“Don’t you see, Willow? Only we’re allowed to hurt you.”

Pearce. Ainsley. The Winston brothers run this remote town.

I’m their prey, and they’ll do anything to destroy me.

If I want to survive, I’ll need to play their game.

-

Moving to Alaska was supposed to offer a fresh start after losing my mom. Instead, it thrust me into the clutches of the Winston brothers – Pearce and Ainsley. The town's notorious "fixers" rule with an iron fist, their dark deeds concealed by their influential father’s legacy.

In this isolated, icy world, I've become their obsession. Their cruel games and relentless torment isolate me, pushing me to the brink. But beneath their brutality, a twisted desire simmers. They claim me as their own, blurring the lines between love and possession.

Can I survive their twisted game, or will I succumb to the darkness that binds us?

3.5 stars, this authors needs to find a good editor, a lot of errors..

This was kind of messy, the storyline was good but the execution needed more work, a lot of scenes ended too abruptly which left you hanging and confused as to where the author was trying to lead you which took away my connection with the characters, if the author took the time to go through this throughly it would’ve made for a better reading experience, so many words were misplaced making this more of a puzzle than a book which is a shame because it had a lot of potential.

Why choose/ dark romance/ small town/ bully romance/ touch her and die/ MFM

Trigger warning: murder/ kidnapping/ dubcon/ neglectful parenting/ death of a loved one/ emotional abuse

I had high hopes for this book but I feel like I finished this book out of spite. The MMCs are entitled psychopaths but and not even in an endearing way. They’re manipulative and violent and I really didn’t appreciate them calling the FMC a “bitch” and an “idiot”. In their defense, the FMC did display some dumb bitch tendencies, HOWEVER, I was put off but them calling her names.

She also fell victim to the ol’ traitorous vagina. She didn’t want to want the dumpster fire MMCs but alas, she couldn’t help her body’s reaction to them…(insert eye roll). This book did contain dubcon which can be tricky to navigate and I personally don’t think this was successful.

If you liked this book, fantastic. I love that for you. It just wasn’t for me unfortunately. All of the main characters sucked and the storyline was virtually nonexistent in my opinion.

Also, I’m not sure which one the MMCs needed more: a therapist or a spot on the sex offender registry list.

“Kings of Decay,” by Ariel London

I liked this book. I liked the bully, mafia stepbrother MMC’s. I liked the FMC, she was all over the place with her emotions; one moment she is quiet even though she’s mad and the next she throws a tantrum, which I relate with and shows how long these emotional roller coasters have been happening on the inside of her and no one is listening. Her dad is a total jerk, who makes their daughter walk home in Alaska in autumn when she just moved there? Who leaves their daughter at home alone when a winter storm is coming? I liked the bad-guy brothers’ way more than her absent father, ugh. My only problem with the book is that it was way too short, I wanted more right away, and I think because the book is under 200 pages, then book 1 and 2 should have been combined. 4 out of 5 stars.

Thank you for the ARC, Booksprout.

This was such a good book I couldn't put this book down, the story was written well and the characters were mesmerising. The small town in Alaska, is ruled by a prominent family the Winston's and book one was about Ainsley and Pearce and their obsessions Willow with dark desires, and Fantasies to play out. This was a book of steamy and spicy romance.

I dnf’d this at 32%. The fmc and her dad move to Alaska. Both are still struggling after the death of her mom about a year or two prior. She ends up working at a bar and meets the infamous brothers that everyone knows not to mess with. For whatever reason she offends them and they decide to mess with her.

I picked this up liking the premise: a move to an Alaskan small town, mysterious guys…but tbh it read really juvenile. I couldn’t be convinced that they were justified in their behavior AT ALL.

Willows move go Alaska was meant to be a fresh start only she ends up in the sights of the Winston brothers Ainslely and Pearce, and they don't give up on what they want. Well written engaging fast paced MFM, can't wait for book 2.

Kings Of Decay is book 1 in The Winston Brothers duet and is my first read by this author. This story is one big rollercoaster of a ride. Willow and her stepbrothers, Ainsley and Pearce take us an emotional, intense, gritty journey. I completely enjoyed their story and definitely recommend this bully, stepbrothers read.

Fresh start, or maybe not. Willow's move should have been a fresh start and it turns out to be anything but. This is a stepbrothers bully romance and boy was it fantastic. Ainsley and Pearce are quite the characters and they know exactly what they want. Intense and I cannot wait for the second book.

A great story, with great characters, i admit to begin with i wasn't sure i would like the brothers but their individual personalities grew on me as the plot progressed. Plenty of steam with two obsessed brothers and a heroine who can stand her ground! Emotion overload at times - but a great read, cant wait for book two!

This book took me on a wild ride. It was very fast paced and a good read. At first I didn’t like Pearce or Ainsley and I thought they were ignorant dicks, but the more I read I fell in love with them. They turned out to be dicks still but they had a heart and a bit of a soft spot for willow. I loved willow and I felt so bad for her with the way her dad treated her and was never there. He was but not like he should’ve been. All together tho it was a good book. I enjoyed it. 5/5🌟

Dark romance

They moved to Alaska to start fresh after the death of her mother.
Until she met the brothers she thought she would never feel alive and safe again, although they are dangerous their darkness calls to her.

The plot was good but very drawn out. The political aspect seemed kind of random. I felt like the fmc was very wishy washy and dumb. The mmc were both very hot and the spice was good just a bit too slow burn for me
