Beautiful Samurai, White Tiger

Rate this book
Japanese police inspector Toshi and his American partner John are back in this sequel to His Beautiful Samurai. Toshi and John are still reeling from their last adventure, dealing with family issues and trying to get ready for Toshi's uncle's funeral. During the funeral preparations, Toshi realizes that his uncle's dear friend Tokuma was more than a friend, and that Tokuma needs his help.

Fearing his nephew Yuzo has been kidnapped by the Yakuza, Tokuma asks Toshi and John to look into the young man's disappearance. Their investigation takes them into the murky underworld of the Japanese mob, and eventually leads them undercover to the temple of the White Tiger, a place of spirituality, love and danger.

Learning the ways of the White Tiger opens John up to his psychic ability in unexpected ways, and brings the lovers closer than they ever thought possible. Through a series of unbelievably erotic encounters, John and Toshi learn the power of their love, and begin to believe that they can overcome anything, from Toshi's disapproving family to the mystery of the missing nephew. Can they find Yuzo before it's too late?

Sedonia Guillone wanted to be an author since the age of six when she first volunteered in the school library and the librarian had to put a limit on how many times she checked out her favorite books. Then at sixteen, a short story she wrote won honorable mention in a contest by the League of American Pen Women and there was no stopping her. Since then, her first M/M mystery/suspense, His Beautiful Samurai, was nominated for a Gaylactic Spectrum Award and has been required reading in a college gay and lesbian literature course. Her M/M romance, Men of Tokyo: Sudden Bliss won a Rainbow Awards honorable mention in the Conteporary category and her historical romance, Lady of Two Lairds was a finalist for The Romance Studio's Cupid and Psyche Awards and A Passionate Plume Ink Chapter of Romance Writers of America. When she's not writing, she's baking something, talking baby talk to her two cats, Iroh and Zuko and hiking in the woods of Maine with her partner.

This is #2 of the Genjin/Holmes Mysteries and could be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading #1 first as the mystery they solved in it is mentioned quite a bit. Japanese Police inspector Toshi and his American psychic partner become involved in missing persons case at the request of an old friend of Toshi’s uncle. They go undercover as a couple to the White Tiger Inn, where the missing man had been staying. Along the way they have to contend with the fallout from Toshi breaking his engagement and his father’s displeasure about it, as well as realising that Toshi’s police partner is finding it difficult to accept that Toshi , the son he never had, will likely leave for the USA permanently. They also come into contact with the Yakuza {the Japanese mob} and that rarely goes well for anyone. However, learning about the ways of the White Tiger is very sensual and opens up John’s psychic gifts in an unexpected way, which benefits both their investigation and their relationship. If you’re looking for a very erotic read, then this is the book for you.
Overall, it is a very entertaining book and a melding of two cultures – the pragmatism of American John and the spirituality of Japanese Toshi.

This is a great series of 2 books about the same MC's, John and Toshi - I just love them - so sexy and smart and just soooo!!!

These 2 books leads into a whole other series "White Tiger" which take place in the hotel that is featured in the 2nd book of this series. Each of those books center on 2 new MC's.
