The novel deals with the topic of friendship, trust, and adventures of three youngsters. When one of them is facing a dangerous situation, her two friends stand by her side, showing how important it is to support a loved one, even though they might, at one point, reject our help.

always listen to your instincts. Who's going to take care of you, if not
yourself? Always be careful,' she kept saying. Even though Anja would always
roll her eyes at such speeches, she started taking her mother's words seriously
at that moment. Her instincts were warning her, and she knew she should do
something about it. She was hoping Peter would act quickly and get someone to
come pick her up and take her home. She wasn't even sure if Denis was planning
on taking her back, maybe he would just leave her by the road, trying to get
his revenge. Then she would have to get herself out of a really unpleasant situation,
and she didn't quite know how she would go about it without any money in her
pockets.
