punishment that was served to the guy and the supervisor! Since the supervisor tormented the FMC throughout the entire story, I felt like she should have gotten a more severe punishment!
And then there were the unexplained insecurities in the FMC and MMC… The FMC had body issues that were never explained, other than a mention that her supervisor looked at her with disgust. But she did that because of jealousy! And the MMC? He was ready to break things off with the FMC because he saw himself as unworthy of her! But why? It really came from nowhere. There was so much self-pitying in this story!
Let’s not forget about the MMC’s fucked-up family dynamic! The fact that his mother allowed his father anywhere near him was insane—especially since the father was a worthless piece of trash who made the MMC feel awful and was both verbally and physically abusive to him! The mother held out hope that the father would come back and be a family again with her! Just what? So the MMC had to suffer so much shit because of his family! He deserved so much better!
So yeah, I felt like there were so many people who weren’t held accountable for their shitty and disgusting actions in this story!
I still think this was a good story. It was interesting! Maybe a tad too long, since after the FMC and the MMC started boning each other, that part kept dragging. But otherwise, it was quite interesting!
OMG, I loved Rowan! I seriously believe that he deserves everything best, and we should all just give him hugs because he needs those so much.
Now, let's talk about the book
As I loved the previous book because of the accurate description of F1 and the situation within the sport, its supporters, etc. I love how the author integrates these parts into the writing, and it was quite entertaining to follow the dynamics of the team and its drivers.
I enjoyed all enemies to friends to lovers vibes. Rowan and Ava reminded me Tom and Jerry seriously, with their bickering[flirting] and behavior. I had lots of fun reading about their trip. Their moments were just romancing for me. They were so adorable, and when Rowan flew all the way to see Ava, I was swooning like crazy.
I loved how Rowan put her happiness first, and even when he tried to push her away, I could understand where he was coming from. But Ava being badass, we didn't suffer through miscommunication [applause, applause], and she straightened everything as soon as possible. We love women who know what they want!
Also, can we talk about how sometimes there are just women who aren't girls girlies period. Like I personally hated Nikki, and I was so glad both Ava and Rowan put her into her place.
Also, Rowan's dad deserves a million paper cuts all over his body! That man has no right to be called a human.
Did I also mention all Taylor Swift references? I adore those - lover boy!
I can't wait to read the third book because I need to know more about our Miles!
And I was so glad we got Thiago and Kamari in this one too, because omg, I love my babies+
I seriously need more and more books [maybe the story of Rowan's sister and Tate].
I am so glad I could read this book and biggest thanks to Kanitha for sending me e-ARC
I'm obsessed with another Kanitha book? obviously. I'm going to hype you to read it? yes
Kanitha has an incredible way of drawing you into the story, her way of writing, telling the story, building incredible characters with great chemistry and of course the atmosphere of F1. If you are an F1 fan, I highly recommend it and if you are not, I highly recommend it. Because you will understand everything and you will be more curious about the sport and you will end up wanting to know more. As for Rowan and Ava, I just have to say that I want them to adopt me, I mean guys, I knew Thiago and Kam were special, but Rowan and Ava are special too and you can't make me choose between them. They've hated each other since they met and now they're forced to work together, obviously there's sparks flying between them from the start, but they can't be together because she might lose her job. But these two... The way Kanitha builds the characters is unique and I don't know who I love more, Ava or Rowan, it's very easy to connect with them (at least for me).
I'm very happy to follow Kanitha and see what she achieves and what she will achieve, she is one of the nicest and sweetest authors I know and she deserves all the good things that happen to her. We'll be there for what's to come.
Thanks to Kanitha for letting me read this book before its release. I loved her previous work, and this book had a lot of potential, I've been wanting to read it since she first announced it. The story centers on Rowan, an F1 driver, and Ava, his new publicist. Their immediate dislike for each other results in a dynamic, tension-filled narrative. Their push-and-pull relationship and witty banter keep me hooked, it's a game of tug of war to see who gives in first, which results in a very interesting story to read!
The chemistry between them is electric, and the storyline is captivating. Overall, fans of romance and drama will find this book an enjoyable and engaging read.
4.75 ★★★★✬ LOVED IT ABSOLUTELY LOVED ROWANAVA✨ i swear i relate with ava sm my baby girl, she went through sm yet she is still a ray of sunshine, a strong and amazing woman, a woman who stands up for her man and makes him feel so deserving of love🥹 rowan was a little ass in the beginning but he made it up for everything, the things he did for ava god, that bouquet he did for her god i melted on the spot
Set in the fast-paced world of Formula 1, Chasing the Slipstream revolves around Rowan Emerson, a super talented driver with a lot of attitude and even more secrets. Things get really interesting when Avery Sharma-Maddox comes into the picture as his new press officer. The chemistry between them is off the charts, and their love-hate relationship keeps you hooked.
The book does a fantastic job of mixing the excitement of racing with the personal dramas and challenges Rowan and Avery face. The tension between them is palpable, and you can feel the sparks flying as they navigate their complicated feelings. There's plenty of drama, passion, and unexpected twists that keep you guessing.
Chasing the Slipstream is a fun, intense, and emotional read that you won't want to put down. If you're into stories with strong characters, high stakes, and a bit of romance, this one's definitely for you!
I thought this was a cute read. I don’t think it needed to be as long as it was, but I actually didn’t mind too much. It was the dialogue that really made the rating; some lines were a little too cliche or unrealistic, and the song references just made me want to roll my eyes.
Considering I enjoyed the first one slightly more. I’m going to finish the series if that says anything about my overall feeling about the book.

I once believed love would be (Black and white) But it's golden (Golden) Like daylight😩💗 (it's their song)
My second time reading Kay and my second time reading something about Formula 1, and I love it. I'm glad she's the one continuing to introduce me to books with this trope🤝🏼
We have Rowan, a Formula 1 driver, and Ava, his new publicist, who hate each other (they hate each other for two seconds but anyway), and oh my god, there was so much tension hahaha. Then they start a sort of friends-with-benefits relationship, and honestly, I love them.
Rowan is my new book boyfriend. He won every piece of my heart. He's such a real character who had a lot of growth throughout the story, and it was beautiful. I love it when the protagonists slowly open up to the main characters😭
Ava, my new favorite, I love her so much and she deserves all the good things because of her pure heart. I identified with her fears and insecurities, which makes her even more special to me.
I loved the interactions between these two. They were funny, spicy, and very romantic💌. I also loved the other characters in this story. I can't wait for Miles and Indy's book; it promises a lot. Another thing I asked Kay about today hahaha, I'm excited about it, I loved those characters.
Fangirl section for Rowan and Ava: when he apologized for touching her without her permission (I won't give context, but it was beautiful), when she told him that he was her best friend😭. I could talk much more, but there wouldn't be enough space.
Anyway, if you like books with real and beautiful protagonists, this book is for you. Or if you're a fan of F1 and want to read something like this, this series is perfect.
This is one such book that threw me in a loop and I couldn’t think anything other than Rowan & Avery and their love which was so pure and honest that I was in the awe of the journey they had.
First of all I was screaming when @kanitha.author announced the name of the fmc because we share the first name initial and also her middle name is my last name 😭❤️🔥
This story is a perfect blend of banter & pure love. What I loved was while weaving a fictional story Kanitha also drew light on the common struggle female employees feel in the make dominant sport and more often than not the one to drag other woman down is a woman only.
There were so many swoon worthy moments but I loved watching them fall in love.
