Sparrow: A Romance

Rate this book
Sparrow is the fifth and final book in the Memphis Players Series. All books in the series can be read as standalones, but for the best reading experience, it is recommended that you read them in order.

Owen Atkinson had traveled extensively, but this was his first time in Montana. He was there as a co-star in a movie being filmed in one of the most picturesque places he had ever seen. He was focused, driven, and determined. Meeting a woman while filming was the furthest thing from his mind. That is why Corey Jones took him completely off guard. She was unlike any woman he had ever met. He had an uncontrollable urge to pursue her. And once he learned more about her, that became an urge to rescue her.

A story with heart and major plot twists

Wow! Just wow! The blurb on the book in no way prepared me for where the author was taking the story. I was enthralled and glued to the pages. At one point I had to set down the book because I was shocked and absolutely had to talk to someone, anyone really, about what was happening in the storyline. Thankfully my husband was right there next to me so I could let out my little scream of excitement and explain what was happening followed by multiple ‘I have no idea what is coming next!‘
I read the book in one setting, a perfect length for an afternoon read at the beach. I’m not big on drama but I loved the drama of this one.
Rating: PG, clean, some light drama/suspense. Triggers: one character has unhealthy family relationships with a history of possible family abuse situation.

A Love Worth Waiting For

The entire Memphis Players series is a must read! Book 5 ‘Sparrow’ is my favorite but read them in order to be introduced to each member of the group. Each book develops a love interest for one of the members. In Sparrow, Owen starred in a play written by one of the group which launched Owen into motion pictures. While on set in Montana, he meets Corey. When her controlling, secretive sometimes dangerous family learns about her meeting Owen; they keep them apart. Corey’s family causes an accident and she is hurt. This is the turning point in their story. Treat yourself to this wonderful love story.

I love Brooke St James and her sweet, passionate writing style. I can always count on 20 well written chapters with such interesting story lines and characters. This is Owen and Corey's story. I start every BSJ book with an open mind because I can't ever predict their lives, how they meet or their journey along the way and I love expecting the unexpected. It is always bittersweet when we come to the end of a series, even though I can't wait to see what comes next, saying goodbye to characters is always sad.

I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Actor Owen Atkinson meets Corey Jones when he purchases some jewelry for his mother’s birthday. He is fascinated with her and she agrees to meet him, but when her mother and the man they live with find out, they try to prevent them from seeing each other. Corey walks away with Owen and he sends her to his parents to recover from her broken ankle. A captivating story about breaking free, working together, and falling in love.

Loved It!

This entire series just keeps getting better and better. These are one click buys for me. Corey such a strong and resilient leading lady. I don’t know how id expect Owen to be but he didn’t disappoint, quite the man. He didn’t hesitate to love and support Corey. I was happy to hear about the updates from the prior characters. Although, a series each story is standalone. Five stars plus. Read this book:-).

Frightening in all the ways someone can be controlled by another person, but hopeful in that all it takes is one person to help. Not thrilled with the negative on homeschooling, but only a part of what was going on with this isolation. Clean romance, sweet story related to the Memphis players. Owen and Corey have a good story.

What a unique story. Owen is such a sweet guy. I love that he is such a good man. He knows what he wants and he’s not afraid to go after it, even if it takes a lot of time and effort. Corey is a sweet girl just trying to survive her crazy and overprotective family. I felt like I could really identify with her character. I was cheering her own the whole time. I really enjoyed this book. Brooke St James is an incredible author and each of her stories are unique and fun and this book lives up to her standards.

3* This was an interesting story, but the romantic feelings were extremely rushed. I enjoyed this series and was glad for the updates on the characters from previous books. As always, the author is able to create characters who feel real and novel situations that move along.

Excellent book!

Corey lived a very very sheltered life. She didn't realize how sheltered it was until she met Owen. He walked into the jewelry store and everything changed for Corey.

This one will tug at your heart strings! Owen literally saves Corey from an abusive situation. I love how smitten he is with her and how she was ‘it’ from the very beginning. Corey is so strong and hasn’t let life dull her kindness🤎

This book was as amazing as the other 4. Couldn't put it down. Loved the story of Owen becoming an actor and meeting the love of his life. A wonderful end to the series. Keep writing, I love your books.

Sparrow

The storyline was good, but the execution and writing were terrible. To me it sounded as though a middle school student had written it.
I usually like this author, but this novel fell flat on its face.

yuck

Steve’s wife says, “No thanks. Not what it was billed as. I don’t need to read about tongues sliding together in a supposedly clean book.”

What an amazing series! Book 5 was so intriguing that I couldn't put it down. Hard to imagine someone growing up in such a way could be a functioning adult. A handsome stranger comes into town and changes her life. I loved seeing how they come together.
