Ok so The Master is the third book in Kailin’s The Protegé series and you have to read the books in order: The Protegé, The Innocent and then The Master.

This is a love story but not really an ordinary one. The story really starts when Serena is a college student and is interviewing with Sebastian, a world-renowned classical composer, to become her advisor. He ends up offering her a proposition to become his lover and his protegé, but being advised by another professor.

Everything seems great right? Well Serena doesn’t have a pleasant past and The Master who turned her life around (and the one she ran from) reappears in her life.

Everyone thinks Sebastian’s life was handed to him on a silver platter but his parents don’t agree with his decision to pursue music, they snub him for it but use his name and fame to draw people in for events.

What happens when their world’s collide and now have one person in common?

This is an epic third and last book to the series. A lot of questions get answered and a lot of the unexpected happens! This storyline hooked me in right from The Protegé and I finished all three books pretty much in a day. They’re quick to read but also get you hooked to find out what happens.

This last book is a tangled web of “love” and deception, conquering and retribution but I feel the biggest victor that comes out on top is Serena. She ran from Price to do what she loves and that was to go to school for music. She stood her ground in wanting to be her own person. Her mind was back and forth on who she wanted to be with in The Master because Price really knew her body but also used that to manipulate her. Being with Sebastian was more natural, they both enjoyed the same things but is it enough for Serena? Kailin did a great job incorporating the titles for this series so in the end, you’ll find out who the true Master is and you may be surprised!

The Master has mystery and suspense but also heartbreak, hot sex and sweet moments. It’s a great ending to Sebastian and Serena’s story but I feel like there should have been more with the ending. BUT there will be a spin-off serial called Barely Legal featuring Serena’s bestie, Laura!

I rated this book 5 stars as well, the beginning of the book started off really good introducing me to Serena, who is a beautiful woman that has finally stood her ground and found her place in the world. Then there is Sebastian, he is one man trying to fight to make sure her life can continue to grow, trying to help her and love her the only way he knows how even in the beginning fighting the demons of Serena's ex lover Price...who basically molded her into who she was to a point, but she found out the real her now!!.. This book offers awesome emotions, even drama, and sizzling hot sexy scenes!!

One of my favorite quotes in the book was said by Sebastian:

"While you might see her as a sexual object, a thing you can fantasize about, to me she is a brilliant composer with a bright future, a future away from hungry eyes of men like you!"

This book blew me away even without reading The Protege and/or The Innocent. I was able to feel every emotion in the book .. Leaving you with one final quote that of course is another favorite.

"She had become the master.... "

4.5 Diamond Review by BB

The conclusion to The Protege Series was a nice Surprise. I did not expect this ending at all!. Serena has come full circle in the series and is stronger than ever. A twist I did not see coming. Sebastian and Price’s heat factor was turned up a notch in this conclusion to the series and a bit of mystery to intrigue you! Even though this is the conclusion to The Protege Series Kailin Gow and her talented Mad Mad skills has directed this series to the next spin off that is already calling my name. <3

I read all three books in the trilogy and really hoped that this final book would wrap up loose ends but just didn't do it for me. Story wasn't believable and the ending seemed rushed.
