I honestly think this was my favorite book yet in this series (and that's saying something because I think about Red Night once a week at least.)
More than anything else, I just love Mason with my entire heart. His struggles with just feeling unmoored and unable to pick a path and find any passion is just so amazing. I think I've felt like that a lot lately and reading it made me feel better I guess?
First off, I have never had a character from a book make me want to reach through the screen and throat punch them but Cailtyn definitely accomplished that. Ugh. Anywayssss, Mason is so stinking sweet and just lost in the beginning.
I think I love Mason as much as I do Xavier Carrell but in such a different way. This novella is a perfect add on to The Color Series!
I absolutely LOVE this story. Mason sweet baby Mason. I loved reading him come into his own and being proud. Then we have Caitlyn…. I don’t like her but she has her uses for the plot. That brings us to Briggs, at first I was ehh about him but as the story goes on I love him.
I loved the plot of this book and the spicy was top notch. This is a nice quick read and you will not be disappointed.
Poor misunderstood, underdog Mason gets his own story. He had never felt like he was good enough for anyone. It’s great to see that someone finally understands and loves Mason. The first half of the story made me want to fight that troll Caitlyn. The second half of the story was like a warm hug.

Holy fuck; Kitty has done it yet again. This one was different in ways I can’t explain without giving the game away but I can tell you to prepare for some ridiculously strong emotions heading your way.
The final part of the Color Series focuses on Mason, who has always felt second best to his cousin Xavier; who we met earlier in the series. He’s always felt overlooked and just wants to be worthy of someone’s affection; which he will desperately take in any shape or form. Enter Caitlyn, another familiar character who uses Mason for her own twisted pleasures. When Briggs is brought into the fold, courtesy of Caitlyn and her manipulative ways, this brings a lot of thoughts and emotions to the surface for poor Mason to try and decipher on his road to self discovery.
Kitty has this natural ability of making the villains of her stories really villainy to the point you actually despise them. She is the phenomenal master of emotional fuckery. She holds your emotions in her hands and laughs whilst unleashing all hell on your little heart.
The emotions this read dragged out of me were insane; I felt internal rage every time I read the name Caitlyn. I wanted to whisk Mason away and show him all the love and affection he deserved. My poor, sweet Mason. He was so lost on his life journey, seeking acceptance from any avenue. It was heart wrenching. His discovery took longer than most but boy, when he got there, it was liberating. I felt a weight lift off my shoulders, never mind his.
As is standard with all Kitty King books, the spice was always spicing. I’m a sucker for a D@ddy moment but this one certainly upped the ante. I’d even go as far to say this was borderline too much but that just made it even more enticing. Kitty has a knack for throwing you down the rabbit hole and you’ve always gained a few new kinks when you resurface.
This was the ultimate tale of self-discovery and the emotions that go with it. Kitty definitely takes you on a wild ride down the yellow brick road with this one so you better buckle up.

Coming back to the Color Series was like visiting old friends. I love the series and have been anticipating Mason’s story. With Kitty, I’m never sure which direction someone’s story is going, but I know it’ll be a hell of a roller coaster ride and worth every bit of emotions in the end.
Like many, I was not a fan of Caitlyn. The initial pairing of her and Mason had me nervous, and even with Briggs, I was still deciding how I would feel about him. The relationship dynamic was unique, and the way it played out fit the story perfectly. By the end, I think Briggs was my favorite.
Yellow Road had all the spice, major character growth, a vast range of emotions, and everything you could ask for, all wrapped up in a 120-page bow. It was beautifully written, and I was so happy reading through Mason’s journey as he found not only himself but his purpose.

Kitty always seems to rock my world with each book and this one was no different.
Though it was a short read it did not lack emotion and spice. I wanted to reach through the pages and give sweet Mason a hug. He just wanted to find his place in life and I could not be happier once he did.
A certain female can catch these hands though. I could have back handed her so many times.
I absolutely loved this book and the growth for sweet Mason.
So glad Mason had his own book…I wanted to know more of his story & after this novella I feel like I finally get him Mason was often misunderstood….always compared to his cousin Xavier (from Red Night)…he just needed a chance to make his own way in the world….by a crazy turn of events he finally got his time to shine & shine he did I loved his story….things started out a little rocky for him but they honestly had to….you don’t see that ending coming & after all the years of teasing from Xavier he was always looking out for Mason If you have read any or all of the books in the Color Series you need to read this one too…it’s a quick read but well worth it…& as always packed full of spice….when you go from MF to MMF to MM how could there not be
I kept screaming poor Mason while reading but, I knew not to be too sorry for him.
Mason and Briggs are the stuff of dreams and I love them so much! This was a journey of self discovered in perfect Kitty King fashion. The reason why she continues to be one of my favorite authors. She NEVER disappoints. I’m obsessed.

Mason is trying to look for someone who will see him and not compare him to his cousin. His "girl friend" is such a horrible person, but she is giving him the attention he is seeking. Then they meet Briggs, and she has him come into their relationship. Oh my word, this is so spicy and I just love how Mason grows and figures out who he is.
I felt so bad for Mason in the first part of this book. But it took a turn and ended happily. This book is mostly smut, but the plot was cute and I’d never read a coming out before so that was new. It’s fast paced and short, I read it in one go. The novel is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
Mason is a golden boy, the ways my heart tug as his feeling of not fitting in, always being compared to Xavier. A pushover.
Love how he risen from that with the right support and the love of Briggs. Sometimes you need someone or something to push you enough to break your own cycle of destruction.
I don’t want a Caitlyn redeeming arc, she is awful, the only redeeming quality of her was that her revelation push Mason out of that mental state he was in. For that I give her 1 🌟.
For the conclusion of the color series. Was a cherry on top and with a happy ever after ended that Mason and Briggs deserved.

Have you ever wanted to jump in a book and hug a character? That’s what I wanted to do to Mason. He is such a sweet character, but between the girlfriend who could care less, the constant comparison to his cousin, and the feeling of never being good enough, he was dealing with alot internally, and I was feeling bad for my boy.
After reading my last Kitty King book, I was worried about how this story would turn out. (I’m still recovering by the way). Of course, we’ll get a HEA but at what cost??? Some characters were likable, while others were not. IYKYK!
Outside of the plot, the spice was hitting. Kitty is always going to give us a good time.
Briggs stepping into the picture took the story up a notch. The support he provided for Mason brought a smile to my face because he needed someone to see and accept HIM for who he is.
Overall, I enjoyed the story and recommend it to open-minded readers.

First I wanna say I’m so sad that this is the end of color series, I’ve been with these characters since day one and I’m gonna miss them!! Second I’m so glad Kitty gave Mason his own book because DAMN we needed it!! Also kudos to Kitty in writing her first MM romance ❤️
If I’m being totally honest, and don’t hate me, I think Mason is my favourite from the series. While yes he’s a little lost, sometimes speaks before he thinks, and does things that make you think “Why?”, he’s also just a total sweetheart trying to figure out where he fits into a world that compares him to his cousin Xavier. He’s looking for acceptance and love but doesn’t necessarily go about it the right way. I just wanted to jump into this book and give him all the hugs & love that he needed. I also wanted to jump into this book and kick Caitlyn right in her dirty little cvnt. I swear I’ve never hated a character as much as I hate her. I would give her negative 5 ⭐️ if I could and I swear Kitty if you write her a redemption arc I’m gonna be so mad😡Don’t do it!!
Ok now that I got that off my chest let’s talk about Briggs. TBH I wasn’t sure what I felt for him when he came into the book. I mean I knew he was gonna be the one that ended up with Mason but I was I like “You’re kinda a dick.” BUT THEN the truth comes out about why he got involved with Caitlyn and I’m like “AWE, you so sweet.” Oh and just an FYI there is A LOT of “D@ddy” spice in this book so be prepared 🔥
I’ll leave you with this, Kitty has yet to disappoint me in ANYTHING I’ve read, and I’ve read EVERYTHING of hers so do with that what you will 😉

My Advanced Copy Review (5/5 ⭐️, 4/5 🌶️) Mason Cardell is known as Xavier Cardell’s cousin, and having his failures compared to his cousin isn’t something Mason wants to be known for. He goes through a journey of self-discovery, and along the way, he gets together with a girl he deems hot but isn’t totally into. He’ll do anything to please her, even have another man take her before him and perhaps join the party. But during this self-discovery, Mason discovers that what he thinks he should be isn’t what he really wants and decides to forge his own path. That means dumping those who hold him from his true self. This novella has me feel all the emotions, and I swear I thought Levi was my king, but Mason totally topped him. I related to Mason in more ways than one, and I felt deeply hurt when he went through times of turmoil. But in true Kitty King form, my king was redeemed and tied the whole series up in a nice little bow. Definitely read the whole series, but if you don’t get around to it, at least read this one. It will lead you through many ups and downs, hot and heavy interaction, and moments of deep inner thoughts (unless that’s just me lol).

Yellow Road is a super spicy MF to MMF to MM college romance and the final book in the Color Series. I had a feeling going into this that I was gonna love Mason, but my God, that boy completely stole my heart! The chemistry and dynamic between Mason and Briggs(with Caitlyn in the picture and especially without her) was absolutely to die for. Mason’s self discovery journey somehow managed to be both sweet and scorching hot. There’s spice in every single chapter and I could not get enough of Brigg’s dirty mouth! Spice Chapters 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 First off, I have yet to read a single book from Kitty King that I have no loved. I devour her books. I love the men she writes and the dirty things they say. Mason the MMC in this book broke my heart. I loved him. I loved his story. Despite this book being a novella and only being 10 chapters, the characters develop and I fell in love with them, well all of them but one. This book was spicy and hot. 🥵 It has moments of vulnerability and clarity. I can’t find a single thing bad to say, other than it was over too soon. I loved Mason and I loved Briggs. Of course adored that I got to hear a little from another favorite character of mine in the Color Series. He came through for me when it mattered most, like he always does. If you have not started the Color series by Kitty King, I am not sure what you are waiting for exactly…do you need permission? You have it, go snag one or all of them and you will not regret it. Start with Red Night, make sure to get the one with Xavier’s POV, then come back and thank me. 😉
Some books make me want to reach out and protect, hug, and console the main character. Mason is one of those characters, and he will most likely stay with me for a long time. Which is odd for me and a novella. My trigger with this read was how Kitty captured his feelings of uncertainty and his lack of sense of self and made me feel them, too. It took me back to those times when I was unsure of myself and didn’t have the right people or resources around me to help me grow. I wanted to be his friend and help him.
Why you should read this? Because, because, because, because, because... Because of the wonderful things [s]he does.
She=Kitty.
I’m pretty resigned to the tropes I like to read and I’m pretty unwavering about them. Some of my bookish friends know this. But, this argument doesn’t hold true for Kitty. If she writes it, whether I’m into the “thing” or not, the storytelling is always a great highlight for me.
So, thank you, Kitty, for being one of those people that “expands my horizons.”

All the stars for my sweet baby angel Mason and this fantastic novella. I did not expect Mason's happiness journey to affect me so much, being that he was not a character I was curious about in the previous books.
The female character in this story you will also have met if you've read the other Color series books, which I would highly suggest. I assure you that your opinion of her will be solidified by the last page of Yellow Road. She doesn't even deserve to have her name mentioned in this review.
The stars of this whole shebang are Mason and Briggs. I am not someone who reads MM romance very often, but these two men deserve all the love and support in the world.
I am so sad for the ending of the Color Series but can not wait to see what exciting things will come for these characters in the future. It's a Kitty King world, so anything goes. We just have the privilege of reading it.
Absolutely heart touching and scorching hot. Masons story was magical. I found myself: cackling, crying, and hot and bothered within pages because kitty is a wizard with words. She made masons journey of self discovery so relatable I just wanted to hold him 🥹 he's the guys who messes everything up and is stumbling through life but has such a heart of gold, he keeps going and tries to do better to get it right. Plus the smking hot smex he gets himself roped into is swoon worthy. The heat was off the charts 👌 I'm a huge fan of mm and mmf and this just hit my top 3 favorites of all time. Even though this was an extremely fun time, it also had a really sweet story to it. It's not as detailed as far as world building (the smex is VERY detailed 🤣) as the previous 3 in the color series but by now, you should know the storyline, if this is your first book in the series, have no fear! Enjoy the ride but if you want more world building/backstory, check out the others!!
I am a huge fan of color series and was so excited to get my hands on the final book! This is a novella length story but it full of action! Chapter one kicks off the spice and it doesn’t stop!
Remember, this is a Kitty King story - trust we will get our HEA! There is a character you are going to hate and probably question where the story is going but it all works out in the end.
I loved sweet Mason! He was really struggling to find himself and how to exist in Xavier’s shadow. There is one scene in particular where Mason is being honest with his family I loved how we get a quick reminder of how protective Xavier is.
Briggs is exactly who Mason needs in his life…but what are his intentions?
While this is the end of the Color Series we aren’t saying goodbye to Northview University yet! A whole new series is coming!

DAMN!!! This was one hell of a deliciously depraved but utterly sweet and kinky story! And could not get enough of it.
Mason’s constant craving to just fit in and belong had my heart in a chokehold. His continual struggles with who he is, what he should be doing, who he should love and just his day-to-day feelings of being lost, was something we all struggle through at some point, so bits and pieces were totally relatable. I just wanted to reach in a hug sweet Mason and tell him things will come his way soon.
I absolutely hated Caitlyn and the way she treats Mason. Briggs, on the other hand, I absolutely loved. He quickly had me swooning over the way he fell for Mason quickly and just wants to protect this sweet boy.
And the smut contained in this story – absolutely perfect!
This was quite the short, sweet and kinky novella that we all knew we needed to finish off this amazing series.
This was a quick and amazing read. Mason is such a sweetheart, the way Caitlyn treated him(mostly outside of the bedroom and sometimes in) made me want to slap her. She was downright awful. My sweet Mason put up with it because he wanted to feel accepted. Enter Briggs this man showed up and used what he had to get what he wanted. This started as a threesome but was quickly turned into a twosome. Once Briggs was able to get Mason away from ole girl it was on. He said my man my man my man. When Mason decided he wanted to get serious about life and cut out the bad I was happy. My favorite part of the book was when he told Xavier he was gay and he was like okay you still have to pay for the car( he scratched Xavier’s corvette). Then Xavier was like who is this man, what’s his name, if he hurts you he’s gone!! It was so awe worthy!!! Honey Mason started to live his truth and got his man and the rest is history!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

My sweet sweet boy Mason 🥰 I didn't even know I needed him to get everything he wants in life until this book!!! Seeing life from his perspective of not ever being good enough and constantly compared to his cousin (if you've read Red night you know X's shoes are impossible to fill) made me want all the things for him… well all the things except Cuntlyn!!!! That b!tch made me see red so I'm just going to never speak her name again 👊🏻 Briggs on the other hand deserves his Daddy title, he's dominant AF yet so sweet and perfect for Mason… I'm still swooning!!!! This was the perfect short spicy read. I started it and finished it in a day… notice I did NOT say in 1 sitting, because lets be honest this book will require breaks 😉 (I did mention it's 🌶️🌶️🌶️ right) Thank you so much for the ARC Kitty, what a beautiful ending to this series 🥹
It's Mason's turn to finally get his story after being the major screw up in the other guys books. He's bumbling, lazy and completely downtrodden with zero self esteem. Caitlyn Watson is using him because she can't have Xavier and Mason is a confused mess. Enter Briggs , Caitlyn orchestrates a threesome with him and Mason as Mason liked to be a cuckhold . As these continue it becomes clear that Caitlyn is just a buffer , Briggs wants Mason but Mason is still firmly in the closet even though he's attracted to Briggs. Will Mason sort his life out and get the happy ending he deserves ? Read and see. My only criticism here is that I wish it had been a full length novel instead of a novella , I wanted more time with Mason , he's such a misunderstood sweetheart
My only complaint.... WHY WASN'T THIS A WHOLE BOOK. I need more of sweet Mason!! I just want to wrap him in a giant hug and hide him away from the world. He has got to be my favorite of the guys. Xavier will always have my heart but there is something about Mason that called to me.
The fact that he was able to find someone who actually made him believe he was worth it all and deserved everything and anything made my black heart melt a little.
The spice is hella spicy and the "girlfriend" is a complete uhshsdkfhkahg. I could literally just kick her off a ledge and walk away without a second thought. It is, however, sweet satisfaction that both Briggs, him, and Xavier kicked this girl to the curb.
💛I have yet to be disappointed by a book written by Kitty King and chalk Yellow Road up as another excellent read for me. Kitty King’s writing gets me in the feels every damn time. This is the first time I had a rabid dislike for one of her characters. But that’s kind of the point right? Feel all the feels . 💛 Mason has my heart. The progression of his character development and his emotional evolution throughout the story made my heart sing. For him to find himself, who he wants to be and his place with his person is just pure perfection. And seriously kitty ???? Sweetie is the best side character and the way she brings the story together is brilliant. 💛 Emotionally wrecked in the best of ways I highly recommend the entire color series.
