His “beast” is no match for her “beauty”… Or her crazy! Zane Murdoch’s horrific past is forever etched on his skin, marking him as a monster; making him into a monster. It’s his punishment, one that anchors him to his pain and anger. But he’s fought on, hopeful that someday he’ll find a way to conquer the beast within him. Serena Vailean can’t let go of the past, and her past can’t let go of her. In the spectral embrace of her murdered lover, it’s easy to not let go. But all that changes when Zane arrives on her doorstep, blows her off her feet, and then pulls her back into her old life… And her new future. All at once, Serena finds herself fighting. Fighting her growing feelings for Zane, fighting the urge to let go of the past, and fighting to keep her and her new friends— her clan! —from being destroyed by an old, familiar foe. Can the untamed beauty and the battered beast overcome their pasts, accept their entwined destinies, and, together, overcome this new threat… Or will they find themselves marked and haunted by even more failure?
Megan J. Parker lives in upstate New York in a small town that no one can spell or pronounce. She is normally found either hanging in her home with her fiancée, Nathan, and two evil cats that believe they are the kings of the house, or on campus at the local college sitting in the art rooms with her face plastered to the Mac-lab computers.
On her down time, she likes reading and designing new logos and videos. Her passion for telling stories is portrayed in all her work and when there's a story to tell, you can be sure she'll tell it to its full extent. She aspires to own her own design company and work in a studio where she can edit and write to her heart's content.
Laugh out loud funny!! This book has it all: humor, romance, action, and suspense. The author, Megan J. Parker, kept you guessing throughout the entire story and keep you on the edge of your seat. I never saw the ending coming! A must read for all bookworms who enjoy great stories!
Serena, one of the main characters in the story, is mourning the death of her lover Devon. She would move on but there's one little problem, Devon is now a ghost and attached to her. Serena desperately is looking for a body that Devon can take over, so they can finally be together, when a man from her father's clan shows up. Serena is a vampire and not just any vampire, she is the successor to her father's clan. Now she embarks on a journey to finding her place in the world she lives in while trying to figure out how to help Devon and her feelings toward this man she just met.
Serena is a free spirited character that I just love! She is one of those characters that you can't help but be in awe of. She was spunky, funny, and overall strong. She doesn't care what others think of her. She is confident in the person she is and will let no one bring her down. I love that about Serena because instead of whining or complaining about the situation she is in, she takes charge and makes the best of her situation with courage and strength. Plus she doesn't take any crap from anyone, including men, and isn't afraid to kick butt if she needs to. You can't help but start rooting for her to succeed in her quest!
Now Zane...I love, love, love Zane! I mean, how can you not love his character? He is a smart-aleck, witty, brave, strong....the list goes on and on. But the thing I love most about him is his humor. I swear, if you could go to college and major in smart-aleck remarks and sarcasm, Zane would graduate top of his class with flying colors! His sense of humor, his vulgar mouth, and his snarky comments had me laughing throughout the book! But my all time favorite scene was when Zane was in the airport and told off this parent in front of her kid! One word: PRICELESS!! If I was in the same situation I think I would have done the same thing. And if not, I would have died with laughter if Zane said that in front of me. I don't just love his humor, I admire his love and loyalty to Serena. He is such an amazing character and I could go on for days telling you why I love his character so much.
The supporting characters such as Zoey and Isaac were also enjoyable to read about. I love the bond of friendship that Zoey and Serena developed in this story. They are both a force to be reckon with! And I love the forbidden love that went on between Isaac and Zoey! They were so cute together, and totally meant to be together!
All in all, this was a fabulous book! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, action, and suspense filled books with hilarious characters!
My favorite parts:
"Had your fill yet?" He frowned. "Not just yet," she chuckled, making a show of looking over his form one last time, "But you do seem to be in something of a hurry. Maybe later I’ll let you tie me to the train tracks, eh Snidely?”
“Aw! Poor Zaney, are we still cranky about being scolded earlier? I thought you were all better.”
“That’s right! Run off, you chicken-shit bastard!” Serena shouted after him and went to move forward.
I’d say all your reassurance has put us both in such a positive frame of mind that we may just burst into song. So, while I’m eager to have more of your sunshine blown up our asses, I’d hate to cause an untimely death on your staff with my lyrical exuberance. So how ‘bout you give us a moment alone with our friend, huh?”
My father once told me that what separates a good leader from a great leader lies between knowing you’re good enough and admitting when others are better.”
The two prequels to this series were great so I had high expectations for the full novel. I was not disappointed in the least. I am adding this author to my list of faves. I love her style of writing and look forward to more books by this author, especially the sequel to this story!
Serena is haunted by the ghost of her lover Devon. The two of them together are searching for a body for him to possess so that they can be together once again. Serena is a spit-fire, a strong woman who'll call you on your BS. I love reading a story about women like this instead of ones that are whiny or dependent on a man to take care of them for everything. I enjoy the fact that she feels love and wants her love in her life but she can take care of herself when she needs to.
Zane...well I just want to freaking hang out with this guy. His snarky comments, his vulgar mouth, his sense of humor...he's my kind of people! My favorite scene with him is in line at the airport with the child in front of them. It was hilarious and sounds just like how i would have reacted in the situation! But don't make him angry, because you won't like him when he's angry...Ok actually I still really liked him when he was angry. Build me up buttercup? Hilarious!
Zoey, I love her relationship with Serena, the girl bond they have. I also love how she can put Zane in his place. Most of all I enjoyed how she and Isaac were together.
This story contained many aspects that I personally had never read before and it stood out for me and was very unique. It has enough variety in it that this will appeal to more people. Those who like romance, those who like mostly action, those who enjoy vulgar humor, it has it all and all of it is evenly placed to make it that much more enjoyable.
This gained a well deserve 5 stars in my book. I never even had to think twice about how many stars to give, I'd give 10 if I could. I highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading Book 2 in the series!!
A truly paranormal packed YA romance that keeps you on your toes from start to finish! Full of action, betrayal, friendship, love and some of the most amazing paranormal elements I’ve experienced. All cleverly written and very original compared to what we normally see (read). Any fan of the genre will fully enjoy their time reading Scarlet Night.
Serena left her family and her clan long ago to escape the feeling of being confined and the responsibility’s that are to come her way. She wants nothing to do with any of it or any of them. She spends all of her time hiding, running, fighting until the day comes she is found and gives in to what is meant to be for her. She now has what she never wanted and more when she finds she is extremely attracted to the one that brought her back home, Zane.
Zane has been cursed long ago for reasons that still remain unclear. He’s strong, handsome, determined and confused. His anger overpowers him and his inner beast takes control leaving nothing but death and destruction in its path. He has no control what-so-ever over the outcome of the beast’s rage, that’s until the day he meets Serena and brings her back to the compound. Everything goes haywire, some in the very best of ways, some in the very worst.
Both characters went through great character growth and drastic changes that make them even more likable than they were from the start. I look forward to what’s to come in the next book. The ending was left pretty wide open (UGH), so I cannot even take a guess on what will happen with Serena, Zane, and their old and new friends. I do know it’s going to pack quite a punch! Due to language use I recommend readers to be at least 17 years of age. There are sexual situations, but none very graphic or erotic.
I didn't bother to read the book description before requesting a copy of this book to review. My decision was based solely on the cover art and the author's name. Although I've bought books by this author, I'd not yet gotten around to reading them. The cover art is reminiscent of the Crimson Shadow series, so I followed a hunch that proved right.
Scarlet Night is set in the world of Nathan Squiers' Crimson Shadow. As soon as I saw there were therions in the story, I knew I'd hit gold. Yeah, I've really got it that bad for this series. This story moves fast. Real fast. Something is always moving - the action, emotions, dialogue. Serena, the daughter of the leader of the Vail clan of vampires, left home after a disagreement with him. She's accompanied by the ghost of her boyfriend, Devon. They've been searching for a body for him so they can be together again.
Someone from her father's clan has found her and is demanding she return with him. Serena has quite the talent for annoying commentary guaranteed to anger who ever the unlucky target may be. She does a good job of it with Zane until he tells her he is there because her father has died and she's inherited the mantle of leadership for the clan.
Because of a curse that was set on Zane several years ago, he transforms to a monster when his anger becomes too great. Unfortunately for him, his body isn't designed to handle that transformation, so when it happens too often, he's in trouble. Serena manages to get him and Zoey back to the clan home after a fight in public before the police show up to make things even more interesting.
Now Zane is laid out in bed while a medical technician is running off at the mouth about his condition. Serena, pretty much fed up with the lack of tact from the technician, just lays into him with some of the funniest, sharpest, sarcastic commentary I've ever been fortunate enough to read. I laughed so hard I had tears running down my face.
Give me something set in this world and I'm a happy person. I started reading this book toward the end of my shift and seriously debated whether to go home when my relief came in, or staying to finish the story. He was in a bad mood so I went home. Even so, that was a tough choice. I so wasn't ready to stop reading. This story has everything I've come to expect from this worldscape - tension, conflict, people breaking all the rules and making their own and a bit of romance.
This story fit seamlessly into the world Squiers created. The characters were wonderful, the writing is excellent and the editing nearly perfect. But I have to say... what the heck is that at the end?! She left me hanging with my head was reeling.
I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received this book from Megan in exchange for an honest review and I just have to say THANK YOU!!!
First I would like to tell Miss Megan... YOU'RE KILLING ME! And now that I have expressed my current torture, I can get on with the review.
I started with the prequels to this fabulous book which give a short back story to Vane and Serena and where their lives were at the moment before they met, but even without those very short shorts, you can start from page one of Scarlet Night and have absolutely no problem falling madly in love with these awesome characters.
Vane Murdoch is a vampire with a curse. Though there is no history of why he received this blasted tattoo- which by description alone sounds incredibly hot- we know that he had to have done something horrible. Placed on him by the Taroe, a group of humans with immense magical knowledge, the Curse comes out anytime Zane lets his rage fly, causing him terrible pain, and transforming him into a hideous, powerful beast that's hell bent on a murderous rampage regardless of who is in the cross hairs. After the leader of his vampiric clan, Gregori Vailean, is murdered, the responsibility of finding the lost Heir to the throne is pushed to him. And he's pissed about it.
Serena Vailean is a powerful, sarcastic, foul-mouthed female Auric who ran from everything she'd known after having to much of her father's control, straight into a Hunters arms. After finding love like she'd never known, then losing it in a horrible fire, her life has been reduced to living in a ramshackle cabin in the middle of nowhere, constantly searching for a body for her ghostly lover that stays with her out of love. Or at least that's what she thinks.
When our two hard headed, foul mouth hero's find each other they are instantly attracted, but that doesn't stop the auric fists from flying of course.
We follow Zane, Serena, Zoey- the bubbly Auric with more power than anyone realizes- Isaac, and many others in their journey to save the clan of Vail from Keith, Serena's power hungry, sociopath brother who is hell bent on destroying everything his father ever built.
A powerful love, some of the best shit talking I've heard in a LONG time, awesomely exciting ass kicking, and drop dead Mytho's make this novel one of the best I've read in a long time.
I would give this novel far more stars than allowed, but since they stop at five, that's what I'll have to settle for. Definitely a high recommendation to any that love Vampires, Shifters, smart mouthed hero's, strong females and exciting adventures.
I was given this book in return for an honest review. Serena is the spoiled brat daughter of Gregori, the leader of his clan. Zane is the vampire sent by the now deceased Gregori to find Serena. He wishes her to lead the clan, or The Counsel will apoint his son, Kieth, as clan leader. Zane has a little rage problem that tends to put him a bit off track throughout the book. He was tattood with a curse, a curse that plays off of his inability to control his temper. When he gets angry, he turns into a blood thirsty monster that will kill anything, can't distinguish friend from enemy at that point, it takes a toll on his body too, as he is not shifter and the beast he turns into is massive. Zane finds Serena and convinces her to return to the clan headquarters with him. Her dead, ghost boyfriend who is attached to her aura, Devon, takes over Zanes body for a short time so he can be with Serena. Zoey, an auric vampire, is bubbly and sweet. She greets them and goes off for a walk meeting a Therion, who almost kills her. Turns out Keith has a plan of his own, to take over and destroy the clan and is controlling the Therion so they will help him. Zane and Serena are developing feelings for each other, this brings out the jealous side of ghost Devon. Zane, Zoey, and Serena must come up with a plan to keep themselves and the rest of the clan safe from not only Keith, but the counsel that he has been lying too. With the help of the Therions previously under Keiths control, a witch from the tribe that cursed Zane, and Maledictus they must battle Keith and try to convince the counsel not to wipe them off the face of the earth. This book was awesome, full of action, some romance, some gut busting humor, and a twisted ending that I never saw coming. This book will lead into a tie in with Nathan Squiers, Crimson Shadows series with Xander Stryker. I cannot wait for the next installment. WaAr
Ebook: Scarlet Night Author: Megan J Parker Fiction, paranormal This review may contain spoilers I was given this by the author for an honest review Summary: ** The story beyond the #1 Amazon bestselling anthology, "Dark Light" ** Zane Murdoch just got a tattoo. The problem is, the tattoos are a magically infused curse that turns him into a raging beast and the only hope he has of curing it is absolving his rage. Seems simple enough until he and his clan are nearly demolished in a powerful attack. Now Zane finds himself involved in a paranormal battle of mystical proportions and breaking the curse may be a bit more challenging than he thought. Serena Vailean is alone in the world and quite frankly that's how she likes it… At least until she finds a way to bring back her dead lover, Devon Thomas. Unfortunately for her, plans have a nasty way of changing and she finds herself thrust back into the world she's been trying so desperately to escape. Her only hope is to seek help from the very people she has gone to great lengths to avoid. As an epic battle approaches, Serena and Zane must rely on each other and overcome their personal demons if they plan to survive. Unfortunately, caging a demon makes them all the harder to control. The Review I really liked this book, there were so many twists & turns, the action was just awesome, full on fun, there are a lot of swear words, so if you are easily offended Please be prepared, We have a whole collection of various paranormal entities in this one, there is bound to something for everyone, I will warn you though, there is a cliff-hanger at the end, that had me wanting more, The author wrote this extremely well, I loved the plotline to this story, the characters were very complex and each had their own part in this story, I believe there are a couple of prequels which I have not read yet, but I would be putting them in my TBR pile after reading this little beauty, highly recommended to my friends & other readers, 5/5
Wow, after having read the two prequels that greatly lead the path to this the full novel, I was so eager to start “Scarlet Night”!!
Prequels: The Fighter by Nathan Squiers (Zane’s side) The Lover by Megan J. Parker (Serena‘s side)
What an amazing epic story, Serena by far is my favorite character! I love her spunky quirky ways and attitude.
For lovers of paranormal with a kick butt twist, then The Scarlet Night is definitely for you. It’s chalk a block full of humor, romance loss, love, full blown revenge and of course paranormal.
Then Megan throws in mystery, action, ghosts, monsters, vampires and Therions!! Told you it was a full action packed book with a bit for all lovers of this genre. AND if that wasn’t enough we are left with one doozie of a cliffhanger. Ughhh dang them cliffhangers, I’d like to meet the person who invented the word, oh wait they are called AUTHORS. Geshhh god a love them, yes I do. *nods head*
A definite roller coaster with blind corners that will catch you your not strapped into your seat. (buckle up) So hang on tight and in there till it all becomes clear. I can’t wait till the next book comes out in this series.
Serena, Zane, Gregori, Keith, Devon, Zoey and Therions are all in the running in this book, fighting for their spot in the view.
Serena is a vampire living life in self exile, alone except for her dead fiancé’s ghost, Devon. She cannot let go insisting on looking for a body for him to occupy. Things change however when a fellow vampire, Zane pays a visit. He wants her to return to her clan, to help him.
Their first encounter doesn’t run smooth but she still agrees to leave with him. Something about him fascinates her and her him. Serena soon learns that he isn’t a mere vampire, there is a monster living inside him and it wants to come out and play. But that’s not their only problem, there is another force, a rival that wants to destroy the entire clan. Are Serena and Zane up for the battle?
There is a real mixture of supernatural in here, vampire, ghosts, monsters and a new species, therions. Vampires fight in a new and unusual way in this book, which I like as an extension of their powers. The pace is fast, never quite letting up and the language is strong, I felt I was in the middle of a biker gang once or twice. Obviously it is only a personal opinion, but the bad language is constant and stopped the flow for me once or twice. I liked the inner turmoil from Zane and how Serena could calm his rage.
There was the odd editing mistake, I remember seeing ‘sis’ instead of ‘his’ but nothing major. It is an intriguing story with a twist and boy what a cliffhanger. If you like an easy vampire/monster read with plenty of action, this could be for you.
Disclaimer: I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Supernatural beings, curses, and foul mouths, what an awesome combination! Serena is a vampire, heir to an entire clan. Her dead human boyfriend, Devon, is attached to her aura until they find him a new body. And then there's Zane, the big ol' brute of a vampire who's been cursed with tattoos that bring out the monster inside him. Throw in another auric vampire friend, her forbidden therion lover, and a whole mess of complications from outside, yet familiar, sources, and you have a recipe for a great story.
Serena and Zane crack me up, and some of the barbs they shoot at each other had me almost crying I was laughing so hard. Then there's Zoey and Isaac, two very different beings who can't help but be together, even though it might be the death of them both. Finally, Devon only wants to be back with Serena, but he may get more than he bargained for after inhabiting Zane's body for a one-night romp in the woods. Wonderful story, hilarious dialogue, and great characters you actually want to read about. I'm looking forward to more of this plot and these characters, as I just don't think one book is enough.
5 stars, absolutely great
"What's this about Megatron taking over?" "Don't be a prepubescent b***h-boy, Zane!"
Serena is dragged back into her old life when Zane “a cursed vampire” steps into the picture. A fight for the clan between Serena and Keith began to happen.
At first, I thought this book was really cool. Vampires, fights, a really unique style to a vampire story. I liked how the vampires had “auras” and could fight with them. That was really cool! And Serena had a dead lover that was stuck in her aura. A lot of the lore and style of this book was very well written and cool. I also thought the fact that Zane was cursed and could turn into a monster was really unique.
Several times I almost stopped reading this book because the language was outright horrible. I mean I’ve read books with the F word a bunch. But this just felt like an onslaught of dirty language. I started not liking any of the characters and actually skipped some of their dirty dialogue. Just…blach. Too much for me. Then the love story aspect of this story was very much the same for me. Just more lustful then an actual love story. I know a lot of people are into “instant” love stories, but for me I just find them unrealistic. I honestly thought there was a lot of cool aspects (mostly the auras and unique vampire tale) but the lustful relationships and language destroyed this book for me.
I was given a copy of this book free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This story is a follow up to the prequels The Lover and The Fighter. It continues the story of vampires Serena and Zane who both belong to the same clan and also features her dead fiancée Devon. The journey they take to protect their vampire clan is fraught with danger and we meet shifters (Therions) along the way. These natural enemies must somehow overcome their natural instincts in order to survive. I enjoyed this romp through the paranormal world that the author has created. Vampires, shifters, ghosts witches and monsters! Passion and love and greed all add to the adventure that this story takes. I loved the feisty Serena and her sense of humour not to mention her attitude! I was pleasantly surprised by the humour and adored comments from Zane referring to horses! The airport scene was just hilarious and complemented the action nicely. Add In a bad guy called Keith! And you can tell that this is no run of the mill paranormal read. I thoroughly recommend it and would rate this a 4 and a half More please

I received this book from the author for an honest review.
What a great story! This was one of those stories that had so much going on you couldn't put it down until it was done. Action packed from the first page on, Scarlet Night will be a story that stays with you long after you turn the last page.
Serena is a lone vampire, living with a ghosted lover in the middle of the woods. Running away from her past she never expected it to come crashing back in the form of Zane a half vampire half monster who wears cursed tattoos and was sent to find her by her now dead father. Now they must work together with what is left of their clan to fight the one vampire responsible for her father's death and who wants complete power.. her brother Keith. But in order to win Zane must learn to tame the beast inside him and Serena must find the courage to return to a life she left and say goodbye to a piece of her past.
This is a must read for underworld romance enthusiasts who love vampires, therions and some ghostly encounters. I can't wait for the next book!
10*s+…I recieved an eARC copy of this book directly from the author in return for an honest review……… WOW…Megan J Parker has made me speechless!! This is a fabulously exciting and action packed story full of romance, love, loss, revenge, killing, and humor, and I just couldn't put it down. When I did have to put it down, all I thought about was getting back to the story to find out would happen next!! This fabulously written and I fell in love with the characters and their unique and quirky personalities. Of course I am a sucker for female heroines who speak their minds and run the show as well, and I was totally addicted and fasinated with Serena!! I absolutely can't wait to see what is in store for our characters in the next book. I loved the comment made about Xander Stryker too. This is a MUST read 18+ ONLY book that leaves quite a cliffhanger!! Thank you, Megan, for the opportunity to read this remarkable story!!
I love anything and everything written by these two authors. The story that they can weaver keeps you not only entertained but engaged. You WANT to find out what is going on with the main characters, you find yourself falling in love with the series right after you read book one. If you have read the Prequels to this story then you know who the main characters are and why they are the way they are. I would say you do not have to read them to read this story first but it is a quick fun read to do. Zane is dealing with his demons like he always has been and that is with liquor! Serena is fighting her past and doesn't want to look into the future but when Zane and Serena meet she becomes able to open up to him and tame the beast within him. But can they survive what someone close to Serena has planned? There is plenty of fighting, feelings up to the surface so much is told within the story that you don't want it to end!
This is a YA paranormal romance that starts off with a lot of action from the opening chapter. The vampire, Serena, her lover, Devon and the ‘monster’ Zane with the glowing tats, were involved in first a physical fight between Serena and Zane and then a romantic tryst between, Serena, Devon and Zane. Serena left her family and her clan a long time ago to gain her freedom and escape the responsibilities she knew would one day fall on her as the daughter of the head of the clan. She spent a good deal of her time hiding, running and fighting to remain free, that was until the ‘monster’ Zane found her and told her father had died. There would be no more running for her, not only because she could no longer shirk her responsibilities, but she had fallen madly in love with the ‘monster’ Zane. The book was well written with some amazing paranormal elements. Fan of the paranormal will enjoy this book.
Not too far from "aweful"... ok there was WAY too much studder with her characters durring surprise, pain, or passion. Speaking off passion this author is too shy to go into detail and spice things up for you during the romance scenes in fact she skipped a lot and basically goes to the end and adds, "and he took her under the stars" or whatever similarity was written in the book. Don't even get me started on the characters! Very lame and immature I couldn't stand it plus there was WAY too much poor language the could have been used in two books let alone ONE..I hated the end and a couple of things going on at the end of the book to try and make it a cliff hanger, why? the book was god awful.. I won't be reading more of her books or recommending anything. this story was very childish to me and just plane boring this story didn't seem to lead anywhere for me.
I was a little apprehensive about this book because my first thought was "hmmmm yet another vampire story". Within the first chapter though I was hooked! This definitely isn't just "another vampire story" and the lore involved was different from any other I'd ever seen. The characters just draw you in from the start and you can't help but love them for all their strengths and flaws. The descriptions were vivid and detailed, making it easy to picture every detail, and the story was..well, Wow! Twist after turn after twist. Very little was predictable, and it definitely held my attention the entire time. I am awaiting the next one with bated breath! Ms. Parker has definitely become one of my favorite authors. 5 stars!
Megan J. Parker Scarlet Night Book 1 in the Scarlet Night Series
I fell in love with the characters during the prequels “The Lover” and “The Fighter”, so couldn’t wait to read this, and thankfully I was far from disappointed.
The author has a great writing style, is very descriptive and the characters all develop further, and with more being introduced throughout the book, the reader is transported into an unforgettable paranormal world.
Scarlet Night is full of twists and turns, action, romance and fighting which will keep the reader gripped throughout. This book will take you on a roller coaster of a ride, and lead you to an ending that will leave you wanting more.
I was given this e-book in exchange for an honest review and like the many new authors books I have recently reviewed, I really enjoyed it.
Be warned, there is a fair amount of strong language used but in a comical way. Some of the most action-packed scenes made me laugh because of Serena and Zane’s banter.
Serena has the uncanny ability to irritate anyone and get under their skin without trying. Her bluntness is refreshing and sets her apart from ‘ordinary’ female protagonists in paranormal fiction.
As with all captivating stories, this ends with a cliff-hanger, and has me confused to know what will happen next!
"Scarlet Night" by Megan J, Parker is a great blend of romance with several supernatural elements. It is an easy read and captivating. Princess Serena is still longing to reunite with her ghost lover when she hears about her father's death. The clan that she belongs to is heading for a big fight between the rightful successor Selena and challenger Keith. Help comes from vampire Zane, whose tattoos are causing him serious anger management issues. This a fast paced and entertaining book, well written with colourful characters and lots of actions. Beware of the coarse language, it is not for the easily offended!
First of all, this book was given to me by the author in return for a honest review, from the FA of the month event at WaAr (on Facebook). As always I will not summarize the book, you have to read it yourself.
Let me start by saying I liked it. I thought it was funny, interesting and had just the right amount of action. I did like the fact that it was a little different then your typical Vampire story. At first the whole 'Aura' stuff threw me off, but after I continued reading on I actually like it. It made it interesting. The cliffhanger was kind of what I expected and didn't like it... (I write that with a smirk because I want to know how it continues)
absolutely loved the storyline. sibling rivalry is always good, the way that magic and vamps revolved around it was brilliant. Serena the one that left the family clan due to disagreement with her father spent years with her lover Devon a ghost, unril lovely fierce incredibly hot Zane came looking for her. trouble with the clan brings her home to found it upside down and falling in love with someone who has heaps of problems himself. what I loves most about this book was it was non stop, a page turner, full of action, love, humour and trounles at every corner. can't wait for next instalment so need answers.... who's nikki really ro Zane? and where the hell sid Zane go? waar
This story has everything I look for in a paranormal – Vampires, Therions, ghost, monsters, action, mystery, romance, witty banter and let’s not forget…a cliffhanger that left me saying ‘…BUT???!!!’. It took me a little while to get into the book but once I was hooked and there was no putting it down. It was like riding a roller coaster for the first time in the dark. You’re not quite sure where you’re going but once you get there you just want to do it again. Looking forward to the next installment. Well done, Miss Parker.
Holy smokes this book is amazing! I could not put it down amd wanted to cry when it was over! Serena finds out her father is dead and she is willed to take over the vampire coven. Zane locates Serena and brings her back to the coven. Serena's brother is pissed and starts a war. This book is fast paced and ends too soon! This book does have some sexy men and some sexy scenes included! Can't wait to find out what the cliffhangers about! WaAR
I was given this book by the author in return for an honest opinion! WOW!!! What an epic tale this is and an extremely brilliant one at that! Having read the prequel's to this I was excited to finally be reading the "actual" book! The character's are excellent and the story that unfolds along the way with Serena, Zane and the other clan-mates is brilliant! This is paranormal on a whole other level!!! Cannot wait to read the second book!!!!
I was very impressed with the story, it was writen so well that it pulled me in without even realizing it. One minute it was just a story and the next I am in tears over something, yes, litteral tears. It was easy to familiarize myself with the characters that's how well written the story is.
I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who likes drama, romance, fighting, and sarcasm dripping fast...lol I myself cannot wait for more, I just hope it's not to long.
