Hi, Diane Miller here again, remember when I was telling you about my ex-boyfriend Chris Grover and what a lying, cheating, baby-making, scumbag he was? Yeah, about that…

Well, long story short, Chris is innocent. Yeah, color me embarrassed, although all signs had pointed to him taking a ride on the town merry-go-round, Janice, he actually hadn’t. Which means the baby isn’t his. Although, he is the uncle…

Yeah, Bo Grover, older brother to Chris, Marine and war hero is also a father. He and Janice had had one night of drunken passion and produced the baby, which Janice tried to pin on Chris. Bo let her know in no uncertain terms if she said anything about the baby being his he’d make her sorry when she told him about it. Bo didn’t believe her and you can’t really blame him because the girl did get around.

Anyway, all this came to light when Chris after a year of letting Janice shine him on about a paternity test, held her feet to the fire and they got tested. He passed but his brother didn’t, I guess you could say, so all the skeletons came rattling out of the closet.

Chris rushed over to my house to give me the happy news, right in time to find me in the process of moving to Dallas with my olive-skinned, former man-whore, new boyfriend Gabe.

So here we sit, Chris is exonerated, Bo is guilty, Charlise Thompson, my best friend and Bo’s girlfriend is crushed, Janice is scared out of her mind wondering how Bo is going to make her pay for letting the cat out of the bag, I am confused as to what this all means. I mean, do I tell Chris ‘too bad, so sad, sucks to be you’ when he hadn’t actually done anything? And if not, where does that leave Gabe and I?

All I do know, is there will be a lot more drama before this is finished and more than one heart is going to end up broken. Ah well, just another pleasant time in Grover’s Corner. Join me and I’ll tell you all about it.

I wanted to read another Joyia Marie book as I enjoyed Tree Climbing for Beginners, but this wasn’t just a DNF but nauseating, and actually made me sick to my stomach and I teared up at the level of debasement that occurred.

I read the first So Sorry and wanted to see where the romance and grovel would go, but the secondary pair overwhelmed the story. A very, very rare occasion where I felt sympathy and even horror for how the skanky OW was treated.

Threats, control, gross humiliation, “corporal” punishment, and sexual abuse to teach her how to be the right kind of wife isn’t romantic or sexy. Bo doesn't beat her, isn't giving her a sexy spanking, but is instilling the parameters of the right kind of wife with "domestic discipline". Turns out domestic discipline is a thing and I am even more nauseated than before.

Yes, she’s an awful woman to manipulate the men, but, hey, no one put a gun to his head to have sex with her to get back at his girlfriend for wanting him to announce their commitment. And if I read one more time how unreasonable his ex girlfriend was to get upset about the sex when it was just the one time I was going to scream.

No one else is very likeable either. His girlfriend has the hots for her BF's new boyfriend so guess what goes around comes around.

So Sorry is a great follow up to it's predecessor Sorry.

It answers the nagging cliff hanging questions we were left with, and provides a fresh crop, which will lead us to the concluding volume of this trilogy, Unapologetic.

There are some surprises in So Sorry I didn't see coming, which made for well constructed plot points.

New characters are added to the mix - Aurora, Diane's friend who is a super model, but doesn't wear the super ego to go with it, and we get to know Nancy, one of Gabe's former "hoochies" a little better. She pulls the stunt of all stunts towards the end of the book.
Chris, well...I can't say a lot for Chris, as it is pointed out, he waited an entire YEAR to get off his duff and do much about trying to repair his reputation. Yes, he's exonerated in this volume and no, the baby isn't his. But a year has gone by in the meantime, and Diane has changed and now her heart is firmly in Gabe's camp.
Charlise, well, I won't tell you about how things end up for her. Don't want to spoil too much!
And what of Janice who set up all the drama in the first place? Let's suffice it to say she gets way more than she bargained for.

This is the second New Adult novel I've read and I found it quite enjoyable.
I look forward to seeing how Marie ties up all the loose ends in Unapologetic.

Karma is crazy

This is an interesting trilogy. I am intrigued, but I wish these books focused on one couple. There are too many POVs. It’s hard to follow, but I will continue because why not. I got nothing else to do today.
