Just yesterday, she was a 20-year-old working at the diner to make ends meet.
But today, at 21, she finds herself being whisked away to a school of magic to develop her powers.
They claim she has four, but that seems impossible; her alcoholic mother can barely function and her father ran away when she was just an infant.
How could there be any magic in her blood?
And as if that wasn't enough, three of the most attractive men at the school seem to have taken notice of her as well...

Umm wow what a way for the series to kick off!

Cass has done it again, creating another incredible series that hooks you in.
A paranormal, slow burn, RH style book based in an adult prep school with the mean girls you want to unalive asap!

With a fiesty, strong minded fmc who has a drunk as a mother and an unknown father she works her butt off to make sure she keeps a roof over her head. But the morning of her 21st birthday changes everything when she is summoned to Oakland Harbour (a paranormal prep school) where her life changes in a thousand ways and the truth comes out!!

And god the MMC'S yes not one, not two but Three perfectly described paranormal gods that are so duche at the start it will make you cringe, untill they get served a heavy dose of reality and are fully called out on their crud. 💩

This book has had me gasping, gripping my collar and yelling.
It is a must read ASAP!!

NOW ON TO THE SECOND I GO.
Because that to be continued has me in a chokehold!

Thank you in advance Cass for my lack of sleep tonight 😈

My first complaint.
Starting this book, if it hadn't been a part of the description, I would never had known it was a paranormal themed series.
The school isn't explained.
For a girl who has zero knowledge of the supernatural, she oddly n just accepts everything.
We have no who her guide is. With his cryptic comment of FOR NOW...
Idk. I'll check the next book but so far...I'm not impressed.

Ok...

This was ok. With an editor it could be better. It was kind of all over the place. There was no cohesion to the storylines like the intensions of all the characters changed chapter by chapter. Also, it felt like the author just kept throwing out clichés and hoping one would stick. Thr actions and reactions of the mcs were just impossible to figure out. Like a strange man turns up at her door and tells her she has ten minutes to pack a bag and go somewhere she's allegedly never heard of- and she just does it!! Not a single question asked she just goes into her room and packs her sh!t!!!! And the guys are excited by her arrival then don't trust her then are suddenly obsessed with her. Urgh. Also, silly things like spending literal paragraphs complaining about the skirts length but then saying she put something in her jeans pocket and Orlando has a shower "to wash away the day's grime" before dinner. Then has a shower "to wash away the day's grime" immediately after dinner, too. Get an editor!
