Very good book!!

I learned a great deal about miss Earhart and her life , that I didn't know. I have always been intrigued by her story!!!! I would recommend it to anyone who loves history!!!

Like almost everyone, I have heard of Amelia Earhart and her tragic loss in 1937, an on going mystery that may never be solved. I had never read much more than a magazine article about her so I jumped at the chance to read this book by Nancy Nahra. This biography about an amazing woman was informative, well researched and written, although I do have to admit to finding some proof-reading errors early on. I look forward to finding further information on the subject and additional books by this author.

Growing up with a mom from Amelia's hometown (who at one time lived in the house where Amelia was born when it was converted to apartments for a short time), I thought I had heard every story about her you can imagine. This book was interesting in that it gave you a look at her difficult childhood. None of the disappearance theories were new to me. Still can't imagine how she just disappeared without a trace - but then, where is Jimmy Hoffa, Judge Crater, and Glenn Miller.

The book is a quick read about an extremely accomplished, strong willed woman. I have read other books about Amelia Earhart but this one was perfect for getting to the point on all stages of her life. Her childhood with is trials, tribulations to the triumphs and her strive to become the woman she was.

For someone who does not know much about Amelia Earhart, this book is a good way to get acquanited. It is not long, not a scholarly work -- but shares enough pertinent material to bring Amelia to life. I was surprised by her winsome personality, her scientic acumen, and her place among the female fliers of her day.
