The Miracle of the Seventh-day Ox

Rate this book
“Do you mean to tell me that you’ve been locking this man up in this crate for two years, and it hasn’t done any good? Did it ever occur to you that there may be a good reason this man isn’t following your orders?”Nickolai Panchuk, a pastor living in Communist Russia, struggled as a prisoner of the KGB to find his purpose. Persecuted for his Christian faith, Nickolai remained in a Siberian camp for 10 years, refusing to sacrifice his faith and suffering the consequences. Harassed, beaten, and dejected, Nickolai found hope in the unlikeliest an old ox named Maksim. With the help and strength of God, Nickolai and Maksim worked together to perform a weekly miracle—witnessing for Christ in the most disparaging of circumstances and winning souls along the way.

Men who previously lacked a definite sense of purpose can often look back on a single experience that altered the course of their lives.

For some, it is the love of a woman. For others, it is the death of one.

In the case of Bradley Booth, the combination of both had such a profound effect that it led to him to write.

He lost his fiance to a rare form of leukemia and was advised to seek solace by venting his feeling among others who had suffered a similar tragedy.

Perhaps if he had done so, "I Apologize" would never have been written.

The culmination of five tormented years--during which he blamed himself for not doing more to save her--unleashed emotions that produced his first novel.

Her death and the dreams she once had for the future defined his purpose in life.

As for taking so long to publish the story, when asked, he simply answers, "I Apologize."

Such a great example off leaning on God and stepping back to let God reveal His glory in His OWN appointed time. The preacher man showed

great courage under fire! The devil tries to overcome God's people, but he will not prevail! A very inspirational read! Thankyou

GREAT!

Not a lengthy book, but if one hangs in, they will be greatly rewarded by the last few chapters. I laughed hysterically through those, with rejoicing in my heart

Faith restored

God is always in control. But we have to be faithful and belive that our hardship for faith is nothing in relation to his ability to do miracles.

Easy and inspiring read

Stand true to the faith and God will not let you down. Keep praying even when you do not get answers immediately. It’s almost like I didn’t want the story to end.

For anyone who wants to be encouraged and inspired by what God can do when you are faithful, this is the book for you. It follows one mans journey through war torn Russia and the trials that are in his path because he will not let go of his faith and his God. But God used all these trials for good, not only to test him but also to be a witness to many.

The Miracle of the Seventh-Day Ox by Bradley Booth - Oh my goodness. This is a true story of horror of what pastor Nickolai Panchuk went endured for his faith and the miracles that followed because of his faith in his God. If we could only have faith like his.
