Ehhhhhh, I didn't like this one. I LOVE taboo books, esp the ones that make you extremely uncomfortable, but I NEED them to both want it. Daddy dude was a total dick. I didn't like him.
She literally said NO multiple times. So he grooms her with gifts and kindness. Blah.

I buy my taboo books from eden books or smashwords

First, five stars for the dedication alone—“𝘛𝘰 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘰 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴!”

Emery Croft’s recent release “Twisted Bonds” is the true definition of taboo. See TW/CWs listed below.

Unlike other taboo stories I’ve read with common themes, “Twisted Bonds” has the father, Blake, initiating and the daughter, Avery, rejecting him initially.

After Avery’s mother passes, she is sent to live with Blake until she graduates. Over time, as Blake and Avery develop a relationship, Blake introduces her to other schminks. Author Emery Croft is spot on with all the details.

“Twisted Bonds” is a short and smutty story of 79 pages. I enjoyed it!

Twisted Bonds is an emotional and unsettling story that dives deep into grief, loneliness, and complicated family ties. Avery’s return home after her mother’s death feels raw and real at first you can sense her confusion and pain but the story quickly takes a darker, more uncomfortable turn.

It’s one of those books that makes you pause and think about boundaries, trauma, and how loss can twist emotions in unexpected ways. Not an easy read by any means, but it definitely leaves an impression.
