Real Love #3

Love Required

Rate this book
Book three in the Amazon Bestselling The Real Love Series.
While it is part of a series, Love Required can be read as a stand alone.
However, to fully enjoy the dynamic of friends in this story,
I would recommend starting at the beginning.

Jason Michaels knows second chances are very much a part of “happy ever after.”
He’s seen it firsthand, more than once. So when will it be his turn?
He has a great group of friends and family to share his life with, but he knows there is one thing still missing.
Love isn’t something he’s been avoiding, he just hasn’t found it yet… or has he?

Tori Peterson has made mistakes in her life, but they all pale in comparison to her marriage.
Luckily, she’s a woman who quickly learned from her mistakes.
Doing everything in her power to escape the man who promised to cherish her,
she builds herself a life she can be proud of.
Never again will she be fooled into being with a man who she might love.
She knows she has too much to lose.

Because settling for less than real love is no longer acceptable … this time, it’s required.

Her hope?
That she will recognize real love when she finds it.
Her fear?
That her past will catch her before she has a chance to find the love she deserves, the love that is required …

So what happens when her hopes and fears catch up to her at the same time?

This book contains situations which are not suitable for non-adult audiences. Suggested reading age is 18+

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one, and nurse to many. If you don’t believe her, just ask anyone in her family, they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffer, the keeper of missing socks, a genius according to a six year old, the coolest soccer uniform coordinator according to a twelve year old, and the best damn ‘mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last title isn’t really official, but it’s still pretty cool to be called it.

When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or another. But that’s mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When she is not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she’s working on. It’s a fun and crazy life to lead, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

I really enjoyed this. It was very low angst relationship wise. They get together and stay together. They actually COMMUNICATE. Huh...imagine that. No unnecessary drama or miscommunication between the two and it was still good.

Jason was absolutely amazing. While he wasn't OTT alpha that I normally eat right up, he was very swoon-worthy.
“You’re the first thought I have when I wake and the last thought I have when I fall asleep. Because when something happens during my day, you’re the first person I want to share it with. Because I know without a doubt, that if you were to walk away from me, I wouldn’t survive it. I choose you, Tori.”

He did everything right in my book. And him with Lexi? Ovaries exploding everywhere.

I loved Tori. She was a great heroine. It was nice to read about a heroine who, while abused by her ex, it wasn't years before she got out of the situation and she came out stronger and independent. She also wasn't scared of Jason or having a relationship with him.

Now I have to say, I didn't read the first two books. I wasn't lost when reading this one but was definitely curious as to how the others came to be. This is one weird quasi dysfunctional group. I'm not sure if I'm scared to read their stories or intrigued. But they work so it's all good.

I did take off half a star because I do think this could have benefited from being a wee bit shorter....I know, I usually wish books were longer. But the first 75% or so is just them getting together and establishing their relationship. I liked it but did find myself skimming just a bit because I knew something big was going to happen. The last 25% picked up and we get some suspense and a bit of nail biting. But Jason and Tori are true and there's absolutely nothing separating these two. I loved that.

I would definitely recommend this for romance lovers who like low angst relationships and swoon-worthy heroes.

This was a well written book with a very lovable H and h with a sweet baby thrown in. Add to that an awesome group of friends and it's everything I like in my romance books. My only negative is that it could've been shorter. I loved that it wasn't riddled with relationship angst. These two fought everything together and showed such respect and admiration for each other that was beautiful to read.

After delving back into this series recently I couldn’t help but 1-click the rest of the stories and this one was just as good as the first two.

Jason is the brother of Jake, he is a doting uncle to his nephews & nieces and loves his extended family. He has remained single for a long time, he knows that when he finds the one he will recognise her straight away, when he least expects it and he was completely right.

Tori came out of a toxic and violent marriage with a baby on the way. She wanted to get as far away from her old city as possible to begin a new life, one where she can feel safe and protect her baby daughter Lexi. She meets Jason at a wedding she is working at and there is an instant connection.

Jason was not looking for Tori but when he comes face to face with her, everything seems to just feel so right. It is a fleeting moment but one that fortuitously happens again the following day. The fact that she is a single mum to a gorgeous wee girl only endears her to him more. There is just something about these two that brings out a need to protect them.

When Jason learns a little about Tori’s past, it makes his desire to look after her and Lexi even stronger. He has never felt like this about any woman and she fits in so well with his family and friends. In fact, he can’t imagine a time when he wouldn’t want to be with them and he plans to make sure nothing ever happens to make that an option.

Despite Jason doing everything he can to keep the girls safe, there is still this feeling of dread that something could happen at any time. When they get word that danger could be nipping at Tori’s heels, Jason is even more determined to warp his protective barrier around them. Has he underestimated the danger though? Can you truly outplay a narcissist who is hell bent on revenge?

Wow, this story had a lot happening and I knew there was something coming, it was just a matter of when. I loved being back in the Baxter/Michaels world and really enjoyed Jason’s story!

This book is such a sweet and romantic read! You have a wonderful, sweet and beautiful heroine, Tori who survived a very abusive marriage. She is such a strong person and that is evident in everything that she does. Mild spoiler ahead

Then you have Jason, who I loved in the other books! He is Jake's brother aka Gigantor. He is such an amazing hero. He sees what he wants and goes after it. I loved their relationship alot because everything was spoke up front and honest. None of these silly games that I read about in many other books. This may just be my favorite in the group so far, but I did love them all. I think it's just subject matter preference because I am a sucker for a certain kind of romance - hidden in the spoiler above :)

If you are looking for a very romantic, sweet read, this is your book!

As with the other two books, loved this one just as much, if not more.
I think I need a jason.

It's nice to see a close knit group of friends and family there for each what ever the past.

Epilogue confused me a bit, was jason talking to Lexi or a new baby? As something tori said about 3 girls, and wanting to get nurse?
Is this going to be explained in another book.
Looking forward to johnathans next.
Though is this going to be written as a YA or as adult. As I have enjoyed the adult nature of this series.

Well, what can I say?
First I read Love Realized and was like "wow... I really like this book! The love they feel is almost touchable".
Then I read Love Resisted and I remember thinking that this book is better than the first one. I ALWAYS smile when Treasure is playing on the radio... I wonder why! ;)
Finally, I read Love Required. OH MY GOD!!! Really, somehow Melanie's writing keeps getting better and better!

Jason, in the other books, was like "ok... Jason". But in this book... He is soooo sweet and funny and passionate. I love his I'm-an-alpha-male-softie side. Where do I order one guy like this?
And Tori. Oh My God Tori! I Wanna be just like her when I grow up! She's so strong and still so happy about her life. She’s capable of seeing a bright side in everything (despite of what happened to her in the past)... She’s not that type of heroine like the ones from other books that sit down, bitch about their life, and wait for a hot man to come around. She’s a DOer (is the spelling right?) and she stops for nothing!

It’s a must read!!! Just like the other 2 books, you’ll fall in love with them…

------------------
I don’t know how to put the SPOILER thingie here so, if you haven’t read the other books, please don’t read this part…

Stealing Allie’s line: “I almost peed myself” when I saw that the younger generation is gonna get their books! It’s like you read my mind!!! =D
Please, tell me that Zane gets his book too. He’s the kind of guy that I would like my daughter to date (well, I don’t have one now, but I’m assuming I will someday)

And Melanie?! Please, please, please, please… I know what Logan did is not good and yes, I didn’t like him very much throughout the first book and, for me, he didn’t deserve happiness. However, I felt so bad for him in this book… He knows he screwed up, he knows he lost his better part, he knows he can’t undo the things he did, but I think he deserves a second chance. He’s a good guy and you can see that his heart is in the right place. Please, consider writing his book. Despite what happened, I know that everybody in that family wants his happiness as much as I do…

Another Amazing Book by Melanie Codina. They keep getting better and better. The cast of characters are exceptional! They will do anything for one another, it is very heart warming!! They fight with one another, they bicker with one another but they always have each other's back, no matter what. When Jason meets the love of his life, Tori and her beautiful baby girl Lexi, the gang accepts her with arms wide open. When Tori's past creeps up with her, The gang will do anything to Help Jason keep her safe. Jason is an unbelievable book boyfriend. The love he gives to not only Tori but to Lexi is beyond words. The epilogue is great, I didn't want the book to end. I hope there is more with these characters, I don't want to let them go!!

This is book three in the series and is absolutely my favorite and that's really a hard choice because I LOVED the other two. I loved Jason in the first two and how involved he is in the family. I love how the main character Jason who isn't actually what you classify as a male whore. He lives his life to the fullest with work and being surrounded by friends and family.

Tori is the heroine and I just loved her for Jason. Such a strong woman who comes from a terrible relationship. Put the two together and whoa you have sparks flying!

Couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting. I would read the first two stories beforehand that way you can get familiar with the rest of the characters and wouldn't be totally lost.

I don't even know where to begin. Wow, just wow. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, so I knew I had to read Jason's story right away. So glad that I didn't wait another minute! So, good ... so amazingly, good! Love Required was HOT, sexy, angsty and emotional ... I'm talking big UGLY tears! And so beautifully written. I'm serious, this book was better than the warmest, gooiest chocolate chip cookie! I have so much more to say, but I won't because I don't want to include any spoilers ... just go read it for yourself ... Like, right now!!! If I could, this would be a 6 star read ... Thank you, Melanie Codina ... Really, thank you!

Once again, Melanie Codina did not disappoint. I loved reading this book, just like I did with the first 2 book in the series. Tori is such a strong woman for all that she has been through, and of course I loved Jason too. He is such a sweet guy and really cares for Tori. I also liked how the previous characters appeared in this book as well. I really hope that Logan gets his own happily ever after, and his own book. I know he messed things up with Gillian, and is the reason their marriage did not work out, but I still hope he finds love again. I look forward to reading more from this author :)

So this was the 3rd book in the Real Love series and by far probably my favorite book. I absolutely fell in love in Jason's character, he was strong, fiercely protective of his girls, loved passionately, attentive and of course was this big teddy bear that you just wanted to hug. I also loved Tori's character, although she had an abusive past she didn't bring her baggage in her relationship with Jason which I must say was pretty freaking awesome. I also loved the fact that this book was solely Jason and Tori's story to find happiness with just a little sprinkling of all the characters I adored from the first 2 books. This series is definitely a must read, you won't be disappointed.

As in the other two books of this series, Melanie Codina grabbed my attention from the very first page! An intense prologue sets the plot behind this emotional book. I loved Jason and Tori's story so much!!! I will admit when I began reading I figured the author would deal more on the heroines insecurities but she didn't. It was a nice change of pace to see the heroine just fall in love and not let her fears stop her.
Jason was a bit more alpha than I was expecting too so that was an added treat!
An fantastic read that you are sure to enjoy!!! I LOVED it!!!

Melanie you did it again. Jason & Tori's story is fantastic. Each book in the series just gets better & better. I absolutely love this group of friends & family and love how their stories continue in each book. Tori's past is heart wrenching and Jason is the perfect man helping Tori to see that she can be truly loved & not just a possession. Hoping Logan gets his HEA. I bet Tessa could handle him. She reminds me of his sister, Allie! Thanks Melanie for giving us a look into friendship and love and how the two can give you so much happiness.

OK where to begin, I fell in love with Melanie's writing in Love Realized with Jake and Gillian. Got deeper involved with Mike and Allie in Love Resisted. But with this one I have to say WOW! Melanie's writing is fabulous. you fall in love with her characters and wish they were a part of your life. Everyone needs an Allie or maybe a Tessa they keep you in stitches mist of the time. And who can resist a big old Alpha male softie, all the guys have this quality but Jason is the winner of the top prize.

Really love this series

Jason is the alpha male I love. he is strong and domineering but loving and protective at the same time. the strength of Tori's character is tested and then revealed with each horror she faces. the group has grown in numbers and strength over this series. I hate cheaters but there is something about Logan that I wish he could get a hea in his future.

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ⭐️

Her marriage was relatively short, but left Tori Peterson with life-long scars. Although a woman as strong as she has grown to be can live with the ones on the outside and conquers the ones on the inside. Now a single mom running a successful catering business, Tori hasn't forgotten her past, but won't let it paralyze her. And she hasn't gone blind either......because she can clearly see the gorgeous male specimen standing in front of her in the kitchen.

Although satisfied with his life, his family, his friends, Jason Michaels can't help but notice that as more in his circle are pairing up, he is missing someone to come home to himself. Not that he is looking, but the idea of permanency is no longer as scary as it once may have been. At yet another wedding, he bumps into the caterer who happens to be female, funny and gorgeous. He already knows her name is Tori, the rest he can find out.

After a purely accidental run in with the hunky wedding guest she now knows as Jason, Tori is sufficiently charmed to let him woe her. Part of his charm is his involvement with his nieces and nephews as well as his easy acceptance and handling of her little girl. It doesn't take long for her to drop all caution and allow herself to get swept off her feet.

Bit by bit Jason learns about the reasons why a beautiful woman like Tori is left alone with a baby, and with every piece of information, he becomes more protective. It doesn't take much for him to fall head over heels, not just for Tori, but for her little girl as well. And he will do anything, and everything to ensure they are kept safe when their past threatens to catch up.....

*******

Again.....Fantastic!!!

Love Melanie Codina's writing.....and absolutely adore the Alpha protective male with marshmallow insides!! Especially those with a magic hand with children..... I'm a puddle!!

Let me just say, Tori rocks! That is one kicka$$ woman, fighting back, smart thinking and fiercely protective of hers. Love it! Sure, she was beaten down when resitance was low - as low as it could probably get - but as soon as she had one little light point in her life, she clawed and crawled and beat her way up and out. Good on her!

Dunno what to say about Jason, except; where has he been all my life! A combination of everything... a little bit of bad boy, a whole lot of good man, great parent (of sorts), gentle giant, fierce protector and at times an overbearing a$$ when he wants to keep everyone safe. Surprisingly intuitive at times and certainly very tuned in to Tori (which is a dream scenario for all women in the world!!).

Best book quote EVER:
“Without sounding all philosophical, a woman can produce and sustain a life. Where all we were given was fertilizer and the overwhelming need to spread it everywhere.”

Off the charts chemistry between these two, or maybe it was just because Jason was so damn hot and I was imagining myself in Tori's shoes (or lack thereof). Regardless.....they scorch the pages!! Ms. Codina does very well in the bedroom....creating scenes varying from tender to carnal and all in deliciously explicit detail.

I so appreciate the suspense factor adding that extra dimension to a good love story. There is something about the stress and tension that brings out the sharp edges of a new romance and rubs them smooth. It forces the 'couple' to view all the little insecurities and bickerings against the 'bigger picture', of course always coming up with love as the winner.

Fabulous book, great addition to an already awesome series of standalone novels that can be read individually, but are fun to read in sequence. Most of the characters you will see in most of the books.

✨Stirring, sensuous and suspenseful, a full package!✨

I am honored to say Melanie allowed me to Beta read this book for her.

I have had a thing for Jason since he first came into the picture in Love Realized and have been waiting for his story. This was by far my favorite of all three books in this series so far. I was sucked into this story from the Prologue where we first meet Victoria and realize she does not have the loving family everyone dreams of.

We get to see the gang in action at Gillian and Jake’s wedding reception. We also get to see Allie well be Allie with one of her bets that Jason ends up on the short end of the stick of or does he? He meets Tori and I love how they seem to hit it off from the beginning she can dish it out as much as she can take it. My heart melts every time Jason interacts with Lexi the way he treats her like his daughter is absolutely heartwarming. The friendship and openness between Tori and Tessa is great and reminds me of the friendship of Gillian and Allie.

The hottest thing Jason thinks a woman could do, well I’m only thing I’m saying is I will be practicing up on it *wink* *wink*. The thing Jason does to make sure he is able to have a reason to see Tori again was something only a guy would think of, good move Jason. The things he does for Tori and Lexi makes my heart melt and the way the gang accepts and takes Tori and Lexi in is like they are long lost family members.

This is not all Happiness be prepared to have the box of tissues handy. There were tears and I’m talking ugly tears. My heart was breaking during parts of this book. I just love how everyone jumps in no questions and helps out doing what they can. I know you want to know what I’m talking about but I just can’t tell you it is too big and you will want to read it for yourself.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed and loved reading Jason’s story and did not want it to end. I love great Epilogues and this was one of the sweetest that I have read in a while. I cannot wait to see what the talented Melanie Codina has in store for me next.

My favorites:

“Allie, Sweetheart, it’s not polite to randomly stroke people’s hair when you don’t know them.” His amusement was evident in his tone. “Apparently we’ve found Allie’s kryptonite: Tori’s hair.”

“Hey, if sounding like a chick, gets me the chick, then I’m all for it.” ~ Jason

“I could get lost in your lips for hours.” ~Jason

“Hey handsome, you wanna be my date for the night?” His hand med her waist and she found herself anchored against a hard, very aroused man. He let out a long, shaky breath and with a low, husky voice he answered, “Your date? Hell, Tori, I want to be your everything tonight.”

“Because from the moment you walked into my life, everyone else disappeared. You’re the first thought I have when I wake and the last thought I have when I fall asleep. Because when something happens during my day, you’re the first person I want to share it with. Because I know without a doubt, that if you were to walk away from me, I wouldn’t survive it. I choose you, Tori.”~Jason

Across from him, he caught Tori’s eye, and she gave him a perfect smile, before she winked at him. Damn, how he loved it when she winked at him. One might argue that Tori, too had Jason wrapped around her little finger. Yeah, he was whipped for sure.

This is the 3rd book in the Real Love Series by Melanie Codina. Although you can read Love Required as a stand alone and enjoy it, I would suggest you read Love Realized and Love Resisted first because it mentions characters from the previous books (and I get annoyed when I don't know who people are, don't you?). The Real Love Series is about just that, real love. There are no billionaires with red rooms, they have children, and here's the big shocker.....most everyone acts like responsible adults and supports each other! Yes, even exes get along for the kids. Maturity, who'd have thunk it? Love Required focuses on a new character Tori and Jason, Jake's brother from the first book.

When you are introduced to Tori in the first chapter, you cannot help but be terrified for her. Tori is the victim of domestic abuse and desperately wants to escape. Although this book has more action than the other two books, it is not over the top. There are several violent scenes, and you should be aware of this if you are sensitive to those situations. However, this is not your typical Knight in shining armor saving the damsel in distress. Tori has worked hard for her independence and having her attacker in jail gives her some breathing room she hasn't felt in years.

Enter Jason, all around good guy. He is not a control freak, he's gorgeous, a family man and all around nice guy. A "hero" without major psychological issues, what a novel concept. He meets Tori and is immediately drawn to her. What makes him even more attractive, is that when he finds out Tori is a single Mom, he doesn't bat an eye. Tori is drawn to him also. Although most instant attraction is sexual in nature, something is different when these two meet. Cliche as it might sound, they are meant to be together. As they get to know each other and everything is looking rosy, Tori finds out her abuser has been released from jail.

"Hey, some guys have a thing for asses, some for breasts. Me? I love all of those, too, but damn, give me a woman with a witty sense of humor and a fun, sarcastic side, and I'm a goner." - Jason

"And you are not being pushed on me. I'm taking what I want...you. Having you close to me isn't just necessary because I don't think your place is safe. It's necessary because I'm a selfish bastard and prefer to have you here." - Jason

I found Tori very human. She's just a girl trying to survive and do the best she can to care for her daughter. She has been, literally, beaten back over the years. She lacks self confidence and is hesitant about starting a new relationship. Jason is captivated by her and her daughter and is comfortable making sure Tori knows he is here to stay. The characters from the first two books rally around Tori and her child Lexi, welcoming them into their fold. You truly feel for the characters, they are real, not overly dramatized caricatures. Jason and Tori's relationship progresses quickly with a lot of heat. No fear romance fans, there are some lusty scenes sure to have you fogging up your kindle screen.

The author Melanie Codina has two more books coming out about the younger generation of Baxter's in Assumptions and Expectations.

As with Melanie Codina's previous books, Love Realized and Love Resisted, I enjoyed reading Love Required, although unlike the other books, I'd give it more of a 3.5 star rating.

It has to do with how all three heroes are starting to feel like they are too similar in character. Don't get me wrong, I love handsome, hot heroes who are there for the women they love and do everything in their power to take care of them. I really applaud how the author's male characters set a good example of what the ideal man should be like. However, with the third book in this series, I was ready for something a little different.

To be honest, I'm not sure if the author will be continuing this series, but if she does, I'd be very interested in seeing a book with Logan, the ex-husband from her first book. Yes, he's coming from something sad that is completely of his own making, but I'd love to see if any fundamental changes happened as a result, allowing him to be a better person.

Regarding Love Required, first, I really liked the heroine. Tori was able to get away from an abusive relationship to become a strong woman and mother to her child. I admire the fact she didn't let the actions of one man blind her to the fact that not all men are abusive. I think this was partially enforced because a male neighbor helped her get away from her husband.

But by defending herself from a husband who was controlling her every move, she was able to take her power back. That power included being able to make decisions on her own in her own time. I think that was one of the reasons that she let Jason in. Granted, Jason said and did all the "right" things to reassure her, so that helped a lot.

As for Jason, I liked his character and the way he opened himself up to Tori and her daughter, Lexi. However, what I think was missing was that he needed more of his own back story, something to give him more depth and in turn, adding more depth to the feelings he has for Tori. In Melanie's first two books, Jake had a long time crush on Gillian and Mike's first wife dying gave him that connection to Allie.

In Jason and Tori's story, it felt like Jason existed simply to take care of Tori, whether it's boosting her self-worth or protecting her from her ex-husband and Tori existed simply to provide him with a family, because he felt like he was the only one in his group of friends who didn't have one.

Also, the part of the story that included her ex-husband kidnapping Tori and then "coming back from the dead" to attack her is a familiar theme that needed a bit of refreshing or a unique twist to it.

Overall, even with some of the things I mentioned above, Love Required is still a good read. The characters shared a wonderful chemistry and I enjoyed the dialogue and the humorous exchanges between Jason and Tori. I also liked how characters from her previous book showed up to support both of them in their times of need.

So far, this has been a great series and I encourage you to read Books 1 and 2.

I received a gifted copy of this book for honest review. I will definitely say an easy 5 stars for me…and I don't give those out easily.

This is book 3 of Melanie Codina's The Real Love Series which focuses on Jason Michaels. After being witness to both his brother Jake and childhood friend Allie both find a second chance at love after heartbreak and tragedy he knows it is possible but it just hasn't happened for him…Until he meets Tori. Alpha male through and through he is surprised by his dominant protective instincts wanting to claim her immediately, but there is so much more to her story. He knows she is the one, but will his happily every after come to be or will the demons from her past destroy what they could have?

OMG…I love this book so much! Being a new to me author I literally devoured all three books in this series in less than 48 hours and each one has had me laughing, crying, and cursing. I was sucked in from the get go and able to identify with each character. Melanie has created a interwoven story focusing on an amazing group of friends who are constantly there to love, tease, support, and knock the sense into each other when it is needed. The real-life situations she describes are not all the butterflies and rainbow love stories…they are about real things that can and do happen in real life to anyone and how someone moves on from those situations.

Tori is an amazingly strong character…the subject of an abusive husband who risks everything to save her unborn child. Tori is surviving on her own nicely when she meets the chivalrous, handsome, charming, and well-mannered Jason who sweeps her off her feet. Both she and her daughter are enveloped into the group and all is well…until her ugly past threatens all she and Jason have together.

Without giving away any details all I can say is go and get this series if you have not read it and prepare for a roller coaster ride of emotions. True love, the best friendships, fantastic sex, and potential disaster will grip you from the first page and make you want more with every tap of your finger. I love, love, loved this series and all of the characters Melanie has brought to life…seeing as there is still one more of the group to find love you can bet my one-clicker will be ready for another installment to a fan-freaking-tastic series!

Due to some very intense sex scenes and violence I would not recommend this book for anyone under 18…however, though quite descriptive these scenes are very tastefully written, HOT, and not offensive… at least to me ;)

ARC received for an honest review

Love Required is the 3rd book in the Real Love series, and I have to say that this series just keeps getting better and better. Each book I keep getting drawn deeper and deeper into the lives of these characters.

Tori has had a pretty horrific past couple of years, but she is such a strong woman that she is not going to let her past keep her down.

Jason, who we have met in the previous two books, Love Realized and Love Resisted, is the kind of man we all want. Strong, possessive, alpha. But with the kindest, sweetest heart you could ever imagine. He wants the kind of love that his friends have been finding, but doesn't hold out hope that it will happen any time soon.

I think we all need a Jason.

Tori is tested over and over, and I loved watching as she, her young daughter, and Jason triumph over all the dramas that are thrown at them ~ and there is a couple of doozies, I can tell you!

Love Required has it's fair share of ups and downs. What it doesn't have is one or both the MC's umming and ahhing about having a relationship. They both want it and they both go for it. Is it all easy ~ hell no, and I love it for it!

I also love that we get more of the crazy gang that is Jason's family and friends. We get more of Jake and Gillian and their boys, more of Mike and Allie. This is such a tight-knit group of family and friends, and they are there for each other through thick and thin. The make me laugh, they make my heart break and make me smile till I feel my face might break. And I love how their group is expanding with more partners and friends as the series goes on.

I also think that every girl needs and Allie or Tessa (Tori's best friend) in their lives.

And then there is Logan. Yes, he behaved despicably in the first book, and yes he deserved everything he got. But now as time has gone by, you can feel his loneliness and his heart breaking as everyone around him is finding love.

I hope that even as much as an idiot he was when we first met him, that he does eventually get his HEA.

Ms Codina has created a series filled with characters that we can all relate to one or more of. Her writing is crisp, and the story flowed well. I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

Ramona's Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Third in a series could be taken as a warning sign that the author may be running out of good ideas, but Melanie Codina totally bucked this trend with Love Required. Apart from creating a totally different storyline from the first two (aside from the requisite happily-ever-after, of course), she's introduced her strongest heroine yet in Tori - who is the best partner anyone could have picked for the wackily sweet Gigantor otherwise known as Jason.

Survivors of abuse can either implode or become terrific role models and I'm glad that Tori is among the latter. How she was able to rebuild her life after living through such a nightmare is something I pray could be real for people out there in their own personal hells. This is a beautifully tough woman that anybody of whatever gender and background could emulate. No wonder Jason fell for her after just one encounter.

Jason is a quirky kook and that makes him the perfect uncle for his mixed bag of nieces and nephews. But he can be too perfect sometimes (in my opinion) with how he talks to Tori. I don't think there's a man out there that can be that voluble and not have foot in mouth at times! Thankfully, his few flaws like being insecure, or grumpy, or impatient, make him more human. He was a character I really enjoyed in the first two books, especially in my favorite alpha male boy-band scene, and I can say he did get the story he deserved! Tori's tongue in cheek humor stands up to his outrageous teasing just fine.

But what truly makes this a new favorite for me is the mix of drama and action that I didn't get in the previous books. By the last few chapters, I was already picturing Jason as a Liam Neeson type in "Taken" because of all the intrigue. I like! Though, that fast pace also meant the movie in my head was over all too soon. Can't have it all, I guess ... Hahaha.

Ms Codina, I know the kids' books are coming next but I recall you saying Logan will have his story told, too, since everyone deserves a second chance; and, after Love Required, I now fully agree with you. So, when will you tell his tale?

Love Required is the third novel in Melanie Codina’s Real Love Series and is every bit as satisfying as the first two novels. If you haven’t read Love Realized and Love Resisted yet, you definitely want to get your hands on those before reading Love Required.

This novel is based around Jason Michaels who we’ve grown to love in this series. He’s a delectable slice of man pie – tall, loyal, and fiercely protective. Although I have loved the men from the other two novels, I have been dying for Jason’s story to release. He’s been a favorite of mine since the beginning and it was fantastic to finally get inside his head. He’s swoon-worthy to the max.

On the flipside we are introduced to Tori (Victoria) Peterson. She has finally found refuge from her dark and tainted past and is building a bright future with a clean slate. I loved her character and embraced her from the moment light was shed on her dangerous past. The chemistry between Jason and Tori is explosive. These characters are both hard headed and it makes for some playful banter and super steamy scenes.

As for the story overall, ladies get ready to be swept off your feet. Jason and Tori’s journey was wholeheartedly refreshing. It cured my mega book hangover from the angsty torture-fest I subjected myself to before diving into Love Required. I also enjoyed getting a glimpse at the lives of characters from the first two books. Something I love about all of Melanie’s books is how well rounded and complete they are. I have easily been consumed by each story and unable to put them down until the very end. They’re the perfect balance of romance, humor, and just the right amount of drama.

This series has quickly become one of my all time favorites. Each book is full of heartwarming romance and has left me feeling incredibly satisfied. If you’re looking for a quick and thoroughly enjoyable read then one-click the Real Love Series by Melanie Codina.

WOW, you know you’re going to read an AMAZING BOOK when you have to walk away to compose yourself after the prologue. I kept telling myself deep breaths Fe, deep breaths. You know this author, you know this series, deep breathes, and the author won't let you down. Melanie Codina you have managed to make me cry from anger, fear and sadness before I even got to chapter one.

After collecting myself after a heart wrenching prologue I dove back in.
I wanted to slow down and savor every word he says. I couldn't put the book down.
Jason Michaels is so amazing. He's been waiting all his life for the one and was never willing to settle for anything less than the total package. Tori is such a strong woman and I found her strength amazing. When all odds are against you what do you do? Well when you have something worth fighting for you fight back. With all your might, you fight for yourself, you fight for your future, and you fight for your destiny.

The passion between these two is amazing. They are hot and hilarious. When they are apart they’re only half of what they could be. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. They have to fight many battles to reach there HEA but wow, what a journey.
This book will emotionally take you to places your heart may never recover. Jason Michaels is perfection.

”Can you say orgasm?"

"What do you say, Cupcake? Wanna get lost in me?"

"I love you because you see me. All of me."

OMG Melanie I'm in love Jason and Tori. They are so perfect for each other. I loved their chemistry and banter.

The rest of the characters we all love are here and just as funny as ever. We get to meet another funny girl Tessa she had me cracking up.

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC in return for an honest review ,,,

WOW ,,,, how do I explain this one? ,,, WOW

I fell in love with Melanie's Real Love Series the second I began them ,,, each one is amazingly written and I LOVE this group of characters ,,, they are always there for everyone and are welcoming to newcomers of their group

This book is the third from this series and is Jason and Tori's story

We begin with a background from Tori (We already know Jason from previous books) ,,, your heart will break for this woman ,,, but the courage that seeps from her will leave you far from pity

This story is intense and you'll want to see both Tori and Lexi (Tori's daughter) showered with happiness and good fortune ,,,

In walks Jason ,,,,

A chance meeting brings these two together at Gillian's wedding not getting the chance to find out more about her Jason feels like he may have missed his chance ,,, but again they meet ,,, fate was definitely playing it's part here ,,,, but not only did his eyes catch the beauty of 1 female but 2 ,,, Lexi was only a baby but she was beautiful and instantly Jason felt a need to be near the both of them

Time passes and life is maybe running a little too smoothly ,,,,

Then BAM the ex is back and he wants what is his and he will do whatever he can to make sure he gets exactly that not caring the trail of hurt he causes

My hands were literally twitching at the end of this book will my eyes and brain to process the words as quickly as possible wanting to feed myself the words and find out what was going to happen ,,, angst? Hell yes!!!

I highly recommend this book ,,, the entire series ,,, they are amazing,,, once again a fantastic read :)

Right from the start I was deeply involved with this story. Domestic abuse is one of the topics that really makes me want to become an activist and obliterate it. As our story begins Tori is terrified and abused by her husband, Damien. She just found out she is pregnant and knows he will go ballistic if he finds out. His rule is no children... her being pregnant will be interpreted as her disobedience to his rule.

As a foil to all this violence, we are introduced to Jason Michaels and his family and friends. Believe me, you will adore Jason. He is that gentle giant, smart, handsome, level headed, and very available. He is still looking for "the one" who will make him commit his heart to forever. Tori is speechless as she becomes involved with him and his family/friends and she is swept away in their love and exuberance.

Like a slow burn, this gentle and passionate love affair evolves slowly to a brazing fire. Jason understands he must give Tori time to adjust and feel comfortably safe with him. Once Tori does, watch out! The banter between them is both funny and heartwarming. These two characters truly belong together completing each other.

But her past will not lay still and it threatens to take away all the new found happiness Tori has in her life. The suspense of the violence that is simmering as an undercurrent throughout this story will have you at the edge of your seat. When this violence explodes, you will not be able to put this book down until all is resolved.

The entire Real Love Series is highly recommend for amazing entertainment.
