With friends and siblings like hers, Kimber Forrest felt like all she had were enemies when dealing with her fractured love life…
Kimber wanted to be a lawyer almost as much as she wanted Roland Sampson, her older brother’s best friend. After pining for him for two years, Kimber finally accepts that to Roland, she will always be “his best friend’s kid sister” and nothing more.
During her first year of college, Kimber meets Samantha and her twin, ultimate bad-boy Jaxen Malloy, drummer for Negative Ion. Tatted. Muscled. Beyond gorgeous. Soon Kimber finds herself forgetting Roland and thinking only of Jaxen, much to Samantha’s disappointment. Like Kimber’s brother, Samantha wants Kimber as far away from Jaxen, female enemy number one, as possible since she knew all Jaxen would do is viciously hurt her. Not this time, Kimber insisted. Well-schooled on Jaxen’s reputation, Kimber decides to take what she can get, and ignore all the warnings to stay away from the handsome bad-boy.
Will Jaxen ever think of Kimber as something other than his “annoying” sister’s friend or could he possibly be falling for her, too? Kimber hoped so and, to find out, she was willing to take the risk of Jaxen breaking her heart… and soul.
Ryanne Anthony is a lifelong storyteller and avid reader. She enjoys sharing her stories and creating new worlds and putting them on paper.
Her love of words began when she was given her first novel at age 11... Tristan & Isolde... by her father, who'd given it to her to stop her incessant talking.
Ms. Anthony is a Midwestern girl, born and raised, and is a loving wife and mother of a boy and a girl, one each of the human and fur species.
"Life is unpredictable and loves to throw you curves, big or small. Despite that knowledge, I totally believe in happily ever after... even if your true soul-mate is named Jack Daniels."
Kimber has had a crush on her best friend’s bad boy brother ever since she laid eyes on his gorgeousness. His air of danger, his swagger and his bad boy personae were no deterrent to the 22 year-old virgin.
Jaxen’s cold demeanor towards her and his general haughty attitude were no deterrent, either. She wanted him. Only in a perfect world would he want her back, but when he did, when he claimed he loved her, she found her own piece of Heaven on Earth. He was gentle, caring, carefree and he even laughed. He refused to take her virginity unless the moment was perfect, a huge act coming from a manwhore whose motto was love ‘em and leave wanting more. Their time together had an expiration date, Kimber was going East for law school and then it happened. The night she went to him to say she was staying, that they could be together and that she had more news for him, he became a monster and brutally beat every shred of her self-esteem, her love and her heart into the bowels of despair. He lied, he didn’t love her and she was alone to pick of the shards of herself and move on with life, sadder, wiser and crushed.
Ryanne Anthony’s Falling is dark romance between a sweet young woman and the clichéd bad boy who went beyond what was necessary to crush her. Kimber and her family are a fascinating group with their won issues, but they share love and the support of each other. Wonderful supporting characters brign so much love to this read, without them or the subplots woven within, this story would fall flat as another twisted egomaniac topples the garden of love in one woman’s heart. Ryanne Anthony wrote with brutal frankness, stark clarity, yet treated the romance with a hint of hearts and flowers.
What makes this a five star read is the quality of the writing, the fact that the author yanked me so far into her tale that I had emotional connections with the characters. No matter the reason, which we are currently unaware of, Jaxen’s actions were beyond brutal, unhealthy and meant to injure. For me there would be no justification or second chance for a person so callous. I was flabbergasted by the ending, it came to halt like the sound of a needle scraping across an LP record. The moments of joy and humor were shining beacons in a tale filled with the pain of losing in love.

Ryanne did an amazing job of keeping me on the edge of the seat. She is the master of the unexpected. All I can say is watch out! Her style of writing pulled me in immediately and would not let me go until I was screaming at the end for book two. But I know her, i just bet Ryanne has something to throw me off my game even more in book two. I the dynamic of the characters and the overall plot. Just remember nothing is as it seems. So, if you are looking for an amazing read, get this book. You won't be disappointed.

Wow....talk about a Cliffhanger!! Jaxen and Kimber make for quite a combination. She is quite innocent compared to Jaxen who...isn't. This story is good. It has the promise of much more to come and holy hell did it leave you reeling at the end. I have no idea how the situation is going to be salvaged. Truly. But I'm sure we will see things sort themselves out somehow. The next book is from Jaxen's POV which should be intriguing. After reading this book you need to get his viewpoint because that boy said some HARSH things. This first book got my interest. Looking forward to more.
I have found myself a new author to follow. Where do you start with a book like this? First, I had to walk away for a bit after the ending…I was so upset. (I know, get a life, right?!) But that is how you feel when an author pulls you into to their story so much that you are left wearing your feelings on your sleeve. Ryanne took you through all the emotions; laughter, sadness, and with the ending, anticipation for the next book to follow this.
Ms. Anthony did a great job writing about the various characters in this book because the storyline was not just about Jaxen and Itsy, even though they were the main characters; you were taken into the two families that were involved as well. I really loved the storyline for Itsy’s mom and dad.
Falling takes you down the path of a virgin and what it means to have the right person to give it up to. Or so you thought. Ryanne did a great job writing this because I felt cheated on right along with Itsy. Itsy knew that in order for her to give up her virginity to someone she would have to love that person. Is it possible that the person will be someone that you actually have crushed on for a couple of years and thought they never felt the same way? And how do you love someone and know that you will be leaving them in a few short weeks? Is the love that Itsy is feeling enough to get her to change her mind and stay behind for her man? And what happens when you wait too long to tell someone of your true feelings for them? Ok, enough of the dramatic questions!
This book was a killer because not only did it keep me reading through it nonstop, it left me wanting for the follow up to be ready NOW. Believe me; it will not come out soon enough! This is a great read for anyone looking for a story that will pull you in and make you feel invested in the characters. The same desperate feeling I had that kept me reading through this book nonstop left me feeling desperate to find out what is going to happen next with Itsy and Jaxen. (Sorry Roland)
I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
This book is different from the M series. It's not better but it was entertaining. I was well on the way to giving it five stars until that ending. One thing Ms. Anthony is good at is cliffhangers. I liked Kimber. She wasn't a dizzy girl. I really liked her friend Samantha and that brother. And that first date! Oh wow! Didn't like that first kiss though. That was beyond me. Kimber was wrong for that but Jaxen didn't care so why should I? I'm hoping the second book tells us what happened after that phone call cause I wanted to throw my kindle out the window when the story stopped. Overall I liked it but am still anticipating the next M Series book.
The main character is Kimber Forrest, she just graduated college and is planning to move to New York to intern in her dad's law firm. Kimber lives with her mom in California, her stepbrother is also moving to New York and so is his girlfriend Samantha, Kimbers' best friend who she graduated with.
Kimber had a crush on her Parker's best friend Roland in her late teens and when he confesses that he wanted to ask her out they come up with a deal: 1 kiss, nothing more. Kimber doesn't want to start something when she has to leave for New York. What she doesn't know is that Samantha's brother Jaxen saw their kiss. Jaxen offers her to spend the remaining four months together, and Kimber accepts, she had a serious crush on Jaxen for a while now.
They have 125 days together and they grow closer than each of them would've imagined.
The end oof their relationship comes as a shock to Kimber, just when she had some important things to discuss with Jaxen, he acts as if it was all a game to him. She turns to her parents, hurt and in desperate need to get away from Jaxen and California. They help her when she decides to attend Harvard, the distance will help her keep her secret from everybody, especially Jaxen.
Okay this book ends with a cliffhanger, it is part of the Negative Ion series. And I have to tell you that altough I REALLY liked this book, I really hated this ending. Not the ending itself, but the fact that the next book is at least a month away and I have to wait this long to find out what will happen next, it's one of those books I wasn't able to put down, you practically had to chop my hand of to seperate me from it. I can be really crancky when someone tries to interupt me while reading.
This book is full of twists and turns, and I really didn't expect some of the things that happened, especially the end! So I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars! I liked this book and I am looking forward to get my hand on the next part of this series :D. alicia's world of pages

Everything is gone
She pushes through and gets on with it he doesn't know Will she tell him?
That you will have to read to find out.....
We liked the book it was an enjoyable read, we have never read any work from this author the only this we didn't like about it which we did find a bit confusing was using the present time and past tenths. We found ourselves re reading the whole sentence again so that was a bit annoying. We did enjoy the arc it wasn't along read just over 100 pages.
We may read the next installment just to get the ending of the story.
Ryanne Anthony’s first book in the Negative Ion series is Falling. I read the synopsis and thought this was a book I could really like and I was not wrong.
The story revolves around two very close families, Kimber Forrest and her mom, her best friend Samantha and her brother Jaxen who Kimber has a serious crush on.
Kimber has a step brother and the step brother has a friend who only thinks of Kimber as his best friends little sister. The problem is Kimber really likes her brother’s friend and would want nothing more than to be his girlfriend, will this ever happen?
Samantha and Kimber have been friends since school and graduate together but Jaxen, Samantha’s twin brother only sees Kimber as his sister’s friend. Kimber would give anything for that opinion to be changed by Jaxen and secretly longs for him to notice her.
Kimber has plans; she planned on going to law school and living with her dad. Things change, life changes us all but in this book, life is not always the way you want it. Kimber has to grow up and you see this and all the difficult decisions she has to make while doing what is best.
This book has it all, there are some great moments between Samantha, Kimber, Kimber’s mom and dad and the two families but there are also some real WTF moments where you literally want to throw your kindle straight across the room and yell at it. I must say these are mainly bits to do with Jaxen LOL
The way the book ended though will have you sitting on your seat going “OMG Seriously” or maybe that was me. There are lots of twists and turns in this book, it is emotionally charged but a great read.
I cannot write too much or I will give the story away.
**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review** Kimber was 22 and had never had sex. Sammy was her best friend. Her boyfriend was Parker, who was Kimber's half brother. Jaxon is Sammy's twin. Kimber's mom was a cop. Kimber was an only child and in July she was supposed to go to NY as she had a job with her dad. Stanley had been flirting with Kimber, but Jaxon wanted her. She wanted Jaxon. Jaxon had a band named Negative Ion. Stanley was part of the band. The band felt that Jaxon wouldn't change for Kimber and Stanley could and would. Kimber told Sammy that maybe being with the ultimate bad boy was what she needed. Kimber was a smart and sweet person. She loved her family and friends. She was naive in a lot of ways. Through the twists and turns of this story, she grew. I loved her character for the most part. Jaxon was the perpetual bad boy. He was talented and artistic. He didn't usually show his feelings, but he did have them. I liked his character a lot until he hurt Kimber but then figured out why. I loved the plot and the story until the last couple of chapters. I am a dreamer and just didn't like the ending at all. I was so disappointing after reading this in one sitting.

This is the first book in the Negative Ion Series by Ryanne Anthony. This is a story about two people and the families that surround them. This book was a great read and I really enjoyed and I even enjoyed the WTF moments in it. Ryanne pulled you in from the beginning. I laughed and I got pissed off at both the main characters. I was even yelling at my Kindle at one point. This book elicits strong emotion as you root for the characters. Not just the main ones but the supporting ones as well. I was sorry it ended and I can't wait for book two in this series.
Thank you Ryanne for pulling me into your mind yet again. It is hot and steamy in there and I never want to leave. Amazing book and I have fallen in love with these characters. I love this book and would recommend it to any one that wants a good read. I finished this book fast and then I went back and read it again because I loved it so much. Please hurry and write book two loved the book and can't wait. Again you blew my mind and wrecked me at the same time. Thanks!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Kimber, or Itsy as she's called, & Samantha are bestfriends who have just graduated early from college. Samantha also is dating Kimber's brother. Kimber is planning to move to New York to work for her father at his law firm and continue her education. One hitch, Kimber is in love with her bestfriend's brother, Jaxen. So in love that she gives him her most prized posession -her virginity-.
I had never read this Arthur before but found the work enjoyable, sometimes confusing and more for a younger age group. I enjoyed this book but some if the lines and conversations are geared more towards a younger age group, the subject matter is definitely adult. Although this is not necessarily my cup of tea I will definitely suggest that my nieces and younger cousins read it.
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book literally has it all, it's full of drama, laugh out loud moments and emotional turmoil. i loved the moments with Kimber, Samantha, and Kimber's parents. There are frustrating moments, that involve Jaxon. I did enjoy this book, I am very impressed with the author's work. It's emotionally charged, with lots of twist and turns, but such a great read. Of course, the ending had me saying what the hell just happened. i look forward to reading more from this author.

WOW!! I am in complete shock! I was not expecting that ending at all. That completely threw me for a loop. Okay, I have to say I absolutely loved this book and instantly fell in love with the characters. From the first page to the last, I was so wrapped up in the story I literally read the whole book in one sitting while at work only stopping to when I actually had to work. As soon as I finished whatever I had to do, I was right back in the story. Ryanne Anthony writes an amazing story that just sucks you in and just when you think you know what is going to happen, think again, she throws a twist at you. Definitely an amazing read and I cannot wait until I can read the next one.
**ARC provided for honest review*** Main Characters: Kimber & Jax & Roland Love triangle, ugh! EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail, if there is a love triangle I am on the wrong side of the triangle. WHY did it have the end that way!! I read this book thinking that the whole thing was a little too NA for me, just some of the lines and conversation seemed young. However, the subject matter was adult. However, mix in the love triangle and I am bipolar. I would have LOVED it if the ending had been different but that is my luck I guess. Overall interesting read, but I was left feeling like it was better for him than it was for me – unsatisfied.
Copy courtesy of Netgalley This was supposed to be a shirt read. I started it and put it down a couple of times. There was a lot going on and there are a lot of characters. I liked Kimber for the most part but Jaxon was not a favorite. He had some good parts somewhere in the middle of the story. I am interested in reading where his head was. I can guess at his reasons for behaving the way he did when he broke Kimber's heart but still he was way out if line. the end leaves a lot of unanswered questions. The writing was ok and it got better as the story conitued. A lot of angst and drama in this one. I am waiting to see what happens with Kimber and Jaxon next.
Raynne Anthony out did herself with this one. Any book that has the reader feeling all the emotions right along with the characters deserves five stars. Throughout this book I found myself laughing, crying, and upset when the characters were. I can't wait to get my hands on the second book when it comes out. I can honestly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a wonderfully written, heart felt, contemporary romance. I have found myself a new author to follow for sure.
Just perfect! Jax and Itsy are amazing. I can see myself doing the things she does and did. Jax will have you loving him and hating him all at the same time. Again, she never disappoints me! I can say that when I want to read a book her books are my go to.
This book was raw and edgy. It totally grabbed my interest from the beginning. I would have loved to see the pacing evened out more, or maybe the scenes to be more fleshed out. But, hey, Ryanne Anthony knows how to spin an engaging story. I read the book through in almost 1 sitting because I didn't want to put it down. I loved the characters, even Jaxen, who clearly has some issues. I'm still not clear what exactly Jaxen's issues stem from. He and his sister seem to have a love hate relationship. And, this makes the dynamics of the story that much more interesting. The characters are so...out there? in some ways, yet at the same time so real. The whole cast almost reminded me of the crazy neighbors who always seemed to have some fascinating drama going on. They're all really nice, so you can't complain about them. But, you scratch your head at how the neighborhood professor or surgeon has these wild but nice kids.
I really also enjoyed Kimber's mom. She felt very down to earth and real to me. The love story between Jaxen and Kimber, however, takes center stage and it's not an easy one. Jaxen can be such a sweetheart and such a jerk. Yet, I found myself rooting for them and wanting them to work things out. They clearly love each other, though it's not totally clear to me why Jaxen messes things up at one point. I have my assumptions, but I'm not sure.
This is definitely a page turner and I look forward to finding out what's next in the complicated world of Negative Ion.

Loved this one, loved the two main characters. I liked Jaxen right from the start and right up until he hurt Kimber, not physically but verbally. Apart from Jaxen and Kimber there were several other engaging minor characters and I hope to see more of them in the series. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting a light, enjoyable read. Speaking of enjoyable, the sex scenes were hot! I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, just like Kimber’s emotions. The ending was totally unexpected but I can understand it. I am just grateful that there will be another book in this series.
