Scout Randall thought she had things well in hand. Then a loa landed in her lap and life exploded. Baron Samedi does what he wants, when he wants. Right now he wants to learn as much as he can about the new pixie apex…and the lamia apex who is gunning for her. He doesn’t care who he annoys as he gathers his information. Scout’s plan is to ignore him—after all, she has ghouls and random fires to deal with and he’s up to mischief one town over—but it becomes apparent quickly that the loa is in town for more than just a spying mission. It seems Bonnie is no longer in danger of dying. She’s mastered her new reality and now she has a plan. If she can’t stop the inevitable big battle, she’s going to figure out a way to remove Scout from the equation altogether. If that happens, not only will Scout be gone, but nobody will remember her. Scout wants to win but is she ready for the sort of battle that requires the ultimate sacrifice? She’s about to find out. And it’s not going to be pretty.
When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
My favourite thing about these books is that we get to.see.characters from other series cross over. Post &friends from Mystic Circus, Bay, Tillie and The rest from The Winchester Witches, Stormy from The Three Broomsticks and Zoe Lake Winters (of course) complete with husband and daughter. Now, we don't see everybody every time but Bay and Tillie are regulars and they bring along the rest of their dysfunctional family, especially as Gunner's dad is now dating Bay's Aunt Millie. I love it. Scout in this book finds herself.a.but off.her game, it's all.starting to get a bit too much for her, feeling with the Lamia Apex and the return of her extremely large family. All.she wants is a full day in bed with Gunner and fried chicken, is that too much to.ask?.....................
Two Birds, One Crone is book twelfth in the Spell's Angels series by Amanda M. Lee. Scout Randall thought her life was perfect. However, Baron Samedi has other things on his mind, and Scout is on the list. The readers of Two Birds, One Crone will continue to follow Scout and Baron Samedi to discover what happens.
Two Birds, One Crone is a fantasy book, a genre that I generally enjoy. However, I did not enjoy reading it. I did not engage with the story or the characters. I like Amanda M. Lee's portrayal of her characters. Two Birds, One Crone was well-written and researched, but I did not enjoy Amanda M. Lee's writing style. However, I liked Amanda M. Lee's description of the settings of Two Birds, One Crone, which complemented the book's plot.
Although I did not enjoy this book, I recommend it to others who enjoy fantasy and cozy mysteries.
Scout is definitely feisty and fun, snarky and sarcastic (somehow it is always a hilarious combination). Along with her beloved fiancé Gunner, his dad Graham and bestie vampire Evan, the Winchesters (with their magical madness, mayhem and crazzzzzy aunt Tillie,) are part of the good guys along with the Rooster and the Cauldron crew, they are in for the final fight. It’s the biggest of the big - good versus evil, the Light against the Darkness…
Scout and her magician underdog pals are up against a magical power stealing lamia and she is determined to take Scout out and rule the world, which never ends well.
Even the Laos and the gods are in on this one and such a wild card (yes, looooooking at you Cerunnos!!)
Poet and the Mystic Caravan pals make an appearance or two (LOVE them!) because it will take a magical powerhouse village to save Scout and the world.
A terrific novel, an entertaining cast, fast paced action and a hilarious antiheroine who will reluctantly save the world with all the snark and sarcasm she can muster, and an absolutely worthwhile read
extraordinary entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series
This is an extraordinarily entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. This story is about scout in the spells Angels. They are part of Amanda M. Lee‘s magical universe. Multiple storylines that intercede in crossover into each other on occasion with mini characters interacting with each other throughout the different series. Scout is building up to a major battle With a unstable Apex lamia Bonnie who used to work for the spells angels but is unstable and gone off her rocker a little bit. Forces are building tensions are building and Bonnie is causing problems in the area. Read on and follow the adventures and battles between scout And the evil forces building up. Will they win can they stop them time will only tell.
Another amazing book by this amazing author. This series and all of the other series that tie into this amazing plot have had a hold on me for years now. Scout might not be my favorite FMC in the entire universe that Amanda has created (Poet is my favorite, and Bay right there beside her. Charlie, Luna, Stormy and Hadley are a close 2nd/3rd combo. Zoe and Aisling... I can't even say they are my favorite because that would be too low for them. They are on entire level by themselves) but she has had such an amazing character development arc that I am really starting to become emotionally involved with her now. I am really excited to finally read about the final battle. And my goodness.... I want a book with ALL of the main characters (and all the important side characters!) of EACH series to be in ONE DAMN BOOK. Please... please... please!
This book had a lot of action, so many moments when I was laughing and a ton of sarcasm which led to a lot of the laughing. This also has several pivotal moments in Scouts journey to the prophecy. This is another one of Ms. Amanda M. Lee's series that is a favorite due to everything I mentioned above. But when she adds Tillie to the story that guarantees a lot more laughs and outrageous scenarios.
Her care of characters are great. ❤️aunt Tillie and Marnie. The lead female characters of all the intertwining stories seem to read the same. This book was too Mordor me. Like the adventures but the characters were watered down. Gunner was unlike any macho man I’ve experienced. Previous books he was strong solid with a kind yet Alpha disposition. This book he was simply immature.
This was an interesting story from the Spells Angels with a lot of help from the Winchesters and the Barron, and the horned God. There was a lot of interesting twists and shenanigans with Aunt Tillie and Gunner melting down. I wasn’t as fond of making Gunner out to be such a pansy at times. This story set up the next few stories as well as the big showdown. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
Ms Lee’s books are always full of wisecracking action. The characters are always entertaining. Each book takes us closer to the “big battle” but a lot of knowledge and growth needs to happen before we get there. I was happy to see progress in Scouts growth in Two Birds One Crone. There is more crossover from other books, so there is a quick catch up with other favorite characters.
Scout Randall’s future and past have been dancing for awhile but the plots of her enemy are pulling her world together. Whether or not she wants to Scout needs to let others in if she wants have the spirit to win this fight. Can she do it? Will she dare to reach for the family she has cultivated?
Wonderful story and characters that make you want more!
Things are getting serious and Scout is right in the center of it all. I love how so many books by this author are coming together and building towards the climax. So many characters coming together in different storylines but with one ending. Who will win the big fight is anyone's guess at this point. Definitely one of the best authors out there!
I really love the world that Ms. Lee has created (I’m not saying that I want to live in it, but I enjoy visiting it 😀). When I get to the end of each book, I really want to keep reading. I also love the crossovers from one series to the next. Scout’s meltdown in this book made her much more realistic and relatable.
So many different friends and groups coming together as Bonny tries to gather various groups to take out Scout. Everyone is growing, and you begin to see the chess pieces more clearly. Bonny wants power. Scout wants to save her friends, and possibly the world.
Scout, Gunner and friends are back as they try to anticipate what Bonnie, the apex lamia, is going to do. They have to deal with misc. creatures she has recruited for her war. Scout is still struggling to reconcile with her family. Somehow Cernunous and the Baron are involved and Poet and the Winchester family get involved.
I liked the story and of course I love the characters in this series. It feels like a lot of my favourite series are coming to an interesting finish in the near future. I can’t wait to see how Luna will play into things, since she’s been mentioned a few times in this one.
Amanda M Lee has done it again! An awesome story filled with laughter & fraught with danger. All the major characters are coming together to fight the final battle with Bonnie, the lamia apex.
The plot lines are convoluted and suspenseful. I had to put down the story to review and understand everything. The characters are maturing. Can't wait for the next book.
Scout continues to evolve as a strong character- self awareness is peaking around the corner- the game board becomes more solid - who will be at the final battle?
Awesome read, with lots of a action and snarky humor. Great characters and storyline, the lamia apex is gathering an army for the big battle and keeping Scout and friends busy.
Book 12 finds the crew in skirmishes with the Lamia apex. There are various paranormal creatures, laugh-out-loud humor, loads of danger, magic fights, gods, and love. Highly entertaining.
Another great story from Amanda M. Lee. I love everything she writes. All of her mysteries are clever and she has a wonderful sense of humor. You won't be sorry to buy this book.
I absolutely love the characters in this series. Actually I love how Ms. Lee intermingled characters from her other series. It adds to the storyline and makes an interesting twist. A truly unique and enjoyable experience with each new adventure.
I always enjoy these books. Amanda's characters are funny and heartwarming. Scout has so many different places she needs to be. Without a plan on how she's getting there. She has grown so much . You will fall in love with everyonr.
I like all of the characters in this series of books. I'm enjoying how all of the series are coming together with all the main characters out of all of the series of books. I can't wait to get to the next book!!!!
Page turner. Bonnie is going mad and adding to her army. Scout and friends are trying to stay ahead. Danger, death and friends who will help. Loved it. No cliffhanger and hea. Can't wait to read the next book.
I read all of her series. They are all great!! Looking forward to the next one. I love the snark and sarcasm and how all the characters from the other series plays a part.
