Librarian's note: This is an alternate cover edition of ASIN B00EOFMX5C.

From Hugh Howey's World of Wool...
Book 1 in the best-selling REBEL STATE series!
Once upon a time... the world outside came to an end.
Lexie Brownell brought her two children to Atlanta to attend the National Convention, telling them that afterwards they'd head down to Orlando to visit the parks and see the princesses. But a bright light erupted, mushroom clouds began to form, and everyone attending the Convention was herded underground, into what was supposed to be a nuclear waste storage facility.
To Lexie's horror, she discovers that her brother knew all of this was going to happen. That he added her name, and those of her children, to a carefully screened list of people who'd be saved -- and condemned to a life underground. Life in an enormous concrete silo, where there are farms, schools, apartments, factories, water processing plants -- the seeds of a new community.
A community they can never leave.

Another well written story by Carol Davis. She describes the immediate aftermath of how a young family cope with being herded into a Silo and the slow realisation that this is going to be their new home and life. The characters are slowly being "fleshed" out and it will be interesting to see how they will react in the forthcoming weeks and months after they have started their new lives. The sequel is now out "Missing" which is my next book to read

Enjoyed this different viewpoint of the aftermath of the convention/ explosions. Just quite short. Need more!
