Mary Campisi is the author of over 40 emotion-packed novels that center around hope, redemption, and second chances.

Mary should have known she'd become a writer when at age thirteen she began changing the ending to all the books she read. It took several years and a number of jobs, including registered nurse, receptionist in a swanky hair salon, accounts payable clerk, and practice manager in an OB/GYN office, for her to rediscover writing. Enter a mouse-less computer, a floppy disk, and a dream large enough to fill a zip drive. The rest of the story lives on in every book she writes.

When she's not working on her craft or following the lives of five adult children, Mary's digging in the dirt with her flowers and herbs, cooking, reading, walking her rescue lab, Henry, or, on the perfect day, riding off into the sunset with her very own hero/husband on his Ultra Limited aka Harley.

I really liked this book. Great plot, a hero and heroine with chemistry and exciting secondary characters.

This was like having a great piece of cake with your regular afternoon coffee. A delightful addition to the routine.

I am looking into Mary Campisi to see, 1. if Roxie/Rhyder have a story out and 2. what else she has written.

Fun quick read that provided necessary levity....

I was having a tough time finding a book to hold my.attention, but this one did it very well. The story was light and delightful with engaging characters. This was my second book by this author and it won't be my last.

How I got this book: NetGalley

This was a great short, new read from Carina Press, who continues putting out some incredible stories. Max is working on a huge business deal that can either make or break him. He is forced to deal with Grayson who makes him a deal: He will get his business deal, if he gets Grayson's daughter pregnant. As much as Max wants to do anything for his business deal, he doesn't know that he is ready to knock some woman up.

C.C. has realized that she might not be destined for love, but she is still determined to have the child that she wants more than anything. When she meets a handsome man on the airplane, she puts him through her ridiculous cookie test, and when he passes that with flying colors, her hope soars, but when she realizes they work in the same field, she knows it would never work.

When Max and C.C. are forced to work together day in and day out, she is leery with his interest in her, and Max feels as if his heart is starting to get involved when he really doesn't want it to. As the two get closer and closer together, C.C. begins to feel as if she can begin to trust Max, and that he might be someone worth getting her heart involved with. But when the details of his bet with her father come out, she puts a plan into action to pay Max back.

The characters in this story were great, with C.C being a bit guarded (who can blame her given her previous experiences?) but still someone who isn’t completely jaded with life, and still holds out hope that one day her prince charming will ride in on his white horse and sweep her off her feet. I love that about her.

Likewise, while Max starts the story mostly disillusioned, he learns that just because he lived through tragedy in his past, doesn’t mean it is going to rule his future. One of my favorite things to see in a romance book in a male hero who has a totally macho attitude, but can still learn to show his feelings and learn from the women they love. It’s great, and Max does it well.

The supporting characters Roxie and Rhyder, C.C. and Max’s best friends are a hoot as well. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed two bickering characters as much as those two, especially while Rhyder was busy trying to convince Roxie to get an introduction to her reclusive “cousin” Roberta.

Typically I’m not a huge fan of stories that use pregnancy or children to tie together a relationship, because I think it is somewhat of an easy out. However, I like the fact that while Max was supposed to be working on knocking C.C. up, he kept making excuses to actually do so. I liked that Campisi gave Max and C.C. a chance to actually make a commitment to each other, before making one to a family.

I thought this was a great little short read. It was sweet and had a great little HEA. Although it isn’t a full length novel, it was a great read none the less.

All in all I give The Sweetest Deal 4 out of 5 crazy business deals.

The Sweetest Deal is a story that combines business and pleasure when Max agrees to a deal that may cost him his job as well as his heart. Max Jernigan believes in his project and wants to see it developed but the only way it’s going to happen is if he agrees to Grayson’s terms.

CC Crowell wants more than anything to prove to her father that she can handle the job, especially after what happened two years ago. She is no longer the carefree girl she was; now she is all business and has sworn off men.

Both Max and CC have a lot to learn about themselves. They have both have suffered heartaches in the past that has drawn them closer. Max sees the vibrant, beautiful woman under CC’s stiff exterior and wants to bring it out. She is the first woman that he has enjoyed being with in a long time. She is smart and funny and everything he never knew he wanted in a woman.

The more time CC spends the Max the more beautiful and daring he makes her feel. She begins to see beneath his pretty boy image to the man underneath. She has sworn off men but Max passed her cookie test and makes her want things she thought were out of her reach.

The connection between Max and CC is there from the beginning. I loved seeing the characters grow and change before your very eyes. The story also has great secondary characters. I hope we see a future story between Roxie and Ryder they provided a lot of comic relief in this story. I loved the ending and was pulling for Max and CC to make it work from the beginning.

Overall I enjoyed The Sweetest Deal and give it 4 flaming hearts.

CC and Max had me rooting for them from the beginning, even knowing that misunderstanding and their mutual fear of commitment would keep them apart. While this story had several common plot premises(the business deal, younger stepmother-to-be...) they were refreshing, with rich characters such as Catherine's stepmama Candy. I could feel CC's concern over her professional and personal relationship with her father, her attempts at fitting into a man's world and her loss of self after being so cheated in her previous romantic entanglement with David. I appreciated that the secondary characters of Rhyder and Roxie were well fleshed out, and their secondary romance didn't detract from CC and Max. Instead of pulling me away from CC and Max, it only served to add depth to their courtship and sexual attraction. A quick read, and an author I look forward to reading again.

Triple Chocolate Cookies and All!

A truly light-hearted romance from Mary Campisi that puts a smile on your face right from the start!

Who can resist a handsome hero and a bespectacled heroine sitting together on a plane? Well, until she aggravates him into eating many more triple chocolate cookies than he should, and he ends up in the lavatory, that is.

And who can resist an interfering father who wants a grandchild more than anything in the world? So, the cantankerous old man offers the hero a very odd codicil to their business deal?

Add to that that the interfering father is engaged to the handsome hero’s ex-wife who is a she-devil in stilettoes and you have The Sweetest Deal.

The romance between Ian and C.C. is so charming, you will fall in love with them immediately. I can’t wait for the sequel with the best friends, Rhyder and Roxie!

I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed it while reading (which is very important), but thinking about it for the review there were some things I realized I didn’t like. The thing I think bothered me the most was Max’s past is mentioned in a round-about way, but he never discussed things with C.C. They mainly have sex and she tells him things about her past. Also, Max changes his opinion on marriage and love so quickly that it is unbelievable. He goes from never wanting to be married to head-over-heels in love in the span of a few weeks. The ending was also very abrupt. But, with all those negatives I still enjoyed the book while I was reading it and would like to read more by this author.

Mary Campisi is one of my favorite writers & I liked The Sweetest Deal. The story of Ian & C.C. was a good story. Usually books about propositions & babies are not my idea of a good read. I found this book better than other books with the same premise. For me the best part of this book is C.C. I really like this character & love her & Ian together.

I will read the rest of the Best Intentions Books. Thanks Mary for giving me another series to add to my collection.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I think it's great. Simple yet, the story is predictable. The romance part is really interesting because of how these two met. Knowing that you're perfect for each other but then it's ruined simply because of the underlying fact on how and why they crossed paths again.

all in all it's very sweet and very chic. :)
i love it!

The sweetest deal by Mary Campisi is book 1 in the Best Intentions series..: I really enjoyed reading this book, at first I have to admit I didn’t like Ian ( don’t want to say why and spoil it) Charlotte seemed a hard nosed person but that’s due to heartbreak, the more you read you find out she’s not at all.. great book, can’t wait to read book 2 the perfect deal

The story was nice and romantic. However, everything happened so fast and I didn't like how fast it went. It's not that I didn't enjoy reading it but it's not the kind of book that sticks with you even a week after reading it. Overall though it was an "okay" book for me.

This book was good. It is a short story that did not take long to read. Good characters but some of the issues needed to be played out a little more. I actually liked the friend Roxie the best!

It was short but a real cute story. I actually really liked it and the characters, I wish there was more so they could tie up some loose ends. Other than that, the book was rockin'.
