Breathless Magic is proud to be part of the Open Hearts Chronicles.
And they lived happily ever after…
Or that was supposed to be how the story ended. Unfortunately for Eden Kendrick, a new enemy threatens her beloved Kingdom, one more dangerous and deadly than ever before.
After enjoying a deliciously elongated honeymoon, Eden returns to the Citadel with her husband and happiness intact. She’s unexpectedly pregnant, but that’s just one more blessing to add to her blooming happiness.
Eden’s heart is full and her endless life has never been more happy. That is until Dmitri Terletov returns from the dead and threatens everyone she loves and the Kingdom she worked so hard to build.
This time around, Eden is supposed to be shielded from the conflict. She has her growing babies to protect now and Kiran wants her as far from the battle as possible. Although she’s a little stir-crazy with idle hands, she agrees that keeping away from Terletov and his deadly experiments is definitely the right course of action.
Unfortunately, Terletov doesn’t agree. And when he arrives at the Castle, uninvited and desperate for the Magic Eden once stole from him, she has no choice but to fight once again to save the people she was born to protect.

Such a cute novella! Breathless Magic is one of the novellas within the Star-Crossed series. It follows right where some of the scenes (or chapters) happened in the previous book, The Relentless Warrior. However, it's all from Eden's point of view. Even though I really enjoyed book 5 and 6 having different POV's I was kind of happy to be inside Eden's head again. Mostly because this was such a short, sweet, and cute book that I really enjoyed everything.
Now this book is all form her view from when Lilly was found, Olivia's sister woke up, and her kingdom being attacked. Eden definitely became more of a bad ass since being a mother. Yes, the twin babies are still in the womb soaking up life and shit.. but she has definitely become stronger and more amazing. She knows her babies are immortal and powerful so she doesn't see her going into battle of any sort a risk. It still is.. but they will always be safe. It must be awesome to have blue magic and shit - can I get some?
Overall, it was a cute book. I can't wait to listen (and finish since I'm already listening to the next novella) because it's all about Lilly!
It's good to be back in Eden's head. It's a little different now that Kiran and Eden are married and all, but not really. They're still the wonderful couple that I love so much.
This novella takes place at the end of The Relentless Warrior, so make sure you read it after that book.
What I loved about this novella is that I got see and feel Eden's reactions to everything going on instead of seeing it all from Jericho's or Olivia's point of views. And let's be honest. Eden's POV is the best POV there is. Maybe it's because she's such a strong and emotional character. Maybe it's because she loves Kiran. Maybe it's because I've been in her head for so many books that I've become particularly fond of her way of narrating. Whatever the reason, I find her POV the most enjoyable.
And I was so happy that we got a better glimpse of what life is like for Eden and Kiran now that they are married. Sure, we get to see them in The Reluctant King and The Relentless Warrior, but it's not the same. It's especially hard for me to read those books and not know exactly what is happening to Eden and Kiran at the time, so I'm glad this novella went back and covered a little bit of the things I've been so desperately longing for.
I wanted to cry while reading this. I've missed Eden and Kiran alot. After marriage they became just as awesome as before. Their love for each other is never ending and after all they've been through to get to their position, I admire both of them for making it to where they are, even if they're just fictional characters. Eden's pregnant and her protectiveness over her babies is adorable. Twins. This book had me want to punch every player around. This was just a retake of how the final battle to take the citadel in book #6 The Relentless warrior took place but from Eden's point of view.
“There were beautiful, exciting moments in the first parts of love: the butterflies, the tingles, the newness of every touch and feeling. But the depth and intimate knowledge that came with being together for years was something I would never give up or trade for anything.”
“We would never stop fighting. This was what we were born for… what we lived for. And we would stand side by side during this and the rest of eternity.”
It was cute being back with eden and Kiran for a few minutes. A lot of the same scenes from book 6 were replayed in edens perspective but there were a few sweet moments with just the two of them.
Worth my time because I’m obsessed with the characters but not really good as a stand alone. I suppose that’s why it’s only a little 50 minute novella. Still, I’m happy I read it. But it felt more like checking off a box than really enjoying it that much. 🤷♀️
I would not have chosen this book if I had known it was the middle of a series. So it made no sense to me at all. I also don’t like books that end with Cliff hangers. If an author has to resort to tricks to get me to read the next book, I don’t want to read it. I would have given 2.5 stars, but we can’t give half stars and this book did deserve to be rounded up instead of down. It wasn’t terrible, I just had no clue who the characters were or what was going on. This is DEFINITELY not a stand alone
This was a brief recap of part of the last book, Relentless Warrior told in Edens point of view. Of course any story with Eden and Kiran is great. I love how they are together and I can’t wait till their babies come. I like how they were able to get away of Dmitri Terletov, will he ever die? Im looking forward to reading Lilly’s book, hoping that her and Talbott can finally have a future together.
This was a short read but I enjoyed it as it brought all the characters back to face off with terletov the last book left it open to wonder what happened. Eden is now pregnant with twins and has to face off with her enemy and save her friends. I loved it great ending. I’m not interested in the other characters unless there’s another Avalon book. But glad how it ended
I love ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 Eden and Kiran❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 so so much. I really hope this amazing power couple gets another book of their own...after the babes are born!! I have read book 7 before this, but just would like to see how life is after all the craziness. Definitely recommend this book
A magically good read - Eden must fight to save her mate, her friends and her kingdom from a devious foe. Terletov will rue the day he crossed paths with her. She's a mama bear to be and those protective instincts are on high alert! This is a novella in a larger series that has made its way into my TBR. I gotta know how it all started.
May have been very unnecessary. I think I am going to take a break from this series for a little while and come back to it. I'm not sure if I can struggle through 2 more books just to find out what happens, right now. I love these charterers, but the story is getting to long now!
This built on the sixth book in the series. It was a quick glimpse into the Eden's POV of what occurred during intense moments. Not a requirement, but it does give a little more insight.
A short little story where we revisit Eden and Kiran. Since they're my favorite of the entire series, I liked this one better than the other 'extra' books.
What a great little novella! I like how this picks up where The Relentless Warrior leaves us as this fills in some of the gap that I was scratching my head on.
“While you’re growing my children, this body belongs to me”?????? Absolutely not. This one lost me in the first 10 pages. I forgot how melodramatic Eden is.
Eden is pregnant with twins, but the danger to the kingdom is far from over. She must figure out a way to help save the kingdom while not endangering her babies.
Another chapter of this story finished! The pregnancy really added a level of anxiety to the story. Not my favorite series but I will continue with it.
