Sigh...I recognize that I'm a book snob but some authors can be so trite with their writing that it pains me to even have to write a bad review........they should just know that their writing was subpar.
My problem with this story comes in the form of the high implausibility of the whole situation. 50% through the book and Logan still doesn't know he has a teenaged son and Dorie is obsessing over telling him. The things she did to cover up Josh's true age just bordered on ridiculous.
The second implausibility comes in the fact that everyone in Dorie's family kept telling Logan that he looks familiar. Yet, Dorie's inner monologue kept commenting on how Josh looked so very much like his father. Josh is 15 years old. He's not a baby or a child so his resemblance to Logan should be quite apparent at this point in his life. Yet, her brother and father only comment on how Logan "looked familiar."
Only a secondary character, cousin Anita, figures out the Logan is Josh's daddy. Wow...what an epiphany...........NOT REALLY. The fact that Dorie is still hiding older pictures of Josh and talking about him as if he was a three-year old child is just ridiculous at 50% of the way through the book. The little surprise of Josh's parentage should have been revealed about a quarter of the way into the book so the rest could deal more with the thriller/suspense portion of the story.
My review.....critical?.....maybe!.....truthful?.....always!
Great story about a second chance at love. Logan returns home after 16 years and ends up working with the girl he left but could never forget. What he doesn’t know is that she is keeping a big secret, their 16 year old son. Doriana starts to get threats and Logan cannot help but protect her, even after he finds out about the secret she’s been keeping from him. Doriana thinks she has gotten over Logan, but now that he is back, she realizes that she is still in love with him. I really enjoyed seeing Logan and Doriana work through their secrets and finally give in to their feelings. The story is well written and full of suspense and romance. I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series, “Franco’s Fortune”.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
I found that this book was a breath of fresh air. It is the total package if you love suspense, crime thrillers and romance, Logan Redemption has it all. I don’t want to give anything away but once you have read the book you will understand why I felt the story line was a breath of fresh air. I hope you fall in love with Dorie and logans story as I did. I highly Recommend Logan’s Redemption and can not wait to read more from Cara Marsi.
First let me say I loved the storyline very much and I enjoyed the mystery and suspense, but I found the story dragged a lot because these two never talked they just keep hiding things from each other, this became annoying after time.
Logan was wonderful to read. To me he made the whole story more enjoyable to read. He had a bad past and left his first love, because he thought she was too good for the likes of him. When he came back into Doriana life he never thought he would have to protect her and his unknown son.
Doriana I liked, but she is the one who really tries to keep stuff from Logan and make matters worse, so she was harder for me to get along with. When Logan left her she found out she was Prego, she never tried to find him to let him know he was a father. So, you can see she has issues from the start when he walks back into her life.
These two have a lot of issues to workout between them and on top of this Doriana starts getting some awful phone calls that can cost her, her life.
Overall this is a good read and I know there are plenty of you that will really enjoy it, so if you have a chance to try this please do.
Possibly one of the worst books I have ever had the misfortune of having read in my entire life. The opening scene starts out promising in its use of what I guess is best deemed "active description" (e.g., a line to the tune of "she looked out at the Philadelphia skyline")...and that's the best it has going for it.
The character are unlikeable, I desire to smack both Logan and Dorianna upside the head, and both of their games of "I want X from him/her, but won't tell him/her"--Dorianna wanting Logan to stay and be a father for Josh, and Logan wanting Dorianna to accept him for who he is, and not for the money he's gained.
The only character who gets any sympathy from me is Josh, as he's caught in a childish, "you need to read my mind" sort of spat between his parents, his mother attempts to be a good parent to him, while his grandparents wholly undermine her authority (see: buying him a car against her wishes), his Uncle Franco is a womanizing skeeve and generally, he has not one single good adult role-model in his life.
I take that back. Dorianna's cousin (Anita, was it?) seemed to have been a tolerable person. Although as I never saw Anita and Josh interact so much as once within the book, I'm not sure he even has that.
Related to the previously mentioned characterization of Franco: the characters are one-dimensional caricatures, and make the whole thing even less enjoyable than it already ways.
A further flaw is perhaps more of a personal/stylistic issue, but one that bothered my nonetheless: it seems that nearly ever sentence in the book is a simple sentence; that is, of the variety that goes "I saw him. He looked at me. I looked back.", instead of spicing things up once in a while with "As he looked at me, I looked back, and an understanding passed between us." If the characters are adventurous enough to have sex in Dorianna's office, surely the author can be adventurous enough to make the sentences a bit more complicated.
On that note: that is the most unprofessional office which I have ever had the misfortune of seeing (as I mentioned in one of my notes). Franco does nothing for the company, comes in every week with a new piece of arm candy (next section of the rant: misogyny), and yet is a VP; Candi and Bryce date within the company, as do Logan and Dorianna, but Logan and Dorianna also get it on in her office, with no attempts to be discreet in the least.
Misogyny: firstly, all female characters are stock tropes, which...I can almost let slide, as the males are no better off. But further (secondly), there seems to be an almost disturbing fetishization of gender-roles: perhaps 70-80% into the book, I started a drinking game where every time the words "masculine", "masculinity", "feminine", or "femininity" were used, it would be one drink. I counted about 5 such instances in two pages (during one of the sex scenes). This "X filled her with feminine pride" weirds me right out. Thirdly, although Dorianna is originally portrayed as a strong woman (having earned her VP position), she is suddenly content to let Logan literally take over her life: examples which spring readily to mind include him forcing himself into her house, to live there, and forcing her to go out and buy a real Christmas tree, because he said so. I am sure there are plenty more instances, which I have suppressed.
Finally, (well, perhaps finally), the relationship between Logan and Dorianna is supremely unhealthy, firstly, as previously mentioned, due to the fact that he absolutely refuses to respect her wishes and does what he wants(and forces her into it) regardless, and secondly due to a matter of "heart vs. brain". By this I mean that Dorianna has a whole list of valid reasons to distrust Logan/be wary of letting him back in her life again (mainly due to the fact that he disappeared without a trace those 16 years ago) and she not only wants to protect her heart, but her son as well--as a mother, she has a duty to protect her son from a father whom she cannot be sure has grown up into a responsible adult, one who will stick around for them. Despite Dorianna's very obvious, and very valid reservations (on a slight tangent: even if her reservations weren't "objectively" valid, she, as an independent adult person, still has a right to have her wishes/limits respected), Logan utterly ignores everything she says, and bowls into her life. I didn't keep track of the timeline of the book, but based on the fact that he said he would only be around for 6 weeks in his "temp" role, I presume that they went from reacquainting themselves to him proposing marriage within that mere 6 week span. That is not romantic. That is seevky, and somewhat terrifying. He's changed, she's changed, and you cannot get to know a person (even get to know them again) in so little time.
I understand that she loved--and still loves--Logan despite everything (him ditching her, all of his crap (which apparently is supposed to be ~romantic~) which he pulled when he reappeared). What would make for a stronger book is if her doubts were treated as valid, rather than the worryings of "oh, what a silly woman", and she found a way to address and overcome those doubts, that did not resort to "Logan is right and Dorianna is wrong...again". The worst example of "oh, what a silly woman" is a line which comes up right after Logan finds out that Josh his his son, that "She had tried to keep Logan from his son" (or something to the extent). Despite her obvious and valid concerns, despite her valid and logical reasons for keeping Josh's parentage a secret, she is the "wrong" one in this scenario, and that is sickening.
I did read the entire book, because if I had given up, it would have won. It still blackened my soul, however.
I really wanted to like this book and I guess it was okay but it just didn't really do that much for me.
Logan comes to town to help Doriana's father find out who is sabotaging his company. Her father (Dan) has no clue that Logan is his grandson's (Josh) father. So Logan is assigned as a temporary assistant to (surprise!) Doriana, the mother of his child. Of course Logan has no clue that he is a dad. He only believes that Doriana has a child..... one that he assumes is a toddler.
This book got old pretty quick. I agree with another reviewer who stated that Josh is a 15 year old boy, not a baby. Family members would have noticed the resemblance to Logan immediately. The "you look familiar" got ridiculous. It took way too long for Logan to realize that Josh was his son. The back and forth between the two main characters was annoying. Logan didn't want to tell Doriana why he left her all those years ago. Did Doriana push it? No. She asked him a couple of times why he left and that was it. Yet SHE felt guilt for not telling him about the son he never knew existed? He disappears and never contacts her again (supposedly) but SHE feels the guilt for not telling him? More should have been said about Logan's life after he left her.
Another thing that really bothered me about this book are Doriana's parents. She forbade them to give Josh a car for his 16th birthday. They did it anyway. Not just any car but a sports car. Did she raise hell about it during the party? No. Did she mention it to her parents at all during the party? Again, no. Okay, I'm a parent and if I told my parents NO to something in regards to my children and they did it anyway? I would not, under any circumstances, let it go. Or "wait for the right time"........ the time would be NOW.
The story just didn't ring true in any way at all. I didn't like Doriana or her parents. Logan was okay. I liked Josh fine. The "bad guy" and the sabotage were not fully developed. It was kind of a nonevent.
I'm not sorry I read this. I'm just sorry it was SO long. It could've been summed up way earlier.

Interesting story line, suspenseful , undeniable connection with the characters, hot want and need between them. Can they make it back to each other? I was hooked right from the start, and felt for Doriana and Logan. Their connection was intriguing. The need to find out what happened in the past and what was going to happen now kept me turning the page.
Really enjoyed the book. Tanner had his work cut out for him. Doriana his past sweetheart, love of his life is the VP of callahan's construction and he's nervous as he'll to see her after 16 yeArs. Can they get over the past move on or will she finally have to let her son know his father is back. Really enjoyable boo and
Logan was from the wrong side of the tracks. Doriana was the princess daughter of a construction magnate. After knocking her up as a teen, Logan comes back into Doriana's life 16 years later when her father hires him to investigate corporate espionage. Their old attraction fires up but sparks fly when their old baggage resurfaces. Will he take off again and leave her? Will she accept him for the man he is and not as the successful owner of a security company? These questions are asked and go unanswered over and over and over throughout the book. Likewise their will-they-won't-they passionate encounters. There is a lot of déjà vu as these scenes play out over and over. There's enough tense action to keep the plot line moving forward to its inevitable conclusion, but the writing is overwrought with bad construction metaphors.
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book. Many things I needed answers to. Questions: Why didn't the author do a tad bit of research? What kind of investigator is Logan if he didn't know Dorie had a teenage son? The car Josh received. Hello? New vehicles like that have devices installed where they can be not only traced BUT they can be turned off while a 'thief' is in possession.
But, I looked past obvious questions and just read it like I didn't care for the discrepancies. It was an interesting read. Except for the research part, the book had a plot, characters you like and those you love to hate. Editing was good. I am giving it four stars but really needs 3.75. So, am I going to read book 2? Yes.
I both loved the book and found it frustrating at times. The reality is that Logan is undercover and he has to behave in certain ways to do his job. That’s reality, but normally the love interest isn’t watching the progression of a relationship with someone else. If I saw the person I loved seeming so intimate with a long time friend, I would struggle with it. If it was with a woman I knew perfectly well he had just met... no. That said, the action is well-paced and interesting and the romance is sweet. Worth reading and definitely worth carrying on with the series.
Logan’s Redemption is a stellar romantic suspense. I love a story with a hero who needs redeemed and a conflict that’s difficult to overcome, and this novel has both—not to mention a secret baby. I was kept on the edge of my seat by the stalker aspect and worried for Doriana, but I knew the heroic Logan would die to protect her. Overall, an excellent read. Highly recommend!
Not bad if you don't mind all the ridiculousness. She tries too hard to hide her son and he spends too much time hiding himself because he wants her to want him as is only to tell her everything. If you don't care about consistency and just want to read for the sake of reading then it's not terrible.

Sixteen years ago, Doriana Callahan had to adjust plans and dreams for her future, when she found herself pregnant and alone. She never told anyone who Josh's father was. She has worked hard to make her way up in her fathers company, but it feels like she still needs to prove herself worthy every day. Especially lately, since they have had increasing vandalism at some of their building sites and someone looks to have been feeding confidential information to competitors, who have managed to conveniently underbid them just marginally most of the last substantial contract tenders. It reeks of sabotage and looks like it might be an inside job. To top it all off, her assistant is on maternity leave and her father has hired a temp for her. When the temp turns out to be Logan Tanner, who disappeared sixteen years ago and has no clue he fathered her son, her anxiety is at full force.
Logan had always felt the Callahan's were out of his league. She was the daughter of a successful construction company and when he first met her, he was working as an eighteen year-old labourer on one of her father's job sites. He should have known then that with his abusive background, he would never belong in Doriana's world, but he fell so hard for her. They allowed themselves to have dreams of a future, until he found himself on the run one night, and could not turn back.
As irony will have it, Dan Callahan contacted Logan, who has made a reputation investigating corporate crimes, to help him uncover who is causing the problems for his company, and he wants him to do so undercover......as his daughter's temporary assistant. Needless to say, the initial meeting after so many years stirs up a myriad of emotions for both Logan and Doriana, but underneath all the conflicting feelings, the heat and attraction bubbles up as if it never left.
Both struggle to work together and keep their respective secrets, Logan has to try and gather information on a possible leak in the company, while Doriana is bending over backward to hide the fact that Logan is the father of her son. But when Doriana starts receiving threats and Logan is compelled to protect what is 'his', keeping secrets becomes almost impossible and trust has to be rebuilt, but it seems the love never really left.
***
The story plot is good, I always enjoy 'second chance' stories.......they smack of hope! However, I felt the storyline was left fairly unexplored and predictable, while other parts were repetitive.
Doriana's character was rather weak, even though she worked hard to get where she is, she allows her lazy brother to walk all over her, as well as her parents. I don't see her standing up for herself at all and that doesn't sit right, especially for someone who is supposed to be holding such a responsible position. It seems contradictory. She also seems rather wishy-washy with her son, who is being a bratty teen and playing all sides against the other........as teens do. As a single mom, her alarm bells should have been going off loudly already, but she is just clueing in now that she might have a problem. I had trouble finding Doriana credible.
Logan fared a little better in my opinion, although I don't always buy into the sacrificial disappearing act some adolescent men seem to justify actions with. ".....I left because I knew you could do so much better.....", or some such baloney. Let's be real, you were young and stupid and you took the path of least resistance, end of story. Don't spend your adult life hanging on to a teenage justification......that is not very 'manly'. I did appreciate the stepping up in the role as father without hesitation, and keeping recriminations to a minimum. Of course, being a woman, I enjoyed his protective side, both regarding the abuse issue as well as with the threats against Doriana.
For me, the writing style would probably have been better suited to a historical romance, rather than a contemporary romance, just because of use of language and sentence structure. It had a slightly old-fashioned feel to it and was a bit too dramatic.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
This is the first book in the Redemption Series. I really enjoyed it!
Doriana Callahan is a wonderful character, although sometimes I wanted to knock some sense into her. She is a single mother, with a rebelling teenager. However, her stubbornness in accepting help of any kind, didn't endear her to me. Her family are supportive of her, but she seems to resent their meddling (which I can understand up to a point) and is terrified that her family would find out the identity of her son's father. After sixteen years, I doubt they would even care anymore, but who can say? When her father employs Logan Tanner to investigate the sabotage of his business, Doriana's life is thrown into turmoil.
Logan Tanner is also a wonderful character. He is very determined, focused and dangerous in his own way. He left town sixteen years ago after an event that made him run. He may have done something bad in the past, but he was only protecting himself in self defense. This, amongst other things, convinced me that he is a good and noble man. Now living in Tuscon, he runs a very successful private investigation and security business. He's back in Philadelphia, but being near Doriana reminds him of what he left behind. Can he find the saboteur and leave with his heart intact?
I started to read this story and was hooked from the first page. The story is told from the points of view of both Logan and Doriana. I am a sucker for romance novels with a bit of mystery, intrigue and danger in them; this book has it in spades. There are some interesting characters in this book. Dan Callahan is an extremely sharp businessman. I liked him a lot. Franco is Doriana's brother and a bit of a playboy, who never seems to take anything seriously. And then there is fifteen year old Josh. I liked this troubled teen. He is trying to find where he fits in and, although he makes a few mistakes, he has a good heart.
The danger is not as imminent and right there as if this is a thriller, but the intrigue and mystery as to who is sabotaging the business had me turning the pages. The chemistry between Doriana and Logan is definitely smoldering, even after sixteen years apart. Their sexual tension permeates the story and when they finally get back together, it's extremely HOT. I did find Doriana's incessant worries about Logan finding out about Josh being his son to be a bit of an overreaction on her part. I don't have any experience with having children, but I don't think that Logan would have ever considered taking Josh away from her; it didn't fit in with my impression of his character. This is a rather formulaic romance and similar to many other romance novels I have read over the years, but I really did enjoy it from beginning to end. However, there are a few twists that surprised me. I am now looking forward to reading the second book in the series, Franco's Fortune, as soon as I can.
Cara Marsi has written a wonderful contemporary romance. I love her fast paced writing style and the flow was wonderful. Her characters are not perfect and have flaws, but this makes them seem more realistic and alive in my opinion. I am looking forward to reading more of this author's work in the future.
Due to scenes that are a little explicit in nature (although not as explicit as some books I have read), I do not recommend this book for readers under the age of 16. However, I highly recommend this book if you love steamy contemporary romances. - Lynn Worton
this is a fast paced mystery that has a sweet and sometimes bittersweet love story involved in it. Logan leaves Philadelphia sixteen years ago to escape the tendrils of his life. He returns for a job with the family of the woman he loved before he left. In reality he still loves her and is trying to show her that he is more than he was. His success is something he hopes will sway her but more importantly he wants her to see him for the man he is. He hopes to accomplish this while working for her dad undercover to flush out who is stealing bids and vandalizing sites. Meanwhile Dorianna has a secret from Logan she has kept for years. Afraid of him leaving again, she guards her heart and secret from him. that is until she starts getting threatening phone calls. Than her and Logan are put together even more than before. Logan wants her but he wants her to admit it until than he believes that she sees him as the boy at seventeen and not worth her time. Poor guy. Meantime he is trying to help her dad.
Her secret blows up and all heck breaks loose sort of. Logan and Dorianna adjust and try to become something but road blocks of the past get in the way. Dorianna lets the past dictate her treatment to him and won't trust him which hurts Logan and makes him shutdown. While this is going on the threats are escalating.
As they navigate through the changes, the job Logan is here for comes to a head and they realize what they want.
Logan is a great guy with a troubled past. His bright light has always been Dorianna he just never felt good enough for her. I love how protective of loved ones he is.
dorianna comes off as a ice princess and at times is horrid to Logan but she is protecting her heart and life. Once you get past the facade and layers you find a beautiful butterfly that is soaring under Logans love.
A good fast paced mystery/romance that will keep you coming back for more.
Logan is hired by Doriana's father to find out who is selling bidding secrets to his competitors. Logan and Doriana have a history. They were once teenage lovers until Logan abruptly left town, unknowingly leaving Doriana pregnant and alone. Sixteen years later and Doriana is faced with trying to keep their son a secret. Except that the longer she's around Logan, the more those old feelings stir up. Can she count on Logan to stick around for good?
Logan's Redemption got off to a good start. I loved how the author portrayed Doriana's conflict in regards to whether or not she wanted to reveal to Logan that they have a son together. The best thing to do would be to not let the secret go much further but 16 years has passed and Doriana doesn't know where Logan is in his life. Is he ready to be a father? Does he want to be a father? A lot of past emotions and baggage are holding both Logan and Doriana back from pursuing a relationship with each other. In the beginning it was understandable but as the book continued, I kind of got tired of the constant back and forth. Neither one of them trusted the other which made it frustrating. The amount of secrets that Logan and Doriana were keeping was ridiculous. It seemed like neither one was willing to give a little in order to move forward.
The suspense of the aspect was not too suspenseful. The bad guys were fleshed out pretty early. The main key to the plot was the motivation behind the sabotage. There was a little bit of action towards the end of the book. Finally, Logan and Doriana come clean with each other which I think took too long.
All in all, it was a good story. There were some plot points that caused the story to drag a little but it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the book.
Logan’s Redemption is filled with suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Doriana Callahan hasn’t had it easy, she may work at her father’s company; but, she’s fought for her position tooth and nail. As she’s proving herself she also has to deal with her rebellious teenage son. Just when she thought things couldn’t get any worse, her son’s father pops back into her life and then it’s downhill from there as her life is threatened. Will Dorie reach out to Logan when she needs him most? Or will she walk away?
Logan Tanner is a hard man to crack. But somehow Dorie managed to break through his defense and completely shatter them. He’s convinced he’s over her and can move on; but, when the unlikely happens and Dorie’s life is threatened, he wants to be the one to protect her. When secrets are revealed will Logan still want to stick around, or will he walk away like so many years ago?
Logan’s Redemption is the perfect love story, albeit a little predictable at times. But, I found myself completely riveted on my ereader, not being able to tear my eyes away. Cara did a fantastic job with this novel. Bringing out her characters that will make you love them...or at least most of them. Some you’ll want to reach through and strangle part of the time. I was fairly certain the sexual tension and chemistry that sparked between Logan and Doriana was hot enough to burn down a house...Or melt someone’s ereader. They fit perfectly together and I honestly found myself wanting more. If you love a good suspenseful romance, that is slightly predictable but will keep you on the edge of your seat, Logan’s Redemption is for you. I can’t wait to read more!
Logan's Redemption was such a heart warming and suspenseful book.. One minute you are just totally enjoying the love that Doriana and her son, Josh have but the next you're on the edge of your seat wondering whats gonna happen next. Cara really hit spot on the love that a teenage son has for his mother and vice versa. Josh is your basic teen from a single parent home, bratty, a bit unruly but you really feel their love throughout the whole book. Single parenting is such a difficult family to raise but these two really made it work.
Logan is a sexy ex military, motorcycle bad boy that really made something of himself, regardless of the crappy cards he was dealt. Logan is Dorianna's lost love that comes back to find out what he lost 16yrs ago but only because of the work he does. Logan can not keep away from Dorie regardless how much he tries. Dorie feels the same way but can they ever get back what they have? Will Logan find out Dorianna's secret that could change Logan's life forever?
I loved these characters that Cara has created. I loved Logan and Dories connection but it really makes you wanna throw them in a room so they can get everything out.. lol Then the book would be a short story then huh? I really look forward to ready more by Cara and hope all of you will too. This book is only suitable for those over 18 because of language and sexual situations. Five stars have been granted :)
Logan's Redemption was a great book to read. It was romantic suspense with a touch of mystery thrown in and plenty of secrets to go around. As a reader, I was drawn in from the first pages, and I wanted to continue reading to see how everything was going to be resolved. Logan, her boyfriend of sorts from when they were teenagers, is back in town – Philadelphia to be exact - and Doriana doesn't know why. Logan is keeping the details to himself as he works on a case in town while being employed at the company that Doriana's father runs.
There were several times I found myself shaking my head at Doriana's reactions and thought processes and the rationalizations she kept making for not being forthright with Logan. Still, by the time I had finished reading the book, I had grown to like her quite a bit, and in retrospect understand the fears she held and reluctance to be forthcoming with the truth at the beginning. Logan, in contrast, was a character I grew to like from the opening chapters. As the story progressed, I felt for him as I wanted him to know the truth. Even then, I thought Logan and Doriana made a great couple, with some scenes in the book that reinforced that for me.
I really enjoyed this book, and I'd recommend it for readers who enjoy romantic suspense. My rating is 4/5 platypires.
I received this book from BookRhythm in return for a fair and honest review.
This book has all the ingredients for a good romantic suspense story but some of the other behaviour in the book became irritating to me as the story went along and even overshadowed the suspense part which I found to be a shame.
I understand that most romance stories either involve the horrible triangle, hidden angst and secrets or lack of communication. This book sort of had all three. At one point, Logan thinks Josh is Doriana's lover so he gets jealous. Then we have the secrets in both our main characters' lives. To top it off we have both of them keeping said secrets from each other and giving the dreaded "if they wanted me, they'd say" speech and waiting for the other to make the first move. Like I've just said, this overshadowed the suspense part of the story.
The suspense itself was very well written with a number of intriguing characters that could be the 'bad guy'. It kept you on reading as you didn't know who had done what and how deeply they were involved. I thought this part was very well done as although you knew who the bad guy was past a certain point, you were still uncertain why. And he really wasn't a very nice person!
A good book with an entertaining storyline for fans of contemporary romance.
How can you not fall in love with this cover! It is one of those that makes your want to just grab it and dig into because you can tell this will be one of passion, suspense, and who knows what else. I know thats what I thought about it as soon as I saw it! The author has out done herself in my opinion with this amazing story. As soon as I started to read it I was enthralled into the world of both main characters (Dorie and Logan). I could feel the hurt and struggle that Dorie had to go through to keep her secret safe especially after all the years the man all of a sudden drops into her life again. Logan has built himself up from what he was 16 years ago and now is asked for his services by his first love’s dad to find out who is trying to ruin the company. Has the love flame burnt out or will these two come back to rekindle and make up for those lost years. When lives are put at stake what will it take for all truths to come out…The author will have you on the edge of your seat and even though i loved to hate a couple characters they shone through at the end with the twists and turns the author throws at you. The flow of the plot is flaweless and well thought out. Check this book out next time you want a little suspense in your romance you will be happy you did.
So this book has been on my TBR list for such a long time, and I finally decide to give it a try. So this is a story that has such great potential. And I think for the most part Cara Marsi does a really good job with the story. So Dorianna and Logan had a very serious and very passionate, and very short relationship 16 years ago. And then it ended very abruptly. One night Logan just left and was never seen again. He left and Doriana was pregnant. But she never tells anyone who the baby's father was. Sixteen years later Logan returns as Dorianna's interim assistant, and from there a pretty cool story occurs. While I really liked both Logan and Dorianna, and I couldn't believe that Logan could work for months as Doriana's assistant and never meet her (and his son). I also thought the his response to finding out he had a child would be a bit more dramatic. But I did love how he tried to get to know his son. He really worked hard to become someone in his life, but he wasn't overbearing either. Overall I really enjoyed this book, however, I thought the first half really dragged, and then the last quarter seemed to be rushed. But I would read from this author again for sure.
One horrible night Logan had to leave the only place he called home, and his true love, Dorianna. He never knew what the outcome of his behavior was but he knew he had to turn his life around, what he didn't realize is just how much he really left behind. Dorianna, upper class teenage girl, was lost about how the rest of her life was going to go. Waiting for her secret love at their spot ready to tell him he was going to be a father, only he never showed. So she made the hard decision to let him go without finding him and telling him about his son. Sixteen years later Logan was offered a job undercover for Dorianna's dad. He wanted to see how his only love was and see how she made her life. What he didn't expect was the family he always wanted. Dorianna couldn't believe Logan had returned, what did this mean for her and her son? Could be trust Logan to be a father or would he run away again? Cara Marsi writes a great story about secrets, but there is also a lot more to the story than just Logan and Dorianna, full of suspense. I literally was not able to put this book down, I had a great time reading. I hope to see more of Cara Marsi.
