Avery once more is on the prowl of Demon, this time because they are attacking innocent humans. Once again this is a fast paced story full of excitement and intrigue. S.L. Gavyn does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life in such a way that it draws the reader in to the story. You’re not just a passenger along for the ride; you’ve got a front seat to the action at hand as it happens. I do wish that the stories were a little longer though; they’re so riveting that I finished reading it in just a few short hours!
I love a book with a kick-ass heroine and a deep, complicated relationship with her love interest. Avery and Jared are an interesting enigma. The plotting is fast and engrossing. The only reason I didn’t rate this a 5* was because the ending just....came.. nothing resolved. It just dropped the story off a cliff. It certainly “forces” you to buy the next instalment- frustrating to say the least.
I dub this Jared and Avery's story!!! Cuz I love both of them!!
Fate has not been kind when it comes to the relationship between Jared and Avery. When Jared finds out the truth about Avery's lineage he doesn't take it well leaving her abruptly. She finds comfort in the only person who has made her feel good, her reliable friend Craven. But when news spread of her relationship with the Vampire, Jared and the rest of the Fallen feel betrayed. Trying to pull together a relationship that was doomed from the start is the least of her worries. Demon have been making more random appearances, and not only that, but bodies and once again been showing up.
It would seem a new threat has invaded the city and once again Avery seems to be the target, but why? That is what she intends to find out. When lies about her past are revealed, it changes and clears up a number of things. Her fate seems to be set, and it does not look good! Turning to every person she can, she needs all hands on deck to get out of this one. But the head of the Coven starts acting shady, The leader of the band Darkened and Fallen seems to have lost his mind and priorities, and the a Demon King has come to claim Avery as his and plans to marry and bring Avery back to Hell.
The Fey debut in this one acting as a partner to Avery! With all these scrumptious men in this book it's no wonder I finished so quickly ;) Im addicted! I can't wait for more of Jared and Avery!!!

Gavyn is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors, I’ve got all of the other books on my To Be Read list and as soon as I can I am going to read the rest of them.
This is another good one but I'm not happy with the book ending so abruptly. Like, really abruptly. The case wasn't solved and callum just Is up and leaving in one paragraph? Lame. It was interesting to see what the author did with Jared character... definitely took a 180 there. Would like to have heard some more about Brent but the last chapter just skipped to a month later and callum leaving. So we don't know about Jared, the servant, Brent, or the case. On the other hand this is another well written book (aside from the ending) and I can't wait to read the next one
