Riley & Kyle have been best friends since they were nine-years-old. To them, it doesn't matter that Riley is a girl and Kyle is a boy, or that Kyle's parents make a lot more money than Riley's, or even that they live an hour away from each other. All that matters is that they've found a friend in each other unlike anyone else, and that they share a bond that is uniquely their own. As Riley and Kyle grow up, however, they learn that life isn't always as simple and as easy as they once thought, and that the lines between friendship, love and hate aren't always so easy to define. Forever is a story about learning to stand alone as well as trust in others. It is a story about growing up, what it means to love and lose, and how to heal. Not just a coming of age story, romance, drama, or inspirational fiction, Forever is, at its core, a story about two people trying to hold onto each other, despite everything life throws at them.
Devon Tarantino is the author of Forever (2014) and the short story In Love And Gore (Published in the anthology Map to Desire- 2019.) She is close to publishing her second full-length novel. When she isn’t writing (or reading) she works as a 911 dispatcher and hangs out with her dog.
Rylie and Kyle are from different sides of the tracks. They find each other when they are young and become the best of friends. They are both there for each others firsts and are constantly leaning on each other as they grow up. The story follows them through the years while they are both finding themselves and each other all over again. They both suffer great loss and love. No matter what happens they always come back to each other. I was hooked from the beginning. This is one of my all time favorites! A MUST READ!
Mixed feelings about this book. It was a very slow book that seemed in need of a good edit because most of it was conversations between two characters without any point.
This s a beaultiful coming of time love story between Riley and Kyle. I just enjoyed watching the two of them start out as friends and which there relationship blossom. My favorite character in the book was Riley's mom. She was the perfect mom. I mean how many moms was excited about your first kiss. I had to break out the ugly cry with this story. I author was all about teaching patience, second chances, and forgiveness. Great story!
