Dr. Joanne Collins-Gonsalves is an academic historian and holds a PhD in History. She is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, UK; the Managing Director of Historical Research International Inc. (Canada); Research Fellow, Advisor for History of the Farquharson Institute of Public Affairs. She is a also a Rotarian and Board Member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and serves on the Advisory Board of the Journal of the Royal Nova Scotia Historical Society.
She has the honour of being named Canada’s Top 100 Black Women to Watch for 2025.
Dr. Joanne Collins-Gonsalves is the author of the following books: Portuguese in Business in Guyana 1835-1935: A History of Entrepreneurship, Expansion, and Diversification (2025).
