Senior year was supposed to be normal, like all the others. Instead, I met them, five guys who became the center of my universe. Our friendship grew but so did my feelings. What should I do when I could never choose between them?
She’s our fated mate but she doesn’t even know about supernaturals. We know she’s something, but we aren’t sure what. We have to gain her trust before we can reveal everything. Once we discover the truth, it will change everything.
Author's This collection includes all four books in the original Brickstone University series. It also includes a bonus story that takes place after the original books. This is a medium burn, paranormal, reverse harem, meaning she doesn’t have to choose. The story changes POVs between the main character and her men. The steaminess factor will go up as the series goes on and it is intended for 18+.
Quick read, full of smut - reverse harem story about five guys and a girl.
Potential spoilers ahead:
Aly is a lonely girl at university (college as it is american) she has a best friend called Anna who likes to party and hates Aly's lateness (she is a softie talking to her ex's best friend). At a frat/house party five new guys to her school, are also there, some of the boys spot Aly and realise she is their mate, turns out the entire group of friends are also her mates as they are Supernatural's.
Nicoli the leader of the pack is a mage, Jax a wolf shifter - confident flirt and mother hen (he is the designated cook/feeder), Ajax a light fae - the quiet and shy nerd, Kiron a dark fae (I honestly don't remember his character much) and finally broody and grumpy Jeremy - a demon. They are all immediately obsessed with her.
Turns out Aly is a Hunter (the enemy species), she already accepts them as her mates when she triggers her hunter genes and remembers her hunter training and life before (a memory charm was placed on her to forget). She is stolen by her recluse parents and human best friend Anna uncovers the boys supernatural truths when helping them get her back.
But Anna's dodgy boyfriend is a secret evil vampire and after some action rescuing Aly (and research into a book where they discover their history was re-written to prevent species mixing and mating because purists!) 3000 yr old vampire man has the only reliable book proving mate bonds include hunters, they steal the book from him after Aly saves her mates (the boys were are taken hostage by vampire - as vampire boy killed his fated mate so no one else can have theirs naturally)...he pops off to kill and turn Anna into a vampire so she is sired and will kill Aly for him.
Aly is devo-ed when she finds Anna dead...she ain't dead though, surprise, and rips into Aly's throat, the boys magically knock Anna out and hold her hostage while they figure out how to fix it and not kill Anna because then Aly will be extra devo-ed. They find out about a charm, which Anna could wear, to stop her from wanting to kill Aly (due to evil vampire sire bond), retrieve said charm and Anna is now a good girl and they all live together. Sadly Anna is trapped in a giant 7th-wheel house. To see how Anna fairs she has her own books read those.
So Aly and her boys want to ensure everyone knows about the mating bonds being hidden. The supernatural council accept their stolen book evidence and as there is racism against other species, the council decide to capture the hunters and force them to listen - one cuckoo hunter elder tries to ruin it...wolf boy gets stabbed...it is ok he survives. They save the day and celebrate in Italy, get engaged and live happily ever after.
Evil vampire is still on the loose though and might be lying about his age, the book lied about it's age it was 2000 yrs old when discovered, but when it when presented to the Supernatural elders as evidence, it is 4000 yrs old...
If this is the author's first works, it makes sense there is progress from book one to three but book four is kinda lazy. Plot holes throughout, no depth to any a characters, no descriptors of the world;places or anything. If you want mildly spicy smut book and don't care about plot or continuity this book could be for you.
I'm honestly surprised I made it as far as I did. The plot was fine, don't get me wrong. It's probably the only thing that got me to read as far as I did, but as soon as she was bonded with all of them, I just couldn't. The writing was bland and non descript, it felt like something I could have written in my high school English class. Sorry..
This was cute and kept me entertained all day. The spice gradually got more intense as the books went on. While I am aware that this is a fictional story full of paranormal aspects, I kept worrying about the poor FMCs vagina. It’s a wonder the woman could walk let alone make it through the entire series without a freaking UTI. Absolutely mind boggling.
The writing was just ok. Nothing life changing but like I said, it was entertaining so that’s all I can really ask for in a book. Also for some reason the chapter numbers just disappeared at one point during the last book. Not a huge deal but I found that odd.
I really wanted to love Brickstone University. The plot had potential, the characters were interesting on paper, and the overall idea was fun and easy to get into. I even enjoyed the general why choose vibe and the college setting.
Unfortunately, I had to DNF halfway through.
I liked the story and the idea behind it, but it lacked depth. I wanted more details about the characters, their past, their emotions. It felt like everything stayed on the surface. There’s a lot of smut, which isn’t a bad thing in itself, but when it takes over the story and there’s no real emotional build-up, it starts feeling empty.
There were also a lot of inconsistencies that made it hard to stay immersed. Things moved too fast, some scenes didn’t make much sense, and I found myself frustrated more than entertained.
That said, it’s a light, no-brain kind of read. You can keep going if you’re in the mood for something easy and spicy. But with more emotional depth and coherence, this could have been a really good story !
Couldn’t do it. DNF 26% and I just gave up. I think it’s the scene where she comes back to the house after feeling the mate pull and being mated to the demon and the book goes “It’s late, so we eventually split up for bed. I know I can’t leave tonight. I need to be in the same place as Jeremy for a while”
BUT THEN THE NEXT LINE IS: “I walk over to Nic, with a sweet smile on my face, and he gives me a cocky grin in return. “Yes, you can stay with me. You don’t even need to ask,” he says.” Instead of sleeping the guy she is mated to? The whole reason she needs to be in the same place as him?
Like… what? I don’t understand. And in part 2 of the book, it almost feels like the writing style changed and a different person was writing it. It was low level writing that felt immature and I hate that because the beginning was honestly good.

The book feels rushed and juvenile to me, honestly. It reminds me of something I would read on Wattpad. I don't know if this makes sense, but the entire book feels like an unfinished thought. I also feel like the female main character is almost boring and has almost no personality. I found the book on TikTok, and the author stated there was spice, but I wouldn't call it that; it felt like the same scene repeated, which was very vanilla. The only thing spicy about it was that it features multiple males. I gave it a few stars because I do like the idea of fated mates as well as the idea of a college romance, but there is not much going for this book. In all honesty, I doubt I will read more by this author in the future.
This is one Omnibus I am SO glad I picked up! This Urban Fantasy Why- Choose I was so much fun to get lost in and follow along. Following along as this FMC falls for a group of guys who she doesn’t know just so happen to be supernatural and her… you guessed it. Mates. The ordinary become extraordinary quickly as they all try to learn the answer to the question on everyone’s minds, why her? The spice is SPICY, the storyline is an emotional roller coaster, and it’s honestly a really fun read.
Favorite Quote: “I’m just going to spit it out. Aly, I want to be your mate. I want to do this right, and I’m hoping you’ll give me a chance to do that.”
If you like the idea of why choose + paranormal + college aesthetic then this book series is for you. We meet 5 paranormal species guys who are best friends who are fated mates to our lovely FMC. They navigate new relationships, unsupportive families, and normal college drama. This does contain a kind of insta-lust turned insta-love situation between everyone. This is a medium spice level with relationship quirks. I enjoyed reading this. 4/5 ⭐️
Great shifter book! Loved all the different personalities from all her different mates. I love a shifter story where the FMC has no clue that she is a shifter till she finds her mates. I liked the authors spin on why she had no clue. The only think I found a little repetitive were the spice scene. I love a good spicy book, but it seemed like the same thing just kept happening and I skipped over a lot of them.
I got through more than half and couldn’t finish. This book popped up in my reels on fb and it looked intriguing. The writing made it the most difficult, it was very tell not show, the dialogue felt very immature. It was more spice (which I can be all about) and not storyline. I couldn’t finish its frustrating when you’ve got adults in a book and they sound like a bunch of preteens.
This book was highly recommend on reddit - I have no idea why. the plot was good enough but the writing is... bad. The sentence structure is overly simplistic with 3 to 4 word sentences being common. additionally, there were scenes where characters were inconsistent in who was present or who knew what. lastly, word swaps like using Pentagon instead of pentagram.. its rough.
ill finish it because the story is cute and I read fast, but its a bit painful to push through.
I love this from the first page till the last word, so much information and so much to discover, I love the mfc, she was amazing and all the male characters were truly amazing. I could hardly put it down it had me so interested and wanting to know what happens, yes one thing was not cleared up but hoping it will be in the next books about Anna. I loved this so so much.
I called it so early on, the twist, that I was hoping I was wrong. I felt like some of the MMC mates got pushed aside a lot in favour of others, 5 was too many for this FMC.
I DNF around 66% (book 3 since this was a combined series), the chapters were really short but by the time I got to this point it just didn't interest me anymore.
It started out as so promising, but as it went on it was like it was written by a high schooler who had no experience in reverse harem. The spicy scenes seemed like they were just copy and pasted. I normally always finish books, but could not finish this book at all.

My Kindle kept glitching and saying I had 32 minutes left in the book through dozens of chapters. Ultimately I decided after nothing was happening and I had read for far longer than 32 minutes, I would listen to my Kindle and decide I was done with this book somewhere around 65%.
I love smut but this was way too much for no reason. The premise of the story was interesting enough then there was about 300 pages of nothingness and smut.
Very cutesy but spicy. Kept me intrigued and wanting more. I'm pretty good at guessing what's next but a couple things threw me which is delightful. The author wrote this very well.
The story was bland. As this was one combined book, I think there were a few cliffhangers, but I really couldn't tell. One of the main plots was a bad guy who was simply identified and then other characters took care of it. There was no really conflict other than fish out of water type things.
This is more smug than plot but it was still cute. I feel like it was just to rushed it def needed some spunk to it. But the spice was spicing that’s for sure
If you're looking for a RH WITHOUT the MM this is perfect for you! These days it's like finding a needle in a haystack..they all have MM involved and finding one without is a godsend! I will be rereading this!
this is a great book with a wonderful plot, amazing characters, funny banter, a happy ending, and a few plot twists scattered throughout it! definitely worth a read
I really appreciate the creativity needed for the story. The premise of the plot was fantastic. I felt like there were some gaps in the plot that could have been filled in more, but overall it was a good story.
The books have a decent base of a plot but finishing the series was a struggle. The writing was rushed and lacking detail. The dialogue came across as immature and basic.
DNF at 34%. The plot was ok, but the writing was bland, immature, and bad. I could t even make it through all the mating scenes and those are my favorite.
