*Review of the Second Edition* Overall, really well put together and practically relevant information about whole discipline of exercise physiology. The illustrations + artwork is S-Tier! Wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for coaches/advanced practitioners. (And the information lacks nuance at times) But a really really good resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the science of getting fitter without necessarily getting bombarded with scientific jargon. Although, the redundant information in sports nutrition spotlight was annoying at times.
8.5/10, HIGHLY RECOMMEND for recreational lifters/ fitness enthusiasts.
This book is very simply written for just brief summaries of the major concepts within exercise physiology. I often reference it when I need nutrition information, recaps on body energy systems, and programming principles. I used this book in schooling but it would be useful for anyone interested in personal fitness!
