Proxima-Logbücher #3

Diario di Proxima 3: Nella luce: Fantascienza dura (I Diari di Proxima)

Rate this book

An infection leads to a desperate plan.....

Eve has a growth on her arm while she is in suspended animation. Marchenko decides that he wants to release her to treat her, but the Omniscience is having none of it. Instead Marchenko decides that he must take Eve and land on a planet around Sirius so that he can try and treat her, with Francesca as company.
The planet is fairly barren but they find that UV radiation can cause the infection to retreat. After several days of exposure the growth has gone, but they are concerned that without persistent exposure it may return. On the planet's surface are massive cracks within which there is a possibility of life. They therefore decide to explore but the sudden weather systems can wreak havoc...
Another interesting tale about a potential life and its forms on another planet in the continuing search for more Adam and Eves...

Another fun entry in the Proxima Logfiles adventure series.

It seems like this one tried to be more Eve-focused to make up for her lack of participation in the previous two adventures. It unfortunately had to go through a few contrivances in order to make it happen.

The author described how for this series he has a very unplanned freeflowing writing style, which does work for an ongoing adventure series, for the most part. However, it would've been nice if it didn't cause as many contradictions and straight up plot holes with previous entries.

Still enjoying the series, looking forward to reading more.

Good read

Very interesting story. The plot has taken a turn that I hadn't expected. I enjoy the information about our solar system and its entities at the end of each volume.
