Independent jewelry designer, Ivy Marlow, had it all – the man, the security and the ring. Now, all she has to her name are a broken engagement, the crushing worry of a flailing business and the haunting feeling of complete betrayal.

The last thing Ivy expected to find attending a posh New York art show was him. Jax Walker is everything she doesn’t need but can’t resist. He’s gorgeous, brazen, unapologetic and powerful. He becomes the escape Ivy has been craving and longing for. He knows what she needs, anticipates her desires and offers it all to her, but at what price?

What once seemed to be a chance encounter designed by fate becomes more enigmatic than the man himself. Jax is full of secrets and Ivy is about to learn that his obsession for her runs deeper and darker than she ever imagined.

Deborah Bladon had never read a romance hero she didn't like. Her love for romance novels began when she was old enough to board the bus, library card in hand to check out the newest Harlequin paperbacks. She was a Canadian by heart, and by passport, but you could often spot her in New York City sipping a latte and looking for inspiration for her next story. Manhattan was definitely her second home.

She cherished her family and believed that each day was a gift for writing, for reading, and for loving.

Beğenmedim.
Yani ressam olsa, müzisyen olsa, çini işi olsa, oya basma fln jdkcldğf ama adam o sırada çıktığı kadının kolunda gördüğü mücevherden etkilenip kadını terk ediyor ve kızın peşine düşüyor.
He.
Aynen.

Neden?

Sorry.

Length: 2375 kindle
Style: Contemporary Romance
Story: GOOD
Intimacy level: Sex-citingly FLIRTY / GOOD
Enjoyment: GOOD
Series: The Obsess Series (book# 1)

Damn you, Deborah Bladon, I need to know what happens A.S.A.P, I don't know if I can wait on book 2. Sometimes I detest these cliffhangers / three and two part series. However, apart from that, I enjoyed this novella. It felt as though it would have been just another blah read for my personal taste, but I was really enthralled in the story line and what was taking place between each characters.

Jax Walker is very calculating, manipulative, demanding, aggressive and seems a bit ruthless in certain ways that you may not know about. But with those traits played out in Obsessed, it was a turn on seeing his demeanor changes depending on the situation at hand when it comes to Ivy. In Jax's world, it's like a giant chess board and everyone are pieces that he moves around and plays with. Apart from that, he is very sexy and I love his encounter with Ivy in the bathroom, creepy, but very hot. I can admit his personality can come off a bit scary and cold at times but also sweet which works to his advantage and he does it so well in the story. Ivy has a very interesting situation with the people she surrounds herself with, she isn't able to trust anyone. I mean with friends like Liz, who needs enemies and with bosses like Maddie, who seems thirsty, you would think there was a drought of men in Manhattan.

Of course I had a few eye rolling moments throughout reading and I also hate that I have to wait. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and I am hoping that the author carries the same memento through to book 2. If you like your men a bit aggressive, with a hint of controlling tendencies mix with sexy, then you will enjoy Jax and crave more as the story unfolds. If that isn't your thing then you may be unsatisfied. With each reader it defiantly boils down to taste and what you look for in your story and men.

** Review for the series total can be found here: Still Obsessed **

"Not now. Not yet."

Jax Walker quickly became one of my favourite book boyfriends:

"It was nice meeting you, Jax."
"Your pleasure was all mine." He lightly runs his fingertips over my palm. "Wait... I mean..." His dark eyes look directly into me as he continues, "no, that's exactly what I mean."

"I want to drown in the taste of you, Ivy, in the feeling of you."

"You're quickly becoming my everything."

I loved how Jax started signing himself as "Your fanboy" in notes after this conversation:

"Or are you a Brighton Beck fanboy?"
"A fanboy? I'm not familiar. What's a fanboy?"
"If you have to ask, you're not one."
"I take it that's a good thing?"
"It is a good thing."

Deborah Bladon is my newest favourite author, and definitely one to watch. Her book is sensual and steamy, and her character's are so real. I couldn't help but getting completely absorbed by Ivy's story, the way she felt as her relationship with Jax complicated and developed. Deborah makes you feel like you're there.

I inhaled this book wayyyyy faster than I wanted to because I just couldn't put it down. I hope you do better than I did, and make this one last. I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for the next book.

Thank you for making my night Deborah and hurry up with that next book!!!

3.49★★★ Obsessed by Deborah Bladon (The Obsessed Series part 1)

The million dollar question,
 photo mean-girls-why-are-you-so-obsessed-with-me.gif
And every time she get a few answers, then she's like
 photo selena-gomez-stalker-thomas-brodnicki-returns.gif
I think her common sense is severely lacking.

This really isn't something new, many times I thought hey that's like that book or this movie but then it would spin just a bit. I'm also not really feeling the characters. Although I do like Ivy's sarcasm. It has my curiosity enough to move on to part 2, but seriously if I have to see
 photo hello-sugar.gif
any more, I might have to draw the line. I seriously can't stand that, and that it comes from a 27 year old female is just weird.

This book is a mess, the heroine is a spineless twat, her best friend is a horribly petty person who screws with her nasty fiancé for years and male love interest is a stalker.

Ivy is this perfect, special Mary Sue and all men want her. Her ex is this nasty asshole, who has cheated on her with multiple women including her idiot best friend. Every single male character in this book is a creeper and everyone finds her hot. Her best friend Liz is a two face bitch that has slept with her boyfriend, Mark, for years and when everything is exposed she attacks Ivy and draws blood.

This book is infuriating in its stupidity, pettiness and juvenile writing. Everyone is also terribly inappropriate, her female boss takes Ivy for drinks, gets drunk and starts asking Ivy questions about her sex life with her ex. A secretary she has never met before tells Ivy her husband bought one of her jewellery creations and every time they have sex she puts it on. What the fuck? Strangers don't tell each other this type of things.

I should also mention that the main romantic relationship is beyond dumb and Jax sounds obsessed with Ivy. He collects her jewellery line, asked her intensely intimate questions about her person life and it is implied that he has kept tabs on her and her life. That is just not hot, okay, that is sick and stalker like.

Move over, Christian Grey and make room for Jax Walker.

There aren't enough cold showers in the world to quell the heat. Do yourself a favour and read the most promising new adult romance novel of 2014.

When I hear the word 'obsessed', I get a little excited. Why? Because I sorta kinda love the crazy ones. Like Hudson, Lanie and Clay. They are crazy, we know this, but we love them all the same. Now imagine my disappointment when the word 'obsessed' didn't even fit half the bill of what I am familiar with or expected :(

He was obsessed yes, but certainly not with what or whom I expected. Honestly, I am even questioning if he was obsessed with anything at all. I've read this story line before in 'Miss Taken' by Cleo Scornavacca. This is a younger cast with different anchors, but the concepts are terribly similar, to my eyes at least.

I wasn't blown away, which is unfortunate when it comes to the topic of obsession and how far both characters and author will go, to get us wrapped up in the crazy. The sex scenes were where I lost interest mostly and I completely spaced out a couple times. I didn't hate the story, because until I found out his motive, at the literal cliffhanger ending, I was fairly engaged.

I like Ivy. Not a fan of her name though, which is strange. I keep calling her Liz which I am pretty sure would piss her off in light of the circumstances o.O
She was fiery, witty confident, brazen and reserved. It's all a flaming contradiction, but it works. She carries this story well and kept me interested enough to finish and want the continuation.

I am indifferent to the character that is Jax, even when I see that pretty boy has secrets at the end of this novel. I have no problem with them as a couple, but I don't feel a pull or heat towards their characters. I kept waiting for those crazy moments to separate him from the story and give him his own stamp, but he just currently feels like a space saver. Like, we need a hero, so tag your it!

We started to learn things about him, once again, at the literal end of the novel and from every one else but him. I still don't really know him though. He seems to have a lot of money, is "obsessed" with Ivy and can be quite the douche without even knowing it. That's all I got so far that's of any importance.

I like the curve ball that was thrown at Ivy, even if it was a little horrendous and laced with murder potential. I would have liked her to lash out more and give us some of that sarcastic, fiery Ivy from the first chapter. She was grown and went after what she wanted. Financially though, I just can't seem to understand her. Normally, I don't meddle in the finances of characters, but this book makes you stop and take a look. It's too confusing to sort but she needs to put a handle on that!

This is a short story, novella type actually. It's a little bit more pages than a novella in 'The Arrangement Series' by H.M. Ward. Not surprising, but it gives us more timeline, issues, conflict, plot and story line than an 'Arrangement Series' novel.

I was uber excited to read this book and even had problems choosing between it and another when the time came. I saved this for last, thinking I was using the "save the best for last" philosophy, but I was wrong. While not a complete dull, as it was too short to feel that way, I was definitely not as excited about this series as before I read it.

The elements that keeps you yearning for more and pacing like a crazy person was missing. Not bland, but certainly not brilliant either. I didn't even want more conflict, as much as I wanted more realistic interactions and to feel with and for these characters. I was neither sympathetic or passionate about their present and previous relationships.

It seems crying, hysterics and drama runs in the blood of these characters. Doesn't take much to elicit one or the other from this set. I won't right off this story and while I do want to see what will happen next, I am not as excited as I would want to be based on the topic of the novel. I truly hope the next novel will allow us to interact and gain some emotional traction with the characters, especially Jax.

Liz is a wreck, Mark is annoying, Ivy is witty, Ms. Adams is a star and Jax is Jax. I figure there is much more to all these characters, I just hope I will be able to obsess over them as I thought I'd be doing.

I'm honestly... I'm so confused about how anyone can like this book. Like, genuinely completely confused.

I read the first half, hated it, and had to stop because of how ridiculous and contrived the entire "plot" is. Then I decided to give it a second chance because I read some of the reviews here and people seem to love it. Jax has been compared to Christian Grey, and people led me to believe that the love scenes would be so hot that I would basically burst into flame.

No.

Honestly not even close.

Not only did I roll my eyes throughout ever single love scene between the two of them (and nearly every single scene in the book in general), but I was confused about what the story was actually about for most of the book. Sometimes some things are better left unsaid. This can build a sense of intimacy between the characters, leaving the reader wondering what the other person is thinking or feeling or desiring. When you leave the wrong things unsaid, you have no hope for a decent story. Everything felt forced and rushed, as if the author couldn't wait to get to the point, but then she never actually made her point.

Look, I like "obsession" stories just as much as the next gal, but my god it has to be at least SOMEWHAT believable. There is no basis for his obsession. None. I hardly even know anything about the characters enough to understand the obsession or to even write this review, frankly. There was no character development, no explanation of who they are or what they're about. Literally - LITERALLY - the only thing I know about Jax is that he's rich and obsessed with Ivy. There is no more substance to his character than that. The only thing I know about Ivy is that everyone she has ever met is basically terrible. The dialogue was preposterous. This, let me just give you an example:

"I can't believe anyone would hurt you. You're so beautiful."

WHAT??????

That was truly the last straw for me. Not only is it a stupid line, but it just makes no sense. Only ugly people get injured? Is that what you're telling me right now?

The only reason I finished the book is because I finish every book I start no matter what. And maybe there was a small part of me that hoped that it would suddenly get better. I've read books that have suddenly gotten a million times better (or sometimes a million times worse) a little over halfway through as if the author was like, "this sux but I don't have the strength to change it all so I'll just make it all better from here." I hoped that would be the case. It wasn't.

Honestly if you have any interest in plot, character development, believability, sensible dialogue, etc., do not read this book. There are thousands of books out there like this. Find one that won't make you lose faith in the entire genre.

This has some real potential!!! I really enjoyed this first (short) book. I definitely need to have a TON of questions answered. That cliffhanger would have made me so mad if I wasn't able to move right on to book two!!! Jax might have just enough craziness in him for me to really fall in love!:) On to the next book!

JUST THE WAY I LIKE IT!

Jax Walker is everything I want in a leading man....handsome as sin, mysterious, sophisticated, not quite manipulative but more like secretive. He definitely got something up his sleeves and he is not telling, not until he's got all his duck lined up in a row. And that's what makes him different from the typical hero we read and it makes him more appealing. The more secrets that are revealed, the more puzzling and irresistibly fascinating he becomes. You'll be under the spell of his charm, and as the story unfolds you'll be more captivated. Just as the beautiful jewelry designer Ivy was, the moment she heard his sexy voice without even seeing his face, she was drawn to him like magnet. When Jax turned his eyes and interest in her and started pursuing her, she was powerless to resist and there began a scintillating love affair.

This is a short read but packed with heat and intrigue that will keep you turning the pages, eager to get to the bottom of it all and know what secrets Jax is hiding. The ending is so intriguing that got me so excited to get the 2nd book in a hurry!

Ooooooooooh, boy! This was a rough one. Why, OH WHY, does this book have such a high rating?

The character development is non-existent, the storyline is equal parts boring and confusing, and the writing is pretty terrible. And also repetitive; there's one passage where the characters just keep going back and forth, asking each other if they like surprises.

It's your typical FSOG knock-off, where the rich, handsome man is unexplainably obsessed with the timid woman (who cannot think for herself, if we're being honest) and is peppered with sexual innuendos, graphic sex scenes, and offers of monetary compensation. Perhaps it would have been better if the two main characters were written well, but instead we are treated to a stalker-like guy who only wants to "help" and a woman who is terrible with her life choices.

The good news is that this book is pretty short and can be read easily within three hours or so; the bad news is that it continues with the latest trend of being the first in a series, and ends on a cliffhanger. Spoiler: he has secrets.

Do I want to know how it all ends? Not really.
Do I care enough to just google the ending? Not really.

*this review will contain spoilers*
eh.

Very disappointed with this read. To begin with, the heroine comes off as a strong, confident woman only to turn into the most naive and simple-minded person throughout the series. Jax was this mysterious stranger who caught her attention after a bad breakup. Their first interaction intrigued me and I was excited to see where it would lead them, but lets me be honest it was a big let down. The hero? A big disappointment. I saw so much potential in this story, but I just can't wrap my head around a hero who can't take no for an answer and a heroine who runs away when things get tough but is all in love when sex is added to the mix.

Let me just add that her so-called "best friend" was a piece of shit!!!!!!! (view spoiler)The fact that the hero's brother tried to force a reconciliation between them after the ex-best friend gets into an accident was not ok!

Maybe if I read it 4 years ago I would've raved about it, it had so much potential and was a big let down.

I am not rating just this novella but the whole series an overall 3.5ish stars...

Here are some side thoughts:

>The connection between Jax and Ivy seemed forced at times...

>There was an insta-love that had me WTFing?????

>Ivy was a complicated mess at times I loved her character and thought she was very classy chick while other times I just thought she was a moron...

>The secondary cast was lacking...

>I never understood why Jax was so obsessed...

As with all my reviews I always keep in mind when rating how much the book kept me engrossed in the story. This series of novellas (one book broken into 4 parts) did just that... I just want to go on record that I think it is ridiculous that this author (and many others) are splitting up one book essentially, into 4 parts and then calling it a series...Because it's not!!!!!!! Any whoooooo..

Happy Reading Ladies...

A little closer to ok than to good, just because it is too short to be an actual book (one of those endless installments series that could just become one reasonably long book) and full of drama that isn't really necessary. Jax can actually be sweet, and Ivy has her moments, but the trouble between them is not convincing up to the third book, and by then, you are wondering why you are still reading. Also, she's nice and feisty, but I just couldn't get over that 'I spit on my ex cheating boyfriend's face because he hurt me so much but I still live in his apartment with him paying my bills'. I mean, WHAT?

I'm in LOVE with this story!

I feel like there are a lot of unresolved mysteries about what's going on, but up until this moment, I think it's a lovely read even though it needs some editing.

Let's see how the story continues..

I wanted to feel something for these characters, but something was missing. I felt like Jax at times was either in to her or he wasn't and it kind of put me off. I think the story has a lot of potential as Ivy is a very strong female which is a breath of fresh air.

Very predictable and the characters are unlikeable. Jax is a jerk and controlling and yet the girl never seems to be upset about it. Made it through part one but quit during part two. And I never quit a book. Fight, have sex, fight, have sex. I believe him, he is hiding something... over and over.
