You get what you pay for; as a mail-fraud investigator, Casey Bennett had learned how far from true that adage was. But an investigation into a suspect coin company taught her the truth of another: good things come when you least expect them. Even the shadow of suspicion hanging over Simon Ashford couldn't hide the truth: this was one man in a million. Suddenly Casey's quest took on a very personal note. She had to clear Simon's name, because she could never live without his love.
This was not a "fun" read, it was not something that kept me turning pages but it was a well written book. The author put together a bunch of circumstantial evidence and determined that USS Scorpion was sunk by a torpedo fired by a USSR submarine. The thing that amazed me was that this incident was covered up and not used as an excuse for escalating the cold war or the Viet Nam war or military spending. This incident could have been used for political gain and instead it was used to unite the Navies of the US and the USSR as soldiers protecting their nations.
