Brian really captures the vibe of what it means to be a Gothic writer. Fractured is like nothing I've ever read before. Rook Maison is a wonderfully complex and interesting character. Brian does a fantastic job of showing us this "fractured" person slowly devolves from a pious and goodly man to a coarse, driven, and obsessed man who will stop at nothing to find the truth and destroy it. Whenever the Angel of Death makes an appearance, he is exactly who I imagined him to be. Brian captures his voice expertly. I'm so excited to see where this story goes. It has me hooked.
A wonderful mix of Horror, Sci-Fi, with undertones of religion. Angels and Demons battling over the human race and one human in particular. Can't wait for next book in the series.
But I do think it's a great read and is a story that should captivate you if you're into darker stories about ghosts, murder, and rallying against the forces of Heaven and Hell.
