This novella got me!!!! It 100% mind frigged the crap right out of me!!!! What a crazy and amazing story!

Georgia is a mother of two and married to Chad!!! Chad the cheater. That's right. She ends up noticing a text on his phone one night and opens it up to a bunch of naughty messages and photos with another woman. Funny thing is, she's not even upset about it. Why? Because the thought of her husband touching her or being around her repulses her. So, she decides to come up with a plan of her own, since she knows she won't leave him because of the kids.

To have an open marriage where they both can have someone else. The rules? Not in the house, and you have to go on 3 dates before you can sleep with them. Of course, Chad likes this up until Georgia starts getting attention and lands a date. But it's not the guy she's on date 3 with that she should be worrying about. Nope. It's his boss Daniel. He wants Georgia and he will do everything to make her his.

I am not going to say any more about the book, because I don't want to spoil anything that happens. All I can say is WOW!!!! What an amazing story. The story line was amazing, spice was spicing, and the end will have you gasping!!!! Highly recommend!! (Please make sure to check your TWs)

Please know, this is not an easy book. The trigger warnings MUST be read, they are extremely important and should not be taken lightly.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING could prepare me for this book.
This was probably one of the most INTENSE books that I have EVER read. It was SO good. I read it in like 40 minutes, which is rare for me. The twists and turns and unexpected EVERYTHING it had me on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time.
The end of the novel has me in a chokehold, but not a like acotar chokehold. This has me in a “I quite literally cannot stop thinking about it” way, like. I am confused and sad, I am questioning EVERYTHING about what I just read.

I have literally never had a had a book affect me like this, it is WILD.

The author did such an amazing job and I am absolutely freaking baffled by this novel. This was great, I want to say that the book was amazing in a good way. But it was more amazing in a devastatingly confusing way.

Props to the author! I have never been so confused about how to feel about a book - if you couldn’t tell, I loved it. It was amazing, but the book is absolutely freaking heartbreaking. 👏👏👏👏

Also, the dedication had be absolutely rolling 😂 I loved it.

The ending will blow your mind

I enjoyed this book. She is in a marriage where her husband cheats, they have an open marriage, but the twists keep coming the biggest being at the end that will have you saying WTH. I would read more books by this author!

This was insane. This is a psychological thriller with a dark romance subplot. I so thought I knew where this was going and I had no idea. Georgia is in an unhappy marriage when she finds out her husband is cheating. She offers him a proposition for an open marriage. Georgia is definitely on her get back until things take an ugly turn. Y’all need to read this. This was the author’s debut in 2024 so little things here and there are missing for me, but the plot was plotting and the twist was twisted af. Short read that more people need to get into. Definitely recommend.

“Wide Open” by S.M. Ivins is a gripping dark horror novella that takes the reader on an unexpected and emotionally charged journey. The story centers around Georgia, a dedicated wife and mother, who, after discovering her husband’s infidelity, proposes an open marriage instead of opting for a divorce. What follows is a harrowing tale of self-discovery and the complexities of human relationships.

This is not my usual genre, but I found myself thoroughly engrossed in Georgia’s journey. Ivins masterfully crafts a narrative that is both unsettling and thought-provoking, pulling you into the emotional turmoil that Georgia experiences. The author’s ability to weave suspense and horror into the story is remarkable, leaving the reader on edge and eagerly turning the pages.

The book’s description promises a shocking and emotionally wrecking experience, and it certainly delivers. The events that unfold are intense and often surprising, keeping you guessing and invested in Georgia’s fate. Ivins’s writing is powerful and evocative, making it easy to empathize with the protagonist’s struggles and triumphs.

One of the standout aspects of “Wide Open” is its ending. Without giving too much away, I can confidently say that I did not see it coming. The conclusion is both shocking and satisfying, cementing this novella as a memorable read that lingers long after the last page is turned.

Overall, “Wide Open” is a compelling and well-written novella that I highly recommend, even if dark horror is not your usual cup of tea. S.M. Ivins has created a story that is both haunting and profound, and I am glad I took the chance to experience it.

The ending was intense and unexpected! However her anger throughout the book seems justified. I’m not excusing the husband's infidelities, but as a spouse in kind of situation, one must prioritize what’s best for their partner. He failed to protect both himself and her. While it’s easier said than done, how many death threats does it take to start taking your wife seriously? Ultimately, I believe both characters descended into madness, though he managed to more sanity than she did. An incredible book overall truly hope there’s a sequel!

WTH DID I JUST READ

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The freaking twist to this book I didn't see coming. I was close to DNFing it at 91% cause I was like idt I can handle what's coming. I'm glad I kept with it. I felt so bad for Georgia during the whole book. I hated her husband for doing her wrong. I was shocked, gobsmacked, befuddled, bewildered and everything else. This book was so good. I'm sitting her still stunned and worried whatever I pick next won't send me reeling like this did.

Lord have mercy, Georgia boy oh boy this female character is COMPLETELY unhinged buttttt you have no clue until the very end that she is certifiably insane! There is a particular scene in this book that is very triggering so please check your trigger warnings.
For a debut novela holy guacamole this was so beautifully written and so well played out. The plot was great and the spice was spicing. This is a read you definitely don’t wanna miss out on.

This book was wow. I went in completely blind, as suggested, and man, I did NOT see the ending coming!
First off, this won’t be for everyone. However, it was exactly the kind of quick, gripping read I really enjoy.
I’m not giving it 5 stars only because the ending felt a bit rushed, and I wish it had gone just a tad deeper (I can’t explain more without spoilers!). I'll just say love can't fix everything!
Still, definitely worth the read!

Ok... I'm Sorry... WHAT!!!!

I should start this by saying I went into this completely blind, wanted to spice things up a bit! If you get triggered easy, probably best you don't go in blind.

I NEVER saw that coming.... at all... It has been a very long time since a book has throw me for that much of a twist! Freaking amazing! I loved it!!

Ah this novella had me all kind of messed up and twisted because I did not see any of that ending coming nor did I suspect that to happen. I am not one of psychological kind of stories, but this one was great. The dark romance element mixed with it just right. Be sure to check your tw and be ready for a wild ride.

Girl that was dark!! I literally didn’t see anything coming! If you can go in blind do it. Sooo twisted

I can't believe that "Georgia" was suffering from post partum then ended up with did 😳 it's crazy through out the whole book you want to hate Chad but in the end it turns out he's not so bad I don't want to give to much away but this was a great read and a first read of this author very good

plot twist

So I was initially interested in this book after hearing a small tidbit on TikTok about a husband caught having an affair and the wife asking for an open marriage. It is a smoky intense read and then shit gets real. I will say I was definitely not expecting the plot twist at the end.

Normally I can guess what’s going to happen next in a book, but definitely DID NOT see that ending coming!! The twists and turns that took were wild, and had my heart pumping a mile a minute! The author did not lie when she said that there are no happy endings in this book, but it’s still sooooo good!!!

Shocking…Just WOW 4.5 ⭐️

This was a generous 3 star read up until about the last few chapters. I couldn’t believe the twist that it took. It’s one of those reads that you have to sit and look at a wall and think……. WTF did I just READ!!!!!!??????? I have not been shocked about an ending like this since Pen Pal by JT Geissinger.

3.5 🌟

I really liked it until the ending 😅 I felt like the ending wasn't what I really expected and kind of threw you through a loop. It had me questioning more things than actually be shocked by the ending. I feel the ending just took away from what was being built in the book.
