I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

Loved this book! It is a dark story with twists, scandal, sex, possession and even some murder. I know it seems like a lot for this small book. The author does an amazing job of throwing all of it in without it seeming to be overdone. The storyline is flawless and characters are well-developed. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Where Heaven and Hell Collide – A Review of When Angels Fall by Lachelle Redd

First off, I will tell you honestly I was given this book to review as part of the Platinum Book Reviews Blog and Site, that said allow me to give you the skinny on When Angels Fall.

As an avid reader and writer, I found that this book is a rather new and unique take on the old mythology of angels and demons. Lachelle Redd gives a new twist to the typical war between heaven and hell with a far more visceral setting than one would be used to.

This is book is a fast paced ride into the debauchery of souls and the consequences of the actions that so many people take part in. Told from a rather unique perspective, this novel is a page turner that will leave you gasping for more. Filled with scene of action, lusty sex, violence, and power; I can tell you truthfully that this is one book that will leave you equally flabbergasted, distraught, hungry, and intrigued for more by its end.

While I would have enjoyed seeing more in-depth looks at the characters you are introduced to, as well as more background on the full scope of the world that you find yourself in, I was pleasantly surprised by the emotions that the author was able to evoke in the scenes described in this book.

While not for the faint of heart, I found myself reeling by the time I made it to the end of the story. In all honesty while I would have loved to see more detail and explanation, there is something viciously satisfying in the surprise ending as well as the questions that this story evokes once you have experienced it.

All in all, I give this book five stars for its sheer creativity and the spin it puts on the war between heaven and hell as well as a few of those that remain caught in the fray. I find myself intrigued by the possibility of this story being continued and eagerly await word on what will come next.

I recommend this novel to anyone with a love of paranormal horror and/or fantasy. This is definitely a book that I would recommend for those who want to be immersed in a world of darkness and debauchery.

When Angels Fall by Lachelle Redd is an erotic and dangerous tale of an angel who wishes to live with, and damn, human kind. The main character inhabits the body of a mortal and proceeds on a rampage of sex and debauchery with the sole intent of finding those he can control and damn. The “Masters”, who oversee the demonic angel, find amusement in his disobedience and turn his quest into a game. Bets are laid as to the success of his mission and the cost, should he lose, is high.

The writing is brilliant and the imagery and terror that the humans the demon toys with is palpable. Though the book could do with a bit more editing for punctuation and complete sentences, I found the story, overall, to be enjoyable. The ending could have been a bit more satisfying. It seemed that the demon was dispensed with far too easily. Yet this did not detract from my overall appreciation of the book itself as, it seems, we have a possible sequel to look forward to.

I would suggest that the formatting of the kindle edition be revisited as, at Chapter 6, the text no longer flows on one page and seems to separate by paragraphs. Although it’s just the flick of a finger to move on to the next part of the story, it can become cumbersome. This irritation is further compounded in Chapter 8, where the justification doesn’t follow the general flow of the text.

Overall, however, I base my rating on the writing, itself. That said, I would rate this book 4 Amazon stars. When Angels Fall was an extremely satisfying read that held my attention to the very end. With a bit more care in the editing and formatting, it would definitely have captured a 5 for me.

*I received this book free from GMTA Publishing in exchange for an honest review*

I have to admit I was quite intrigued about the genre this was presented to me as: erotic horror. Never did I think those things could be put together, and so I just had to read this for myself. And WOW! I definitely think it has more horror than erotica, and is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you’re looking for a sexy fallen angel story then this is not for you. This is filled with murder, rape, and every violent sin Margonne can manage while inhabiting the human body of David Thornbrook.

This is the first book I’ve read that is almost fully from the bad guy’s perception and I have to admit it was a little more disturbing than I bargained for. However, it does move quickly for a short story, and you will not have time to get bored. It has great detail when coming to the more violent parts and if you enjoy that sort of thing then you won’t be disappointed.

Margonne is a fallen angel who now guards the gates of hell and he’s grown quite bored in doing so for such a long period of time. When a ‘vacation’ opportunity presents itself he takes it without hesitation, and settles into David Thornbrook’s body and life, domineering everyone and everything in his path. It’s a fun and enjoyable time for him until a little wager forces him to do something he wouldn’t have normally done. Sometimes even the King is just a Pawn.

My Favorite Quote: “And by the way, close your mouth, you’re really making me want to jack off.”

"When Angels Fall" is a book that I wasn’t quite prepared for, but kept me flipping pages until I was finished. Filled with demonic possessions, murder, scandals, and hard sex, it’s a book not for the faint hearted. Redd’s use of detail makes the particular scenes just as gruesome as you can imagine.

First, we’re introduced to David Thornbrook, the CEO and rich playboy, who’s faced with an embezzlement scandal that destroys his family name and the three generation-ran company of Thornebrook, Hall & Caine.

Next, we meet the fallen one, Margonne, a demonic angel forced with guarding hell’s gates as his punishment. After years of torturing those that enter hell’s domain, the ripple of a potential suicide is comes to him—David’s suicide—and Margonne uses it to his advantage. When the suicide doesn’t go through, Margonne shoots a bullet into David’s head and takes possession over his body. With the thoughts and memories of David, combined with his demonic angel powers, Margonne takes over David’s life and brings the company back around with harsh threats and brutality to all that stand in his way.

From there, the story is ripe with twists and turns, murder, sex, and occult rituals. In all, it’s a short novel (70 pages) that will have you cringing and your eyes bugging out in just the right places. Again, this is not for the readers who are faint of heart or tend to shy away from gruesome and sexually charged literature.

First time in reading this author and discovered her at a event. Love encountering new to me authors after reading description of this one was quite intrigued. Stepping away from my novels dealing mainly in romance one form or another I do like to do on occasion for something different so this fit the bill. Enter the dark side I would say and the road in this one isn't very long but one enjoyed traveling. Boredom is the starting point and what crossed my mind was a saying growing up idle hands devil's playground but in this case it is humans and their greedy little lives. One man's downfall is the beginning of one fallen to take over to do as he pleased but in a big way. This is a excellent build up of what promises to be if this is the intention a good intense series. You are given all the key players and they do play rough. Evil or should I say sin also is rampant and the game is high stakes. Many out of their own darker nature will lose. Of course though evil doesn't always win in this read, towards at the end of it the set back will take place in the battle and the demon doesn't quite win at all. His opponent turns out to be very worthy too. What is written so far very well done. Looking forward to what is written next from this author. Received a arc for a honest review.

Breathtaking, Scary and a Wild Fast Ride
I was given this book to read in return for my honest review
The Author takes you on a wild adventure with a Fallen Angel Murders, scams, love and wild sex not for the faint hearted. I loved this book in every way and was shocked at the same time. I turned page after page could not put it down. I had to see where it was going and if love ever worked even for a fallen angle. I promise this story will not leave you unhappy only shocked. Shocked as to the attraction of a fallen angel to a beautiful woman or is she mere woman? Read the book I promise it will not disappoint
When Angles Fall
Turning to re-enter the main room, a faint chuckle filled the air. Turning to find the origin of the laugh, the panicked man
searched, but saw nothing. In the midst of anxiety and panic, James’ gut churned and heart pounded as he tried to make sense of the events. Feeling a presence in the room, the air grew cold and he could see his breath in every puff. It was nothing that he had ever felt and something that scared him shitless.

David Thornbrook is a man whose life has fallen apart. He is the CEO of a company that has recently been victim to an embezzlement scheme by two of its employees. The resulting scandal threatens to cost him both his job and his reputation. His parents won’t help him and the media is harassing him. Embarrassed and soon to be broke, he considers taking his life. Enter Margonne, a demon who enjoys tormenting humans. While looking for his next prey, he comes upon David and sees in him an opportunity to create havoc in the human world.

It is important to note that this is a novella, rather than a full novel. But it reads as if the author is considering continuing it into other stories. The main character is the anti-hero who rapes, tortures and murders his way through this dark story. The story is fast paced and entertaining. It’s easy to rally for the people trying to get away from this demon, or rid the world of him. If you’re looking for a quick read, I can recommend this one.

When Angels Fall…There's Hell to Pay

David Thornbrook had it all. He was the chief executive office of his family's company. He spent his money as fast as he could spend it. He lavished money on fabulous vacations, expensive cars, and women.

The crash hit. Under David's leadership, an embezzlement scheme hit the company's coffers. The public wanted answers. The media hounded him.

Margonne had been sentenced to hell for his crimes:

"Margonne, better known as the fallen one, grew tired of his underworld chores. Sentenced for malicious meddling in human lives, the fallen one would spend eternity torturing and shredding mankind’s damned souls. He found the task as lifeless as yesterday’s corpse and longed to mangle living, blood gushing human flesh."

When David sinks to the depths of despair, Margonne appears.

Lachelle Redd's When Angels Fall is an entertaining read, with lessons in redemption.

There were some seriously violent and scary situations in this book that I was just, 'oh my goodness'. David Thornbrook is faced with an embezzlement scandal that destroys his family name and company Thornebrook, Hall & Caine. Margonne is a demon who guards hell’s gates and tortures those that enter hell. David attempts suicide and Margonne possesses his body. The new David is cruel and abusive. This story is shocking and sexually charged. David meets JoAnn who isn't at all what she seems. The writing is really good. The story immediately draws you in and I didn't want to put it down because I was so curious as to what could possibly happen next. It is a short book and fast read. It was really good and then it ends abruptly. I eagerly await the continuation of this story. 4 stars.

This is the first time I have read this author. It was not what I was expecting. This book is only 138 pages but seems twice as long as there is so much going on. Many twists and turns along the way. Margonne is a demon you do not want to encounter as David Thornbrook found out. If you like a well written paranormal this book is for you.

This is her best yet and I've read a few of Lachelle's. I really liked the way this story built where a fallen angel takes over a company. It really drew me in from the beginning and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

I was not a fan of this book at all. This book didn't seem to have the kind of flow and detail that I was looking for. The Angel also was a bit overboard of being a complete dick. I like the idea of the book, I just do not think it was done properly. There also was some spelling errors and some pages that only had a paragraph in it.

I liked the story itself, but I felt like the plot could have been better developed. As more of a smaller novel I realize that the information needs to be wrapped up quickly, but in my opinion I think that the plot should have been developed more slowly and that more information should have been given. I think that if expanded into a more logical plot progression this book would have been better.

Thanks LibraryThing for a free book to read and review.

Interesting idea, startling plot, and awesome cover. I enjoyed reading this, though the plot could have been fleshed out a bit more. I would definitely read from again. Overall entertainment is three stars.
