The Infected #7

Ghost Girl

Rate this book
The book that you've all been waiting for!

The Infected world is ready to explode.
Scott Chamber, the hero known as Prime to most of the world, along with Becky Young, who used to be known as Dharma before she took her own life, must work together to save them all. Against things so far out of their power class that it might be impossible.
An old enemy, and new friends appear, combined with more headaches than even the IPB normally has to deal with at one time.
Can Prime, the world's greatest super-hero, or at least it's most famous, stop things in time? Can he even survive it?
Possibly, but only if he can learn to accept help from a most unlikely source. A dead girl that he drove to suicide.

P.S. Power

P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line.

Hello Everyone!

In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!

Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

p.s. - Also going to try and get the feed that comes with this to feed into Amazon and Goodreads. Good luck to one and all!!

This part of the book was a lot better than the last one, Goblin. First off, actual plot progression. Character(s) turn out to be actually really interesting, and don't just focus on themselves, like Tobin did in Goblin. This time we've got Becky and Prime to follow and their POV is one of the best of the series, on par maybe with the second one, Gabriel, which is about Dennis' POV.

We get more information about the bigotry and hate, even in the rows of the Infected themselves. We get some arguments against the IPB itself as well. I really wish this part would be discussed more in the books. It's easy to say people are bigots. But why do they behave like that? What are the reasons they react like they do? Why they won't tolerate, won't change their view? I seriously miss that part in the books. It's implied, and mentioned at some points that they are afraid, and that's it. For every argument of why they react badly to infected and the IPB, we got at least two comments of "what bigots they are" and as a bonus one regular character who uses the hate for his or her own purposes. But let's face it. The IPB goes out and SAVES people. People should be happy at least someone protects them, but apparently not one person who was saved thanks them. It makes the world seem as if all non-infected are bigots or ungrateful on-lookers, while half of the infected are evil, the other half good (although flawed). (I'm not counting the groupies, as they only love some characters for their looks or the music they make, not for what they actually do.)

"Ghost Girl", the seventh installment in the series, is kicking off towards the climax and end of the series. It's very well paced, at times tense, and at the end it actually threatens you with feels. Which is surprising, because essentially, with every character that's ever in danger, I never feel worried at all. That's because no one remotely important ever dies. Unless they are evil. And even then, everyone is replaceable!

I really liked one of the twists in this one, because I could have actually guessed it, but didn't. Which brings me to my thesis of Braid from the last book, which I had to scrap in this one, making the sixth book with Goblin even more useless in my opinion Another twist seemed random, but made sense. Misuse of drugs was never even really mentioned in the books I believe, but again, believable if a bit sudden. Seriously, lack of foreshadowing is lack of foreshadowing.

I really liked the characters in this one and their growth. The plot itself was pretty solid overall, and the ending was awesome. I believe I'll enjoy the last two books of the series with Bridgie (love that girl!) and Brian (please don't attack/kill/maim any police officers anymore!!) a lot.

A great addition to the story line! Dharma and Prime expanded two of the base characters by giving insight into their views. Things are also getting pretty dark too, really dark. The hatred of the Infected is growing and the forces wanting to round them up into camps and kill them are getting stronger. We also get to add in a new view of things from the after life, things are heading towards a big fight and they get some help from beyond.

Winding up with the next to last book but one

Having a story about the ghost girl and Prime is cool. The story is winding down and loose ends are being tied up. I am wondering if the other series tied into the multiple realities thing will continue or if this series will cold into them. This is confusing, but so is life in general.

Yet another great installment in the series

At the onset I thought I was going to struggle getting into this book, but that was far from the case. The book seems to be more about character development and back story, and that is a good thing in this case. I'm excited to get into the next book.

sorry, this series is working less and less for me the more the series continues. I have gotten this far so will continue but each book seems to be taking longer.
I appreciate this is a minority opinion so try it and see

Great addition to the series, really I loved this one, we got to know better Prime and Becky, and this characters had a different depth that anyone else could believe. The ending was just spectacular the right amount of expectation to rush to the next book.
