I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Wrapped in tragedy and dark topics, the author offers such poignant, heartfelt reflections. The topics of love, loss, and pain are written spectacularly. Very well written.

No longer could I continue,
The pain spilling out,
From my mind split in two,
Pulled apart by the crowd,
Why would I resist,
This start to my end?
(From 'Pulled Apart')

PJ Bayliss writes about being split in two. He literally lives it. He has two identities. I don't know what he does for his day job but I'm so glad he writes at night. His poems push and pull at you as he holds darkness as his prisoner. He tortures it for torturing him. 'I embrace her flaming shoulder, As my soul pours her desert dry', his words push the limits of your emotions. This writer feels deeply and it spills out onto the page with such grueling honesty that it demands your respect. I read this book several times and have no doubt, I will come back to it many more times. PJ's writing is truly touching and inspiring if you are brave enough to go to the edge with him. I'm there with you, man.

Sensing my dark presence,
Resting in my shadow,
Bound tight in acceptance,
I approach you ...from below.
(From 'One')

...Bring it on.
