Gilgamesh

Rate this book
Zac Donegan meets a tramp on a park bench and is transported to ancient Mesopotamia to witness the events of the Epic of Gilgamesh. However, things aren't quite what he expected. For one, the gods are a race of aliens, and two, he is not as safe as he was led to believe.

He is there to watch Gilgamesh fight Enkidu. He sees the gods' parliament in session, he sees the world through the eyes of a god, is raped while in the body of a princess, faces death in battle, and burns like a bush in an attempt to make himself visible to Gilgamesh.

And he witnesses the bloody battle with the robot guardian, Huwawa.
