This is a short story that bridges two of my series: Just Everyday Heroes: Day Shift (previously The Bradfords) and Just Everyday Heroes: Night Shift (previously Counting on Love). In it you will meet characters from all of those books.
I hope it’s fun and entertaining, I hope it piques your interest in one or both of the series, I hope you enjoy it. But if you haven’t read either series and feel a little lost… yeah, that makes sense.
And if you feel like the story is very short… well, you’re right.
I wrote the Bradford series (Just Right, Just Like That, Just My Type, Just For Fun and Just A Kiss) in 2010 and 2012. I was thrilled when readers fell as in love with the characters and stories as I had! So, when it came time to say goodbye to that group, I balked. And came up with an idea for a spin-off series.
The new group, now known as the Dixons, appear in my Counting On Love series (She’s the One, It Takes Two, Best of Three, Going for Four and Up by Five). They know and interact with the Bradford gang and some of the characters from the Bradfords show up in the Counting on Love books. It’s been so fun to revisit old friends while making new ones and readers have told me over and over how much they’ve enjoyed the ties between the two series.
So, I thought that it might be fun (and maybe even helpful) to explain how the two series connect. And the seed for Just Count on Me, a short story bridging the two series, was planted.
Again, it is a short story. It doesn’t have a distinct conclusion. There are a lot of people introduced in not-many pages and it could be easy to get lost. And did I mention, it’s short?
With all of that said, enjoy!
This is for my fans! I love writing these characters over and over because you love these characters time and time again!
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over sixty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
Highly entertaining and fun short but sexy romance filled with friends that are family and family that is bounded beyond blood... Loved getting to know the new night shift crew.
After reading this short prequel story, Just Count On Me by Erin Nicholas, I must read all the books in The Bradford and Counting On Love series. I loved the way the author incorporated the characters from both series into this prequel and the small glimpses I saw of all the characters from these two series have whetted my appetite for so much more. They seem like such fun, lovable people and I want to read their love story. I especially liked Conner and found myself chuckling at his shenanigans. I'm looking forward to diving into these books as soon as possible and I hope Conner will have his own story. I would love to meet the woman that wins his heart.
This is a short novella that perfectly bridges Erin's Bradford Series with her newest Counting On Love Series. I am a huge fan of Erin’s books and was honestly really sad to let go of the characters in The Bradford Series. Thankfully we have not had to let go of them completely. Just Count on Me: Counting on Love Prequel is perfect as it allows us to meet the new characters and catch up with the ones we fell in love with from The Bradford’s. Conner is a tremendous flirt and I can’t wait to see the trouble his sisters and his best friends give him in the Counting On Love series. This is a don’t miss quick read with a fantastic shower scene!
I love all Erin's books, but this one takes the cake. It merges two of my favorite series and introduces all the new men as well as revisit the first ones. This short tie-in has it all: love, action, drama, alpha males showing their feathers so to speak and good old fashioned ribbing. Plus it just reinforces my Mac Gordon love! Holy moly that man is amazing!
Prequel book in the Counting On series. This is a nice, simple, feel good series with plenty of heat between the characters. The stories focus on crews of paramedics that work out of a hospital. The technical aspects of the stories are pretty spot on. I work in the field and I was impressed.
This is part if a series. I would recommend not just starting with the first book in the series but reading the Bradford series first. That will give you a lot of background that will make the stories flow better.
I read this short story as a Bonus novella at the end of 'Just a Kiss' the last book of 'Day Shift'.
In this novella we will see the interaction of the two shifts (two parts) of these wonderful men of 'Just Everyday Heroes', let's get to know a little about Conner Dixon and his team and his sisters in the next part of this big series 'Just Everyday Heroes'.
This book was created by the wonderful author who answered her readers requests. She brought together in this short and sweet book The Bradford's & The Dixon's. This combines the series The Bradford's & Counting On Love.
This quick book is an introduction to where the Dixon family begins telling their tales. We leave off from where The Bradford's were here. If you are reading both series I caution you to read in order so you can give yourself the heat and excitement without spoilers.

Short and sweet and packed full of action. So in love with this book! Wish it were longer but thankful for what it was. The characters show so much love and dedication to each other and it makes for a great story!
A very fun novella! The fire was dramatic but I liked the action and it gave us a way to check-in on all of the Bradfords and introduce Connor and his crew. Looking forward to the next series!
It was sad when Erin Nicholas's Bradford series ended but I knew that the Counting on Love series would start a new journey that I would love equally. Just Count on Me is a wonderful transition from the Bradfords to the Dixons. I love the fact that Erin Nicholas took the time to write this wonderful short story to introduce the Counting on Love series. This is a must read for all for all Bradford fans!
Erin Nicholas is my favorite romance writer. She has a voice that I find smooth and comfortable. Her characters are witty, sexy, and fun. I love the humor and banter that is found in both series.
This short story included characters from the Bradford series and introduced new characters I would meet in the Counting on Love series. This is a prequel to the Counting on Love series, but best read after the Bradford series.
I am a huge Erin Nicholas fan. I have read all of her books including the Bradfords series and loved every one of them. Now she has a new series available, and we will get to fall in love with the Dixon family in the Counting on Love series. If you enjoyed reading about the Bradford family you can catch up on them and be introduced to another team of paramedics that work at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Since this is a short story that bridges the Bradfords and the Dixons together I recommend that you read the Bradford stories first. Then make sure to grab the Counting on Love series because you will want to know every one of them as well, you will not be disappointed.
If you're like me, and the ending of the Bradford series was a bitersweet moment, you're in luck. Nicholas has released a new short story to introduce us to the new characters in her Counting on Love series while giving us one more glimpse of those Bradford characters we all know and love.
With her usual mastery, Nicholas tells a story that captivates readers and leaves us hungry for more while begging one important question: Where can we all find a man like the ones she writes about?
Yes.....I love Erin Nicholas. :) So, of course I loved this little bridge book that connected the two different series. If you haven't read the Bradford series, do so before reading this one. However, read Just Count On Me before you start the Counting on Love series! This was awesome. I loved catching up with all my favorites from the Bradford's....and I learned a lot of names and about the connections to all the Dixon's. In this short prequel, you'll get drama, love, hotness and swoon-worthy moments. How can you go wrong!?
What a great book to bridge the gap between one series to the next related one. Sara is a very lucky lady! Mac is to die for! Connor is hilariously charming and I can't wait for his story to be told. All the men and women are fantastic and I'm looking forward to this new series! Thank you Erin Nicholas for a look at the past series and the future one.
This is the perfect bridge book from the Bradfords to her new series Counting on Love. Meet the Dixon's a.d catch up on the Bradfords. A fun short sexy read!!
All good things must come to an end. Or so they say! I love that Ms. Nicholas gives us moments with the guys we fell for in the Bradford series in the new series Counting On Love.
Oh how I wish I knew the Bradford's came before the Dixon's. I hate when I read the spinoff first without realizing. Loved the Dixon's and I know I'll enjoy the Bradford's just as much.
This was a really good short story. You get to see the Bradford's again and you meet the Dixon's. There was a lot happening in this short story. Can't wait to read more about the Dixons!
