Must read for fans of Freida McFadden and Gillian Flynn.
This book was SO good. I received an ARC from the author (thank you so much!) yesterday. I started the book yesterday and finished it in one day. I was HOOKED!!
The twists and turns kept me on my toes and kept me reading. I could not put it down. Jessie Rose is an amazing author and I will be on the look out for more of her books!
I really enjoyed this book. It gave me Freida McFadden vibes 😉 it was a definite who done it and why. It follows the story of the main characters (Indy, her mom- Beth, Stella- the reporter, and Jacob) to decide who was the killer and why they killed. It was a real easy read and very entertaining. If you are interested in this type of book, then give this one a try. Congratulations Jessie on a wonderful, entertaining book 🥳 Thank you for allowing me to read your book. Can’t wait to read more of your work ☺️❤️
I thought I had this book all figured out when the first twist was revealed. I absolutely did not. This story is laid out in a way that makes you feel like you know what's going on, and then shows you that you don't know anything. The characters are unhinged, the story goes in unexpected directions, and the layers are woven together perfectly. It's twisty, dark, shocking, and wonderfully written.
I was excited to be an ARC reader for this, and now I'm excited to watch it climb the charts. If this isn't a bestseller for Jessie Rose, then the critics are nuts. It was a page turner and I had to force myself to stop reading. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it. I love to read about a strong woman and this book has 2! Now I wish I had named one of my girls "Indiana" Be sure to pick it up when you have time to read it all at once. GO READ THIS NOW!
Jessie Rose has done a fantastic job sharing a brilliantly written story with us! I couldn’t stop reading once I started, and finished this fantastic book all at once! What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!
We follow the story of Indiana as her world crumbles around her, following the revelation to the world that her high school sweetheart was arrested for being a serial killer. Secrets from her past explode around her, tearing everything she’s ever known apart. What a bumpy ride we follow along on!
The twists and turns are wild, and I truly didn’t expect the ending. Easily a five ⭐️ read, and I highly recommend!
I love love loved the way you see the trauma from all the characters and how that affected them to form this intense story. The way things were all interconnected and how each person fit into the story line yet you don’t even fully understand the whole story until the end. This was wicked. Loved every page!! Only complaint is that I wish I could have known some of the characters a little longer… maybe we’ll get another book about them??😉😉😉
4.5 ⭐️ Rose comes in hot with this one and keeps the twists coming until the very end. I read this book in one day, a quick, easy, and enjoyable read if you are a fan of the genre. This one does not start slow, there is a killer and a story right from the first chapter. Everything is not what it seems though. Some twists you get once there's a small bit of eluding, others I did not see coming. This was my first ARC read, and I would definitely recommend it!
This is one of those books that I couldn’t put down. It was a very unique plot that is different from other psychological thrillers. I enjoyed the interweaving of mystery, police, work, and family issues that resonated with me. I look forward to reading more of this authors work.
Jessie Rose!! This book had me shooketh. The way these reveals were popping up 👀. I literally could not put this down. When I wasn’t reading this book, I was working or sleeping. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a good psychological thriller. I was locked in from beginning to end. The ending! I wasn’t expecting that either. What a book ride.
This book had me hooked from page one. As soon as I was introduced to Indy and then learning of Jacob Ballantine's arrest from page one, I knew this book from Jessie was going to have me on the edge of my seat until I find out what, who, where and how. And oh how we did!!
The character build is very well done with each chapter being a POV from someone relevant to that moment in the storyline. It was easy to follow the Multi POV this way and we were able to learn each characters mind and reasoning as the book progresses without spoiling any detail or dragging you along for an unnecessary ride.
This Rollercoaster is worth the ride, don't hesitate!
We all love a good plot twist right? How about more than one you never knew was possible? Least Likely Suspect will have you second guessing everything you thought you knew as you delve into each chapter.
The storyline was easy to follow and extremely well plotted out, no plot holes or missed character build up.
This captivating Novel digs deep into traumatic pasts and the affects a persons upbringing has by making life altering decisions that will either make or break you.
Personal Overview:
We follow Indiana Sebring on this wild realization journey that her ex Fiancé, who has been accused of being a serial killer has alot more secrets than she could have ever imagined possible. Once she learns the truth and who are a part of these secrets and lies and their role in them, Indiana goes on a mission to find out the truth, the real truth, once and for all.
Once we meet Stella Foxworth and Beth Sebring, the whole game changes and the truth starts unraveling quicker than anyone imagined, and not in a good way!
Beth Sebring, Indiana's mom, is a recluse who only exits her house if she absolutely has to. Once the news breaks of Jacob Ballantine's arrest, Mrs Sebring grabs her service dog, Bo, and gets on the next train to see Indiana in person to tell her this heavy secret she has been carrying with her for more than a decade.
Will Indiana make the right choices or will she be like her mom and hide away from the truth and the destruction that it comes with?
This dark Psychological Thriller will have you second guessing everything you knew about Love, Family and the dangers of keeping dark secrets.
Are you brave enough to unravel this mystery? If you answer yes, then why aren't you reading this book yet?!
This is my first read by Jessie Rose. I loved it! This psychological thriller took me in so many directions. One man caught and suspected of being a serial killer and the 3 very different women and their decisions on how to deal with their individual pasts with him.
I enjoyed that this was written in the style of a thriller and not a police procedural. FBI interviews and evidence collecting would have just weighed the story down. With this novel, the author got straight to it and never let up.
Then there's the ending. I don't want to give anything away, but I was extremely pleased. The author gave us one last twist!
The author delivered a twisty, intense, wicked psychological thriller, and I devoured in a day. It's an unputdownable story with unexpected turns that ends with a surprising ending. Highly recommend. Do not miss all the ingredients of an intriguing thriller filled with secrets, serial killer, and suspense.
What would you do if you were at work and you started getting messages telling you your ex, the love of your life, was arrested for being a serial killer? The icing on the cake?? The women he killed looked like you!
Told in different points of view, this book will keep you guessing and at the edge of your seat!! Things start getting crazy and when the truth comes out, it's a wild ride!!
This is exactly the kind of thriller I enjoy!! Definitely a 5 ⭐️ read for me!
Holy....crap. This book is just a whole lot of twisted, jacked up, wild ride, craziness that I am HERE FOR!!! This book has it all twists and turns with surprises that leave you saying WTF out loud. I don't think my husband has been more interested in my facial expressions than while I read this book! If you need a page turner that makes you wide mouth open....you found it. This is a must-read for the dark and twisted.
Indy once dated a man who may be a serial killer. Stella is a reporter who wants you to tell his story but first she needs to figure out just what that is. When these ladies come together things will happen! Very good read. Kept me guessing and riveted to the book. I recommend this book!
Not my typical read as I dont usually read a lot of books with sexual content but the twists were entertaining and had me going through for a wild ride. I did not see the ending coming. My heart was so heavy for Indy
It's 3:48 in the morning and I could not stop reading this book till I finished! Wow!! The writing was excellent and the characters were so well developed I felt like I was right there in the middle of it all and not in my home. Ms Rose hit the ground running and never stopped. She took me thru so many twists and turns then that I was stunned on the ending. I didn't see that coming. I highly recommend this book.
ISo at first all the povs were overwhelming. I got sucked into it pretty quickly and that needed to know what happened asap! And I must say ending was so great! Definitely looking forward to checking out more Jessie rose books.
This was an excellent storyline and kept me in suspense the whole time! The twists just keep coming with this book, and it's so good! I couldn't put it down! I loved this book and would recommend it to my friends!
Wow, this was an incredible book and Jessie Rose did not disappoint. The story was so complex and intricately woven, the characters and their lives intertwining in twisted and unsuspecting ways. Least Likely Suspect shows the effect of trauma on different people and how it manifests itself in motives, lives, and personalities.
There was twist after twist but it was done in such a great way that wasn’t outlandish and from out of left field. There were multiple POVS which I usually love, but this one included quite a few so it was confusing at first but after a few chapters, it was easier to keep track of.
Do yourself a favor and read this book now! It is very dark however, so please be aware of the TWs before diving in.
Thank you for my arc, Jessie Rose! Least Likely Suspect is out on KU now.
This book is the definition of a psychological thriller! It is dark, disturbing, and goes to those bad places we all like to explore. The story is told from the perspectives of the killer, the one that got away, the girlfriend, and a mother. Really, they are all victims in this book. Having the multiple perspectives does really round out the story, even though you will question some of their stories. No one reveals anything too early, so the suspense is definitely drawn out. When things finally come together it’s shocking. I absolutely loved this thriller. It is my level of dark, twisty and upsetting. There is a trigger warning to watch out for at the beginning, but none of them are super graphic. The writer goes to those sick places without ever really getting gory or graphic. You most definitely know what happened, but you’re not in the thick of it. I think that was tasteful, since most of the story does revolve around rape.
Indy learns her ex-boyfriend, Jacob, has been arrested and is the prime suspect in a string of murders. If this isn’t shocking enough, all the victims look like her. Indy tries to protect her recluse mother from the media frenzy that is sure to ensue but ends up uncovering the unbelievable truth that will destroy her world.
Stella is a news reporter working for her big break. As she reports on Jacob’s arrest, she realizes that she is one of his victims that got away. In her quest for stardom and revenge, Stella puts herself in extreme danger as she baits Jacob to expose the truth.
This is one of the best psychological thrillers I have ever read. Each chapter became darker and more devastating as I read. The intense family drama was absolutely appalling and heartbreaking. As a new secret was revealed, I was shocked and then impressed by the author’s ingenious way of tying it all together. But unbeknownst to me, there would be ten more layers to peel back before I learned the depth of the betrayal and lies. The ending was perfect and put a huge smile across my face. You Go Jessie!!!
You ABSOLUTELY MUST read this book if you love dark and twisted thrillers!
I was given an ARC copy of this book to enjoy and review. This review will be cross posted.
This book right out of the gate sucked me in and kept my attention. I've read plenty of thrillers, and sometimes it's written pretty predictably, and you know where it's going. This book was not it. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it took a sharp left turn and took me in a new direction.
This book starts out with a girl who learns someone from her past is seemingly a monster. But it quickly turns into a whole world she never realized she was a part of. Her own mother kept secrets from her that would have vastly changed her life. I honestly thought about a third of the way through, I knew where the storyline would end. And while I was right about some things, the way it truly ended left me speechless.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and I truly hope there are many, many more to come in my future. The writing was so well written and kept me engaged. We get to see perspectives of the story by multiple people, and it never seems confusing or disjointed. A lot of thrillers also end up with the ending being rushed, but this book left me with no unanswered questions or feeling like we didn't get a proper ending.
Holy cow, what a ride! I'm not usually a psychological thriller reader but I'm definitely adding Jessie Rose to my list of authors to read from. This book had me hooked from the beginning. I could not put it down! It's a multi-POV but the story mainly follows Indiana as she learns that her ex is a serial killer and all of his victims look like her. I really enjoyed the story and all the layers to it. That's what had me hooked. You find out one thing and it switches to a new POV and they're talking about something else that hasn't been confessed yet and you're like, whoa wait, what is she talking about, what could it be?! It get's really messy (not the writing) with things that are uncovered but the discoveries are what make the story so awesome.
Jessie really impressed me with her writing! Her thriller, Least Likely Suspect, delivers heart-pounding suspense, jaw-dropping twists, and an unforgettable dose of “Did that just happen?!”
Imagine falling in love with someone, only to find out years later that they might be behind a string of műrděrs—and oh, by the way, all the victims look like you. That’s the chilling reality for Indiana Sebring.
Jessie Rose absolutely nails it with twists that come out of nowhere, and a plot that keeps your brain spinning until the very last page. This story will haunt you long after you’ve closed the book.
If you love suspense, dark secrets, and moments that make you shout, “OMG, no way!”, then this is the perfect thriller for you. Buckle up—you’re in for a wild ride!
According to Dwight Schrute, it is never the person you most suspect, nor least suspect. However, I have to disagree and say the “Least Likely Suspect” definitely committed the crime. Jessie Rose is charged with creating such an engaging story that you will neglect your tasks until it is completed. For me, that was less than 24hrs. The complexity of the characters with no one person being “bad” or “good” but rather taking the readers on a journey, seeing how upbringing and a person’s past experiences can lead them to make certain life altering decisions. I loved how the multiple POVs arose naturally. There is no specific pattern, rather a character’s POV would be a chapter when it became relevant to the story line. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
