A very emotionally engaging poetry book. The collection takes you through the speaker coming to terms with the loss of her relationship due to infidelity. Many lines, stanzas, and whole poems are powerful and striking to read.
I have a particular affinity for this kind of non-fiction narrative poetry because it is the kind of poetry I write. It's why I picked up the book. The speaker does an excellent job of immersing you in the feelings of the poem, even if your own life experiences don't match. In short-- Many feels.
The collection is very intimate. Because of this, it is casual, and there are moments where I think word choice could be improved, or other moments where a striking line is undercut by the line following. Which is why my score is what it is. I do recommend people read this book. I enjoyed it.
