Nancy Bush is a New York Times bestselling author of over forty novels, including the River Glen Series, Nowhere Series, and numerous stand alone novels. She also is the co-author of Last Breath, Last Girl Standing, and the Wicked Series, written with her sister and bestselling author Lisa Jackson, as well as the collaborative novels Sinister and Ominous, written with Lisa Jackson and Rosalind Noonan.
Nancy has called Oregon her home all of her life. She grew up in a small logging community and after graduating from high school, attended Oregon State University where she met her husband, Ken and graduated with a degree in nutrition. They married a few years after graduation and together they have one daughter. After working in banking and the travel business, with her daughter still in diapers, Nancy read an article in Time Magazine about young mothers who, once the last diaper was changed and the final bottle was washed, pulled out their typewriters and wrote romance novels for the then expanding market. Nancy convinced her sister, Lisa Jackson, that they should try their hand at writing.
After writing several successful romance novels such as Lady Sundown, Miracle Jones, Jesse’s Renegade and Scandal’s Darling and a stint writing for one of ABC’s top-rated daytime shows: All My Children, she turned her attention to writing thrillers for Kensington Publishing. Today, her books appear on The New York Times, USA Today, and Publishers Weekly national bestseller lists.
In her free time Nancy enjoys walking, working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles and hanging out with family and friends. When she and Ken aren’t visiting their daughter and grandchildren in Southern California, Nancy is busy working on her next book!
I enjoyed this book, though it did take a while for me to get into it.
It has a good storyline with some unexpected twists and turns and quite an unexpected villain revelation at the end...that I never saw coming.
There are a lot and I mean a lot of characters in the story, most of them not likeable at all – I did however, adored the little boy, Tucker! He was such a lovable character that endeared him to me so much.
Although I liked the mc’s – Callie Cantrell & West Laughlin, I did feel a lack of sexual tension between the two.....their romance seemed to drag on and on.
I good and solid suspense/mystery story with a touch of romance.
I wish to thank Net Galley and Kensington Books for providing me with a free download of "I'll Find You" by Nancy Bush. Right from the beginning I was gripped by this powerful thriller.
Callie Cantrell had been through a devastating year. A year ago, she had lost her husband, Jonathan and son, Sean in a car accident, one in which she had been the sole survivor...but she had no memory of the accident. She had been told that their car plunged off a cliff as they were driving to Mulholland. Her husband had been driving too fast. Callie ha been told there was a stolen damaged car left abandoned at the scene. Now Callie, who had lived most of her life in LA, is staying on the island of Martinique to recover from her loss. But was it an accident?
When former LA cop, West Laughlin, enters her life, looking for his young nephew, he immediately mistakes her for his brother's widow, Teresa...there was such a resemblance. West accuses Callie of holding out on him, and being "Teresa", and being responsible for his brother's death. Teresa is part of a group led by "The Messiah" who con money from men. But West soon pulls Callie into this tangled web of lies and deceit. They are linked by their separate tragedies. Callie has even become attached to Teresa's young son, Tucker. Then the other woman is found dead. There is no escaping the killer! But Who is the villain?
I can only say that this novel was packed with suspense and intrigue. The characters are both honest and believable, and the plot is well-written.The end was definitely a surprise. Definitely check out this mystery and thriller...you won't be disappointed.
I received this book from NetGalley to read and review. I am glad I did not buy it myself, as I found it difficult to read, difficult to follow and not much to my liking. First, the whole Idea of women being “handmaidens” is repulsive to me. I have only read one other book where women were handmaidens, and I disliked that about as much. I tried very hard to get into this book, and read a large portion of it but never succeeded. I think the author skipped back and forth between the Caribbean and wherever else the story was taking place. I have read all the positive reviews of this book, trying to get a feel for the same sort of “suspense” and “thriller” that everyone else writes about but never could. I have read other books by the author and really liked them, but this one just did not grab me, not to mention how confused I was and how I could not follow or understand what exactly was going on. Perhaps others will enjoy it and follow it better than I did. If you enjoy Nancy Bush’s book, try this one. You may understand it better, follow it better and like and enjoy it more than I did
I'll Find You by Nancy Bush is a perfect summer read. Callie Cantrell is staying on the island of Martinique to recover from the loss of her husband and son in a car accident. But was it an accident? Then West Laughlin mistakes her for his brother's widow, Teresa. Teresa is part of a group led by "The Messiah" who con money from men. The more Callie learns, the more their lives become entangled. Callie has even become attached to Teresa's young son. Then the other woman is found dead. Who killed her...and why? Romance is blooming amid the danger is getting closer. Nancy Bush, as usual, keeps the reader caught up in the world she has created.

I had only read from Nancy Bush one novella in the anthology Sinister. Located for one part in Martinique and the other in California, I’ll find you is a promising romantic suspense that left me unsatisfied.
One year after the car accident that killed her husband and her son, Callie Cantrell decides to go and get her strength back in Martinique, where she had gone for her honeymoon. She makes friends with a young boy, and finds herself facing West Laughlin, who came here searching for his lost nephew, and who accuses her to be another woman. Little by little she’ll discover strange hidden links between her late husband and said woman.
I thought Callie was a delicate but quite resolute heroine, who finds during the story a reason to toughen up emotionally. I liked how she tries to reason herself when she feels she clings to much to young Tucker, even if she’s realistic enough to realize it’s probably too late. West, as a good cop hero, tries at the beginning to pose as a jaded tough guy, when we discover quite early that he’s not at all. He even falls quickly for the heroine, even though she annoys him by hiding some truths. I just thought that if they give in to their attraction quite realistically, their decision takings for the future come too fast.
On the side of the secondary characters, we’re in for a treat! Between the heroes’ families and circles, and the bad guy and his handmaiden, there are a lot of names and links to remember. And to complicate all this a bit more, we go inside the thoughts of quite everybody at one point or another. You mustn’t put down the book for too long at risk of not knowing anymore who is who or did what.
I must say the novel begins in a very catchy way, and I was dying to know the rest. But after some chapters the rhythm became very slow, the subplots seemed not to progress anymore, and I lost this desire to turn the pages at full speed. Fortunately in the last chapters there’s a good acceleration and a satisfying final suspense, even if I wasn’t surprised by the final twist because I was feeling something was fishy from some time. And the way the plots finally link to each other in the end shows a real talent from the author.
To conclude this is a romantic suspense full of potentials but in which a too slack middle had me lost my attention. Too bad because it begins and finishes quite well.
I'll Find You by Nancy Bush is an intriguing suspense novel about Callie Cantrell. She has chosen to take a vacation to start over and begin her life again. Her husband and child were killed in a car crash a year prior to the vacation and she has yet to be healed from the tragedy. In Martinique Callie starts to heal, and she makes friends with a boy named Tucker, who is the same age as her son, who died in the car crash. When Callie is mistaken for Teresa, life in Martinique starts to go down hill, and things start happening that Callie can't prevent.
This novel is well written, but strange. The part which is the most disturbing is between Andre, who calls himself the Messiah and the handmaidens which he has perform sexual favors, and do the dirty work for him. This is a secondary story which allows us to get to know Teresa and how her life is carried out. I did not like this novel very much, but I do think that Nancy Bush is a talented author. I might not recommend this book, but this is not the genre that I normally read. To me it was disturbing, and scary, but isn't that what suspense novels are supposed to be. I gave this book 2 out of 5 stars because it was well written. I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.
Right from the Prologue I was gripped. Who was this strange man proclaiming to be the Messiah with his handmaidens? Andre, the Messiah, has his handmaidens carry out jobs for him scamming men for money and even killing. He doesn't share his motivations but appears to have a long term aim which he doesn't want his disposable handmaidens to know about. Callie is on holiday trying to get herself together after her husband and son died in a car accident. She has big gaps in her memory from just before the accident. West accosts her in an alley accusing her of being someone called Teresa and being involved in his brother's death. How are Andre, Callie and West linked? How is the little boy Tucker involved? He is a lovely character, so full of life. It's exciting. I was able to come to some conclusions myself but then there'd be another bit of information and I would be none the wiser again. Which character was honest, it was a tough call, they all seemed to hide information from each to some degree. The end was definitely a surprise, I had suspicions about a few of them but never guessed who would be the ring leader. Really exciting and imaginative book.
This stand alone novel was fantastic! Nancy Bush really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. My only complaint was that there was no separation between the points of view of the characters in this story. When you finished a scene with one or two characters, it switched to a view point of another's without having the proper separation to indicate to the reader that the point of view or scene was changing (the three stars after the scene for example. Other than that, Nancy Bush delivers another fantastic novel.
Loved it. This is one of those books I found myself unable to put down. The characters were all very engaging and Tucker was just adorable you had no choice but to fall in love with him. I also enjoyed how Bush did not stop the surprises until the end. I find myself enjoying her books more and more. I am not into spoilers so I will not go into the plot but believe me when I say this is a must read.
An enjoyable read with a delicious, dark and sinister edge, packed with interesting characters and a sound plot. It took a wee while to get going, and the romance could have been more involving, but overall, a good read.
(I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.)

What started out as looking like a very promising romantic suspense novel soon became a convoluted story that probably doesn't rate any better than "average."
It began well - it hooked me in super-quick (which doesn't happen a lot) but then drifted pretty quickly. There were a lot of secondary characters to remember and that made the flow of the book harder. Add to that, the subplots involving all those characters either got far too twisted for their own good, or did nothing for chapter after chapter. I am not sure if the author lost herself along the way, but that's kinda how it felt at times.
I will give marks for some interesting twists and turns, and a satisfying reveal at the end. It was just a shame that it was all sort of muddled between the great opening and the finale...
While I enjoy and read a lot of Nancy bushes books this one drove me crazy. Too many characters to try and figure out who was who. I suppose if I never put the book down it might have helped, I doubt it I would also like to know if any of these nooks are series books. I’d like to pick up with the characters I just read about. When u get attached to characters and never read about them it leaves u with a sense of loss
First half of book started slow but kept me interested. Then the second half started and it picked up speed. The more I read the more I didn't want to put it down. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was wrong. I got to the last chapters and couldn't stop. What made this book harder was different scenarios going at once. Everything became clearer and then I couldn't stop until the end. Great ending!!!
This was a very interesting read. There are several stories in one that come together perfectly. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you are proven wrong. To me, that's a sign of a good mystery. Several murders over time, in different areas that are all tied together. Greed, manipulation and a crazed "Messiah " make things difficult to find the truth. The story is well written and keeps your interest with several twists and surprises.
Good story with plenty of twists and turns. From the characters Callie Cantrell dealing with guilt over having survived an accident that took the life of her husband and son, West Laughlin a police detective, and Andre and his proclamation that he is the Messiah with his handmaidens there is plenty to keep you guessing what will come next.
Great suspense read with plenty of twists and turns. Lots of Vindictive Women and a man with a God complex that end up killing too may innocent people. Very good read!!
A who done it with more twists than a San Francisco street.
This is a really good book once you get all the characters aligned in your brain. It is well played with some twists you never see coming. I enjoyed this book. Well written, Ms. Bush
I honestly thought I had this figured out. The Villain ,I mean ,and then the big twist at the end. Keeps you always guessing and makes you wonder if this was how Manson's maidens worked for him all those years ago. Really good read.
Good Read. Really enjoyed this read, kept me guessing throughout. As always, I'm never ready for the books to end. I'd love to find a sequel in Laughlin saga.
