☆2 DNF 15% Age gap should mean the man has more than caught up in emotional maturity. Otherwise what’s the point?

What’s-his-name’s POV doesn’t sound like a middle-aged dad of her BFF at all. Really annoys me when there’s a huge age gap, but the much older man’s inner monologue consists of nothing except how much he wants to bang this young chick. Sounds more like a 14 yo riding the Puberty Express. I really liked how the story started out, focused on the H’s career aspirations and the dynamics of her type of work. But as soon as they saw each other in person, it became this nonstop “must-bang-her-but-can’t-bang-her monologue. 🥱

#Review: *Finding out* - Jenni Bara - ARC [18+]
4.3/5✨
3/5🌶️

I've wanted to read something by Jenni Bara for a while now. That's why I'm super grateful for accepting me for this ARC, The Author Agency and Jenni!

This story follows an age gap romance. Wren Jacobs or 'Baby Girl' has had a crush for her best friend's dad for a while now. But she never expressed her feelings nor she did something towards them. That was until she was kind of forced to work close with him, aka Tom Wilson or 'Daddy Wilson'.

Being this close to Tom, Wren had a hard time ignoring her feelings. The surprise was that he was in the same situation. One thing led to another and they just felt that electricity pulling them together. A steamy night together will make this situation even harder, because of their age gap of 19 years. Besides that, they needed to think about Tom's daughter, Avery, and Wren's parents, who would be hard to convince that what they have is, in fact, a beautiful thing.

Tom and Wren had to live in their own bubble of happiness, having a secret relationship, not wanting to spoil what they had together. But that only complicated things, because the truth always comes to surface. Will they fight and win for their love?

This book was a pretty quick read, filled with desire, passion and sweetness. It was nice to follow the beautiful bond between Wren and Tom, how well they fitted together despite the big age gap between them.

Despite my initial reservations, I ended up reading this book—and yes, I absolutely hated it. The story felt rushed, and the relationship seemed more like a fleeting attraction than a real connection. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Avery, while growing increasingly frustrated with both protagonists. They constantly gaslit their actions, and demanded instant understanding and forgiveness from the others. And let’s be real: going after your best friend’s dad is 100% breaking girl code—it’s just weird and wrong. The same as going on your bff daughter . Plus, that moment when Erin says, 'Oh, I’ve been trying to set you two up'—seriously, the author’s desperation for us to love this relationship was painfully obvious. The quickness of their connection made it feel immature, unrealistic, and forced, and honestly, it just made me annoyed with them.

Finding Out is the fourth in The Boston Revs Three Outs by Jenni Bara. Who didn’t want this book the second Daddy Wilson and Wren first interacted in the previous books?

Tom is organised, systematic, and calm. Wren is brilliant and chaotic. They’re complete opposites, but they balance each other perfectly. They have so much chemistry and they’re amazing together. There was always so much tension and attraction between the two, but they were both resisting it for the sake of their families. When they finally gave in to the temptation, it was glorious. And hot. And messy.

Their relationship development was a delight to read. It was so good seeing they support each other in spite of the hurt and heartbreak. Their love was inspiring and romantic.

Finding Out is about allowing yourself to follow your heart and fight for your happiness. It’s a steamy, sweet and heartwarming story that was well written and perfectly paced. I can’t wait to see more of this couple in the coming books.

I absolutely liked this one. The book was the perfect length, it wasn't dragged out, and I adored Tom and how he would do everything for Wren.🫶
The only thing I didn't like is his nickname for Wren, baby girl, which I love in other situations, but this is a best friend's dad trope so it gave me a little ick.

💭 overall thoughts:
OK… so… HEAR ME OUT.
I’m NOT an age gap girlie. There are sooo many things about the trope that give me the ick.

This book actually had quite a few of elements that I generally dislike.

BUT - I ate this up!

It did help me to know this was coming before I even started book 1 (I binged the series this month 🙃).

I highly recommend reading them all (they’re worth it) and in order, to get all the teases for these two up until now!

Wren & TOM are just such a good fit, they make so much sense together. They have so much in common, and it was great to see them both going for what they truly want.

dnf @72% so in calling it finished. this sucked. WEIRD!!!!!! age gap i can get over. daughters best friend and best friends daughter who he’s known her entire life and just decided she got hot after college. weird. if i was avery (best friend/daughter) i would pull a gun on them. they wouldn’t even let me forget it either. he’d bring her something she loved and be like. well i used to bring them home for you and avery when you were younger. YUCK

and if i ignored that major issue. the story was rushed. AND they had no chemistry. literally nothing was going on the entire book.

Tom aka Daddy Wilson is Wren best friends dad and since coming back from College Tom has tried to keep his distance due to attraction he has for her but when getting a piece of art through Wren work ends up putting them together in New York they can no longer fight it even though they know it could hurt their relationship with Tom’s daughter and Wrens dad but can they stay apart.. I love how daddy Wilson showed Wren she was with a real man for example him driving her back home even though the snow storm due to how important her job is to her , remembering her coffee order or just doing things like going the extra mile for someone you care for I loved that about him .. I also loved how he made sure everyone stilled loved Wren once it all came out !!

SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥

What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man…. Yes he is!

Daddy Wilson and Wren were everything I ever could have imagined and so much more. I have wanted these two to be a thing from the second she teased him and they blew my every expectation out of the water!

💙 Baseball Coach x Art Curator
💙 Snowed In / Forced Proximity
💙 Best Friend’s Dad
💙 Age Gap
💙 Secret Relationship

I loved every second of this, this entire universe continues to be one of my absolutely favorite fictional places ever. Wren and Tom gave me everything I wanted. She is his daughter’s best friend, but he wants her as so much more. The age gap in this hit so well since Wren is just a force on her own, and she fit so so well with Tom now that he saw her as an adult and an equal.

They truly were a kismet match, but watching them fight it was just just as delicious as when they gave in.

I ate this up in a couple hours and loved every single word! 10/10 not a single criticism to be had!

Realistically this is a novella and I ate up these 190 pages. Probably my favourite of the series because i am feral for an age gap and a forbidden romance.

I’d been rooting for these two since book 1. Their tension from the beginning was so good, and I loved the little stolen glances and Wren giving Tom so much shit. Their connection was so hot, and went beyond the physical which was nice. Seeing a different side to Tom too was so sweet. He was an absolute goner for Wren; I loved that her crush was reciprocated!!

The way Avery reacted annoyed me, but she did redeem herself so I’ll let that slide.

Absolutely enjoyed this series, looking forward to Asher and Zara.

Well! I knew this was going to be good but dang! I wasn’t expecting that it would be this good.
I’ve loved Daddy Wilson since book 1 and knew I would want him and Wren together. Thank you Jenni for making dreams come true. This man was everything I hoped he would be. The way he called her “baby girl 🥵🫠 The way he cared for her! Ahh! I loved it.

“In that moment, I was sure of two things: Wren was fighting her feelings for me as hard as I used to fight my feelings for her. And that with some persistence, I was sure I’d get to call her mine.”

I knew I would giggle and blush during this book but I was not ready for the emotions that hit me at the end! This book nailed Best Friends Dad and the drama that unfolded was perfect.

LOVE all the tropes in here however i wish it was longer 🥲 not even 200 pages it felt very rushed.

tbh i never thought we’d get these two together after the first book so i guess i should be happy with what i got but. it could’ve used an extra 100 pages or so

Oh. My. Gosh. I ate this book up and left no crumbs. I have been wanting this story since I first read The Fall Out because even then it was obvious Wren had a thing for her best friend’s dad—and that Tom was fighting that same attraction with all his might. I do not usually love age gaps, but Daddy Wilson was perfect. And every single time he called Wren baby girl, I was a puddle.

I loved the way Jenni built their connection beyond a physical one and tapped into shared interests. Tom showing his soft and caring side with Wren was so swoony. And I really liked how it all played out after everyone found out about these two with Daddy Wilson proving to everyone that Wren was meant to be his.

*edit to add audio review* So good! Sebastian York had the perfect voice for Daddy Wilson. This was my first listen with Janine Granda, and she was definitely the perfect choice for Wren. Getting to hear these two bring the characters to life was an amazing reread experience.

"The second our lips met, an inferno lit inside me. Normally a kiss was a kiss. But with Wren, it was branding. A permanent mark on my skin. On my heart."
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I’ve been anticipating this novella from the first moment Wren taunted & teased her best friend Avery’s dad in The Fall Out with the nickname 𝘿𝙖𝙙𝙙𝙮 𝙒𝙞𝙡𝙨𝙤𝙣. The chemistry was palpable between them even then, but it had NOTHING on this book!! 🙌🏻 This holiday story might be pint sized but there was absolutely nothing lacking for me. The plot, the banter, the tension, the spice, the character development and emotional scenes were just as complete as a full length novel and I have zero notes. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝟭𝟬/𝟭𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲!

Never ever has 'baby girl' sounded so damn good than from Daddy Wilson’s lips! 🫦 This nickname usually isn’t my favourite, but it worked so well to up the forbidden aspect of the romance without belittling the FMC. Wren is competent, confident, high achieving and driven despite her age and not once did Tom treat her out to be less than (which is SO important to me in an age gap romance). She is a badass and rather than view her as his daughter’s childhood best friend, he respected and fell for her as a grown woman. I loved seeing Wren’s playful side coaxing Tom away from his exacting standards and breathing some life back into him.

The angst and tension towards the end of this book was SO FLIPPIN’ GOOD!! It had me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next and even had my heart drop into my stomach at one point. Jenni’s writing keeps getting better and better and this novella took me on an emotional ride I wasn’t expecting.

And we can’t forget about the spice… because this one PACKS A PUNCH in the forbidden romance department 🔥 The push/pull between these two and their mutual, long time attraction was so well done. It simmered below the surface with lots of flirting until it eventually came to a boil over point that was sooooo satisfying! The mouth on Daddy Wilson was top shelf my friends and he gave all the possessive, claiming, protective vibes you could ever want!

This novella is SUCH A HIT and I loved it from start to finish! Thank you so much Jenni for the ARC in exchange for an honest review 🤍

Review : I've been waiting for Wren and Daddy Wilson's book, and I loved it .

So Wren is in charge of this client to buy a painting and turns out it's Tom aka daddy Wilson.

They are in NYC, and they get the painting, but they are stuck in a hotel together and end up hooking up.

When they get back, Wren wanted it to be a one-time thing cause she's afraid of how people would react, and Tom wants Wren he's done fighting his feelings.

They start dating secretly

But then it all comes out in front of Avery and Wren's dad, who is Tom best friend .

They aren't exactly happy about it

Avery wedding comes, and Avery isn't too happy and wasn't very supportive of their relationship, but she comes around, so does Wren dad .

But things work out for them and they are Happy with their dog also ❤️

✨✨OVERALL REVIEW✨✨

The stars of this book are Wren Jacob’s and Tom Wilson (aka Daddy Wilson). Tom is the father of Wrens best friend Avery and she’s grown up around him most of her life. To make things more complicated Tom is best friends with Wrens dad. She’s called him Daddy Wilson for a long time as a joke to bother him. Maybe that makes it into the bedroom or Tom hates it. You’ll have to open the pages to see. There’s a 19 year age gap. She’s 30 and he’s 49. Normally age gaps are iffy with me, but I felt this gap was perfect.

Wrens making a name for herself at the art auction house she works for. When she’s given the opportunity to work with one of the biggest clients she is determined to show her boss she can handle it. She plans everything meticulously determined to be professional and knock the assignment out of the park. Until, she sees her client is Tom Wilson. Wren has been crushing on Tom for years & Tom has been fighting feelings for Wren for the last two years. One Hotel room in NYC, snowed in, flirting, long held attraction. What could go wrong?

I loved these two as a couple. Navigating her friendship, his relationship with his daughter, and Wrens family was a lot but damn Daddy Wilson did not disappoint. Why was he so perfect but not real?? There were some moments that broke my heart and others that made me kick my feet. Jenni did a great job showcasing the depth of their relationship. These two were the most mature couple I’ve ever read and it was so refreshing.

I CAN’T NOT, mention a spicy moment. During a bit of 69 determined to get Tom there…….

Well you’ll have to read to find out but his reaction after was the hottest scene in the whole book.

💙OF COURSE, I can’t leave Beckett out of my review ya know, making a classic Beckett cameo. Even after all these books he’s till trying to play match maker. LOVED that the scene had Cortney in it. I missed hearing “man bun.” 😂

ALC AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:

Narrated in duet by Sebastian York and Janine Granda

Daddy Wilson

I am devouring this series and only excited for more. The Boston Revs has an incredible group of close friends, teamates, and family so when Tom Wilson, the coach for the Boston Revs is lusting over his best friends daughter, Wren Jacobs (who also happens to be Tom’s daughters best friend) things are about to get a little tense. I love an age gap and this one was fun, with Wren being an incredibly independent woman thriving in her career it’s no wonder she caught Tom’s eye. No longer looking at Wren as his daughter’s best friend but as a beautiful, driven 25 year old woman the pull towards each other was strong. The confidence both Wren and Tom exudes is exciting to read, with their careers and passions the connection of having more things in common only lit the spark between them, not to mention the sexual chemistry was fire. Narrating in duet I loved Janine Granda’s voice, it expressed the woman Wren is, polished, well educated, independent, yet sassy and loyal. And Sebastian York did a perfect Daddy Wilson voice, as the over protective yet soft for the ones he loves, Sebastian was able to express his character so well. I can’t wait for more from this series.

Thank you Jenni Bara and team for the opportunity to listen and review.

Getting to come back to the Boston Revs and getting some small Langfield cameos is like coming home. This whole world spanning multiple series and authors is just, honestly, perfection.

I knew I wanted a Daddy Wilson book for a while now and did Jenni ever freaking deliver! Wow...Tom and Wren are couple's goals. I read this in one day...on Thanksgiving...that's how much I just COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. It's not quite full-length, but not quite novella. It's honestly the perfect length.

I also chose the wrong time to read this since the commies are invading the funhouse starting today and I'm super, overly emotional and my heart was breaking for these two some sneaky tears even fell and I do not cry with books...

There's no third-act break up, but there is still third-act heartbreak. They were so strong and sure of each other that they were willing to sacrifice everything and everyone for each other. Tom needed a little chaos and Wren needed some room to be herself and continue to have her own life. Their mutual love of art and the connection that they already had because of it just was perfect. And don't get me started on the steam and spice of this book.

Wren is Tom's (Daddy Wilson) daughter's best friend and also his best friend's daughter. Tom was just hired as her new client to attend NYC and help transfer an art piece. Not only are they going to NYC together, but they're also sharing a suite.

I mean, what could go wrong? 😬

I enjoyed how this played out, even though I didn't love Avery's reaction. I love how Tom didn't back down from anyone and stood by Wren. Leo was one of my favorites in this, too. His reactions had me laughing out loud! This was a quick and fun read. It's a little longer than a Novella, but it flows well and does not feel rushed.

This was my first book by Jenni Bara and I enjoyed this age gap, forbidden romance. Wren and Avery are best friends. Avery's dad, Tom is best friends with Wren's dad. Wren works in the art world and is securing a piece for a high-end, secretive client, who turns out to be Daddy Wilson (also known as Tom). The two just can't hold back their feelings when they get snowed in together at the hotel. Remember how everyone is connected....well Avery is getting married soon and this tangled web is about to get exposed!

⚾ Boston Rev's Head Coach

This is the first book that I have read from the Boston Rev's Series by Jenni Bara and I really enjoyed it! I love a forbidden romance and love seeing an authors take on everything. It is always interesting to see how they have different characters react and respond to news that you definitely don't expect to hear.

Wren Jacobs has worked her way through the company she works for in the art world. She has worked hard to show that she deserves the spot that she has coveted from the beginning. What she never expected was to be sent on a trip to work with a client that was known to be difficult. She just wasn't expecting that client to be the one man that she has had a crush on for a long time.

Wren couldn't help but fall for the one man she has had a crush on forever. He is not only the perfect man for her but also her best friends dad. She struggled with how both of them were going to handle having a relationship, much less telling their families. She wanted him in her life, but she didn't want to lose the people in their lives either.

Wren truly struggled with every aspect but her love for Daddy Wilson. That was never an issue. She knew where her heart was with him. She knew there was no one who could ever love her like he could. He knew her better than she knew herself sometimes and she couldn't ignore that fact just because their families wouldn't agree with their choices right away.

Daddy Wilson was such an amazing and patient man. He was one man who was willing to do anything it took to make sure that everyone that surrounded Wren and himself would understand his love for her. He would go to the lengths of Earths for her, it was only a matter of what he needed to do. He only wanted her from the very beginning and knew she was perfect for the job that he had in mind. Wren was very good at her job and Daddy Wilson knew that she was the perfect person to help procure his art gallery that he has been wanting to have to so long.

Wren and Daddy Wilson were the perfect match for each other. They knew each other better than I thought they were going to. Even after all the time that they have known each other, it has always been from a distance. He was her best friends dad, but that made no difference once they were able to come together. They had a chemistry like no other.

Daddy Wilson made promises to Wren that he would make sure that everyone wouldn't disapprove of their being together. Even though there was push back from both sides he was more than willing to go the distance and speak to both sides to smooth things over. I loved that about him.

Thank you to Jenni Bara for my complimentary copy in exchange for my honest and voluntary opinion!

Ahhhh I am drooling over Daddy Wilson! I am such a simp for aga gap books and this one did not disappoint. Wren and Tom have the kind of chemistry that leaps off the pages. The push/pull element of a forbidden romance also gives their chemistry an edge to it. This book gives you the romance the spice and the tension of will they caught all rolled up in one. Its a page turner for sure.

Edit: I was lucky enought to receive the ALC from Jenni and squealed when I realized it had one of my fave narrators! Its narrated by Sebastian York and Janine Granda and the two of them together are magic. Even though I had just read the book I devoured the audio version!

Tom Wilson. Daddy. Coach.

God how I love this man! If you’ve read any of the books in the Boston Revs series you’ll know Tom as Avery’s dad, head coach of the team and the older bachelor who has intrigued so many of us. And this book was his turn to shine!

Of course, it’s his daughter’s best friend, Wren, who has captured his attention (and heart) for several years, though he’s never acted on it. When circumstances find them snowed in together in New York, what was once innocent flirting becomes so much more, as true feelings are revealed.

This not-quite-a-novella packs a punch and we get to see these two discover love, comfort, friendship and passion in each other.

🤍Age Gap
🤍Daughter’s Best Friend
🤍Forced Proximity
🤍Forbidden/Secret Relationship
🤍Dual POV

This story definitely has some v satisfying spice but honestly it’s the emotional aspects that really sucked me in. I loved Tom and Wren together — how she brings out his lighter side and how he shows her what true affection feels like.

Once their secret is revealed (in a sort of disastrous way!), it was both heartbreaking at the fallout with loved ones and heartwarming at how strongly Wren and Tom held to their love and connection in spite of what was going on around them.

For a shorter story, this one packs in so much and I just loved it. We got our Daddy Wilson book and it was so worth the wait!

Thanks so much to Jenni and The Author Agency for the chance to read this in advance!
